Chapter 3-6: That'll Be the Minion
The gang waits outside of the story.
Soon, Silver walks out with his souvenirs. He apologizes, "Sorry for the wait. I've finished paying."
Then Grim says, "I need to get some souvenirs too."
"What are you going to buy?" Ortho asks.
"Grub, o' course!" Grim says, "Gonna stuff myself silly!"
"Should have known," Jasper says.
Trinket nods in response.
"So the souvenirs...are for you," Deuce replies.
"With your appetite, Grim, you'll have to buy quite a lot to satisfy yourself," Epel says.
"Which is bound to cost a fortune," Deuce says.
Hearing that makes Grim disappointed, "Aw, man... I ain't got that kinda cash."
"Guess you'll have to make do with whatever little snack you can afford," Epel says.
But Grim refuses, "Forget that! I just gotta find some kinda...infinite snack!"
"No such food appears in my database," Ortho says.
Then Silver suggested, "You could buy a potted plant or some bulbs."
"Myah?" Grim replies, confused.
Deuce soon agrees, "Oh, that's smart! Grow something that bears fruit and you can harvest it every year...forever!"
"Y-you make it sound so easy…" Epel replies, sheepishly.
"Potted plants and bulbs and stuff ain't cheap," Grim says.
Then Deuce suggests, "Seeds, then."
"Ooh! Yeah, I can scrounge up enough for some seeds" Grim says, and gets excited, "In fact, I can get a bunch! Apples, plums, peaches...!"
"There's no way you'll stick with it long enough to get fruit, Grim!" Epel says.
"Not to worry—won't be me tendin' to 'em. That'll be the minions," Grim says.
"We're not your minions," Jasper says, annoyed.
Deuce, Epel, Ortho, & Silver respond, "Uh…"
"My thumb's not exactly green…" Briar says, sheepishly, "Plus, it does take a while for plants to group, especially trees."
But Deuce says, "I'd say you're more capable than Grim. And I'm not sure you have a choice anyway.."
"I can check in on your plants from time to time, Briar. See how you're doing. I wouldn't want them shriveling to nothing!" Epel says.
Briar smiles, "Thanks Epel. To be honest, Trinket actually wanted some flower seeds so we could grow some flowers at the dorm."
Trinket nods in response.
"I say it's perfect for her," Epel says.
"Yeah. Come on Trinket, let's get some seeds so we can have our personal garden," Grim says.
Trinket tinks and smiles.
Trinket then chooses a couple of flower seeds while Grim picks some seeds for fruits and vegetables.
Briar then purchased the seeds, along with a few supplies for gardening.
Grim laughs with excitement, "Myahaha, there! All bought and paid for!"
"You know, now that I've found Rook the perfect souvenir… I should probably get something for Vil, too. Wouldn't want my housewarden feeling neglected," Epel says, "That said...Vil's tastes are SO particular," then turns to Deuce, "Oh— Deuce, would your mom have any ideas?"
"Maybe. I'll message her and see," Deuce says and types a message on his phone, "'What would make a good present for Vil Schoenheit?'" and sends it, "Aaand...sent."
"We're lucky that Vil is world-famous," Epel says.
Soon, Deuce receives the message, "...Ah, she messaged back. 'What about a fragrance?'"
"Hm... I don't know. Picking one that can meet Vil's standards seems hard," Epel says.
"And fragrances are really expensive anyway," Ortho says.
Epel is shocked, "Th-they are?! I had no idea."
"Huh, Mom definitely would've taken that into account though… She texted a shop she recommends. Should we go and have a look?" Deuce says.
"Can't hurt…" Epel says.
