Fair enough Zuzu, I guess that would only lead to more questions than answers, and also good point Dan, you're improving a lot but Declan is in a league of his own... though don't sell yourself short you can still pull off a win eventually... maybe not yet but you'll eventually be able to. Just like most protagonists you'll eventually overcome your rival.
As for this chapter, well it seems that Hector needs to keep things secret for now but with everything he saw and how Declan is erasing the memories of Kit, Dipper, and Julia there are secrets being kept that he's going to end up revealing or acting on one way or another. Also do I detect a hint of romantic feelings from Hector towards Julia? At the very least he cares deeply enough to act on her behalf. As for Dan, a friend gave him a mishmash of cards intoning Number 107? Fair enough but that same deck somehow mysteriously appeared... there's definitely something strange going on here. A duel underground though is definitely a unique touch for Dan's next opponent, and it does make sense that ancient relics or artifacts would be found underground. Hopefully there isn't anything like the Millennium Items there though. A bit odd that the elder is so anxious about Elijah dueling though... if he's already qualified one more duel shouldn't be that much of an issue... seems a bit suspicious. Sora creeping out everyone with that mummy detail was also... yeah, and Elijah seems a bit overly confident and arrogant... at least how he starts the duel. Though of course Shay has to spy on Dan when he decides to unleash his Fusion Deck... that's not going to cause any issues whatsoever... not at all. Though the Artifact Deck does require some skill to use effectively. And it looks like Elijah can do just that, bringing out Durendal and using its abilities together with Artifacts Unleashed to Xyz Summon on Dan's turn definitely will push him into a corner. A nice touch from Dan to use Ritual and I'm sure Aura appreciates her favored mechanic getting more love. Sora also definitely respects that certain duelist and her strength... even if she's a traitor he likely still respects her... enemy respect is a thing after all. Though a minor nitpick is that Lord of the Red is level 8 but it doesn't change the duel. As for that final attack... it was definitely impressive and Dan dealt a very powerful blow though it was a bit of luck that he got Burning Barrel but then again luck is a part of dueling and he also got Miracle when it wouldn't help so it balances out. Though Shay is going to want Dan's head at this point... I just hope his agreement with Declan will keep him from doing anything too rash. ... And I spoke too soon, and as skilled as Dan is I don't see any way he can beat Shay who has powerful cards Dan likely hasn't ever seen before. This is going to be very bad. Awesome chapter, looking forward to the update.

As far a question for this chapter... I guess I'll ask Sora one: Do you think there's any chance you could beat Dan if the situation calls for it? He's not an ally from Duel Academy and if it becomes necessary he'll likely oppose you... so do you think you have any hope against a master of seemingly every mechanic except Pendulum?
Sora: Well that be tough to answer... as I will have Pendulum cards in the fic, and some new toys (no pun intended), I'm not sure. So the answer is gonna have to be... no? Probably? If he's that versatile, I think the only ones who can beat him are the three Kings of Duel Academy.
Now back onto the plot of the original story with a duel from the original now being remade. Dan vs Shay like you all asked for in the past is taking place here once more. Dan, and Shay had gotten some new cards over the years including that CERTAIN monster Shay now has. Dan also combines his Hieratic, and Galaxy-Eyes Decks where now he is using both in place of using one, or the other, and one of them will be neglected. It will be hard since the Decks don't exactly align with each other but I hope they can work well after practicing it.
And of course, there is a lot of people who came to my side, and supported me over the years, and Ulrich is one of them who had helped me out of a lot of troubled times. Despite our faults, and that we argue with each other, a lot I would do anything for him. So Ulrich, the dueling theme for this match is for you.
Summary: Dan is confronted by Shay during the night, and was forced to accept a Duel from him with nothing but his recently created Deck of the Galaxy-Eyes, and Hieratics. Nothing else to do as Shay isn't willing to listen to reason, Dan decides to try convincing Shay by dueling him. During this match, Shay, and Dan surprise each other, and didn't held back the power of Xyz that the two had mastered together, Shay with his use of Rank-Up-Magics, and Dan's ability use the Galaxy-Eyes, and Numbers that Shay is familiar with. Within the duel's ending, someone appears towards Dan, and had explained that she is the one responsible for bringing him to this world.

Let the duel commence!
Right now it is a rather tense match at night. Dan is against this guy named Shay Obsidian who seems keen on making Dan pay for something he isn't sure what exactly. He is also using a Deck he had finished building recently, and he had wanted to try using it against a practice opponent but it doesn't seem like there couldn't be a practice opponent like Shay here, and he looks real angry to him. But about what though, he said he stole Galaxy-Eyes but what exactly is he talking about? Well in this match he will find out soon.
Dan 1st Turn:
"Since you challenged me, I will go first!" Dan spoke to Shay who only stares at him while Dan checks his hand. He has Double Spell, Galactikuriboh, Luminous Dragon Ritual, Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb, and Paladin of Photon Dragon. It isn't often he gets a Ritual Monster, and Ritual Spell at the starting hand but hey at least it helps out whenever he has it. He has spent a lot of time, and effort creating this new Deck, and he will make sure it will work whenever he needs it. So he decided his first move by taking some cards. "I start with, Luminous Dragon Ritual!" A spell card shows a knight on a dragon raising a spear of white light inside a hole in front of Dan.

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Paladin of Photon Dragon". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal exactly 4. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; banish monsters from your Graveyard whose total Levels equal exactly 4, and Special Summon 1 "Paladin of Photon Dragon" from your hand after that. (This Special Summon is treated as a Ritual Summon.)
"By sacrificing monsters who's Levels equal to 4, I can summon a Ritual Monster!" Dan reveals Gebeb's card before sending it to the graveyard. "And my choice is Level 4, Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb!" Gebeb appeared as a light shine enveloped it before vanishing as a ritual circle appeared in front of Dan shining bright.
"Shining Knight of the Galactic Light! Be formed from this one sacrifice, and from the cosmos be reborn into the guardian that shall take the shape of the Embodiment of the Galactic Universe! Ritual Summon! Level 4, Paladin of Photon Dragon!"
Materializing from the ritual circle was a small monster like the other Paladin of Dragons, and this one is unique. The dragon is shaped as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, except it's on four legs instead of being bipedal with a darker body. The knight on him is white, and gold armored with a blue scarf around his neck, and is holding a spear that's golden bladed with two prongs on it alongside a silver body.

This made Shay narrow his eyes in hatred. So he also has access to summon Photon Dragon using its Ritual Summoning counterpart. He had seen Dan Ritual Summon a few hours ago, and this further confirmed he's a thief if he can use this Ritual Monster inside a Deck that involves summoning high-leveled dragons for powerful plays. Well he will make this kid regret stealing Galaxy-Eyes, and disguising himself as an Xyz Duelist soon enough.
"And now the effect of the Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb from the graveyard activates!" Dan's graveyard glowed bright as he took his Deck showing a card. "Since I just Tributed it, I can then summon a Hieratic from my Deck, hand, or graveyard as long as the monster I summon is a Normal Monster! So come on out, Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord!" The Hieratic Seal appeared on the ground in front of him as the Dragon Seal rose from the ground onto the field.

"After that, I activate, Paladin of Photon Dragon's effect!" Paladin of Photon Dragon vanishes as Dan takes a card from his Deck. He reveals it as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. "By sacrificing it, I can summon this card from my Deck!" He places the card on his Duel Disk while the key appears that he takes, throwing it in the air as it begins forming.
"Embodiment of the Galactic Universe! Appear here, and now before us to defend all who threaten the known universe! Come out, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
Forming was Galaxy-Eyes as it roared loud above Dan against Shay with Hieratic Seal beside it.

Shay grunted as he stared over at the card. He knows this will be tough as this card is the perfect counter to all Xyz Monsters, and can't be beaten in one on one combat. He needs to be careful against this dragon, he doesn't think this kid can use it as well as it's original wielder but he should know how to use it. But while he is thinking this Dan raised an arm. "Now I overlay Level 8 Galaxy-Eyes, and Hieratic Seal!" The two glowed golden flying up into the Overlay Network above as Shay stares in thinking Dan is summoning Prime Photon Dragon. But he summons something else...
"The Dragon of Time will rise here for the protection of the innocent! May this dragon go back through time, and focus on using Time Travel for its friends! Xyz Summon! Rank 8, Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!"
A purple 107 appeared before rising up onto the field was some sort of jewel-like configuration like a black upside-down pyramid, with a formation on top of the square and blue and red panels on opposite triangle sides. Then it started to unfold to start looking like a new monster roaring into a large dragon having black plated armor, and joints alongside yellow eyes folded wings with the same blue glow as it's sealed for alongside diamonds around its body. It also has long tails, and a purple 107 on the side of its armor helmet.

At another part of the city Yuto was waiting for Shay to come back as he had been gone for a while from him needing to tell him about something regarding their common enemy. He wonders what exactly Shay needs to talk to him about as it seemed LID also has some enemies regarding the Fusion Dimension, and the name Leo Akaba from the son personally coming to Shay, and talking to him after he had defeated those three kids that had found him within an OTK using Astral Force. Yuto knows that the people who had given Shay the card will never approve of the way Shay used it, but right now he will do anything to find Lulu, and hopes what Shay wants to-
Suddenly he perked up when he, and his dragon, not Arc Rebellion, sensed something powerful had just manifested. Usually it was low power signatures or medium power signatures each time that this Fusion Spy that Shay spoke of duel with his Xyz Deck starting with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and it's Number form. But this time was different... it also feels like a Galaxy-Eyes, but this one feels stronger like it is something that classes Photon Dragon while also feeling a surge of energy familiar to him from his time living room. This energy it feels like...
"This power..." Yuto suddenly widens his eyes when he realizes what it was. "Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!?" He better go see where this is coming from, Shay have probably sensed this as well so he should already head where it was.
Speaking of Shay he was staring at the newly summoned monster stunned out of his mind. This monster... this Fusion Spy had stolen even this!? Tachyon Dragon who belonged to the rival of the strongest duelist of the Xyz Dimension as well for the title of Galaxy-Eyes Master!? Unforgivable! That does it, he will make this Fusion Spy pay with all he has no matter what! That is a promise!
"I end my turn!" With only 2 spells that he can't use right now Dan ended his turn with only Tachyon Dragon on his field. It's probably his most favorite version of the Galaxy-Eyes cards. There are monsters like the original Photon Dragon, Prime Photon, and Neo Photon, but Tachyon Dragon is something he holds dear to him. He gives equal treatment towards all the others, he doesn't discriminate but he loves using Tachyon Dragon as it doesn't focus on using the Overlay Units of his opponent's monsters, and has a powerful effect to use that messes with time itself. It feels good to use it for real now, especially since he lost it before he came to this world. Now he wants to keep using it like this for a long time while he's here.

"You... you..." Dan blinked seeing the way Shay was trembling with a clenched hand shaking. He doesn't know what Shay is so angry about, sure he has some legendary cards, but thinking he stole them, and disguising himself as an Xyz Duelist is too baseless of an accusation. He wants answers to why Shay thinks he stole them. "You really are so shameless aren't you...? You even stole Tachyon Dragon as well? How low do you need to go to disguise yourself?"
"I didn't steal anything! I got them from booster packs or a friend!"
"Cards like those don't come from booster packs!" Shay snapped with a glare towards Dan who blinked from this. "I will show you the true power of an Xyzian! I draw!" He draws to start his turn. His words weren't lost to Dan which confuses him. Xyzian? What's a Xyzian? He doesn't have much time to think however as Shay looks at his drawn card, and places it on the field. "I summon to my hand, Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius!"
Emerging from the summoning was a falcon shaping as the other Raidraptors but it has a yellow body as opposed to the black/blue scheme they usually have with a headset of headphones, and a microphone on its head. It has blue energy through its body, and high working exhaust fans on its wings to give it flight despite the extra weight on its body alongside something blue at the bottom. It is the same Raidraptor from Raidraptor - Roost in Shay's duel against Kit, Julia, and Dipper.

'Raidraptor?' Dan almost didn't recognize the name, recalling his match with Yuto who had used a monster called Raider's Knight that can summon an Xyz Monster from one of three separate archetypes, The Phantom Knights, Xyz Dragon, or Raidraptor. Does this mean, Shay here is a comrade of Yuto's? He must be if he has a card that Raider's Knight can be used for.
"Then, I use the effect of Raidraptor - Pain Lanius in my hand!" Shay reveals a card in his hand. "By taking the Attack Points of Mimicry Lanius as damage, I can summon this card from my hand with the same level!" (Shay: 2900/Hand: 5) He puts the card on his Duel Disk as another summoning appeared beside Mimicry Lanius as a second bird rose up cawing loud.
This one looks more mechanical than a beast with its beige, and green alongside folding wings with 5 red orbs acting as eyes on its head with blue green orbs on its chest, wings, and claws on its feet alongside gold fittings around its body as decorations.

"Two Level 5s using monsters that are different in level?" Dan will admit this guy is good, willing to place himself in risk by damaging himself like that, and also bringing two monsters to the same Level despite being different without the use of Spell or Trap cards. But he can't summon Raider's Knight now but he should expect that what he uses these two for should be worth that.
Shay raises up a hand. "I now Overlay Level 5 Mimicry Lanius, and Pain Lanius in order to build the Overlay Network!" The two falcons glowed purple flying straight into the Overlay Network in front of him as it glowed bright forming into a new monster.
"Brave avian of the oppressed, ready your wings for you to incite the flames of the revolution! Xyz Summon! Rank 5, Raidraptor - Brave Strix!"
What formed on the field was a large light blue falcon with large wings shaping as an owl like Force Strix but not the same with green orbs over the mechanical parts of its wings, and body, and a large yellow orb as a single eye on its face. It also has 2 mechanical talons on its feet cawing loud.

Dan only gets a moment to stare as Shay continues his move. "I use Brave Strix's ability! By using an Overlay Unit, I use one of its 2 abilities only once this turn! As it has a Winged Beast as an Overlay Unit, I take a Rank-Up-Magic Spell card to my hand!" Shay takes a card revealing it towards Dan. Brave Strix meanwhile takes an Overlay Unit like Shay had used.

His opponent's eyes widened in shock when he heard this. Rank-Up-Magic? This guy can use Rank-Up-Magic like so many characters within the ZEXAL anime? But how...? Wait, he said before, the full power of an Xyzian... by Xyzian does that make Shay... a member of the ZEXAL era? But how? He never heard of this guy, or Yuto before within the ZEXAL era, so it should be impossible for them to be a part of the story... but how does it explain both of them are here, and using Rank-Up-Magic cards?
"Then I activate the effect of Mimicry Lanius in my graveyard!" Shay added as he shows the card before he pockets it. "By banishing this card from my graveyard, the turn it's sent to the graveyard, I can take a Raidraptor card, and add it to my hand!" He takes a card revealing it's a trap adding it to his hand. So he adds 2 cards for the price of 1 Overlay Unit if that is the case. That's not even the worse part. "I then activate, Rank-Up-Magic Raid Force!" The spell he had added which shows of a heavily modified version of the Raidraptor crest appeared.

Emerging from the large flames was Revolution Falcon as its eyes glowed from it, and burst out cawing loud onto the field ready against Tachyon Dragon.

"Rank 6 at turn one..." Dan stares over towards Revolution Falcon feeling it's a powerful monster just from the look, and the stance it has right now. He isn't sure what this card can do, but it must be a powerful one if Shay summons it as strong as it is here with a Rank-Up-Magic. He also notices that it's gaining strength.
Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon: (ATK: 2000 + (100 * 6) = 2600)
"Due to the effect of Brave Strix as its an Overlay Unit for a Raidraptor, the monster summoned from it gains 100 Attack Points for every Rank, Revolution Falcon has which is 6." Shay first explained how it managed to gain ATK like that. He then pointed over towards Tachyon Dragon. "And something like Tachyon Dragon doesn't deserve to be in your hands! I activate, Revolution Falcon's ability!" Revolution Falcon takes an Overlay Unit as it charges up a concentrated blast towards Tachyon Dragon.

"By using an Overlay Unit, Tachyon Dragon is destroyed, and you take damage equal to half of the Attack Points of it!" Dan looked shocked at this as Revolution Falcon fired the blast that pierced through Tachyon Dragon as it roared loud in agony, destroyed easily while Dan was pushed some feet but didn't get off his feet. (Dan: 2500/Hand: 2) "Now you are finished like the fake you are! Revolution Falcon attacks him directly!" Revolution Falcon charges in towards Dan intending to finish him off.
But Dan isn't done yet. "I activate Galactikuriboh's effect in my hand!" A kuriboh popped up that resembles Photon Dragon giving its signature kuri cries while Shay blinked, never seeing this card before. "When you make an attack, I can discard this little guy, and summon a familiar card!" A card slipped from his Deck that he took revealing the original Photon Dragon's card that he placed onto the field. "Come on back to the field, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" Quickly forming was Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon roaring as Revolution Falcon stopped its charge at Dan.

"Then as an Xyz Monster is on the field, Galactikuriboh becomes that monster's Overlay Unit!" The Kuriboh turned to purple energy flying over, and joined the Brace Strix Overlay Unit onto Revolution Falcon.

"And lastly, your attack is changed where you're forced to attack the newly summoned Photon Dragon!" Galaxy-Eyes roared over towards Revolution Falcon who cannot stop its attack charging over at the dragon which Shay scowled, unable to do anything to stop this attack. And although it's stronger than Revolution Falcon, Dan doesn't want any surprises so he snapped his fingers. "And now I activate Photon Dragon's ability! Photon Escape!" Both battling monsters vanished from the field while Brave Strix, and Galactikuriboh both went to their respective duelists' graveyards. "Both of the monsters battling are banished, and at the end of the battle, they return!" Both Revolution Falcon, and Galaxy-Eyes popped up on the field together with the difference between Revolution Falcon having no Overlay Units, or an increase of ATK.

How could there exist a Kuriboh that can assist, and power up Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon just like that? Not only be a surefire way to cheat it out but also make it stronger if it battles an Xyz Monster all at one go. Shay has never seen the card before, and he knows that the strongest Duelist in the Xyz Dimension never uses it, so how does this kid come in possession of it? No matter, it won't make a difference, if anything it only postponed the revolution that Shay will bring onto it. Right now he needs to deal with Galaxy-Eyes with 4000 points, and he knows just how to do that. "Fine then, in that case I activate Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force!" He raised his next card up with it glowing bright.

Appearing from the Overlay Network was a larger falcon that seemed stronger then the previous ones not in terms of ATK either. It is red, and white armored around equipped with cannons on its wings alongside 2 adjusted ones on its body alongside some plated gold armor on some parts with a black body under the armor. It also has a large blue-green energy like core on it's body as it cawed loud ready on the field.

He takes the card revealing it towards Dan who widens his eyes stepping back a little. "I activate Satellite Cannon Falcon's effect! By using an Overlay Unit, Galaxy-Eyes loses 800 points for every Raidraptor that's in my graveyard!" Satellite Cannon Falcon takes Overlay Unit as it charges its cannons, forming them into the Raidraptor Crest as the current Raidraptors in his graveyard flew up charging the cannons.

What is the point of that move though? It doesn't make a difference what the ATK of Galaxy-Eyes is as long as it has its ability to banish a monster it's ATK will be restored back to normal, and it can't be beaten in one on one battles due to that. Maybe it's to have Satellite Cannon Falcon not have any Overlay Units so Galax-Eyes can't power up? No, that can't be it... something isn't right, Dan is sure that something really is up. Suddenly the answer came to him. "Wait a minute..." The card that Shay used before using that effect, he used it to recover Astral Force. Does that mean that Shay's-
"I then activate, Astral Force again!" Shay raised the Rank-Up-Magic in his hand as it glowed bright from being activated a second time. "I further evolve Satellite Cannon Falcon into a monster with the same Type, and Attribute but 2 Ranks higher! Go Rank-Up Xyz Evolution!" Satellite Cannon Falcon glowed bright flying up into the Overlay Network as it exploded hard into a new monster.

Rising up onto the field was a large falcon having golden folded blades wings alongside a golden beak. It also has blueish-black plated armor on its form with red orbs around its body while the one at the chest area is blue with a red Raidraptor's crest onto it. It also has a large golden circle behind it almost like, Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon alongside a bottom tail that has wedges alongside golden orbs on it formed below with an almighty caw.

3 Rank-Ups, Rank 5, 6, 8, and 10, and powerful summons at turn 1... Dan couldn't believe this kind of power, and ability that Shay has up his sleeves. If he really is a duelist from the ZEXAL era, then he probably proves that true. Maybe even be bold by saying he can even beat Don Thousand, Kite, Shark, Yuma, and Astral also... probably not all of them, but from how this is looking, he can't help but wonder if he can beat all five of those mentioned people. If he has Astral Force, and the ability to use it numerous times a round, then it's not impossible.
"I place 2 cards face-down, and end my turn." Shay doesn't have much else to use so he sets 2 cards to end this turn for now. But he can still fight harder. "And this activates Ultimate Falcon's ability! As it has a Raidraptor as an Overlay Unit, all of your monsters lose 1000 points!" Gravity pulsed over Galaxy-Eyes roared loud from the effect further weakening it.

From 4000 all the way to 600 in a single turn... what an ironic turn of fate that is. Shay then glares over to Dan. "You may have stopped the flames of rebellion for this turn, but next turn, you won't avoid it!" Dan grunted knowing this isn't gonna get easier... if he doesn't do something against Shay here this turn, then Shay can do serious damage or worse towards him. So he needs to depend on this next draw... this Deck might be a new one but it's something he can definitely depend on if needed.

Now that Gong said it, Dan has been gone for a while. It can't have taken this long to clear his head, and get some fresh air. Yuya is worried as well, Dan just needs one more duel to win to qualify for the Arc-League Championship, and from what Nico spoke that will be difficult to get at this point. Still Yuya thinks He can qualify in time, so he doesn't need to worry... but how come something doesn't feel right? In fact a little bit ago, he had felt a surge of energy. It wasn't anything too worrisome so he had decided to ignore it, but something's not right.
"The little buddy does need a while to clear his mind." Sora spoke over and was just as suspicious. He wants to ask Dan a lot of questions when they are alone when he is sure his true colors will be revealed but not yet at this point. He also had sensed some energy that he can't really place. It's making him worry if he should go out to try finding Dan. He can't worry too much; he knows Dan will succeed in the next duel he will have, if all of the things he can do are any indication.
"Should we go look for him?" Like the three of them, Zuzu is also concerned that Dan is taking this long to clear his mind. Unlike them, she felt a strong surge of energy, and wanted to see what it was but was afraid if it was Shay encountering her again. Why is she holding back when Dan is out there? "We need to see if we can find him. Shay, and Yuto are still out there." She had told them all of her encounter with Yuto, and what she heard from him at his home including Shay, and Lulu. And if Shay is doing something from this surge it can't be anything good.
"Would they really be interested in Dan though?" Yuya can still recall that he had seen Yuto's duel with Dan, and he had completely crushed him. And Yuto should have nothing against Dan anymore after he had dueled him, and defeated him. So why would they go after Dan now? "We had seen how Yuto did against him. They wouldn't get anything by dueling him-" He suddenly froze when they all sensed something... powerful, and unimaginable. They all ran over towards the window seeing a large light in the distance as they can make the shape of Ultimate Falcon.
"Uh, are we seeing this too?" Allie looked nervous if she was the only one who could see this.
"No, Allie, you aren't." Tate confirmed she isn't also nervous.
"That looks to be the direction Dan was heading!" Yoko realizes where it was coming from, it was in Dan's direction. "He must be in danger right now!"
"After Yuto, someone else confronted him at night!?"
"We better go!" Zuzu spoke to her friends while her father said that they all nodded exiting the house to quickly head to the direction of the duel.

Right now Dan is at a major disadvantage. Shay certainly is overwhelming him with really powerful monsters, and he is struggling against him with these powerful Rank-Ups. Now Shay has a Rank 10 with 3500 points against him, and who knows what else. Well Dan needs to be careful, one bad move, and it will spell bad news. "Okay, my turn to draw!" He checked his drawn card which was Defense Draw. A useful card for later. So he turned over for the next best thing. "Battle! Galaxy-Eyes attack Ultimate Falcon!" Photon Dragon charges in towards Ultimate Falcon as it caws loudly against Photon Dragon before Dan raises an arm. "Photon Dragon's effect activates, Photon Escape! Both our monsters are banished until the end of the Battle Phase!" Galaxy-Eyes vanished but Ultimate Falcon didn't leave the field that Dan blinked at. "Huh? Ultimate Falcon isn't banished?"
"Ultimate Falcon is unaffected by card effects except its own."
That kind of effect immunity? That means Photon Dragon's effect can't work on it for it to quickly regain strength. But that doesn't mean it wasn't for nothing. "Well now Photon Dragon comes back to the field!" Galaxy-Eyes appeared back on the field with its complete 3000 ATK.

Taking its only Overlay Unit, Ultimate Falcon charged up more gravity pressurizing around Galaxy-Eyes further weakening it which dropped it to a knee unable to take much more of the pressure.

Dan grunted as Shay then pointed ahead. "Battle! Ultimate Falcon attacks Galaxy-Eyes!" Ultimate Falcon charges in towards Galaxy-Eyes intending to finish this.
Dan isn't gonna let it happen like that though. "I activate the effect of Galactikuriboh in my graveyard! By banishing it a Galaxy, or Photon monster is safe from destruction!" The attack blasted over at Galaxy-Eyes who roared loud from the attack striking it but wasn't destroyed due to Galactkuriboh. For the other hand Dan pointed over. "Then I activate Defense Draw!" A face-down rose revealing the defensive trap showing a guard taking a blast while a hand seems to be drawing a card.

Dan kept staring at the card he had drawn. It's not often he gets this card, let alone use it in his hand as Xyz doesn't get a good focus these days. The times he does manage to use, it's really lucky times. The fact he managed to draw it, and now has the conditions to use it really surprises him. He then gave a soft smile. "My Deck... thank you for always helping me out." He drew his new card checking to see what card it was, which is, Hieratic Seal of Creation before then taking the card he drew with Defense Draw. "I activate Rank-Up-Magic Admiration of the Thousands!" A Rank-Up-Magic card showing an emblem with different colored gems all over appeared.

They both then glowed a gold, and purple aura respectively flying up towards the Overlay Network, and it shattered while Dan called. "Go, Chaos Xyz Evolution!"
"Dragon of Time, and Space! Be reborn to defend the Value of Time by transcending to the far reaches of the Galaxy! Chaos Xyz Change! Rank 9, Chaos Number 107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!"
Emerging up was a larger, more slender, and longer version of the pyramid configuration that Tachyon Dragon was in before except it's golden with pink chaotic energy on the triangles with spikes on the top alongside a formation puzzle. Then it began unfolding like before with Tachyon Dragon forming into a three headed golden armored dragon with red eyes, and red energy triangles over its body with three folded tails, and wings humming in golden energy, and diamond like things around the bottom of it roaring loudly beside Photon Dragon. in front of it were 2 emblem like Overlay Units glowing in chaotic pink energy.

Shay looked more shocked. Now he has Tachyon Dragon's evolved form as well? If the original user saw this, alongside the cards used to summon it, he was sure he would have a big meltdown, and in a bad way. Plus it has the ATK to stand up against Ultimate Falcon which makes it a big threat at hand. Dan raised an arm to start the countdown. "I activate Neo Tachyon Dragon's ability! By using a Chaos Overlay Unit, the effects of all other cards are negated, and you cannot activate the effects of cards on the field! Time Tyrant!" One of Neo Tachyon's Chaos Overlay Units was absorbed as it charged energy inverting color all around everything.

Shay grunted from this, needing to focus as he called. "I activate my face-down, Raidraptor - Glorious Bright!" A trap which shows of, Ultimate Falcon seeming to use some sort of glowing purple orb flipped up.

The inverted colors died as Neo Tachyon Dragon lost it's glow.

Dan frowned from this. This would mean he can't stop Shay's effects now. But he still has the advantage by having higher ATK here so he decides to take it. "Okay, Neo Tachyon attack Ultimate Falcon! Ultimate Tachyon Spiral of Destruction!" Neo Tachyon charges a large triple burst attack before blasting over towards Ultimate Falcon which struck home onto it destroyed without mercy while Shay raised an arm to defend himself. (Shay: 1900/Hand: 2) "And now Photon Dragon attack him directly! Photon Stream of Destruction!" Galaxy-Eyes charged a large blast firing it over as Shay was hit pushed back but didn't falter as he glared over. (Shay: 0900/Hand: 2) Since Dan can't use, Hieratic Seal of Creation from Admiration of the Thousands, preventing him from doing so Dan just ended his turn. All he has is Hieratic Seal of Creation, and Double Spell... maybe he will get a spell or something next turn to use Double Spell, if he can.

He didn't use this as Photon Dragon would banish itself, and what he summons, and he needs something other than Ultimate Falcon to use it on.

"Now, it is time for you to regret all you have done... with the full rage of the Xyz Dimension onto you!" Xyz Dimension? "By going beyond the limits of what we had before!" He raised the card up high to activate it. "I activate Rise Rank-Up-Magic Raidraptor's Force!" A new spell showing the Raidraptor crest but as some type of monster was shown.

"This card is like your Admiration of the Thousands but with a few differences! First I need to have a monster on my field to use it!" Shay starts explaining what the card can do. "Next, I only target monsters in my graveyard! And lastly, instead of 1 rank above, I can summon a Raidraptor whose rank is the combined total of the Ranks of the Xyz Monsters I use from my graveyard, and field!" After he finished explaining Yuto had finally arrived to see Brave Strix alongside Satellite Cannon Falcon from the graveyard flying up onto the Overlay Network while Dan stares in shock. "Go Rank-Up Xyz Evolution!"

Emerging up was probably the largest falcon anyone has ever seen, probably even larger, and bigger then Ultimate Falcon who is already a large monster. In fact to be bold, it looked like a God itself from the way it's shaped, and looked from purple plated armor large wings as arms like the other Raidraptors having golden blades onto the wings large amount of cannons around its body, and having a waist, and actual legs like a human's. It also has red eyes, a large golden beak, and on its chest, and wings were red Raidraptor crests on the orbs before it released a large caw as falcons flew around as if being signaled.

Dan had thought the Rank 13 stuff was over with the end of ZEXAL but apparently not, Rank 13 monsters are not a new concept but always something that is so unbelievable. And this one isn't used by a Godlike Deity like Eliphas, and Don Thousand, it was used by Shay who compared to them is a mortal. A mortal with Godlike abilities in dueling seems... wait is he getting off-track, and overthinking this?
Nope, one look at that monster confirms he isn't overthinking it.
"Rank 13... how is that possible again?" This seems to defy all of the rules of Duel Monsters just by existing as Rank 13, Level 13 monsters even, don't exist, or aren't that common most of the time. If Shay really does have one then Dan is in a lot of trouble.
"I activate, Rising Rebellion Falcon's special ability! I use 3 Overlay Units to have it gain the effects of a Raidraptor Xyz Monster in my graveyard!" He would use the first effect but to Dan, Shay feels he doesn't deserve such an easy punishment not for all he had stolen, the audacity to lie, and being shameless too. No he was gonna make sure Dan gets mangled into hell, and back 500 times over! Rising Rebellion Falcon takes the three units as Revolution Falcon appeared above it.

Realizing what he's gonna do Yuto tries to stop him. "Shay stop! Have you lost your mind!?" Dan turned over towards him, surprised to see the guest, and recognized him. It was the same boy who had dueled him all those days ago. So Shay is a comrade of Yuto... maybe he can talk to Shay out of this.
"Someone as shameless as he is doesn't deserve any mercy stay out of my way Yuto!" Shay raised an arm. "And now, Rising Rebellion Falcon ATTACK!" Rising Rebellion Falcon charged cannons as it aimed towards Dan's Neo Tachyon Dragon blasting over. "And now your monster loses all its points!" From that Neo Tachyon roared loud as it was quickly weakened powering down fast.

"Finish this!"
Rising Rebellion Falcon charged cannon blasts firing over striking past Neo Tachyon as it roared, tanking all of the blasts as Dan yelled out raising his arms to try shielding himself as the blasts approached him. Suddenly a light shield erected in front of him that blocked the cannon blasts as Rising Rebellion Falcon kept up the pressure which eventually destroyed Neo Tachyon relentlessly, and let out a large explosion mushroom cloud at where Dan is.

Yuto stares at the destruction where Dan was stunned, and in disbelief... has Shay really been driven to this point? To cause the death of an innocent kid? Even to the one he had dueled himself, and judged him an innocent bystander... he knows Shay would do anything to get Lulu back but to this extent...
Shay stares over where Dan was at taking some breaths. This duel really took a great deal out of him. Rising Rebellion Falcon was hard to summon, and called for a lot of energy to use like he had. Well now the Fusion Spy is dead, all of his actions are repentant from stealing Galaxy-Eyes, pretending to be a fellow Xyzian, and spying for the Fusionites.
But when the smoke cleared both of their eyes widened with what they were seeing. Dan was perfectly fine but unconscious. The area around him was caved in with a crater but the one he was laying on is perfectly in fact like he is. This was really surprising, he had no card effect, no shield, or anything for that matter to block that amount of damage, but something had rescued him from certain death.
"...What!? How is that possible? There was nothing defending him!" Eventually after getting out of his shock Shay sneered as he stepped up a bit exhausted but can still move fine and walked over towards Dan. "Fine... if you won't die, then I will have you be two Dimensional." He readied his Duel Disk, and moved to press a button to seal Dan into a card like the coward he was.
By then Yuto decided enough was enough, and he ran over. "Shay! Stop!" He takes Shay's arm to prevent him from sealing Dan grabbing on his Duel Disk arm.
"Let me go, Yuto!"
"You already are causing enough trouble right now! Any more would compromise the agreement you made with Akaba's son!" Yuto argued over towards him with a glare. He struggles as Shay is trying to free his arm from him. "Dan isn't even a Fusionite, don't you realize that by now!?"
"You saw, and heard what I told you about him!" Shay freed his arm but didn't move back in position like before glaring towards Yuto. Doesn't he understand that Dan is their enemy, and a rather important one at that, that must be dealt with right now? "He stole Galaxy-Eyes, has Admiration of the Thousands, can also Fusion, and Ritual Summon as well! What more proof do you need for you to understand he's the enemy!?"
"I dueled him myself. Shay, he is not like them!" Yuto snapped back trying to have Shay understand the gravity of what had almost happened. Not only will they lose the trust, and lead they have from Declan, but the death of an innocent will be in their hands. The Leo Students are already innocent enough but sealing them into cards is very different then committing actual murder! "I asked him myself, he doesn't know anything about the Fusion Dimension! He was also honest with me, he doesn't have much experience with the Hieratic Deck-"
"That makes it even more reason to suspect him!"
"Would you just SHUT UP!?" Shay flinched with widened eyes, never hearing Yuto shout at him like that. There were times where they fought a lot, they often do that even a little more ever since Lulu was kidnapped by a Fusionite. Although they never escalated where Yuto would actually shout at him. Usually he calms Shay down by punching his gut. "Dan is not with the Fusion Dimension, he doesn't know anything about our battle with them, he doesn't use his Xyz Deck all that much, and he has potential but shouldn't get involved in this!" He glared at Shay as he kept this barrage up. "I know, you would do anything to get Lulu back from Duel Academy, but killing people is NOT the answer! Sealing duelists into cards is already bad enough but trying to kill them too all for Lulu's sake!? That's not right! Yuma, Astral, everyone else are counting on us to get Lulu back but all the things you're doing using the cards they trust you with are stomping on that trust! Astral Force to hurt others, and now trying to use Rising Rebellion Falcon to kill an innocent!? Everyone, even Lulu wouldn't forgive you for doing those things! You need to stop this now before you do something you will regret!"
Shay stares over towards him from this being silent for a moment. Now that Yuto has shouted towards him, his mind begins clearing from the actions he is doing. He looked down towards his hands seeing them shaking. Hearing all of that from Yuto is making him think about what his sister would've wanted if he wanted to rescue her. That actually made him think of his time battling the Fusion Dimension, and sealing them in cards themselves, and now from getting a wake up call from Yuto he's not feeling things he hadn't felt for them. Feeling horrible, sad, scared, and most importantly...
...Guilt.
Shay upon realizing he's feeling guilt started to have tears before closing them shut turning around, and walked off. Yuto starred as he walked off knowing he needs some time to get over what he is feeling. Knowing for sure that Shay will be alright but needs some time to think about this Yuto turned over towards the unconscious Dan. He walked kneeling down towards him with a sad gaze. "Dan... I'm sorry, you had gotten involved in this incident. Please forgive me for not doing anything to protect you from Shay... I don't know the whole story but I know, you are not a member of Duel Academy. I hope we meet next time, we will be civil together." He then stood up when he senses things approaching as he stares at Dan before placing a card in his hand. "Take it as a peace offering." He turned away walking off following Shay as the camera moved down to the card Yuto had given him which was a trap called The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil.
Yuya, and the others arrived at last where Dan is after that explosion greatly worried them. Seeing where he is they all widen their eyes, each of them yelling his name running over, and checking over him. They looked over, and surprisingly from the damage around him, Dan wasn't harmed at all, just unconscious. Yuya also notices something... Dan has 6 wins on his Duel Disk. Did Dan win an official Duel just now? What kind of crazy duel was it, that could've dealt this much damage?
Well they can perhaps gets answers when he wakes up so they moved, and helped him off the ground as the card fell out of his hand. Zuzu sees the card Yuto placed in Dan's hand... did Yuto give this to him?
Dan slowly regained consciousness, groaning as he slowly sat up. "Oh man, that attack hit harder than I thought... Did I lose?" He opened his eyes before blinking, surprised seeing he is in a night meadow... actually inaccurate cause both the sun, and the moon are in the sky shining bright with flowers all around, the wind is softly breezing around, and birds are flying around the sky. What is happening right now? The sky is all wrong, and he is alone here right now... where is he at?
"You did... but that attack would've killed you, had I not interfered."
Hearing a gentle woman's voice he turned over where something formed beside him. He sees it as an immaterial spirit of pale yellow energy with features of her face, and having two hair pigtails like Zuzu's but they are longer than hers. He had never seen her before but he was surprised by her never expecting her. But hearing her voice triggered something in his head. A female voice spoke to her that she needs his help... could this be. "Are you... the one who brought me into Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V?" A nod confirmed his answer. So she's the person responsible for why he is in this world. She must also be the one who supplies him with cards to edit his Deck or even who made his Galaxy-Eyes Deck appear for him. "So... who are you?"
"My name... is Ray Akaba." the woman answered his question. Dan blinked when he heard the name Akaba. Ray just nodded as if to confirm this. "Yes, Declan, he is my little brother... or younger half-brother more accurately. But he doesn't know of my existence, and I would prefer to keep it that way for now." So Declan doesn't know about her... but why is that? Well Dan knows he can't exactly ask that question right now, he has more important things to ask her.
"So... where are we at?"
"You are inside your mind, and where my spirit lives on while I am still not whole." Ray explained towards him where they are at. She then kneeled down towards him. "Again, I apologize for dragging you into this... but right now, I am in need of your help. You are the only one from your own world who has managed to connect with me. I do not know why, but if you can help me we can undo hundreds of mistakes in the past together."
"So you like Atem? Or Astral from a different era to stop a powerful opponent from destroying everything?"
"Yes and no. Yes I am from a different world, but no technically, I'm not." Ray answered over to him before sitting down criss-crossing her legs. Dan joined her by sitting down like her as well. "I know, you have a lot of questions Dan, but right now we need to focus on the important things, I need to say to you. Exactly what it is I need your help on."
"What... is that?"
Ray's look got more serious as she stared at Dan. "A Demon Duelist."
Like I said before on the original, some guest requested for Dan to have a partner, and I didn't plan on one, but decided no reason why he shouldn't with Ray having a connection with Dan later on in the story, and no he isn't Zarc, and Ray's son like I spoke about before. Now we are onto here, I had intended for Dan to use Double Spell to use Astral Force for him to use Utopic Dragon, and use Hieratic Seal of Creation on Tachyon Dragon but had to sacrifice that as from the way the duel was going, it wasn't possible for Dan to do all of that. At least he had managed to use Admiration of the Thousands, and Shay uses Rising Rebellion Falcon.
And yeah, Shay also has access to Rising Rebellion Falcon as you had seen here just now. I think that since both Astral World, and Barian World use Rank 13 monsters themselves, that card would be from Astral or Barian origin as a way of giving Shay all the firepower he needs against the Fusion Dimension. But as you saw, he can also use it to harm or kill others, which was prevented this time from Yuto. He had gotten that talk he had from Dan earlier from Yuto this time but he will still be like he was to people who really are Fusionites such as Sora.
The Hieratic/Galaxy-Eyes combo Deck was hard, and difficult to put together but I had managed to crack the formula onto it. We will see more of it later, although I think we will only see this combo Deck only once. It was tricky to do, and it takes a lot of room for any changes that Ray will help Dan make later on down the line. So I apologize if anyone feels disappointed from this. But now we have Ray who has appeared earlier then canon to assist Dan, and now get to know why exactly she brought him here. Next chapter though will be a somewhat new chapter. It still takes place like in the original with the start of the Arc-League, but most of the event will instead focus on Zuzu. Be sure to ask questions, and be sure to review!
