Reviews from previous chapter:

Ulrich362:

Riley... *Gives her a hug* You're more than just a soldier... and I'm sure Dan will help you realize that... you deserve so much more.

As for this chapter, ah... Deep Sea Diva... a very fitting card for Allie, it's a small engine of cards that definitely fit her as a person. It makes sense Dan would give them to her over the Ice Barrier cards and it makes me wonder what else he and Ray gave Allie. And she uses it to bring out a second tuner, one that can be treated as level eight? Allie's going for a very big move here but will it be enough? Amazing job Allie, your first ever Synchro Summon and it went perfectly and the Deep Sea cards fit you so perfectly. It's really a match made in... underwater heaven? The deck fits her perfectly and she has room in her deck for Aquaactress and Deep Sea cards. Allie's dad is absolutely the biggest "Daughter's Guy" ever... not even Skip is that bad... and of course they realize that it was Dan who gave them the new cards... though that reaction from Sora was a bit concerning... why would he stare at Tate after learning he uses Xyz Summoning... what's going through his head right now? Wait huh, I thought Dan mentioned not giving Allie Ice Barrier... was he just referring to her main deck because yeah the Synchros are powerful and Riley is going to have quite the battle dealing with those powerful dragons. Fair point on her needing some more aggressive cards, I mean yes Aquaactress Arowana can get up to 5200 but she need more than that and these powerful Synchro monsters definitely qualify. Declan... at this point I think you should let Dan pick the Lancers... he could probably supply them with decks that would wipe Duel Academy off the map, not that you want to go that far but still... it would not surprise me, and there are powerful cards he doesn't even know about from his home. Yup, saw that coming... Allie might have brought out two Synchro Monsters but the Burning Abyss cards don't go down without a fight and Riley clearly knows how to take advantage of their effects... sacrificing Dante to bring our Barbar to block the second attack and deal some damage to keep the lead is a smart move. And Riley even set up her banished zone expertly to bring Dante back from the graveyard to her Extra Deck... an interesting way to shuffle the card back since summoning him from the graveyard won't give him Overlay Units for his ability. Wow, and they say the graveyard is a second hand? Riley's turning her banished zone into a second hand and even filled up the cards in her hand before doing so... she's on a completely different level. Allie's going to need something big to turn this one around. Yup, I saw Rubic coming... the Burning Abyss Tuner, a fitting move after seeing Riley bring out two Synchro Monsters in one turn. Poor Allie, bringing out a monster when Lancea left the field would have helped but Riley outmaneuvered her and got past that ability. Oh, bringing out the Ritual too? Very impressive... Riley's skill with the Burning Abyss cards are incredible, though as it stands I feel like with a bit more time to practice with her Synchros and new cards Allie would be an even more impressive threat. I stand corrected, Allie is putting up a strong offensive and against most other decks she'd have taken a huge lead but the Burning Abyss cards are able to keep their presence on the field long enough to block all of her attacks. Riley's going to be tough to beat. Icejade Gymir Aegirine huh, did not see that one coming and I have a feeling Riley didn't either. And yup, it was close but with her defenses gone from Heavy Storm Allie wasn't able to survive the attack that finished her off... though Riley offering a hand was a nice touch and a sign of a potential friendship starting... I'm sure it will be great for them both (Though I am a bit confused why Allie was happy about Riley admitting she didn't have fun though). Though I am a bit disappointed that Declan just assumed Riley would win, I mean it's one thing to have confidence in her but especially after Zuzu's victory over him you'd think he'd be more thoughtful that You Show might be able to surprise him. Oh well, he's still supporting Riley which is a good thing. Dan's right though, the challenges in the Arc-League are only going to get tougher moving forward... in ways you don't even know. Awesome chapter, looking forward to the update.

Okay here are the questions:

Question 1 Ulrich362:

(To Allie)

As for a question of the chapter:

Allie, do you think you and Riley will be able to hang out a lot after everything is over? I mean, you two would be great friends if given the chance.

Allie: Yeah definitely. I think she will be a great friend of me, Tate, Frederick, and Dan! Although I think she, and Dan are made for each other.

Wanted to take a break last week so there was no chapter at that time. But now I'm back, and ready to continue on starting with this here between Zuzu, and Julia, and it'll be different. And it also looked like the glitch onto 's newest chapters being gone or switched out is gone now. Don't know what the hell that was about, but since it's gone now, you can see all of the chapters for real like before. So now we are here for Julia, and Zuzu's duel so let's see what is gonna happen here now.

Summary: The match between Riley, and Allie ended, and despite Allie's impressive plays with the cards that Dan supplied her with Riley prevailed over the You Show Duelist with her powerful Burning Abyss Deck. Now that it's ended, Zuzu's match against her rival Julia is beginning, and she is determined to show Julia how much she has improved as not only does she learn Fusion Summoning from Sora, she also managed to defeat Declan with those same cards including the Pendulum Monsters. But during the duel, Julia's head was suddenly assaulted with some memories, and decides to see to it herself after the duel.

Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! as a whole but I own any OCs! ENJOY!

Date: 4/7/25

It had been several minutes ever since Allie's duel with Riley. After this while waiting for Zuzu to begin her match with Julia, they settled for watching the other Duelists dueling within the tournament watching some pretty opponents. Right now is Ron against a Duelist from the Leo Insitutue, and they had seen that Ron is using a different strategy rather than using Battlefield Tragedy the entire time he is using aggressive attacks while also luring his opponent more into attacks that Ron counters over. And now Ron is at an advantage.

Ron: 2300/Hand: 1/Deck: 32/60

Leo Duelist: 1100/Hand: 3/Deck: 2/40

"Well Duelists it looks as though Ron Marco, the ace of Gaming Way Duel School had gotten through further in his quest to checkmate his opponents! This is not looking good for his opponent!"

The opponent grunted over before he's forced to send his remaining top cards to the graveyard from his End Phase per Battlefield Tragedy's effect since he couldn't finish Ron this turn. Ron silently drew. "I pass this turn." His opponent looked at his empty Deck slot before then sighing, the duel ending right then, and there since he couldn't draw forcing him to Deck-Out.

"And with that done, Ron has Checkmated his opponent by forcing his opponent to not have any more cards to play, and wins through Deck-Out!" Nico announced over in his microphone grinning as Ron bowed over to the Leo Duelist before he turned heading off.

"He certainly changed his strategy." Sora while licking his lollipop stares at seeing how Ron is using new tactics. From seeing his duel with Dan focuses onto Battlefield Tragedy to quickly empty his opponent's Deck only attacking himself using monsters that can attack directly such as Puppet Pawn but now is using his monsters to land aggressive attacks while taking the risk of Battlefield Tragedy himself since he is using a 60 card Deck instead of 40 cards.

"Well duelists always want to always get stronger, and by doing that is changing what their Decks used to be like, and move forward." Yuya spoke smiling seeing this. "Now he has moved from somewhat interesting to real interesting, it's no show when all you do is drain your opponent's Deck."

"Yeah even since he has more options now that he maximized his Deck." Dan agreed nodding seeing this smiling glad that Ron is using better options, and using more better strategies. He has a feeling he had influenced Ron into doing these kinds of strategies since he had revealed he uses 60 card Decks himself, and uses all available options together with him. Not exactly the best but it helps Ron get stronger which is always good.

"Hmph, Deck-Out is always something weaker duelists use when they can't really defeat their opponents." Sylvio, however with the rest of his LID Quintet spoke disapprovingly of the use of Mill Decks. Although Ron had indeed used powerful attacks, and methods to protect himself, he views Mill Decks as Decks that cowards use since they force their opponents to lose all their cards instead of fighting head-on so he views Ron as a cowardly Duelist instead of an honorable one.

"It's still a powerful strategy, Sylvio. Mill Decks are always something Duelists watch out for depending on who uses them." Hector disagreed as he sees potential in every Deck such as Mill Decks, and although they win through a different Summon condition, they are still hard Decks to break through. Especially seeing someone as Ron using his alongside taking risks of Battlefield Tragedy himself. "I mean, there exists Exodia, and the King of Games used that to defeat Seto Kaiba in their first duel. Was he a coward then?"

"I didn't say the King of Games is a coward. He proved he's better than Kaiba later on." Sylvio spoke to him simply. "Any duelists who rely on cheap tactics to win can't call themselves duelists."

"Negation effects are given way too much freedom..." Julia spoke somewhat agreeing although not completely. It's true though, duelists who use cards that disrupt their opponents too much can't call themselves duelists if they stop everything that their opponents do. Lord knows she ran into Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring WAY too much to let her know that the game is moving more onto powerful cards, and cards that are supposed to stop those cards are being used against combo starters preventing them from playing the card fairly. Well luckily the Leo Institute are mitigating lots of those disrupters out of the game allowing them to duel for fun, and stop any board disrupters from taking effect such as Evenly Matched, or Infinite Impermanence. "But he still played fairly, and took risks like a true duelist so it wouldn't be called cheap if he was able to take the drawbacks himself by attacking."

"And that a lot of annoying cards are getting the boot." Kit agreed which Sylvio scoffed, crossing his arms. Then Kit turned over towards Julia. "Although Julia isn't your match after this one?"

Julia rose up with a smirk. "Of course, a perfect chance for me to once again show Zuzu that she belongs at my lower level." She starts to walk down to the arena but a hand takes her wrist. Confused, she turned to see Hector is looking at her with a slight blush while holding her wrist. "What is it Hector?"

"Uh, good luck!"

Julia scoffed with a grin as she released her hand turning back. "I don't need luck." She walked as Hector stared over to her form. He can feel that Zuzu will not be as easy an opponent as she was before, and hopes that Julia doesn't underestimate her. Whatever is going to happen, is gonna be shocking, and that Shay, and Yuto being here is making this feeling worse, especially that he's not allowed to talk about it. He hopes that Julia will be okay, he can't afford seeing her get hurt.

Dipper, and Kit stared at Hector before they looked at each other. Yup, they can definitely tell that Hector has a thing for their female member, and sighed to each other. They should probably give him some advice when they have time.

I'll win this duel,
You can't beat my moves.
I'm in that groove,
I know I can't lose.
Your turn, your tricks,
Now what will you choose?

Can you feel the power!?

Now You Show is staring at the coming duel excited for this. This is time for a grudge match between two bitter rivals to settle the score! Dan had known that Julia Krystal, and Zuzu had dueled each other before when he had dueled Declan for the final duel when the match ups ended in a tie. He hasn't known her for long but had been told by his classmates that Julia is the best Fusion Duelist within LID, and uses powerful monsters called Gem-Knights that are aggressive into Fusion Summoning. He had heard of the Deck but he never saw it in action before, well now's the chance for that to happen.

While both girls are placing their Duel Disks on their arms, Zuzu stares at Julia recalling some memories. She had recalled that Julia had confronted Shay not knowing who he was, and that she knows that Julia found him to avenge Professor Marco, but when they encountered each other when Shay, and Yuto are in LID's Side of the tournament tries to warn her but Julia had told her they always been students. Thanks to confronting Declan, she knows the truth but she can't say anything. But now she knows why Julia is acting friendly to who she should be fighting. Now that isn't important, time to settle the score!

"Well hello there Zuzu. Are you gonna lose to me again?"

It felt like a ten 10 weight dropped onto Zuzu's head from irritation. She had trained a lot for this day, and will show her she's not the same duelist she had beaten all those weeks ago! "Don't think, I'll be as easy as before Julia! I've changed, and am ready to settle the score between the two of us! So get ready I'm not going easy, even since I had defeated Declan!"

"You did what?" Julia looked shocked at that last bit. This girl in front of her defeated Declan himself? How is that possible? But then she shook her head glaring at Zuzu. "It'll take more than that to catch me off-guard Zuzu! If you're so eager to lose again, I'll give it to ya, and see what you've been up to!" That's probably a lie! Yeah that must be it, there's no way someone like her can defeat Declan!

"And now our next match is between You Show, and the Leo Institute where now we can see the strong, and stunning Zuzu Boyle against her rival the serious, and strong-willed Julia Krystal This will be a rivalry bout as we had never seen before, and can expect a great duel!" While the girls had been talking amongst themselves, Nico had announced the round up between them while everyone cheered from this.

While You Show cheers over from this Dan watches over wondering what is going to happen. He had only seen Zuzu dueled once which was when Arc-V had started when Yuya had tried to Pendulum Summon again but had not used it correctly where only Tate believed he had won his match against the Sledgehammer fairly. Melodious are an interesting Deck, and against a Deck as aggressive as Gem-Knight he isn't sure what this could result in. Well this is the time to find out.

In one seat was Declan himself with Riley, and their mother. Now is to see what Zuzu can do against a strong opponent such as someone who had defeated her before. If Zuzu was able to defeat him, then she should defeat Julia. Julia is no slouch either so this could go either way but the only way to find out is to spectate, and see where this can go.

"And now let us reveal the Action Field for this afternoon's slugfest!" The large orb appeared spinning the card before it shattered revealing the Action Spell. "Oh, and we're about to have this duel take them high in the sky within the Infinite Bridges!"

"Action Field: Infinite Bridges activated." the computer announced as the field appeared as a huge set of bridges looking like a maze.

Infinite Bridge

Action Field Card

You can use Action Cards, but you can only have 1 Action Card in your hand.

"Whoa..." Dan looked amazed seeing the field. Lots of overlapping bridges...? A really good place to get lost if you ask him. Especially if one of them falls, they get hurt.

"And now girls let us see some altitude between you both, and see who is moving down to vanquishville!" Nico announced that it's time to start dueling!

"Duelists locked in battle!" Zuzu started this off with the Action Duel Chant.

"Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through this field!" Julia added over on her own side.

"Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" they both declared as they raised their arms together. "ACTION-"

"DUEL!" When the duel is finished the Action Card orb broke apart, and scattered all across all the bridges.

Julia: 4000

Hand: 5

Let the duel commence!

Julia 1st Turn:

"I'll be the first Zuzu!" Julia checks over her hand. Seeing the kind of hand she has, she grinned. Yes, perfect, Zuzu won't break through the kind of hand she has no matter what she has in store. "Okay, I'll start nice and easy. First is summoning this gem from my hand." She revealed a card in between her fingers placing it on the field. "Gem-Knight Nepyrim!"

Raising up was a new female warrior shaped as a fairy. This one is purple with wings on her back that seemed energy made with golden gems on them while having a purple armored cloak that has a belt buckle around the waist that isn't buckled in while having no nose or mouth on the beige mask, and a plated purple helmet, and golden fittings around it.

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Gem-Knight" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gem-Knight Nepyrim", also any effect damage your opponent takes during the Main Phase this turn is halved. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Gem-" monster. If this card is sent from the hand or Deck to the GY: You can send 1 card from your hand to the GY, and if you do, Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Gem-Knight Nepyrim" once per turn.

"And when I summon this card, I can take a Gem-Knight to my hand. Any effect damage you take for the rest of the turn becomes half of what you will originally take however." Julie searches her Deck, adding her chosen card. Then after placing the card in her hand, she takes another showing it. "Next, the effect of Nepyrim allows me to summon another Gem from my hand so I am bringing out Gem-Armadillo!"

Raising onto the field was an armadillo that doesn't have back legs with gems of orange around it with some kind of canister tanks on its back, and some silver claws on its hands.

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your Deck to your hand.

"Since I summoned this little guy, I can take a Gem-Knight from my Deck to my hand!" Julia's Deck ejects a card that she takes, adding it to her hand.

She's building a hand advantage already... Adding numerous cards to her hand to start her first move is often the strongest move you can make against opponents, and even since you can do it as your opponent has nothing on their field to prevent you from stopping it unless they have a powerful hand trap. But that can't happen as the Leo Institute forbids powerful hand traps from disrupting your plays. They are seeing the complete strength of the duelists here, and now.

"And next up, I will use Gem-Knight Fusion!" Julia activates her usual Fusion Spell.

Gem-Knight Fusion

Normal Spell Card

Fusion Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your Graveyard; add this card to your hand.

"This spell allows me to summon Gem-Knight from my Extra Deck as long as I use monsters either from my hand or my field!" Julia takes the card she added with Armadillo's effect revealing it. "And I have just the monsters! Gem-Armadillo, and Nepyrim that just happened to be on my field, and then the next, Gem-Knight Hollowcore!" A large black armored knight with a red mane while having red veins around its body with a gem on its abdomen, and wielding a large fire made sword rose alongside Armadillo, and Nepyrim all fusing together.

"Armadillo with the amazing citrine! Flawless pyrite of good will! Join together with the hollow gem and disburse into flawless gems! Fusion Summon! Supreme radiance who facilitates gems! Level 9! Gem-Knight Master Diamond Dispersion!"

Raising onto the field was Master Diamond except it's a different version of him. Instead of having a large sword that has gems on it he has diamonds all around his armor acting as an extra defense with them jutting out of some places alongside curved horns on his helmet, and having a long red cape.

When your "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster is destroyed by battle while this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Gem-Knight Master Diamond Dispersion" once per turn.

"Never seen that monster before!" Zuzu stared up in shock seeing a different monster than Master Diamond was summoned. Already she's falling behind, Julia is still hiding secrets of her Deck from her, and if she can't figure out or predict Julia's strategies, she can't get the advantage back.

"I'll end this for now so I'll be placing 2 cards down, and your turn." Other than hand advantage, Julia also has field advantage from both a powerful Fusion Monster, and whatever backrow she has. If Zuzu isn't careful, she will be the one falling behind. So she needs to pay close attention, and try to beat Julia at her own game. "I hope you have SOME improvement Zuzu. You'll probably disappoint me, but try." And here she's mocking her mocking! Well Zuzu has some tricks of her own!

Julia's Hand: 1/Field: Gem-Knight Master Diamond Dispersion (Attack Position), Two Set Cards

Zuzu 1st Turn:

"Okay then, it's my turn!" Feeling more than a little fired up Zuzu drew checking over. Seeing what she has she nods before taking a card. "Okay, Julia I'll start this off with this! Solo the Melodious Songstress!"

"Since you have a monster on the field but I don't, I can summon Solo from my hand." Zuzu explained to Julia who stared at her. "She won't be alone though, cause next I will summon Sonata the Melodious Diva!"

Raising onto the field with Solo was Sonata who let out a harmonic solo with Solo.

DEF: 1000

If you control a "Melodious" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). While this Special Summoned card is on the field, all Fairy-Type monsters you control gain 500 ATK and DEF.

"With a Melodious on the field, I can summon her from my hand, and every Fairy gains 500 points as long as she's out."

Solo the Melodious Songstress: (ATK: 1600 + 500 = 2100/DEF: 1000 + 500 = 1500)

Sonata the Melodious Diva: (ATK: 1200 + 500 = 1700/DEF: 1000 + 500 = 1500)

Julia only laughed from this. Pathetic, this is the same old tactic Zuzu had done in their previous duel, and she said she had trained a lot since that day? How is this supposed to prove that? "Please, you said you've been training hard, and this is all you have to use against me? Same old, same old?"

"I'm not done yet Julia. Sure this is the same tactic I used when I was dueling you before." Zuzu said that while her moves haven't changed much, she can still be a powerhouse if Julia underestimates her. "But, I am not the same as before!" She takes her secret weapon before then revealing it. "And this will help! Look familiar?" She reveals a spell that looks like Polymerization in the artwork with Synchro Fusionists flying around the card.

Fusion Substitute

Normal Spell Card

(This card is always treated as "Polymerization".)
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters you control as Fusion Material. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster in your GY; return it to the Extra Deck, then draw 1 card.

Seeing the card Julia's eyes widened in shock. "Is that Polymerization?" She never saw a Polymerization looking like that! In fact, that doesn't look like a Fusion card she is familiar with! Or wait, it does look somewhat familiar...

"Not exactly! This is called Fusion Substitute, and it's of the same name as Polymerization!" Zuzu explained to her. "The difference between this, and the original is that I can only Fusion Summon using monsters in my field! So I use Sonata, and Solo on my field to Fusion Summon!" And although Julia has Hollowcore in the graveyard, she only has 2 Gem-Knights in her graveyard so she can't use its effect to stop it. "So now Sonata, and Solo fuse together into one!"

"Noble resonance! Let your melody flow! With guidance of the baton, gather your power! Fusion Summon! Now come here to the stage! Schuberta the Melodious Maestra!"

Raising onto the field was an orange/red fairy conductor like her other Fusion Monsters. She is holding a conductor stick like wand in her hand that's silver but a handle around the bottom. She has long orange flowing curly hair alongside a golden mask that is over her eyes like a masquerade ball like mask that has some gems on it while having red eyes, and is wearing a dress like a flower blooming that's mostly black with being orange at the bottom, and bloom cuffs around the wrists, and pink song notes around it humming a tune.

DEF: 2000

2 "Melodious" monsters
Once while face-up on the field (Quick Effect): You can target up to 3 cards in any GY(s); banish them, and if you do, this card gains 200 ATK for each.

Seeing the Fusion Summon from her excited everyone. They already had a lot of things to say from Allie using Synchro Summoning in her duel against Allie, but seeing another one of You Show's Duelists using Fusion Summoning is amazing to see, even seeing Zuzu managing to do it with a Fusion Spell that is often heard or seen by many but never used as it's a worst Polymerization that requires you to control the Fusion Materials you need to Fusion Summon but she managed to make it work.

Julia was also shocked that Zuzu made a Fusion Spell that's often awkward, or inconvenient to use. And now that she did, she can gain some advantage if she uses its other effects. If Zuzu really can Fusion Summon like that, Julia should not hold back much else. Julia just grunted over this. "Well not bad Zuzu but, I'm afraid that won't be enough! Cause I will activate Dispersion's special ability!" Zuzu blinked, looking up as Dispersion turned itself to energy forming monsters on Julia's field. "By sending it to the graveyard, I can take 3 Gem-Knight Fusion Monsters that aren't Rock, and summon them from my Extra Deck straight away!"

"What, you're summoning more Fusion Monsters!?"

"Yes, Zuzu, I'm outplaying you on every level!" Julia raises an arm as three monsters form.

"Not yet, before your monsters come, I activate Schuberta's special ability!" Julia blinked as Schuberta raised her conductor stick generating energy. "One time while she's on the field, I can banish 3 cards from either of our graveyards!" Julia widened her eyes as Schuberta opened Julia's graveyard portal. "And the cards you will lose are Hollowcore, Master Diamond Dispersion, and why not, Gem-Knight Fusion for good measure! And while we're at it she'll gain 200 points for every card she banished! Chorus Break!"

The two high-leveled Gem-Knights, and Gem-Knight Fusion itself were removed from the graveyard while Schuberta grew stronger.

Schuberta the Melodious Maestra: (ATK: 2400 + (200 * 3) = 3000/Effect Used)

Tate, Allie, and Frederick cheered from this while Gong, Dan, Sora, and Yuya all smiled from this. This works two ways, it means Julia's monsters will be weaker than Zuzu's but it also means she can't recycle either Gem-Knight Fusion, or use the effects of those two monsters in the graveyard. She's cut off from using Gem-Knight Fusion for the rest of the duel hopefully, and Dispersion can't help her with swarming her field, or whatever Hollowcore can do.

Julia herself frowned from this. Although she lost her three best graveyard interactives she won't go down that easily. "I still have three monsters, Zuzu! So say hello to Gem-Knight Aquamarine, Gem-Knight Prismaura, and Topaz!"

The three lights formed into three Knights onto the field facing against Zuzu's Fusion Monster.

First was a smaller knight then Master Diamond with bladed orange armor with a black cape on with topaz on his armor, and wielding blackhand scythe style like blades backhanded.

None of her new monsters are able to overpower Schuberta. Zuzu knows that Julia had used Dispersion to avoid having no monsters on the field, and planned on fusing these new monsters so that she can have a more powerful monster. But now that Schuberta has got rid of Gem-Knight Fusion, she is unable to do that. "Okay, Schuberta attacks the weakest one! Gem-Knight Topaz!" Schuberta readied charging in towards Topaz who readied itself.

But Julia grinned revealing her face-down. "Forgetting what cards I'm able to do Zuzu?" A face-down was revealed which was shown to be Gem-Knight Prismaura with multiple gemstones, and diamonds in their flawless forms flying around him.

Pyroxene Fusion

Normal Trap Card

Send, from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard, the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster Card, then Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.)

"Huh?" Zuzu looked surprised seeing she had sprung a trap card.

"This card, Pyroxene Fusion, allows me to Fusion Summon a Gem-Knight from my Extra Deck as long as I send the monsters from my hand, or field to the graveyard!"

"Fusion Summoning using a Trap Card?" Dan blinked, never hearing of this. While there are lots of Spells, and sometimes Monster Effects that can allow Fusion Summoning, he had never seen or heard of a Trap Card able to use Fusion Summoning. If Traps can also be used to Fusion Summon then things like Flash Fusion can be put at the back for certain Decks since your able to use them during either player's turn, or during battle.

Ray had seen Fusion Traps in her Dueling Career, and to her this is nothing new. What she is interested in is what kind of monster Julia will summon if she is using 3 Fusion Monsters at once for it.

"And now I fuse Topaz, Prismaura, and Aquamarine to summon a new monster!" Julia raised an arm as the three Gem-Knight Fusions rose up fusing together.

"Legendary topaz of determination! Majestic aquamarine! Dazzling prism! In a whirlpool of light, combine to bring forth a new dazzling radiance! Fusion Summon! This is my true ace! Dazzling lady, Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond!"

Raising onto the field was a beige female warrior having a long red cape. She has diamonds all over her form, and armor with brown/black plates of armor around her legs while having spikes around her shoulder area, and a diamond like crown. She also has brown armor that is bulky on her arms, and in her right hand was a sword that acts like a rapier to her. Summoned she swiped the sword in a horizontal slash onto the field above Julia.

Must first be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Materials. You can only Special Summon "Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond(s)" once per turn. Once per turn: You can send 1 face-up "Gem-Knight" monster you control to the Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

"Doesn't matter if she loses her cards, or not no-one can stop Julia from Fusion Summoning." Sylvio smirked from this. She is the second-best out of all of the LID Quintet, and she shows it that despite Zuzu managing to stop her from using her best cards that work within the graveyard, she still has the advantage against her. And now that her true ace monster is on the field, Zuzu can't prevent her from doing anything else further!

While Dipper, and Kit likewise are grinning from seeing this Hector still looks worried. He was concerned that Julia lost Gem-Knight Fusion, and even if she had proven it won't stop her from Fusion Summoning, it doesn't mean that she won't get thrown at a disadvantage again. Even though they don't know what kind of other cards that Zuzu has except for her Fusion Monster.

"Since Gem-Knight Aquamarine was sent to the graveyard, its special ability sends 1 card on the field back to the hand!" Julia added as Aquamarine appeared above charging for Schuberta that Zuzu turned running, and grabbing an Action Card.

Seeing the card she smiled before then calling. "Not so fast Julia, I activate Detour!" A colorful spell which shows off something going down a path but then turns where it shows a crash symbol on it.

Detour

Action Spell Card

Negate the effect of 1 monster your opponent controls, and if you do, inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

"Since you're using your monster's special ability, this card can negate the effect, and deal you 500 points of damage!" Aquamarine vanished before it could send back Schuberta while the Fusion Monster let out a vocal call to Julia who stepped back. (Julia: 3500/Hand: 1) Zuzu then frowned over. Even if she saved her monster, she doesn't have what she needs against Julia's new monster. So without that, she can't manage to have an advantage quite yet. Luckily, she can still do something rather than nothing at all. "I end the battle, and place 1 card face-down to end my turn." She still has cards to play so she's not out yet.

Julia 2nd Turn:

"My turn, now draw!" Julia drew checking over. Now that she has Lady Brilliant Diamond on the field, she can further outplay Zuzu with this next move. "Oh, I think it's adorable to see you going Fusion to Fusion with me Zuzu, but it's obvious, you will never reach my level!"

"I am reaching your level, in fact, you aren't able to summon another Fusion Monster now since I got rid of your Gem-Knight Fusion!"

"Is that what you think? We will see if what you think is true with this next move!" Running over Julia takes an Action Card before then calling. "First is using the trap card, Gemini Ablation!" A continuous trap showing of Phoenix Gearfried turning into Immortal Phoenix Gearfried as if referencing a part of it's effect rose onto the field.

(face-up)

Gemini Ablation

Continuous Trap Card

During the Main Phase: You can discard 1 card, then activate 1 of these effects;
● Special Summon 1 Gemini monster from your Deck as an Effect Monster that gains its effects.
● Tribute 1 Gemini monster, and if you do, Special Summon 1 FIRE Warrior monster from your hand or Deck. Then, if you Tributed a Gemini monster that was treated as an Effect Monster and had gained its effects, you can also destroy 1 card on the field.
You can only use this effect of "Gemini Ablation" once per turn.

The name of the trap wasn't lost to Dan. "A Gemini support card? I thought, no-one uses Gemini cards anymore."

"You'd be surprised on what duelists can use them." Ray spoke to him that it isn't impossible for people to use Gemini cards. Gemini monsters have inherient flaws onto their requirements either to waste 2 Normal Summons to not only summon 1, and then summon it again to use their effects. If Julia uses Gemini Monsters than she must know how to use them effectively.

"During either our Main Phases, I can send 1 card from my hand to the graveyard to summon 1 Gemini monster from my Deck, and as an added bonus, it gets to have it's effects like it always had as a regular Effect Monster!" Julia discards her Action Card, and quickly finds her wanted monster. "Such as this card! Gem-Knight Amber!"

Raising onto the field with Lady Brilliant Diamond was a yellow armored Gem-Knight that has amber diamonds around its armor with a flaming yellow dagger in its right hand. It also has pyramid patterns on its belt, and a white crown-like mask that has horns, and silver plates of armor on its shoulders.

"And he has a rather special ability!" Julia shows a Normal Monster card called Gem-Knight Crystal, discarding it. "By discarding a Gem-Knight from my hand, I get to recover Hollowcore from banishment, and add him right back to my hand!" Zuzu widens her eyes as she adds Hollowcore back to her hand. "It won't stay in my hand however, because by sending it to the graveyard, I can summon this card from my hand! Brilliant Rose!" "And once every turn, Brilliant Rose can take the mantle of a Gem-Knight of Melodious Fusion Monster on name, Type, and Attribute!" Julia searches her Extra Deck revealing the card. "And I think Gem-Knight Ruby fits the description nicely!" Brilliant Rose glowed as a ghost of the selected card appeared around her.

Brilliant Rose: (Name: Gem-Knight Ruby/Type: Pyro/Attribute: EARTH)

"Wait, that monster supports both Gem-Knights, AND Melodious?" Tate had heard the effect, and is surprised that monsters can help both of their Decks that way for Fusion Summoning. How could there exist a card that can use those 2 at once?

"What're the odds of Zuzu using that?" Sora wonders if Zuzu can use that card herself if she can.

"And now I activate Lady Brilliant Diamond's special ability! I send 1 Gem-Knight on my field to the graveyard to summon any Gem-Knight I want from my Extra Deck without Fusion Summoning!"

"What!?" More Fusion Monsters? Without Fusion Summoning?

"You thought because I lost Gem-Knight Fusion means, you kept me from summoning Fusion after Fusion? Think again Zuzu cause here comes an old friend!" Julia, called while Lady Brilliant Diamond, used diamonds around Brilliant Rose now as Gem-Knight Ruby as it began to change. "The friend who defeated you last duel, Gem-Knight Master Diamond!"

Once per turn: You can banish 1 Level 7 or lower "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Graveyard; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that monster's, and replace this effect with that monster's original effects.

"And for every Gem that's in the graveyard, Master Diamond gains 100 Attack Points! And I have 9 for a total of 900 points!" Zuzu widened her eyes as Julia turned her eyes to her graveyard. "Gem Roll Call!" The cards of her monsters rose from the graveyard being absorbed by Master Diamond.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (ATK: 2900 + (100 * 9) = 3800)

"3800 points?" Zuzu looked shocked at the amount of power that the same monster that defeated her has. And it has a powerful effect as well...

"But it should be 3700!" Allie argued as Julia doesn't have 9 Gems as Brilliant Rose wasn't her to how she sees it. "She doesn't have enough Gems to do that!"

"Normally she doesn't, however Brilliant Rose has an advantage." Sora spoke while eating his lollipop. "It can be treated as a Gem-Knight which means that it is also a Gem while in the graveyard. Which means Master Diamond can gain points from it as well." With this kind of strength plus two powerful Diamond Gem-Knights on the field that have powerful effects, Zuzu is gonna need to get her game on! Wait-

"Now I activate Master Diamond's special ability! By banishing a Level 7 or lower Gem-Knight Fusion Monster from the graveyard, it can have the abilities, and name of that card! And the card I picked is the one I just sent, Gem-Knight Ruby!" Julia spoke as Ruby's Gemstone on Master Diamond's sword glowed as it gained its power.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (Name: Gem-Knight Ruby/Gains effects of Gem-Knight Ruby/ATK: 3800 - 100 = 3700)

"And I'll use the new ability right away! By sacrificing a Gem-Knight on my field, I can add that monster's points to Master Diamond's!" Gesturing to Amber he flew up being absorbed into Master Diamond as it held its sword tighter.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (ATK: 3700 + 100 + 1600 = 5400)

"And if you try having a Monster in Defense Position this turn, Master Diamond can deliver piercing damage!" Julia added over which further makes this more difficult to Zuzu who grunted from this. "And now it's time to battle! Master Diamond attacks Schuberta the Melodious Maestra!" Master Diamond charges over towards Schuberta who's ATK is too low to protect Zuzu from a lot of damage, and if she tries switching her to defense then Ruby's other effect will allow Master Diamond to break through, and deal even more damage.

Zuzu manages to take an Action Card using it. "I don't think so, I use Evasion to negate the attack!"

Evasion

Action Spell Card

When a monster declares an attack: Target that monster; negate the attack.

"Not this time, I activate Gem-Knight Hollowcore's effect in the graveyard! All I have to do is banish this card alongside 3 other Gem-Knights such as Amber, Nepyrim, and Crystal to negate an effect you tried using!" Evasion's effect was cancelled out as Zuzu looked shocked from this. But that's only part one. "After that, every Gem-Knight on my field gets stronger by a thousand points!" Despite losing some power from Hollowcore banishing some monsters, Master Diamond is still more powerful, and Lady Brilliant Diamond is stronger too.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (ATK: 5400 - (100 * 4) + 1000 = 6000)

Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond: (ATK: 3400 + 1000 = 4400)

With that Master Diamond struck hard onto Schuberta destroying it instantly as Zuzu yelled pushing off the edge before quickly grabbing the railing which alarmed everyone but glad she's okay. (Zuzu: 1000/Hand: 2)

"Whoa! Zuzu almost got a 1 way tickle to fall down! Well she had lost her monster so she'll probably not be that far behind!" Despite what Nico said, Zuzu moved, pulling herself over the railing to continue dueling.

Julia herself looked alarmed when Zuzu fell off the edge but sighed in relief seeing she's okay. Cause she's her rival, and such doesn't mean she wants to really injure her. Now that she's fine, she can continue on. "Alright, Lady Brilliant Diamond your turn!" Lady Brilliant Diamond charges over towards Zuzu.

This time Zuzu has something other than an Action Card. "I activate, Pinpoint Guard!" A trap flipped which shows of Beaver Warrior being guarded by a large metal hand.

Pinpoint Guard

Normal Trap Card

When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target 1 Level 4 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it in Defense Position. It cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn.

"I revive 1 monster that's Level 4 or lower from the graveyard in Defense Position! And the monster I summon cannot be destroyed for the rest of the turn!" Zuzu takes a card from her graveyard quickly summoning it. "Sonata come on back!" Sonata rose onto the field letting out a harmonic shield while Lady Brilliant Diamond paused seeing this obstacle.

Sonata the Melodious Diva: (Defense Position/Cannot be destroyed this turn/ATK: 1200 + 500 = 1700/DEF: 1000 + 500 = 1500)

Julia stares over from this. So she had waited until Diamond Master already attacked, if she had used that card while attacking Schuberta, a replay will occur, and Master Diamond will attack her instead to deal even more damage. So she willingly took some damage so that she can survive. And now Julia doesn't have a card in her hand. But she still has the advantage. "With this turns end phase, Ruby's effect is over so Master Diamond's points drop down. But Hollowcore's effect still makes them over 4000 Attack Points!" While Master Diamond weakened some it's still stronger.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (ATK: 6000 - 1600 = 4400)

Julia's Hand: 0/Field: Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond (Attack Position/ATK: 4400), Gem-Knight Master Diamond (Attack Position/ATK: 4400), Gemini Ablation (face-up)

Zuzu 2nd Turn:

"Ah man, Zuzu barely managed to make it." Yuya looks concerned about this. Although Zuzu has managed to survive, she's left with a monster that has a minor stat increase, and doesn't have many cards in her hand. If she needs to have a chance she needs to use a showstopper. And that showstopper is on her next turn, cause she had been planning a powerful move to use for this turn. And thanks to that she has all she needs.

"But she still has some Life Points. As long as she has 1, she's still in this, and there is a chance for her to turn things around." Dan spoke watching this. He never underestimates opponents, and as long as a player has Life Points he will still be on guard against his opponents. Zuzu might have lower Life Points but he still would be careful if he was Julia, who knows what they can pull.

"Well, I have to say, you're quite lucky Zuzu. If you didn't have that trap card, I wouldn't have been able to finish you off."

"No, luck had nothing to do with it." Julia blinked towards Zuzu who rose up looking towards her rival determined. "In fact, I knew you would summon a Fusion Monster to beat me down hard... and with it, I will take you off the tournament!"

"Don't flatter yourself because you figured out some tactics. You make a lucky play on it, and think it's a diamond to behold? It's just as worthless as that Duel School of yours that hasn't entertained anyone in ages."

"We will see who hasn't entertained anyone starting now!" Zuzu drew, checking over, determined to prove Julia wrong. Seeing her drawn card was De-Fusion, Zuzu places it in her hand before then adding. "And thanks to you from earlier, I can use Fusion Substitute's effect in my graveyard! I banish this card to add Schuberta back to my Extra Deck, and draw another card!" The Fusion Spell vanishes from her graveyard as she shows Schuberta's card placing it back in her Extra Deck, and draws seeing a Rose monster like Brilliant Rose but this one is a different version which she grins. "Say Julia," Said girl blinked as Zuzu looked towards her. "remind me, you used a Rose to summon Master Diamond earlier?"

"Yes my Brilliant Rose, what of it?"

"Well I happen to have a rose myself! Crystal Rose!" Zuzu summons out her rose monster as it shows itself as a monster similar in appearance to Brilliant Rose but instead of diamond petals it has ruby petals making it really look like a Rose.

"What? You have Crystal Rose?" Julia questioned in shock.

"Sounds like you know this card! Which means you know that it helps me Deck as much as Gem-Knights! "Okay Bloom Diva charges in at Brilliant Lady Diamond, and attacks!"

Bloom Diva moves in towards the Fusion Monster which catches Julia off-guard. "Hang on! Did you forget that Lady Brilliant Diamond is stronger?"

"No, I didn't Julia, in fact that's what I was going for!" Bloom Diva sang a large sound as it enveloped around Lady Brilliant Diamond who tries resisting but finds herself being bound down. "Bloom Diva can't be destroyed, and any damage I would take from battles involving her becomes 0! The best part however is that after she battles a monster that's Special Summoned, you take damage equal to the difference of original Attack Points between them, and your monster is then destroyed!"

Julia however looked distracted by something. That surge of energy seems to have done something to her, and she looked surprised as she remembered something.

"Tell me! Were you the one who had Professor Marco disappear!?"

"Who?"

"You know who I mean! The top Professor of the Leo Institute's Fusion Course!"

"Oh, that guy. I'd expected him to have me break a sweat but he was so weak. Pathetic, not even worth my time."

Then an image of Yuto was in her mind with her, Zuzu, Sora, and Shay as he took a Polymerization while looking at Zuzu. "This card is not suited for you."

What are these... memories? Why does she feel like she had them before but she didn't remember until now? Wasn't Shay, and Yuto dueling seniors last semester? Why are they like this, and why are they involved with Professor Marco's disappearance? Actually, why is Yuto's face the same looking as Yuya's? What is going on? This is so confusing, is she even in her right mind?

"And now Sonata!" Breaking out of her confusion spell she saw Sonata charging in towards Master Diamond while Zuzu took a card. "And I use Overpass!"

"Julia!" Zuzu quickly ordered Sonata to move in, who nodded, flying quickly to Julia, and managing to catch her. Julia blinked, looking over towards Sonata, surprised while the monster smiled, turning to Zuzu who moved in nearby smiling. "Glad you're okay, Julia! That was close." Julia stared at her before turning away with an embarrassed blush.

Dipper, Kit, and Hector all sighed in relief seeing Julia is okay. She may have lost the duel but they didn't want her getting hurt as a result. Sylvio despite his arrogant attitude also relates, even if his teammates lose their own matches, he wouldn't want anyone suffering the same fate he had suffered at the hands of Yuto when he nearby pierced him through the wall with Phantom Knights' Spear. At least she's okay, and not in critical condition like he was, now it was the four of them to carry on LID's good name as the best of the summon courses.

"Folks, that duel was tighter than the kid on a pickle jar! But in the end, Zuzu Boyle of the You Show School won by an Action Card!"

Dan smiled as his friends cheered for Zuzu's victory. That was a real close match, and Zuzu had a monster that can somewhat mimic Julia's Brilliant Rose allowing her to use it. Maybe both Zuzu, and Julia were meant to be good rivals due to both roses they used together or something like that. Now that Zuzu won the match, all that's left is Dan himself, and he's against a member of the LID Quintet himself. Although he can't help but feel something is about to happen... Confused when Sora complained that someone had left before they can see Zuzu's finishing move, wondering what that was about.

"Zuzu, I vas wunderstruck when you Fusion Summoned with a similar card!"

"Of course, she learned that move from me, so I'm the one who should be congratulated."

A little later when it was sunset, sometime before Dan's own match, they all exited the Duel Arena to get a little bit of rest. And now everyone was congratulating Zuzu for a successful duel chatting excitedly before someone stepped in front of them. "Zuzu!" They looked seeing all of the LID Quintet had gathered in front of them with Julia staring at her with a stern gaze. She had told all of them about her memory spike but wanted to clarify something to Zuzu first. "I hope you realize there are going to be serious consequences for what you did today!" She started walking over to Zuzu, still keeping her gaze. "Since you defeated me..." Zuzu looked nervous at what Julia was going to do to her. Thankfully it's nothing bad from what she said next. "You are required to keep your winning streak going! If you lose, it makes me look bad!"

Oh, it's just her supporting Zuzu in her own special way. Dan had thought it was something bad but guessed he was wrong, like what Kit had told him after defeating him in his qualification duel.

"If you lose, I'll come looking for you!"

Zuzu was quiet for a few seconds before then smiling. "Okay. I won't let you down. That's a promise."

Julia grinned before then turning towards Yuya pointing at him. "And you!" He flinched when Julia directed his attention towards him. "You know something about Yuto, and Shay don't you?" Yuya blinked in confusion, wondering where she got that idea from.

"Uh, what? Sorry, I haven't got a clue about them..."

"He has the same face as you do, and that match with Zuzu had me remember that I encountered him before!" Julia spoke while Zuzu blinked. Did their duel unintentionally awaken some of the suppressed memories that Declan had erased so that she can't speak anything about her encounter with Shay? Now she looks to be really confused about what this means, and going for Yuya as he shares Yuto's face is like the best move to make at this point. "So what's the story between you, and Yuto? Are you brothers?"

"Brothers? I mean, it would explain why we have the same face but I never met him before." Yuya said that although they being brothers would somewhat tell them why they have the same face, that's not the case. "I mean, I'm an only child, right mom?" Surprisingly his mother looked deep in thought which he blinked. "Uh, mom...?"

"Well Yuya... it's weird, I don't remember much of when you were born. It's like you just... poof in my arms."

"Poof, he just poofed?" Sora questioned with a raised eyebrow, wondering how Yoko doesn't remember being pregnant with Yuya, and had some first times with him.

"Funnily enough, that's the same with Zuzu. In fact, I don't remember the first time she went goo goo or gaga when she was with me." Skip rubbed his head, also recalling this with a chuckle. "That's crazy right?"

Yeah definitely crazy... how exactly did they not remember? But Dan does have the answer, but he's not gonna say it outright. Ray had told him that as a result of the split between her, Zarc, and the Original Dimension, different counterparts were created between all of them where Ray had explained that both her, and Zarc's counterparts were created when the split happened, just appeared out of nowhere. And both Yoko and Skip had taken in both Yuya, and Zuzu without any memory, which she explains is completely necessary, so that Zarc's counterparts would not reunite, and stand close to make sure it doesn't happen.

"Well whatever the case, I want some answers." Julia spoke to Yuya as they turned back to her. "And there is only one way to get them! Yuya Sakaki, I challenge you to a duel right here, and now!" That surprised them all that it is going this far. "Before Declan stepped in, the two of us were gonna duel each other in the School Duel! And now should be the time for us to see how that would go!"

Dan stares over from this surprise. They have some time before he, and Hector should duel, but they are gonna watch Julia, and Yuya duel? Julia is a powerful Fusion Duelist while Yuya is skilled in Pendulum Summoning with some Fusion courtesy of his duel with Aura. She isn't gonna find any answers but this should be interesting to see.

With that Zuzu and Julia's rematch is done. It's shorter than original but that cause that was the canon duel that I had changed to make it into canon-like as Ulrich noted in his original review on this chapter. As you see like Zuzu, Julia has new cards especially Master Diamond Dispersion that can allow Julia to use Master Diamond's effect easier without needing to summon the non-Rock Gem-Knights, and Brilliant Rose is a monster that works well as well both that alongside Lady Brilliant Diamond to cheat Master Diamond out.

Before Dan's duel with Hector though we have a sudden challenge that Julia laid out for Yuya wanting answers that he doesn't have but wants to duel him to try getting them since Yoko doesn't have a clear answer if Yuto is related to Yuya or not. Julia's new powerful cards will give Yuya's Pendulums a challenge, and like I stated before she's second best of the LID Quintet so this could be an interesting match-up. Be sure to ask questions, and be sure to review!
