The sound of metal against metal echoed through the whole museum as two forces went toe to toe against each other.
In the open most display area of the museum Toby, Arrrgh and Blinky tried their best to survive the heavy assault laid on by the gum-gum reinforcements that arrived along with Arthur and Bular. Bular was going head on with Arrrgh as they each tried to hit the other into submission but with Arrrgh being a little out of touch
"You used to be a great warrior general under my father, now your just a pathetic lump of stone! Disappointing!" Bular struck Arrrgh sending him flying into an exhibit
"Arrrgh!" Toby yelled as he cut the gum-gums in his path as he ran towards Arrrgh
Thud* Bular lands in front of Toby
"Well if it isn't the little Trollhunter?" Bular swang his fist down but was pushed back when a blue force repelled him
Toby still at the same spot holding his arms above his head but instead of fear, he stares at Bular with anger...
Toby put his arms into a battle stance with his left Infront, revealing that it had a shield on it and his right hand wielding Daylight!
"Let's do this!" Toby said as he stood ready waiting for Bular
"HAAAA!" Bular hit his fists against the ground and charged towards Toby...
Meanwhile in the hallway, Draal was rolling against the wall pushing Nomura back into another room, trying to corner her...
"This reminds me of New Jersey" Nomura said as she flipped onto a display case a few meters away from Draal.
"That was an idiotic period of my lifespan!"
"On that we can both agree"
Both Draal and Nomura lunged at each other...
Nomura kicked Draal in the face causing him to fall back and skidding on the floor, but he recovered just in time to evade a blade crashing down on his position.
Draal grabbed Nomura's arm and flung her into another room. Draal turning into a boulder and rolled towards the room when suddenly *BANG!*
Draal was knocked back sliding his claw against the floor to stop the momentum
At first he thought it was one of Nomura's tricks but as he looked he saw it came from another room and the sound from it sounded like to Gronglock Bulls Clashing their horns. The sound of each impact caused a shock in the floor but Draal didn't have time to get lost in the middle of a battle as Nomura came from the side and kick Draal through a column into the same space as Toby and the rest.
Inside the other room where the impact sounds originated from, was Jim and Arthur.
Arthur going in and out of shadow portals as Jim predicted almost every one of his tricks. Arthur came from behind Jim and swung down but Jim rose his blade and blocked the strike causing a force to push the already trashed room even more out of place as furniture flung against walls. Arthur's shadow mephits came from the side but Jim kicked Arthur wait and did a circular swing cutting the heads of each lizard. As Arthur almost hit a wall he vanished into another portal this time reappearing from the top. Jim jumped to the side as Arthur crashed into the ground with his blade.
"I'll cut you limbs off one by one!"
"You and I both know you can't do that without the approval of your leach holders, puppy" Jim mocked
"I! AM! NO! MUTT!" Arthur screamed as he charged and Jim met him half way
The clash caused another explosion type of force that caught the attention of even the other group outside. The sound echoed through the halls as everyone stopped for a second looking towards the direction of the sound
"Sounds like your buddy needs help in there" Toby said to Bular as he and Bular was also in a struggle push against each other
"Ahhhhh!" Bular screamed as he pushed harder, pushing Toby back. Toby jumped back and landed a few meters away from the troll, but quickly duck as he instinctively felt the need to. He then saw that it was Nomura who swung her blades behind him. He looked to see Draal unconscious as Arrrgh was holding off gum-gums and Blinky trying to awaken Draal.
"Let's see if the trollhunter is as good as advertised" Nomura teased as she rushed in. Toby rolled out of the way to be right in the position of Bular's horn. Toby braised for impact as the horn connected with his armour sending him flying into the upper floors.
Toby quickly recovered just in time to jump out of the way of a flying rock the came directly for him
As he evade he was met with a hooved foot that kicked him into the wall followed by two blades that tried to cut his head off, but but lucky kicked his feet out and slid down causing the blades to cut the wall instead. As he looked from under Nomura he balled his fist and hit her in the stomach...
Nomura looked unfazed at Toby as a smirk formed over her face. She removed her blades from the wall and walked Toby down...
Toby crawled backwards but then *thud*
Bular landed behind him. "His mine" the troll snared as he raised his blade and Toby closed his eyes...
BANG!* Another explosion sound but those time it came from closer. Way closer. As Toby opened his eyes he saw the knight that was about the same size as him just a bit taller. The Guardian. Holding his foot against the neck of the troll as the troll struggles to remove his foot
"Ugh.. ughh!" Bular struggles
Pure anger radiating off of the knight. But something about this anger seemed familiar to Toby, like he felt it before, but those was way worse. It felt like standing next to a furnace at top heat...
Nomura was too stunned to do anything. Frozen by fear. But she wasn't the only one. The gum-gums instinctively stopped and started to shiver. The sound of clinking armour could be heard in the area as Blinky, Arrrgh and a now conscious Draal stood still as well.
A metal foot came stepping out of a hole in the wall as steam evaporated from his armour.
"I see you finally got serious, boy!" Arthur said as he made a portal to absorb Bular. Jim didn't move as he felt the troll sonk into the floor until his foot was on the solid floor. The troll came out next to Arthur, holding his throat while kneeling on the floor. Jim turned towards Arthur and pointed hos blade at him.
Arthur looked at Jim from the bottom floor a few hundred meters away...
"What now..." Before Arthur could finish the sentence he had to block the blade from striking Bular
The clash caused Bular to fly against the wall and the rest in room also had to anchor themselves to not get affected
'my king?! MY KING! JIM!' Axl tried to reach Jim, but Jim was not responding.
Arthur pushed Jim back but had to block again to avoid being cut down. Jim hit Arthur's blade to the side and grabbed him by the throat and choked him, but just as he was struggling Arthur summoned a few mephits but not to assist him but to attack Toby.
Jim immediately let Arthur go and rushed towards the mephits and before Toby could even fight for himself Jim was already infront of him and swung his blade causing a pressure that repelled not only the mephits but also Nomura who was in the same direction. Nomura managed to evade and used the momentum to propel herself out of a window to escape. Arthur also didn't waste time and used a portal to teleport Bular out of there just in time, before Jim appeared on Bular's position and stabbed at him. But luckily he was teleported causing Jim to stab into the ground and causing a crater...
Jim turned to look at Arthur who evaded just in time as well as Jim's blade just barely missed his neck as Arthur leaned backwards into the wall portal. The test of the gum-gums froze in fearas everyone else. No one dared move in fear of being cut down. Everyone was uncertain weather The Guardian was a friend or foe in that moment. Jim looked at them and looked at his hands. He then ran towards a broken window and jumped out vanishing into the roof tops of the town as everyone took a breathe of relieve. Then they started at each other realizing the gum-gums were still there.
After a quick battle, the remaining gum-gums were taken down and the group returned back to Trollmarket. No one saying a word and all just sat in silence in the forge, trying to calm down the shock from the event of The Guardian's rage.
On the other side of Arcadia, Jim sat on a rock overseeing the town as he held the his helmet in his hand locking at it.
'Alx?'
'Yes, my King?'
'What happened to me backe there?'
'I- I am unable to give a logical answer my king'
'All I remember was hitting Arthur, and then I saw Toby was in trouble, and after that I was...'
'I am sorry my king, that I can not give you this answer'
'I felt... Angry. So angry, but not at the troll. It felt like it was at myself'
A long silence hung over the forest as storm clouds rose over the horizon.
The next morning Jim woke up a little later then usual and found that he didn't have time to make breakfast
After preparing for school he rushed down just in time to see his best friend ride off
"Hey Tobes!" Jim yelled to get Toby's attention, but he did turn around to look
Jim first thought it was weird but just took it as Toby not hearing him so he quickly got on his bike and pursued his friend
"Tobes! Wait up!" Jim finally caught up, "hey Tobes what's up?"
Tobes didn't even look at Jim
"Are you... Angry?"
"Yes!" Toby stopped his bike and turned angrily to Jim. "I called for help last night and you didn't even reply!"
"Look Tobes I'm..."
"I ALMOST DIED!"
Jim's face went cold. He was there but not as Jim but The Guardian, and he knew what happened but hearing Toby say those words out loud made him lose grip a bit on his reality. He saw flashes of Toby full of blood and buried beneath a ton of rubble.
"The least you could have done was come and lend what ever support you could! No matter how small! I know I would have, if I were you!" Jim snapped back to reality as soon as Toby said that
It was true. Toby did give his full support when he was only human back then and Jim was the trollhunter but now the rolls are reversed. But Jim was helping, only problem was no one knew it was him. No one could know. At least not yet. Not until the order was not a threat any more to his friends.
"Look Tobes, I'm sorry. I really am. I was sick, and my phone was off" Jim tried to lie to save his relationship with his best friend
"I- I ... I'm sorry. There's nothing you can do against a sickness I guess and you'd probably had been killed last night. Sorry. I'm a bit still shaken up from... 'something' that happened last night "
Jim felt his heart sunk as he saw his friend looked like he was remembering a monster. The worst monster he ever faced. And it felt like Toby was referring to Jim last night.
"But I'll tell you later. We'll be late for school so let's hurry " Toby saw a glimps of how sad Jim looked before Jim snapped back to a smile
"Thanks for understanding Tobes. And don't worry, next
time I'll definitely help you"
The boys continued to bike off to school...
