Spider in Space

It all happened so fast.

No warning.

No alarms.

No explanation.

Half of life in the universe suddenly vanished; turned to dust and then blown away in the wind.

The heroes whom the world had depended on and given so much up for...had failed.

As painful as it may be to hear, this part of the story must be told.

It all started that afternoon, just after lunchtime.

It had started with earthquakes all over the world. Most where nothing too bad; but the fact that they happened all at the same time had many on edge. Especially when gravity seemed to briefly vanish after they subsided.

The Rangers, now joined by another, had managed to sneak to Zordon's base, hopeful their mentor would be able to explain things tp them...only to be concerned when he seemed just as lost as them.

"Oh man, you know its bad when the big head doesn't know." Tommy Oliver, the quick learning Green Ranger and the best hand to hand fighter on the team. While her quip was agreed on, no one on her team appreciated it.

"Wait, I have something!" Alpha announced, pulling up a news report.

"That's Peter's bus route!" Trini shouted in fear, not backing away when her teammates looked on her in a mix of wanting to comfort her and wondering just how she knew that. She simply pointed to a blur that seemed to be swinging closer to wherever the chaos was centered.

"Well, this isn't exactly the reunion we were hoping for, but at least we'll save the world again" Zack mused.

"And this time. I'LL be a part of it." Tommy grinned hopefully.

"You're still not sore about that, are you?" Kimberly asked her best friend.

"You guys were trained by a freaking superhero while I was at first mind controlled into attacking you guys before you snapped me out of it, you're darn tooting I'm still a little sore over that!" Tommy retorted, then adopting a teasing grin. "And hey, now we can tease Trin a little more."

"Do it and you pay for waffles for a week, Oliver." The yellow Ranger glared, somewhat playfully.

"Tommy, did you and Alpha manage to...?" Jason started, only for his friend to cut him off.

"Just yesterday." Billy finished. "We just need to be ported a little closer."

"Can you do that, Zordon?" Kimberly asked.

"It doesn't matter if I can or cannotm it must and will be done. Just be careful, Rangers." Zodon begged, his voice filled with worry. "An attack of this magnitude leaves no room for error, so please...don't do anything unless your certain."

Alpha teleported them into the NYC area before giving the report a better look.

"Wait, isn't that...?" Alpha started, only for his fear to speak for itself before Zordon nodded.

"Serpentera."

The ship that was floating over New York had parts from a machine Zordon was very familiar with. The problem with this was that for them to be a part of this ship? That meant the owner of said machine, someone Zordon knew, respected and feared...was dead.

"This new foe rid us of Zed; but I fear as if Zed would've been preferred."

Alpha shuddered at that thought; Zed? The Lord of Evil? Zordon's former best friend and the origianl R ed Ranger of their team?

HE would've been preferable to whoever was coming?

Oh, this was not good.

Sadly, in a few hours, Zordon's point would be proven correct.

SMPR

Sneaking away from the bus had been easy; Ned didn't even have to really think about a distraction with the big spaceship in the sky. This did not mean that Spider-Man was enjoying this, even if he was fighting alongside Iron Man and some other guy who seemed to create circles that responded to his will.

These aliens were way ugiler than Rita's Putties, and they were way stronger.

Alita had made herself known and come to Peter aid as he had chased after the telepath, smashing ant debris he would've otherwise have to dodge.

"Brings back memories, huh?" She teased.

"I'd rather not recall tho..." Spider-Man started before he saw their target being surrounded by a blue light and pulled upwards...as where the two heroes. "Um..Mr. Stark? We're being beamed up!"

Alita grabbed her friend's arm and then a pole, which held them for a few seconds before pulling them upwards. The masked boy began to have trouble breathing and his world went black...

realizing this, the android, with all her strength, managed tp punch through the beam and land them onto the rim of the ship.

"Sorry! I always forget that humans can't breathe in space!" Alita chuckled.

"And I always forget you're a cy..."

"Android!" Alita corrected. "...You know I'm sensitive about that."

"Sorry."

Before another word could be said, something slammed into Peter and covered his form; an Iron Man style Spider-Man costume.

"It smells like a new car in here!" The webhead beamed, before a parachute opened and sent him falling backwards. "OH COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"

Alita jumped after her friend, desperate to help slow his movement. This would be for naught however, as they sunddely stopped falling and began to rise back up. Looking down, they saw why:

The Megazord broke through the clouds.

"IT CAN FLY?!" Peter and Alita asked in shock. "SINCE WHEN?!"

"Hey there, Pete!" The Rangers beamed from their respective Zord

"Hey Alita!" Billy beamed.

"Hi Billy!"

"Loving the new suit, babe!" Trini beamed.

"Uh, thanks, just got it!" Spider-Man began

An explosion caught thier attention. Spider-Man and Alita turned to see a new Zord; one that looked like a black and silver Mecha-Godzilla, attacking the ship.

"Hate to break up the reunion, but we got a mission, guys!" A new voice shouted from inside the new Zord, from whose fingers came missile and whose tail, with had a drill on it, damaged the spires.

"I take it your the new one?" Spider-Man asked.

"Tommy Oliver at your service." The Green Ranger said. "And yes. I am a girl."

"I'm not complaining." Peter assured her.

Sadly, this distraction was all the ship needed to arm itself and open fire, shooting off the Tiger-Zord and sending it falling.

"TRINI!"

Without a second thought, Spider-Man leapt downwards and empited his web cartiages; barely catching the Zord while holdinh on for dear life. Luckily, Trini was ejected from the Zord and soon found herself in her boyfriend's arms. Unfortunately, her Zord plummeted to the ground just as the web to the ship was cut.

A blue blur suddenly dashed upwards via the debris and sent the Yellow Ranger and Web-Slinger back upwards, where Alita quickly caught them, to the relief of many.

"Need a hand?"

The blur turned out to be one of the oddest looking creatures Peter had ever seen; a two legged, blue furred hedgehog wearing cartoonish gloves and what looked like sneakers.

"Name's Sonic." The creature beamed.

Before another word could be said, the ship opened fire again; this time sending the rest of Megazord falling out of sight. Alita and Spider-Man grabbed their old and new friend before they were sent flying again and managed to sneak inside.

"...Not exactly how I pictured this day going." Peter and Alita mused together as the door closed.

SMPR

The other founding rangers crash landed somewhere else; a deep forest that seemed to be right next to a city straight out of science fiction.

When they awoke, they found a Legend standing before them.

"Need a hand, kids?"

Zack and Billy were to awestruck to say anything. Kimberly had to pinch Jason for him to snap to attention.

"T-thank you, Mr. Rogers! I mean, Captain Roger! Mister America! I mean...!"

Jason hid his face in his palms, groaning when Kimberly chuckled lightly.

"Welcome to Wakanda."

SMPR

After dealing with the creepy telepath (and nearly losing Sonic to the cold void of space before Spidey saved him), the kids, android and hedgehog were introduced to the man Iron Man had been so adamant to save.

"Doctor Strange." He announced himself.

"Oh, we're using made-up names?" Peter realized. "I'm Spider-Man."

"Yellow Ranger."

"Green Ranger."

"...Not very creative." Sonic mused.

"I know right?" Alita pointed out. "I'd have gone with...Sabertooth and Dragon or something. I'm Alita, by the way, good doctor."

"And I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!" The blue hedgehog beamed. "Fastest thing alive!"

"...I have so many jokes." Tony said. "But I get the feeling you're a kid, and Pepper would kill me for corrupting another one like I did Pete..."

"Mr. Stark, you didn't..."

"You. Hush." Tony snapped, then returning to Sonic. "You too, If we need something grabbed, we'll let you know."

"...At least you're somewhat cooler than Robotnik." Sonic whispered to himself.

Tony turned to Strange.

"Port them back to earth."

"No."

This raised many brows.

"I'm sorry, what?" Tony said.

"We need all the help we can get. They may be young, but they clearly have fought before." Strange said.

Seeing as there was no way he could win, Tony let out a groan and placed teh side of his hand on each of the teen's shoulders.

"Congrats kids. You're Avengers now."

Peter, Trini and Tommy's eyes widened in elation, confusion, happiness and nervousness. Alita could barely hold her exictement.

"Alright, second world saving adventure!" Sonic grinned happily. "And with the Avengers no less! Dave is going to be so jealous!"

Another portal opened suddenly in he middle of the room; this one roaring with red and green.

"That's not one of mine." Strange said with a hint of confusion and desperation, which gave everyone an incentive to entering a fighting stance.

From the portal jumped two more Rangers, both male and with a dragon like design to their costumes.

"Are we too late?!" They said together, each brandishing a sword. The blue Ranger, who had antlers atop his helmet and a yellow moustache on his mask with a katana at his side while the red ranger, with goat horns on his helmet held a saber.

"Oh great, more kids!" Tony groaned

"Whoa, big guy!" Tommy stopped the Avenger from going off on a triade. "They're probably friendlies! Trini and them mentioned a bunch of Space Rangersl maybe they're part of them. Right...?"

It then became apparent that the newest inhabitants of the ship's eyes were solely on one person.

"...Uncle Tommy?" The newcomers asked.

"...Uncle?" Tommy asked in confusion.

Hope you like what's been done with the first of the two final Avenger movies. I may have rushed it a little bit due to my mind being own other stories (and not just fanfics) but having promised to post this tonight.

This will NOT happen with other chapters. I thank you for your understanding and patience.

The decesion to make Tommy a girl came from a rumour that justimtaylor heard about in regards to the new Power Ranger movie sequel, and Sonic's introduction into the affair has been a longtime hope of there's. At the time of this posting, I have not actually yet seen the movie, although it WAS SPOILED FOR ME!

Sorry. Anyways, I hope I did character justice.

The Two new Rangers are the leads of my new Power Ranger story; Dragon Drive, the prologue of which at the very least shall be uploaded shortly.

Finally, someone has decided to try their hand at a story that will explain Peter an Alita met. When they post, we shall post an update with a title and link. Something else to look forward to.

Part 2 should be up same time next week (as long as I don't get called in), so look forward to it!
