Reviews from previous chapter:
Ulrich362:
Fair enough Yuya and Julia, and that makes sense Kit and Dipper. As for this chapter... Yuya starting with his iconic Pendulum Scale makes sense, and protection from spell and traps is definitely useful. Also bringing out four monsters, is definitely a strong start and those four have some strong potential... though Julia not being worried is definitely interesting. I wonder what she has planned. I see, Dispersion... a very strong Fusion Monster to say the least, and with 2600 DEF it's still just a bit strong even if Whip Snake uses it's ability though with Cheermole that won't quite be enough. Of course the downside for Brilliant Fusion doesn't apply if Julia can bring out three new Fusion Monsters in Dispersion's place and Frederick is right it was all with one card so she definitely has more up her sleeve. She might not have Pendulum Summoning but Julia just matched Yuya four monsters to four monsters, and she still has resources in her hand... she's definitely in the more advantageous position here. Well Yuya, bad side... you got utterly humiliated in this duel... good side, you've picked up a fatal flaw of Pendulum Summoning and knowing you it means you'll come up with a strategy to avoid this or a similar situation in the future... summoning a bunch of monsters in one turn is nice, but having some spells and traps to back them up is just as important. Looks like Julia and Yuya ended on good terms though and Hector has a chance to show his skill and impress Julia... while Dan is showing You Show's skill against LID again. Yikes, lots of pressure for Dan and Hector... and of course Henrietta is a large source of that pressure. Good question, what deck will Dan use? Though of course it makes sense Zuzu would feel like she helped him update them... given what happened. Well that answers that, and Twin Photon Lizard is more useful than you might think for him... especially with its special ability. Oh but that is true... Photon Thrasher can't be summoned which is a hindrance to that move. Well it sounds like Dan has something planned, the only question is what that something is. Sylvio, you should really learn not to underestimate any cards... or have you forgotten about Block Spider already. Also nice to see Julia defending her boyfriend... I'm sure Hector would be very happy if he heard that... or maybe a little bit embarrassed. Hector is having a very impressive start with his deck, he's giving Ritual a great showing. Well... that's not good for Dan, Demise is very powerful and taking it down will not be an easy task... assuming Dan even can win, at least the extra 1000 LP from Upstart Goblin can buy him a turn. Sylvio, Pendulum is strong but it is not the best of the decks there... or at the very least, you shouldn't underestimate how your fellow LID Quintet students use their own decks. Again, Sylvio don't speak before you think... yes Demise is more powerful at first glance but Ruin has her uses too and since they use the same Ritual Spell cards they can support each other in noticeable ways. Oh, a clever counter with Kuibelt Dan, very smart move. Oh, Statue of the Wicked... getting a lot of GX nostalgia from Hector... he's a strong duelist clearly. Also Sylvio please stop talking at this point. Demise might have been taken down but Hector easily brought him back and as a tribute for his counterpart Ruin... I have a feeling this duel is far from over. Awesome chapter, looking forward to the update.
Okay here are the questions:
Questions 1 & 2 Ulrich362:
(To Yuya)
Oh and as for a question of the chapter...
1. Yuya: After learning about the weakness of Pendulum Summoning do you have any ideas for how to counter it?
Yuya: Hard to say... I mean, after being defeated like that, I wonder what I can do to be prepared. I mean stuff like effect damage negation is one thing but it would be something else if someone uses something like Lava Golem. So probably best if I reduce how much monsters I can summon in one turn is my best answer.
2. Hector: You've definitely proven you have talent, but will we see another GX reference as you go "Supreme"?
(To Hector)
Hector: GX reference? Oh you mean... well we will see although I don't really think myself as something like that. I don't use Fusion like they do but I use cards that some characters used... but that doesn't make me a GX character doesn't it?
Okay happy Easter everyone! Yeah, a chapter here around Easter time, I don't really have much to do during Easter, and try my best to work well here. Now from here we last left off, we had seen that Dan, and Hector are showing themselves against each other. We seen Dan's training paying off while Hector shows us what kind of abilities he has which involves Ritual Summoning, and the Impcantations. Now we will see how they better preform in a hard match with Hector summoning Ruin to the field.
Summary: With the emergence of Ruin, Queen of Oblivion, Hector takes the duel to a sharp turn as her abilities to land devastating attacks land Dan to a small corner only managing to defend himself briefly thanks to Kuibelt. But now Dan is focused up again, and is ready to show what he can next with his newly approved Synchro Deck striving to do better as the first move he had done made him realize he would've performed better if he had it in mind. But now with a calm head, and a focused mind, he will give Hector a match worthy of the Deck he has!
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! as a whole but I own any OCs! ENJOY!

Previously on Ascension of the Dragons:
"Lots of monsters... that works for me!" Julia before taking a card activating Gem-Knight Fusion. "I activate Gem-Knight Fusion, I fuse monsters from my hand or field to summon a Gem-Knight!" She clasped her hands together as the Fusion Vortex fused her selected monsters. "Fusion Summon! Level 5! Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli!"
Lady Lapis Lazuli rose onto the field ready with her three Gem-Knight Fusions before Julia took a card from her Deck, sending it to her graveyard. "Pendulum Summoning is powerful Yuya, however it has given me a grand advantage. I send 1 Gem-Knight from my Deck or Extra Deck to the graveyard! In return, I can blast you with 500 points of damage for every Special Summoned monster that's present on the field!"
"Exactly 4000 points." Sora spoke how much damage this would deal as Lady Lapis Lazuli blasted Yuya, defeating him in one turn before he even realized what was going on.
"If I could use Pendulum Summoning like that, then your technique needs some improvement. So that no others would manage to do that." Julia spoke over to Yuya over what he had lost thanks to her figuring out a flaw in Pendulum Summoning by using Lady Lapis Lazuli's ability.
"Alright everyone! For our duel for the day, we have a special up and coming match! Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to welcome Dan Kizami! Let us welcome, Hector Belmont!" Nico announced as both boys walked into the arena together to start their duel as they watched from this.
"Fusion Summon! Twin Photon Lizard!"
"Synchro Summon! Kuibelt the Blade Dragon!"
Both of Dan's Extra Deck monsters he is using in his new Red Dragon Archfiend Deck rose when summoned taking some people off-guard thinking he be using only 1 summoning as the theme of his Decks but apparently not that he had using 2 different methods in the Deck taking them all off-guard while Declan stares over interested where this can go.
"Ritual Summon! Demise, King of Armageddon!"
"Ritual Summon! Ruin, Queen of Oblivion!"
Hector likewise followed up with 2 monsters of his own he specially summoned the classic duo of Demise, and Ruin the King, and Queen of Armageddon and Oblivion. 2 well known monsters that can be powerful over, and gotten power crept by more powerful cards that use similar effects with different, or better downsides or drawbacks. But he is using them well, using Demise's effect to benefit from his own cards being destroyed such as Statue of the Wicked, or Vortex Trooper, both used by GX characters.
Now Ruin, and Kuibelt stand against each other staring deep while Hector, and Dan grinned towards each other eager to continue on, and try to gain an advantage against one another.

Hector 2nd Turn:
Now is round 4 of the duel, and now is the next part of Dan's match against Hector who is a skilled Ritual Summoner. He uses the Ruin and Demise Deck alongside the Impcantation cards to better use his Deck as by themselves, he can't manage to do much. And now, within the Action Field, Moonbase, Hector has Ruin ready on the field having used Demise to summon her alongside with only a Wicked Token that was summoned the last 2 rounds from the effect of Statue of the Wicked thanks to the effect of Demise.
As fair as hands go, he has only 4 cards in his hand one of which is an Action Card, another was End of the World that he had added from Cycle of the World's effect, Monster Reincarnation, and 1 Ritual Spell he had eyed.

"And now everyone Hector has brought out the second of the fabled Armageddon, and Oblivion duo, Ruin, the Queen of Oblivion herself ready to swipe down, and destroy anything who tries to get in her way! Let us see what she can do against a duelist as strong as Dan is!"
Leave it to Nico to make an epic sentence to make this match more interesting. It's certainly working though, that's for certain as with first Demise being summoned, and the next being that Ruin is summoned using Demise itself. Although Demise is the more popular of the two there are still some people who appreciate seeing the Queen of Oblivion herself taken for a spin. Not more so than Dan who always knew that the Ruin half of the two Ritual Monsters has potential, and now perhaps he can see the kind of potential firsthand to see how it can be used by a duelist who truly appreciates her firsthand.
"Ruin, Queen of Oblivion... didn't think I could see anyone who could use her."
"Me too, and I use Ritual myself." Aura suddenly rose in between Yuya, and Zuzu who both jumped shocked seeing she's there without them noticing while she responded to Yuya's question. "Demise maybe sometime, but Ruin herself, there are way too many people who don't really appreciate what she can do."
"What are you doing with us, Aura?" Zuzu raised an eyebrow suspicious, confused, and a little annoyed. Suspicious because she looks close to Yuya, confused why she isn't with her Duel School, and annoyed that she had to be over here with them.
"What, can't I show support for my darling Yuya's friends?" Aura had a sly grin as she asked this to Zuzu who looked murderous while Yuya cowered holding his head to try defending himself against another 1000 smacks from her paper fan as Tate, Frederick, Allie, and Skip looked afraid while Yoko, and Gong pulled back a little to avoid this. But then Aura loses her grin turning over towards Dan. "But, honestly, I am more interested in Dan than either of those two monsters." They looked confused from this wondering what she meant. Seeing their expressions, Aura frowned over. They can't be serious can they? "I mean, come on! He Fusion Summons, and Synchro Summons in one match? From what we know he only has 1 summon method in each of his Decks, and while he has used Ritual within his Red-Eyes Deck it is more as an extra option than a relied method. So why is he using more than 1 summon now here, who gave him that idea?"
Hearing that they all looked at each other now realizing a good point. It was totally a large surprise, in all of Dan's duels they all witnessed except against Yuto, and Shay, they know that Dan uses a single summon method except in his Red-Eyes Deck where he uses Lord of the Red who is a Ritual Monster but like Aura said that was more of a extra option than a focused summon method his Deck focuses on. They had lost the question to ask while the match was going on but Aura had quickly reminded them about it.
So now who really gave him the idea to use two different methods in a Deck like this? Maybe Declan? Not can't have been him, they haven't interacted with Declan since Dan had dueled him. Riley? No, they haven't talked to him after his match with Allie, and besides he looks pretty shy to other people. So who had told Dan to use 2 different methods in a single Deck then? They will find out about it soon though, they can feel that for certain. But for now they needed to pay attention to the duel so they turned back to see.
"The beatdown version of the Deck." Back at the other members of the LID Quintet, they are staring over towards Ruin all staring when Hector manages to summon her. A strong Ritual Monster no doubt but she is held back by low ATK for being able to attack twice in a turn. But Kit knows that this will be something to look forward to, he, Dipper, and Julia all had been with Hector for a while so they know that he knows what he is doing by using Ruin. Only Sylvio isn't but they could care less what he thinks at this point.
Julia just pays attention as she watches the match happening. She had seen Dan against Declan, and Kit but only with the Synchro Deck he used but never heard of Dan using Fusion in anything but his Fusion Deck, or using more than 1 method in a single Deck. If he is able to use all of the summon methods in a single Deck, he will be strong enough to challenge Declan again, and probably win. But she has known Hector for a while, he's strong himself, he proved himself as the best of the Ritual Course after all using old monsters to make them rise up from being powercrept. He also acts strange around her, that she can't figure out but her two friends know about it themselves but didn't say anything. 'Hector...'
"Alright now Ruin charges up to attack!" At Hector's call, Ruin starts to charge energy while Dan grunted over seeing this as his Action Card can't stop this attack, or at least make it difficult for Hector to try doing it. But he's attacking with a monster weaker than Kuibelt? "And I activate, Over Sword!" Using the Action Spell that he had grabbed a little ago which is his reason why he didn't use it earlier.
Over Sword
Action Spell Card
Target 1 monster on the field; it gains 500 ATK during the Battle Phase only, also its attack cannot be negated.
"Now Ruin gains 500 points, and her attack can't be negated now!" Ruin powered up slightly due to the Action Spell's effect making her stronger than Kuibelt.
Ruin, Queen of Oblivion: (ATK: 2300 + 500 = 2800/Attack can't be negated)
"So he has a card that can power up Ruin. These Action Spells certainly assist in helping out in matches." Ray does admit these Action Duels certainly are interesting characters from using whatever cards you find around here to your advantage. She had been watching how these Action Duels go while watching over Dan, and preventing any of Zarc's counterparts from reuniting as they never existed in her home. Although it's luck mostly as if you grab the wrong card, you'll be stuck with it.
'Yeah, but I think he has ideas even if he isn't Action Dueling with Ruin.' Dan spoke agreeing as he watched this. He thinks of stopping this by using Return of the Dragon Lords but Kuibelt's effect prevents Ruin from attacking anymore even if she destroys Kuibelt. But the Wicked Token will attack afterward which makes Return of the Dragon Lords the best defense to take to block out damage after this battle. But he is willing to take risks thanks to the Action Card in his hand. So he lets his dragon gets destroyed as he visibly winces from the attack. (Dan: 3600/Hand: 2 (Action Card))
"Well now thanks to that, Kuibelt's ability activates! Since it's destroyed, I can make one monster on your field unable to attack for this turn!" Dan called to Hector who blinked, having thought that effect was only when Kuibelt's destroyed due to an effect thinking he's using it on Ruin to stop her second attack. "I choose... your Wicked Token!" A confused blink went on Hector's eyes as he watched the Wicked Token be bound by Kuibelt's blade body.
Wicked Token: (Cannot attack this turn)
This threw the audience off, of course. The Wicked Token? Why pick that instead of Ruin, who can use her second attack on him right now? And besides that Zuzu, and Yuya also remember that Dan could've banished Return of the Dragon Lords to prevent Kuibelt's destruction but Dan let it get destroyed just to prevent the Wicked Token from attacking. What is he up too, he can't get another Action Card as he already has one so what is he planning to do?
Hector is also confused by this. Dan's not picking Ruin who can wipe out almost all of his Life Points now? He isn't sure what Dan is up to but he won't get any answers just thinking about it. So he decided to just go for it. "Alright then, since Ruin destroyed your monster she can attack one more time! Ruin, attack him directly! Fatal Oblivion!" Ruin charges up an attack charging at Dan while Hector looks around for an Action Card to try powering up Ruin. He can't see one so he runs around while Dan stays still as Ruin charges in. By the time Hector manages to find an Action Card, Dan is hit by Ruin's attack. (Dan: 0800/Hand: 2 (Action Card))
Ruin pulled back as Hector took the Action Card seeing it was Miracle. Can't use this for now. So he raised up turning over seeing Dan standing straight but had a grin despite the attack he just took. "Alright thanks for that Hector!"
"What?"
"I use Double Draw!" Dan declared using his Action Spell that shows off two card backings in front of a colorful hit cloud.
Double Draw
Action Spell Card
If you take 2000 or more battle damage: Draw 2 cards.
"Since I took 2000 or more points of damage just now, this little trick allows me to draw 2 new cards!" Dan grinned drawing two cards checking them out seeing Force Resonator, and a Monster Reincarnation of his own.
"So that's why he willingly took all that damage? So he can draw?"
"Drawing cards is always a concrete strategy to have Sylvio." Dipper shrugged from this. "And besides, Hector used Top Share last round to have them both get cards that don't benefit him mostly so the card has helped with that." Although if Dan willingly took 2000 points of damage so he can draw, it still looked like a pretty hefty cost. But if he had remembered Dan's earlier matches, then he would know he would put all of that to good use.
"Way to take the crowd Dan." Yuya smiled brightly upon seeing this. Now it makes sense, so Dan could fulfill the requirements for that Action Card so he can get some new cards, and be able to take another Action Card. True Dueltainer at heart manages to wow the crowd by taking a hard attack such as that so he can take them by storm for some acts. Of course, now comes the next act of the show.
Tate, Allie, and Frederick cheered over while the rest of everyone smiled as Skip cheered for Dan. "Go get them Danny boy!"
"Okay then." Hector spoke checking over his hand. He only has the spells he had plus the Action Card, nothing noteworthy to have now. So he looked over back to Dan. "With the end of this turn, Over Sword's effect ends so Ruin's Attack Points goes back to normal." Ruin powered down from this as she stares over at Dan.

"Alright everyone, looks like we are in for a tough fight on our hands! Let us see what Dan can do against the Queen of Oblivion herself! Will he stop her like he stopped Demise?"
"Well we're about to find out, I draw!" Dan drew, checking to see that he had drawn Pot of Greed. "Okay check this out, I just drew Pot of Greed!" The pot that the spell was drawn rose beside him chuckling.
Pot of Greed

Draw 2 cards.
Dan draws 2 cards checking them over, seeing they are Vision Resonator, and Assault Mode Zero. He had been surprised to learn there was a Resonator monster that is themed after Carly Carmine from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's alongside these new Assault Mode related cards as the dub of 5D's ended after the duel with Aporia wondering why Jack never uses those cards. Well no use dwelling on it. "Alright, I activate Monster Reincarnation!" He takes the spell using it.

"I take 1 card from my hand, and send it to the graveyard so I can take a monster from my graveyard, and add it to my hand." Taking Numbers Last Hope he discards it before the graveyard ejects Photon Thrasher's card that he takes.
"Dan, you probably need some more practice with the Deck. You've been training hard but your not fully with it yet." Ray spoke over towards him and he blinked confused. "You would've managed to summon Red Dragon Archfiend at the first turn, or it's Level 9 form with Synchro Transmission where you would negate Demise's effects, and still have a monster."
Oh... he didn't think of that. Like Ray said, he still needs a little time with the Deck before he can use it like how he uses his other ones. And he should probably think better on what strategies he can go for here. Ah well the past is the past.
'Thanks for telling Ray, I'll better pay attention now.' Dan spoke in his mind, checking over his hand. He nodded before taking Photon Thrasher's card. "Since I don't have a monster on my field, I can summon this card! Photon Thrasher!" Slashing onto the field was a light warrior glistening like Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon having a long bladed sword in it's right hand alongside blue armor, and some kind of core on it's left shoulder as a star while having a silver helmet that shows of glowing red eyes jumping onto the field.

"Well that answers what Deck he's using then." Sora spoke seeing this. Resonators used by Dan would mean only 1 thing. "It's his Synchro Deck he is using, the Fusion Summon might be a new trick he is trying out."
"So he puts new things into his Decks?" Hearing that Allie wondered if the new summon methods are a way to get better results in his Decks or such. Probably much more than that but it did take them off guard for certain.
Zuzu nodded over figuring that was the case. "Like Aura said, his Fusion Deck has Ritual that acts as an option. Maybe the other summons within it serve the same purpose, or maybe more." They all nodded and it was easy to understand. They turned back to see what else is next for what they will see.
"Okay, next up, I'm gonna tune Level 2 Force Resonator with Level 4 Photon Thrasher!" Force Resonator flew up turning to 2 rings while Photon Thrasher jumped turning to 4 stars synchronizing together.

You can only use this effect of "Muddy Mudragon" once per turn.
"Isn't that... Baby Mudragon?"
"No, I think that's Mudragon of the Swamp." Julia denied Kit's claim seeing this confused from how this looked. This Synchro Monster looked like the two aforementioned Mudragon cards but she doesn't recall this one. They both work on Synchro, and Fusion methods so this must be the combined strength of both of those monsters.
"Well whatever it is, it's too weak to do anything." Sylvio spoke over seeing the ATK of the Synchro Monster, and balked at it since it has a measly 500.
"And now since I have a Level 5 or higher DARK monster on the field, I can take Vision Resonator from my hand, and play it!" Dan takes Vision Resonator's card placing it on his Duel Disk that made the monster appear.
Raising was another Resonator this time having a purple robe with some tattered red, and black scarf while it has things on it's back as a large scythe blade, and some sort of accessory beside it while on it's chest was the crest of the Fortune Ladies, the Deck of Spellcasters that Carly Carmine uses after being revived as a Dark Signer.

"It's Red Dragon Archfiend!" Allie called with a big smile seeing it always feeling goosebumps whenever this monster was summoned, it looked so cool, and it's a Synchro Monster as well her favorite summon method.
All of the audience looked at this monster in awe, and shock on their faces as well. This monster looks MEAN but that sort of charm appeals with them all. It's like that it can force everyone to respect it which is what they can all feel wondering how this young man manages to use a monster such as this so easily.
"As Vision Resonator was sent to the graveyard, I can take a Spell or Trap Card that mentions Red Dragon Archfiend, and add it to my hand!" Dan searches his Deck taking, Red Dragon Vase, adding it to his hand. "And now, Red Dragon Archfiend attack the Wicked Token! Absolute Power Force!" His dragon charged energy in its fist charging over to attack the Wicked Token as from this attack the leftover damage of 2000 will be enough to win against Hector as he had paid 2000 from Demise earlier.
But Hector has a defense against that. "I don't think so. I use the Action Spell, Miracle!" He reveals Miracle placing it before Red Dragon Archfiend's attack can hit home.

If a monster on the field battles: Target that monster; it cannot be destroyed by that battle, also any battle damage is halved.
"So now my Wicked Token avoids being destroyed, and any damage I take is cut in half!"
The Wicked Token hissed as Red Dragon Archfiend shot down its fist smacking onto the Wicked Token. Although the powerful attack didn't destroy the Wicked Token, it did score some damage towards Hector. (Hector: 0900/Hand: 3)
"Okay then, I'll just have to proceed further to assault!" Dan grinned that Hector looked alarmed thinking Dan is gonna physically harm him. Ray herself face-palmed from such a bad way to word things on what he meant. "Wait, no, not the assault you're thinking of!" To his credit, Dan quickly realized how it sounded, and corrected himself while taking Assault Mode Zero. "I mean, like this! Assault-"
"Wait, Dan!" Quickly seeing what Dan was planning to do, Ray stopped him from continuing and he looked over to her surprised, and confused. Why is she stopping him? "Assault Mode Zero isn't like Assault Mode Activate! It can only summon the monster you want to use from the hand, Assault Mode Activate, only summons monsters from the Deck!" Hearing this Dan looked at the spell card to see, and sure enough it can only summon said monster from the hand. So his combo wouldn't work without the monster he needs from the hand.
"Oh... man, I really need to get better focused on this when I can." Dan spoke frowning that he almost made a mistake if Ray hadn't said anything. He turned to Hector who looked confused over what's keeping him. "Sorry, I didn't read my card right! I'll end the battle, and end my turn!" Left with only, Red Dragon Archfiend who can overpower Ruin, Dan is ready for whatever Hector can do. At least he hopes, he added Red Dragon Vase in case the monster he planned on summoning gets destroyed so he can use it without consequences.
Dan's Hand: 2/Field: Red Dragon Archfiend (Attack Position)
Hector 3rd Turn:
"How embarrassing, he didn't think of reading his cards?" Sylvio spoke his opinion on Dan now dropping if he can't read his cards to save his life like that. He probably must've defeated Kit by being real familiar with the Deck as they didn't require reading if he memorizes the effects, and uses them like the back of his hand.
"Well they are pretty new then when me, Dipper, and Kit saw him duel, so he must've added them, and haven't yet got familiar with them." Julia suggested that might be the reason. Some duelists often make the same mistake with new cards in the Deck, they haven't used, and got unfamiliar with them.
"Still Julia, it's not a good impression for whatever Duel School you're representing here if you make mistakes like that." Kit spoke as from that aside, some people are probably gonna think You Show is all that from how that looked. Yeah, not really a good impression if you make a fool of yourself.
"My turn now!" Hector drew checking before turning, and takes an Action Card that Ruin had taken nearby, and hands it to him that he smiles. "Thank you, Ruin." Dan blinked seeing this as Hector takes the Action Spell while Ruin smiled warmly before turning back to Red Dragon Archfiend with a ready look. "For my first move at this turn, I will use the spell card, you used during your turn! Monster Reincarnation!" He shows his own copy of the spell as it rose on his field. "By sacrificing a card from my hand, I can take 1 monster card from the graveyard, and add it to my hand." Hector discards the Action Card, Ruin gave him, and Candoll's card exited the graveyard that he takes. "And next up, I'll reveal Impcantation Candoll from my hand to use it's special ability!" He shows Candoll, and End of the World from his hand. "I reveal a Ritual Spell card from my hand to both summon Candoll, and 1 Impcantation from my Deck! So come Impcantation Candoll!"
Raising in between the Wicked Token, and Ruin, was Candoll as its flame chuckled sinisterly while it's candle looked weak.

"And when this monster is summoned from my Deck, I can take a Ritual Monster from my graveyard, add him back to my hand!" The card ejected as Hector shows Demise's card placing it in his hand and Dan looks alarmed seeing this. Hector then takes his revealed card. "And now I activate the End of the World!"
Unlike Cycle of the World that shows it's artwork upside down, this one shows the same city rightside up but looked to be under complete destruction of purple flames almost like the terror of the Earthbound Immortals when they manifested, and the same crest was at the sky while a flaming altar was shooting purple flames to the sky. There was also no silhouette of Demise behind it.
Of course, anyone familiar with Ruin, and Demise, should know this is the original Ritual Spell for the two.
End of the World
Ritual Spell Card
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Ruin, Queen of Oblivion" or "Demise, King of Armageddon". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels exactly equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon.
"I take monsters who's Level's equal exactly the Level of 1 of the two monsters I aim to summon from my hand or field to Ritual Summon! And I'll sacrifice my Level 4s Impcantation Candoll, and Wicked Token!" Both monsters were sacrificed as the crest appeared from purple flames. Everyone stood watching seeing the original Ritual Spell for his Deck is being used right now, and he's bringing the bringer of destruction with it!
"The contract of Armageddon has been made! The king of Armageddon gains the power of these souls to judge those unworthy! Ritual Summon! Revive to destroy the world! Level 8, Demise, King of Armageddon!"
Forming from the Ritual Summon was Demise as he rose beside Ruin cackling evilly while Impcantation Pencilplume is beside them.

"Now I have to face both Ruin, and Demise at the same time now?" Dan asked, seeing this looking shocked that the two original Ritual Monsters are now summoned on the field. He didn't think that anyone would manage to summon both of them at once, but Hector apparently managed to do just that. Now that Demise is back onto the field for revenge, and ready to use its effect to destroy everything.
But Hector starts running as Ruin, and Demise together flies while Hector takes an Action Card before Demise takes 2, and Ruin takes one before flying back as Hector sets the Action Card he grabbed before smiling as he takes the Action Cards his monsters grabbed, setting them as well that everyone looked surprised about. Hector's monsters are collecting Action Cards as well, is that even within the rules? But Hector reveals why they were grabbing them. "Now I activate Gryphon's Feather Duster!" A spell that shows Harpie's Feather Duster sweeping away a different set of cards rose on the field.
Gryphon's Feather Duster
Normal Spell Card
Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on your side of the field. Increase your Life Points by the number of destroyed cards x 500 points.
"I destroy all Spell and Trap cards on my field to regain 500 points for each of them!" All four of his set Action Spells all shattered as he glowed recovering half of his points. (Hector: 2900/Hand: 1) So he regained the strength to use Demise's special ability if he wanted to now. Of course, the move to do so took everyone by surprise not expecting Hector to use Action Cards like that.
"Whoa, how can he do that?"
"Well, there is nothing in the rules that he can't." Skip admitted to Sora shrugging. "Monsters interact with you in a duel, and it doesn't mean they can't assist in getting Action Cards. And from how that looked, he can use many of the Action Spells here to regain strength." Such a strategy is unheard of, he never seen or heard of anyone using Action Cards like this before. He had seen Yuya with his Wonder Balloons against the Sledgehammer but he didn't think that anyone could use Action Cards like this.
"That's not fair though, he gained a lot of points thanks to that! And his monsters helped him have an Action Card ready whenever he needed one!"
"Which is the point, Frederick." Zuzu spoke to him as she had a frown staring at the match. Although she, and her friends interacted with their monsters they never once considered the thought of having them assist them in getting Action Spells or using them to gain advantages such as Life Point gain tactics. If Hector is able to do this, then Dan is in for a harder fight than she expected.
"Gong has a bad feeling that Little D will be in bigger trouble..." Gong spoke to himself while watching, hoping Dan will come through against this.
While Sylvio couldn't help being a little impressed, Kit, Dipper, and Julia were all grinning (or smiling in Julia's case) at seeing this. That's exactly the Hector they know as the best in the Ritual Course. As evident from all he's been doing, he uses old cards that people often mocked, and don't think are good enough. While Gryphon's Feather Duster is overshadowed by its Quick-Play Spell counterpart, Emergency Provisions, Hector does make sure that Gryphon's Feather Duster is just as good to use by using it like that, or with other cards that rely on being destroyed. And the part about his monsters, it's like they truly are a team, they aren't sure what Hector's secret is, but can feel it's something they won't understand.
Cause in fact, Hector has a special ability. To be able to see, and interact with Duel Spirits. Not everyone has the special ability, and Hector is glad to know he can communicate with monsters for dueling to be truly bonded onto the duelists. It's thanks to his spirits, the two Rituals, and the Impcantations alongside all the others in his Desk, he had gotten this far. It was them who suggested they show Ritual is just as important as the other methods by bringing the idea of a Ritual Duel Course to Declan, and show them all what their bond can do.
No-one would of course believe him about it so he tries to keep it to himself most of the time if he could. And now they are certainly interested in Dan if he can last against them, and do all of this despite what they've all heard about him.
"Quite a one of a kind young man. Reminds me of Hector." Ruin spoke telepathically towards Hector, and Demise with a warm smile being sensed. They figured they could talk telepathically to each other to avoid suspicion outside of duels. Sometimes in Action Duels, they can be allowed to speak although not too often. Hector had told them during his turns to wait until he said they could search for Action Cards, and now with Gryphon's Feather Duster they are allowed with Demise standing ground while Hector gets the cards himself at that point.
"I remember Hector paying attention to his cards."
"Well, I suppose you have no hard feelings for defeating you earlier, did you?"
Demise growled over towards Ruin from this who grinned. Seeing this Hector spoke over with his mind. "Okay, that's enough for you two, we need to focus here." Hearing this the two Ritual Monsters nod in his mind as they turn back. "Okay, we will start by attacking, Red Dragon Archfiend with Ruin. Then either her, or Demise can attack."
"Hold on Hector, you're not gonna use my special ability?" Demise questioned hearing that plan as with Hector's points now able to afford for his special ability, they can just destroy Red Dragon Archfiend then, and there, and then attack directly for game. Although that's a sound plan in of itself, Hector does have a personal reason why.
"Don't want to destroy Ruin with it." Hector spoke as he looked at Ruin who turned to him smiling. She's pretty much his mother figure in place of his actual mother as she's been dead since he was born. Hector was orphaned from a young age, and before moving to the Leo Institute, he had lived with only his older brother who spends too much time at work to be home to support both of them. And now closest to a family he has are his monsters, and his fellow members of the LID Quintet (minus Sylvio). So he won't destroy Ruin if it's the right move to do even with Demise's ability.
"Okay then!" Hector declared before looking as Ruin readied an attack. "Ruin, Queen of Oblivion attacks Red Dragon Archfiend!" Ruin moved up ready charging down towards Red Dragon Archfiend who growled over as Ruin moved. Dan turns and runs over to find an Action Card while Demise grabs one handing it to Hector who heads over taking it before calling. "And I use the Action Spell, Encore!"

"This card takes the effect of an Action Card in my graveyard!" Hector explained as it transformed into a High Dive. "And I'll pick High Dive, one of the cards that was destroyed from the effect of Gryphon's Feather Duster! It allows Ruin to gain 1000 points!" Ruin felt energized from the Action Spell ready as she charged up.

Seeing this Dan looked around jumping around the Moonbase's solar rings looking around to try finding an Action Card. He looks before Ray speaks beside him. "You're right!" He turned seeing an Action Spell laying between the panels that he quickly takes as Ruin charges in towards Red Dragon Archfiend.
"I activate the Action Spell, Choice Choice!" Dan called quickly as Choice Choice appeared on the field.

Hector takes an Action Card checking it, and seeing it's not an Action Card he needs just shrugs while taking a look at the Ritual Spell he has in his hand. Dan 4th Turn:
'Okay need to think of a plan... what to do.' Dan moved to draw only to hear something. "Huh?" He looked down to his Deck. "Ray, did you hear that?"
"Yes, I did." Ray spoke with a soft smile as Dan drew the card seeing it's a monster card but not any monster card.
"An... kuriboh?" Dan read the name confused seeing this, never seeing this card before. It looks like a Kuriboh but not any he recognizes. In fact, he didn't recall putting this card into his Deck, wondering how it got in. "Ray, did you put this card in my Deck?"
"Yes, but not my decision. It was hers." Dan blinked confused what Ray meant by that only for something to appear in his face that he yelped.
"Kuri, kuri!" It was the Ankuriboh card who looked excited. She looks like a kuriboh that's purple furred unlike the other Kuribohs he remembers, she also has golden wing decorative on both sides of her head with hands, and feet the same shade as them while also having magenta eyes, and having golden decorative on her head with one shaping as an Egyptian Cross better known as an Ankh which is what the original Monster Reborn's artwork featured.
"Whoa!" Dan spoke surprised for a bit. Then he stares at her while Ankuriboh giggles, kuris while she sees him staring at her like this. "Where'd she come from?"
"She's my personal little friend, Dan." Ray explained to him with a smile as Dan paid attention. "She helps me out of a lot of sticky situations, trust me you're gonna need her for our task here. She rather insisted, I might add, but I think it would be a good idea, if she's under your care for a while. Take a look at what she does."
Dan checks over Ankuriboh's card reading her effects. Interesting... She can revive a monster back for a shield that can benefit him or something, or can take Monster Reborn from anywhere to use to summon back a strong monster. "I see... she's a powerful little gal."
"I know, right?" Ray smiled from this while Ankuriboh looked proud of herself from this. "And you did say, you always wanted your own unique Kuriboh, now she can fill that gap." It's true, he wanted his own unique Kuriboh but they are hard to come by even since most of them are kind of awkward to use. He's pretty sure they can be used right, but they are awkward to try using. Now he has a Kuriboh nobody has seen yet, and looks to be a nice callback to the usefulness of Monster Reborn.
So he made his decision easy. "Okay then Ankuriboh, I'll be depending on you a lot from here on out." Hearing this made Ankuriboh excited, repeatedly saying kuri several times trying to nuzzle onto Dan but as a Duel Spirit she's unable to touch him that she pouts. "Oh, sorry, maybe when I summon you or something."
Hector was staring over shocked from this. He sees a Duel Spirit near Dan, he thought he was the only one with that ability but Dan has the ability as well? This made him more interested in this wondering how long it was since Dan's known about this gift. He should talk to him after this since it looks as though their fates are intertwined with each other if they both can see Duel Monster Spirits.
"Uh, Dan Kizami?" Jumping Dan turned over where Nico was staring at him with a sweat drop. "It's still your turn, you mind making a move please?"
"Huh?" Dan looked around, seeing the audience staring over some annoyed, some confused, and some worried if something is happening to him that's making him take a while to do something. Seeing this he played before speaking. "O-Oh, oh! I'm so sorry, I'll get back on track right now!" He'd almost forgotten he's in the middle of a duel from Ankuriboh's surprising appearance. Now it's time to get back into it. He looks over at his hand. Seeing what he can do now, he smiled. "Well Ankuriboh, sorry but I think I will wait to use your first ability for now."
"Kuri?"
Not answering to her confused kuri, Dan takes her card. "Okay, I summon, Ankuriboh in Attack Position!" Ankuriboh's spirit vanished before she appeared for real onto the field beside Red Dragon Archfiend.

"Kuri?" Ankuriboh looked around confused how she got here before seeing Demise, and Ruin in front of her that she yelped flying behind Red Dragon Archfiend hiding while the dragon looked awkward from this wondering how it's now a shield.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... she hates being summoned against strong monsters despite her strong effect when destroyed." Ray spoke up mentioning this to Dan while smacking herself internally for forgetting that important detail about her companion.
"Oh man... sorry Ankuriboh, I didn't know." Dan spoke feeling guilty about this.
"Oh wow that's one of the cutest monsters I've ever seen!" Allie spoke excitedly seeing the monster. Dan has a monster like Kuribohble? Why didn't he tell them all about this? She looks so cute! Even still cute at seeing her hiding behind Dan's dragon.
"Uh, I'm more concerned that it's hiding." Sora, although agrees with Allie that Ankuriboh is a cutie, he's more focused that Dan had summoned it when it should be more focused at the hand unless it's like another Kuriboh card he knows. "I never seen that card though, what is it?"
"Ankuriboh."
Blinking they turned over to Zuzu who stared at the monster. Then she blinked, raising a hand to her mouth realizing what just happened. The name of that monster came out of her without warning. How does she know what that monster is? She has never seen it before, and yet it's so familiar to her.
"Zuzu, you know it?" The one who asked was Yuya, surprised that she knew this card.
"I... I don't know... I never seen it, or have it before... but it's like I know the name of it." Zuzu couldn't help admitting it, finding it awfully strange that she knows the Kuriboh's name despite never hearing, or knowing about it. In fact, a lot of things are weird about Dan like she knows some things, feels like she helped him, and now this card... what is going on, she's not going crazy.
Is she?
"Uh now..." Still panicking a little that Ankuriboh is hiding from her fear, Dan tries to make his next move. Since he just Normal Summoned, he can't Red Dragon Vase now but he probably doesn't need too here. "I... banish Synchro Remission from the graveyard to add Muddy Mudragon back to my Extra Deck, and draw a new card!" The trap vanishes as he draws checking which he sees is Descending Lost Star. At that he looks over. "Okay, Red Dragon Archfiend attack Ruin, Queen of Oblivion with Absolute Power Force!"
After managing to move Ankuriboh off of him over to Dan, the dragon turned charging energy moving in towards Ruin who grunted readying her spear. "Hector!" Said boy who still looked shocked from the Duel Spirit blinked looking to see Red Dragon Archfiend break through Ruin's spear destroying her while Hector gasped, stepping back from the force. (Hector: 2200/Hand: 3 (Action Card)) He looked over shocked seeing Ruin is gone. "Ruin!"
While he's rubbing her head while holding her in his arms Dan softly whispers things trying badly, and awkwardly to calm Ankuriboh down. Boy, when he wanted his own Kuriboh he didn't think that she would be someone who's afraid of the dueling field when she's summoned. Even if her last effect is powerful, he can't bear her to be scared each time he summons her. "Ray... does she always have this problem?"
"Well... not at first." It was the time where Ankuriboh experienced things like Zarc in his duel against Ray that developed that fear the way it is now. She always had it whenever Ray summons her for defense, but until Zarc she never had any problems.
"Well, either way, she'll be off soon." Dan spoke before then looking up at Red Dragon Archfiend making sure he set Descending Lost Star before ending his turn. "During this End Phase, Red Dragon Archfiend destroys any monster I have that didn't attack this turn." Red Dragon Archfiend turned over as Ankuriboh stared at it with slight tears that it looked with a blush awkwardly before gently tapping its pointer claw at her, destroying her quietly. The moment she did she appeared back as a spirit where she's hugged by Ray. Then Dan turned over to Hector. "Since Ankuriboh was destroyed, I can take Monster Reborn from my Deck, and add it to my hand right away!" He searches his Deck, taking the spell, and placing it in his hand.

Hector 4th Turn:
"Okay, my turn!" Seeing that all of that crazy is gone Hector drew checking to see what he had drawn. "And I use Graceful Charity!"
Graceful Charity
Normal Spell Card
Draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards.
"So I draw 3 cards as long as I discard two of them!" Drawing 3 cards Hector checked over seeing he had drawn the monster he needed for the Ritual Spell he had eyed. But as it stands it won't do much so he decides on discarding both of them while keeping his Action Card, and the card he had. "And now I use the effect of the card I sent to my graveyard! Litmus Doom Ritual!"
"What?" Dan looked shocked hearing that. Another GX callback, Litmus Doom Ritual, and Litmus Doom Swordsman? From what he remembered those cards are available yet, and now there is someone other than Bastion who uses it?
"By returning both this card, and Litmus Doom Swordsman from my graveyard to my Deck, I can draw another card!" After taking both cards Hector shuffles them before drawing seeing a stronger version of Demise was what he had drawn. He checks over taking a card. "And next I use the effect of, Impcantation Chalislime in my hand!" He shows another Ritual Monster in his hand of a slime within a chalice. "I discard a card from my hand so I can summon 1 Impcantation from my Deck! But if I don't Ritual Summon then I lose 2500 points at the end of the turn!" He takes the Action Card discarding it from his hand. "So now come, Impcantation Bookstone!"
Raising was a book that's opened while having visible eyes but was sweat dropping while on it was a clear blue stone like necklace that looks exciting. Its legs, and arms are short that are golden, blue, and other things in armor with rubies.

"From this card's effect, if summoned from the Deck, I can recover End of the World from my graveyard!" Hector called as the card slipped, taking it. "And if you thought, Demise, King of Armageddon is formidable Dan, then just wait, you haven't seen anything yet!"
"What do you mean?" Hector shouldn't have anything else. Both Ruin, and Demise are used up so what could he be thinking from this? He can feel something dangerous is about to happen from how that sounded.
"Oh, you'll see, cause you are gonna see the destruction at its finest!" Hector declared while Demise stands behind him ready, and knows what Hector is thinking, what it stares at Red Dragon Archfiend in a stance.
It isn't over yet!
Not exactly at the word limit but I am getting there here so decided here to be a good stopping point. Three part duel, I didn't think it reaches this here. Well now we see that Dan, and Hector had hidden a bit, and now Hector is about to summon a way stronger monster. What do you guys think it will be? Now we are onto Dan's chosen Kuriboh, you all might remember Kuribohrn from the original, yeah I originally wanted to use it, but it's effect is too specific at needing the monster to be summoned at the end of battle, and it's second effect doesn't work if you have no Kuribohs to use.
So in it's place is Ankuriboh, a pretty useful card in scenarios like these. Like all other Kuribohs used by the protagonists used previously by someone that used them before, in this girl's case Ray Akaba. Yeah she is not gonna want getting summoned for a bit but Dan will eventually help her get over it so he can use her second effect like how it's intended to use. Maybe along with that Dan could get to know his Decks better from how all of that came up. Who knows, we shall see next time on the finale between Dan, and Hector. Of course, after that comes Yuya's rematch against Sylvio who is the strongest of the LID Quintet for good reason. Be sure to ask questions, and be sure to review!
