Chapter 3-2: Three... Two…

The group begins looking around.

And Deuce spots a shop, "Oh, the big place right in front of us is actually the most famous clock shop in town. Let's go in."

They soon walk inside to see all the different clocks.

The clock vendor says,"Welcome!"

"They've got a lot of timepieces, but it seems like pocket watches are their main seller," Silver says.

"The White Rabbit had one, so they're very popular in town," Deuce says.

"So many different kinds!" Ortho says.

And Epel notices, "The ones over here have digital faces."

"I suppose pocket watches are all alike in form, so they try to differentiate them with features," Ortho says.

"You should be able to find one with an alarm function, Silver," Deuce says.

"An ordinary alarm won't work on me. I need something really loud. Or grating. Or both," Silver says.

Deuce thinks about it, "Huh, that might be harder to find."

Then Epel has an idea, "Ooh, you can use a voice recording for your alarm on this one."

Grim agrees, "That's the one, Silver! Get it and let me record a wake-up call for ya!"

"Being woken up by Grim? Sounds awful…" Deuce says.

"Sounds like it will be loud," Jasper says.

"Yeah, no thanks," Epel says.

But then Silver says, "That would be great."

Deuce, Epel, Jasper & Ortho reply in shock, "Huh?!"

"I think someone's voice is more likely to wake me up than some mechanical sound," Silver says.

Grim laughs, "Myahaha! I bet you're right!"

"I guess that means Grim's voice is grating?" Ortho replies.

"W-well, I don't know if that's what he's saying, exactly," Epel says.

"But Grim is pretty loud at times, believe me," Briar says.

"Hey!" Grim responds, feeling offended.

Briar, Sereia, and Trinket giggle in response.

Then Deuce says, "Hey, what if l recorded the alarm with Grim?"

"Ooh, me too!" Epel says.

Ortho says, "Me three."

"Thank you, everyone," Silver says. Then turns to Briar, "Can I count on you too, Briar?"

Briar nods, "Of course."

"Great. Thank you," Silver says.

Then tells the vendor, "I'll take it."

The clock vendor then gives Silver the clock after paying for it.

"Thank you very much!" The vendor says.

"Let's record our alarm. What should we say?" Silver says.

Deuce suggests, "'Wake up! You're late!' or something?"

"I think I need something more urgent than that," Silver suggests.

"'Get up already!' maybe?" Epel suggests.

"Bit bossy, isn't it? Not sure that's something an honor student should say…" Deuce says.

"Let's just give it a try," Epel says.

"I'll hit record," Ortho says, and ready to record, "Three... Two…"

Together, everyone shouts, "Get up already!"

"Recording complete," Ortho says.

"Wow, that was really loud!" Epel says.

"Well, there are like around ten of us," Tanzanite says.

Deuce turns to Silver, "How was that, Silver?"

"Seemed good," Silver says, "But I have to admit, I'm not sure it'll really wake me up."

"Really?!" Deuce replies, shocked, "Well then, what else can we try?"

"Rather than overthinking it, we should just improvise and see what comes out," Ortho says.

"Yeah, that could work," Deuce says.

"Well then, Deuce Spade. I'll give you a three-second countdown before I hit record," Ortho says.

Deuce reacts in shock, "Wait, you want me to do it on my own?"

"If we all ad-Iib at the same time, it'll just be a bunch of gibberish," Ortho says. Then says, "Three... Two... One... Rolling!"

"Uh…" Deuce replies, and soon screams, "HEY! Wake up RIGHT NOW! Or ELSE!"

"Okay, that's saved to the second voice slot," Ortho says.

"...I don't know what came over me!" Deuce says. Then turns to Silver, "S-sorry, Silver! That was so rude…"

But Silver says, "No, it was great. Very impactful. Thanks, Deuce."

"Huh?" Deuce replies, and gets flustered, "B-but, that was... You can't…"

"Getting screamed at like that will definitely wake me up. I knew coming to Clock Town was a good idea," Silver says.

"If Silver is happy, that's all that matters, right Deuce?" Epel says.

Deuce becomes flustered, B-but that means everyone in Diasomnia is gonna hear that... I'll never live it down…"

"Here, lemme set your alarm for tomorrow," Grim says, "What time you wanna wake up, Silver?"

"6 am. Please," Silver says.

"Got it. I'll just press this here, and then…" Grim says and sets the alarm.

But Deuce says, "...Grim. You've set it to 6 p.m."

"Oh, really? Well then, just press here and…" Grim says and sets the alarm, "How's that?"

But Epel says, "Now you've set it for 16:00! How'd you even get it on 24-hour time?"

"Eh, forget this. At least there's an alarm set for SOME time now, right?" Grim says, giving up.

Deuce sighs, "Unbelievable."
