(Clementine's Pov)
I looked down to Violet as she slept. I could see the bags under her eyes, how tired she was. She wasn't thinking right at the moment and I felt like I couldn't help her. Like she had made up her mind and if I tried to disobey her if she was to die then she would haunt me. I hear the door open and I turn my head and see the girls and I place my finger to my lips and point down. They come over and see their dad and they wanted to give them a hug but they stopped and I look to them.
"He's sleeping right now, let him sleep." I tell them and they nod but they take a seat on the floor and look to him. I turn to see her mom and Lee there and I nod as she comes over and sees Violet.
"She told me not to write to her anymore." She says quietly and moved the short hair out of her eyes.
"She's just doing what I did, I told Lee not to send mail in case an enemy got me… you can take our room tonight I don't think I'll be able to get her in there." I tell her.
"You sure?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, you and Kat can share it, we won't mind." I tell her and she nods and looks back to Violet.
"Papa looks tired." Diana says and I nod.
"Yeah… yeah war will do that." I say quietly. I feel her shift a bit in her sleep and I rubbed her head more.
"Can we make him breakfast in the morning?" Lura asked.
"Sure." I say to them and they nod. I look back to Violet and I feel Lee put his hand on my shoulder and I look up to him and he nods a bit. Kat came in the house and we all look to her and put our fingers to our lips and she looked a little confused but came over and saw her older sister. She looked like she wanted to hug her but held back and I smiled at her a bit. All the girls went and got ready for bed and the twins wanted Kat to stay with them so they got extra pillows and blankets and took them to the room. They also gave me a few so I could get comfortable on the couch. I look to Violet's mom a bit as she sat in the rocker and she looked to Violet then looked at me and smiled just a little.
"She uh… she wants to be buried in Texas." I mutter quietly.
"She say where?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I don't think she even knows… she thinks she might die out there but I know her… to stubborn to die out there." I say and keep running my hand through Violet's hair. It was shorter than usual and I know why but she hadn't had it cut this short since I first saw her. She shifts a bit in her sleep again and she moved her arms so she was hugging me by the waist. I look down at her as she moved a bit more and I move my hand a bit just in case she did wake up but she didn't. She just moved up a little bit and place her head near my chest.
"Is she ok?" Her mom asked and I shook my head.
"No, they shouldn't have sent her out… but of course her damn pride gets the better of her and she's got to prove a point." I mutter but place my hand back to her head and run my hand through her hair.
"You never did say what happened." Her mom says and I look to her.
"I didn't know fully but… from what Violet said, she did intend to tell them she couldn't join, I mean for fuck sake her eyes… anyway a recruiter thought she was just a nurse making up stories and she doesn't know why she had to prove anything but she did… and then they shipped her out… she didn't come home that night because I got angry, I told her… I told her if she left, she wouldn't be welcomed back but I was just… I was just so mad." I look to her mom as I say this.
"She doesn't need to prove anything she's done enough but she feels like she hasn't… God it would probably take a bullet to the head for her to think she's done enough… I mean to be fair she'd be doing the same thing with me if I had to go back." I say to her.
"I know why she does it." I hear her mom say quietly and I look to Violet then to her.
"She told you we didn't have much when she was growing up right?" Her mom asked and I nod and so does she.
"Violet was always a hard worker… honestly I think she just wanted her father's approval for something… to get him to stop and be a good person… she probably thinks she'll end up like him but no… no she is just like her grandfather." She says and I look to Violet a bit.
"It's a bit complicated with our family, though honestly she doesn't need her father's approval, I know he hasn't done anything good and I'm sad to say that I wasn't the best mother either." She says and I rubbed Violet's head gently.
"She loves you… you've been trying." I tell her.
"Honestly I don't think I ever thanked you for getting her to talk to me." She says and I look to her.
"Oh I-."
"No, I should be thanking you… I know she didn't want to talk to me, and I didn't blame her and still don't blame her… and I know why she was worried when I told her she was going to be an older sister, she didn't want history to repeat itself… I was just… so tired with work and everything and I thought my husband would change but he didn't… and I doubt he will." She tells me and I sighed.
"But you did your best and she knew it… hell when we were back in Europe when I joined up with them, I think it was Luke who mentioned her mom… well you… and she went off on him, saying something along the lines of, don't bring up my mother you don't know what I would do for her' kind of thing… she still cared for you." I tell her and she looked like she wanted to cry.
"How could she when I… how could she be so sweet and caring?" She asked.
"She understood." I tell her and she sighed.
"I honestly don't deserve a daughter like her." She says and I look up a bit and listen to the radio. It wasn't long till Violet woke up and I look down to her as she moved the blanket higher up so it was below her chin. She then moved her arms back to hold me and I look at her as she looked to me a bit then down.
"Got to leave soon." She says quietly and I look to her.
"You don't have to go to Texas." I tell her.
"Not welcomed." She mutters as she closed her eyes again and I rubbed her head gently.
"Gotta… get up." She says tiredly and I kissed her head.
"Sleep more… the girls wanted to make you breakfast." I tell her quietly.
"Hmm… oatmeal sounds good." She says and I look to her mom as she looked to me, I then look back to Violet.
"You sure? We have eggs and bacon." I tell her.
"Clem can't have bacon… makes her sick." She mutters and I couldn't help but giggle at this.
"I'm not pregnant anymore." I tell her.
"Oh?... what we have?" She asked.
"Twins… two girls." I tell her.
"Hmm, they good?" She asked.
"Yes, they're very good and respectful too." I tell her and she nods a bit as she moved her legs up more to her so she was in the fetal position.
"Good… They need their bottle?" She asked.
"No, they're eight years old." I tell her.
"Oh… right, right." She mutters and falls back to sleep. I hear her mom giggle at this and I look to her and smiled.
"She gets like this when she's really tired." I tell her.
"Forgetful?" She laughed and I smile.
"Yeah… but that's if she's really tired." I explained and she nods at this. Morning had come and I had moved so Violet could lay on the couch but she was still sleeping when the girls got up.
"Is Papa, ok?" Lura asked as she was helping with breakfast.
"Papa is just tired, like Mama said." Diana tells her younger sister and I look to them as they would look to Violet.
"She probably hasn't had a good night's sleep in the past two and a half years… let her sleep a little longer, ok?" I asked them.
"But we want to go to the park with them, we always go to the park with Papa on the weekends." Lura says.
"Yes, but she had a long trip back." I tell her and she sighed.
"But if she gets up, we can go to the park?" She asked.
"Maybe, but she's probably going to go back to sleep once she's eaten something, she's really tired." I tried to explain to her. She was a little upset, but I get it, she really loved her Papa. I hear and look to see Violet getting up and I smiled a bit as Lura and Diana run up to their Papa and give her a hug. She was a little confused but hugged them back and I finished up breakfast.
"Can we go to the Park after breakfast?" Lura asked excited and I look to Violet as she still looked tired and she looked to Lura a bit and then to the ground.
"I uh… yeah we can go to the park." She tells her and Lura was happy as they came over to the table. I go over to her as Lura hurried to get whatever she needed for the park. I look over to Violet as she yawned and I go up and kissed her head gently. She looked to me and I rubbed her back gently. We all then sat down and ate our breakfast and Violet said she was going to take a short nap. I know it was going to be a while but she went back to the couch and Lura was going to talk to her Papa but I stopped her.
"I know she said she would but she might take a longer nap." I tell her.
"It's not fair, she came back home, she promised." She says.
"Just let Papa sleep, she's tired Lura." Diana says and I sighed as they started to argue. I take them outside and we go over to the pond a bit and see the ducks sitting in the water.
"Look, Lura, you have to understand that your Papa is tired, she's been through a lot and she needs some sleep." I tell her.
"It's not like she's going back." She says as she crossed her arms and I look to her sadly.
"I'm… Lura, you remember when I told you that I met your Papa overseas?" I asked and both of them nod at this.
"Yeah, you said you met when you were out traveling." She says and I smiled a little.
"Yes, but you know what I meant by traveling right?" I asked her.
"Because you and Papa were in the military." She says and I nod at this.
"Right and… well having a break like this is sometimes rare… and trust me, your Papa had been there longer than I was, and when she first came here, she snored so much." I say and laughed a bit at the memory.
"So, this is like Papa's days off from work?" She asked and I nod.
"Yes, this week is just for her to relax and get the sleep she missed out on… and to just… well to just relax." I tried to explain.
"So… We should let Papa get a lot of sleep and relax?" She asked and I nodded.
"That doesn't mean she won't go to the park before she heads back, just right now she needs to wind down right now." I tell her and she sighed at this.
"I just want to spend time with Papa." She says.
"I do too but I know to let her rest." Diana says and I look to them both.
"How about this, we make your Papa comfortable for a few days and when she's ready we can all go to the park… you can even skip a day of school, I'll allow it." I say and they look to me and then to each other as they smiled.
"Really?" They both asked and I laughed.
"Yes, really." I say and they nod as we head back into the house, Violet's mom and sister came out and they had some breakfast and they decided to go to the park with the girls so I could be here with Violet. Once they had left, I go over to Violet as she slept and I kissed her head gently. She opened her eyes a bit and looked up to me and I cupped her face gently and she placed her hand on top of mine.
"I know you aren't going to like this but I believe you should take that month." I say as I bend down a bit and she looked to me.
"I… yeah, you're right… I just need to… I need to write to them." She mutters and I rubbed my thumb against her cheek.
"Get some sleep, you can write to them later." I tell her and she nods as she goes back to sleep. I kept an eye on her for the next few hours and by the time she woke up again she went and took a shower and then went back to the couch and I go over to her.
"Sweetie maybe you would like to go to our room and sleep?" I asked her.
"Hmm, but I got to take the girls to the park." She says and I look to her.
"They understand that you just need to rest… and if you get that month off you can spend more time with them, just give yourself a week to rest up at least." I tell her and she mutters something and I look at her a bit and she looked to me. I cup her face gently as she was about to fall asleep again and I help lay her on the couch and cover her up again. She fell right back to sleep and I rubbed her head gently and went to turn the radio on so I can listen to some music while I worked around the house.
It had been so long since I had seen her and she needed the rest. When she finally got all the rest, she needed she wrote a letter explaining she would take the month they had offered and she got a response back the day before she was supposed to leave and I was happy. Happy that she listened to me. It was night time and the girls were in bed, same with Her mother and sister. We were both up and she was laying her head on my lap. I look down to her to see tears in her eyes as she clenched at my shirt and I take her hand gently. The tears kept falling from her eyes and I take my free hand and rubbed the back of her head.
"Vi." I say quietly but she gripped my shirt tighter and I hear her as she tried to hold back on being loud. She sputtered a bit as she puts her face closer to me to muffle herself and I hold her as best as I could. She takes a breath and I could feel the tears hitting my shirt.
"Why did they send me back?" She cried and I look at her head a bit.
"I did… I did everything… I fucking… I went blind and they still… I still." She cried and rubbed the back of her head.
"Vi." I say quietly and then moved my hand to her back.
"I… I fucked up… I fucked up." She cried.
"No, you didn't mess anything up." I tell her and she loosened her grip on my shirt but it was still tight. I did my best to get her to calm down. She finally fell asleep and I kept rubbing her head gently. We were about a week in and she had taken the girls to the park and I was out with her mom and my mom shopping. I was going to make one of Violet's favorite tonight. I was looking at the desserts they had on the shelves, the radio then starts talking about that Carver guy being seen again. I shake my head at this.
"You think she would like this?" I hear and look to Violet's mother as she was showing me some of the desserts.
"Chocolate pie… sounds good… She likes chocolate… so do the girls." I say and she nods.
"Well, I'm getting it." She says and I nod as she goes and looks around again. I look around some more and just as I was passing one isle and I hear some guys talking. I look to see they were in uniform.
"Oh, here's a good one, this chick comes to the recruitment station right, telling me how she can't join… fucking cunt has these scars on her face, yet she can fucking see." The man says and I watch them a bit.
"So anyway, they shipped her off to probably go die out there, worthless piece of shit." The man says and I look to the side a bit.
"You get her name?" One of the soldiers asked.
"Fucking last name is Aldon? Or Everett?" He says.
"Wait… you're talking about Violet Aldon? And Clementine Everett?" One of the men asked and I listen in.
"Think her name was Violet, not Clementine… why?" He asked.
"Dude how the fuck are you even alive?" The soldier asked.
"What's the big deal? Ain't like she's the best." He says.
"I beg to differ." I mutter and I feel them look at me so I turn my head to the side a bit.
"Excuse me?" The man asked.
"I said I beg to differ." I repeated and he looked to me.
"Shut the fuck up and stop listening in our conversation." He says and I look to him.
"Well, when you're talking about my friend and myself, I think I should be included… names Clementine Everett by the way." I mention and one of the guys look like they went pale and I look to them.
"I don't car-."
"Dude no, trust me when I say this, you do not want to start anything with her." One of the men warned him and the guy looked to him then to me.
"So, you must be the reason why my friend had to go back to war… you ever been?" I asked him.
"I don't have to be." The man says.
"Right, you're a desk jockey hu? don't like getting their boots dirty or getting shot at… you get to sit here at home and not worry about loosing a limb, or getting a bullet to the face… yeah I think you'd give up the first day in a POW Camp." I tell him and he took a step to me but he was pulled back by one of the guys.
"Oh, touched a nerve hu?" I asked.
"And why do you think you're so damn special hu? you ain't done shit-."
"Dude, I just fucking told you the name Clementine Everette and you can't get it through your thick skull?" The other man whispers harshly to him.
"Why the fuck-."
"Dude, her and Aldon were the best fucking snipers during the war, the fucking girl with the scars you were talking about, yeah that's Aldon, the reason she got those scars was because of the fucking bomb that was dropped saving my companies asses." The soldier says and the man looked to him then to me and I raise a brow at him.
"I really don't care man." He says.
"I think you should care… Sorry for letting him run his mouth Ma'am." The one soldier says and I look to him. I then look to the dumb fuck as he tried to say something but he was told to shut his mouth. I then hear someone come up behind me and I see Violet.
"Hey what are you doing here?" I asked.
"The girls wanted to get you a small cake, what's going on here?" Violet asked as she looked to the men and I see her frown a bit.
"Shit it's the god damn pencil pusher." She laughed and looked to one of the soldiers.
"Johnson how are you? The wife and son doing good?" Violet asked him and Johnson nods at this.
"Doing just fine Aldon, and you?" He asked.
"Doing just fine as well, what seems to be the problem here?" Violet asked.
"Nothing Ma'am just uh." Johnson says but he falters a bit.
"Better not be lying to me Johnson, you know how much I dislike liars." She tells him.
"Just telling dumb fuck here that he needs to shut his mouth." Johnson says and I look to Violet as she nods.
"I'd take that advise if I were you pencil pusher, unless you want me to tell your commander how you're acting out in public and in uniform non the less." She warns him and he just scoffs and walks off. The others went in his direction and I look to Violet as she looked to me.
"Now… how about you help me and the girls find you a cake." She says and I nod as I follow her.
"Is that really why you're here?" I asked.
"Of course Mrs. Everett why else would we come to the grocery store?" She asked and I see her smile a little.
"Maybe they bribed you to give them a toy?" I asked.
"Alright you got me on that, but they really did want to get you a cake when they saw the dessert counter." She tells me and I sighed and we meet up with our mothers and the twins. I notice the twins had small teddy bears and I look to Violet who nodded a bit and I smile. We all finished with shopping and Violet said that she will meet up with us in a bit. She helped the twins get in the car and I look to her as she was walking off. I tell my mother to go ahead and take the girls and I follow Violet who stopped as I got next to her.
"What are you-."
"I want to spend time with my partner." I tell her and she looks at me.
"Shall we go for a little walk then?" She asked and I nod and we start walking. By the time we got back home we could hear the twins arguing and Violet sighs as she goes in first and we see what they were arguing about.
"I want to help Mom." Diana says.
"Well, I want to help too." Lura says.
"Girls you can both help your mother." Violet says and they look to us. I see Carley and Lucy laughing a little.
"They've been arguing since we told them what you were making." Carley tells me and I nod.
"What are you making?" Violet asked.
"Well, it's between burgers or pasta." I tell her and she perks up a bit.
"Burgers sound good." She says and I nod.
"Alright, burgers it is." I say and then get to work. As I was making the patties the girls were cleaning the vegetables and Violet was working on cutting the tomatoes and lettuces so they would be good for burgers.
"Do you want cheese?" I asked.
"Yes." Both the girls say.
"Nah, none for me." Violet says and I nod as I start cooking. It was a little while before I feel Violet wrap her arms around me from behind and she puts her head on my shoulder. I could see the girls smiling and they were holding back their giggles but we could hear them.
"Should play some music." Violet mutters.
"You want music?" I asked and she nods and then let's me go. Our mothers had left the house a while ago so it was just us four. Violet then let's me go and turns the radio on and it was that ballroom music. She then comes over to me and holds her hand out and I smile as I take her hand and place one hand on the back of her neck. She placed her other hand by my waist and we slowly danced around.
"I wanna dance too." Lura says and we look down to her and Violet chuckled as she looked to me and I smile and let her go. Violet then holds her hand out to Lura and she takes her Papa's hand and Violet teaches her how to dance. I look to Diana as she looked to me and I smile and I teach her as well. The dance had to end though since I had to go back to cooking, the girls and Violet being a big help at that. We finished dinner and sat at the table, Violet got the girls their juice and me some tea. I watch her as she takes a seat and we all eat dinner and the girls talk about what they did at the park.
"And then Papa showed us the turtles, and the ducks, and we started naming them." Lura tells me and I smiled.
"Oh? So, what are the names?" I asked and Diana starts listing off the names and Lura does as well.
"Can we get more ducks?" Lura asked.
"Yeah, Ducky and the others are lonely." Diana says and Violet laughed.
"They are fine, they're in retirement." She tells them.
"They're old." Diana says and I nod.
"But Ducky is basically Uncle AJ's." Lura says and I nod at this.
"I mean you aren't wrong." Violet says and I look to her as she held her beer bottle a bit. I know she felt bad, I mean she got the duckling when she first came here, and she did love the duck, I mean she still let's them inside the house to sleep in their little bed, she still gets them toys too, she does love them.
"So, you three had a lot of fun hu? I should join next time." I say to them and the girls agreed and I look to Violet as she nods as well.
"It's fun when you're there." Violet says and the girls gasp and she looked to them.
"You two are great as well." She tells them and I smile as the girls act a little dramatic at the fact that their Papa didn't include them in being the fun ones for her. We all finished eating and we cleaned the dishes and I make some tea for Violet and I as she takes the girls to bed. I hear them ask her if she was going to take them to the park again and she tells them that they have school in the morning, but that she was willing to take them after school and after their homework. When they had gone to bed Violet comes out to the living room and I hand her a cup and she takes the tea and we take a seat on the couch.
"Are we going to be watching your stories or listening to your stories?" She asked.
"They only have them in show form now, people have been watching the Television more these days." I tell her.
"Damn… kind of sucks if you ask me." She mutters and I smile.
"You just miss ragging on them when you hear stupid stuff." I tell her.
"I mean that was kinda my thing." She jokes and I shake my head a bit at this.
"I think they showed it more due to all the news that's been coming up, with the whole war and Carver, they even talked about the bomb a few times." I tell her and she groaned a bit then took a drink of her tea.
"Well, least people are being updated I suppose but nothing beats the good old radio." She tells me and I nod.
"You know I can't argue with that but I think that's because we're old." I tell her.
"Old you say? Can an old person do this?" She asked as she picked me up.
"AH! Hey I almost dropped the tea on you." I tell her as I laughed and she kissed my cheek. It was a good thing that she was having some fun. She then set me on the couch and I set the drink on the table as I turned the Television on and my show came on. We watched it for a bit and Violet was just looking a bit to the Television and I see her frown a bit.
"Why? Again why would think that the main character has to leave and say it's for the good of everything?" She asked and I shake my head a bit at this.
"It's drama." I say and she leans back on the couch.
"Yeah, drama… all I'm getting from it, is that they don't like their partner and using it as an excuse to run away." She mutters and I look to her a bit and then to the television.
"Hypocritical don't you think?" I asked and she looked to me.
"What do you mean?" She asked and I think of the proper words to tell her.
"I mean… you left… I know you left to keep people and your family safe but… sometimes I thought it was because you didn't like living with us anymore." I tell her and she looked to the side a bit then back to me.
"I don't like leaving you guys… but… I can see what you are talking about… but I love you and I love those girls." She tells me and I nod.
"I know, I was just having those thoughts while you were gone." I admit to her and she looked to the ground a bit. I can see her tapping her fingers on her leg a bit and I gently grabbed her hand and she looked to me. I smile at her as she smiled at me and then she pulls me into a hug.
"I'm sorry for everything I wrote to you… I'll still have those feelings but… I'm glad I'm able to talk about this stuff with you… even though you have every right and reason to be mad at me." She tells me and I look to her.
"I was only mad because you let your feelings take over at the wrong moments, you don't have to prove anything, I mean you did so much, you went blind and you were damn lucky to be able to get that surgery, I mean you were lucky that you could see again… and I just didn't want anything else to happen to you." I tell her and she sighed a bit.
"You think I want to see you come home broken? Or worse in a casket? I mean for gods sake I wish I could go back to help you-."
"But you lost a leg."
"So? Can't I not have the feeling of keeping you safe? Or is that only reserved for you?" I asked.
"No… well I mean… yes, you can have that feeling I just… ugh it's hard to explain." She tells me.
"Could you try?' I asked and she looked to be thinking a bit and I kissed her cheek gently and she looked to me then back to the television and I rubbed her arm a bit as I relaxed on her.
"You can have those feelings, and I can have them too, I mean you and I are great together… I mean in a sense like, well… hmm." She tried to think a bit and I wait for her.
"Like when we were grouped up together, we were great at communications, and taking out the bad guys, yeah we had ups and downs but who doesn't?" She asked and I nod a bit at this.
"But I still feel… I still feel like I have to be the one to do more, because… I guess I wished someone did this for me." She says and I raised a brow at her and she rubbed her face a bit.
"I mean you have but… augh it's hard to explain, like I can think it but I can't say it." She tells me and I nod at this.
"I think I get it." I tell her and she looked down at me and I look up to her a bit.
"You want to do something your father wasn't willing to do for you, like you want to give the girls a good childhood, not the one you had, so you changed a lot to make sure they have a good childhood." I tell her.
"Hmmm I suppose that would be the proper way of telling it." She says and I think.
"Ok, how about I use an example?" I asked and she nods as she pulled away from me and I think a bit and then look to her.
"You're taking what you learned from your grandparents and using that to be a good parent… you take your kids to the park, you get them anything they want, you play with them, all while you're tired as hell and then you take care of me as well because you never saw your own father do that for your mom." I tell her and she nods.
"So, you work yourself a lot just like your mom because you feel like you are the provider of this family, but you also realize that I am also a provider so you don't overwork yourself too much… then when you were drafted you thought 'Hey, I need to keep my family safe even if it means going back to this stupid war.' And you did say that once." I tell her and she nods.
"You do so much for so little as well… you're what's called a people pleaser." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Or in your case, a people pleaser for your family more than others." I tell her.
"You didn't secretly get a degree in therapy, did you?" She asked and I laughed.
"No, but you see what I'm trying to explain?" I asked her and she nods.
"Yeah, I can see that." She tells me and I nod.
"But it's still confusing." She mutters and I nod.
"The human brain is a complex machine that we will ever be able to solve even in a hundred years from now." I tell her.
"Hmm, I should really be talking to my therapist." She mutters and I smile a little at her as I lean my elbow on the couches arm rest.
"And that's fine as well… maybe you should visit her." I suggest and she shakes her head.
"Can't, if I visit while still on leave, they'll kick it back longer and I'd be gone longer." She tells me.
"New rule?" I asked.
"More like my company rule." She tells me and I sighed a bit at this.
"It's fine, I'll talk to her when I get back and I'm not dealing with all this." She tells me and I nod a bit. though it was stupid that her Company Commander made this rule to begin with, and who knew how long this war was going to last, we were lucky with the last one but it's been so long already. When the show came back on we watched it some more and then the two main characters end up kissing and Violet gagged a bit.
"Oh, kissing is gross now?" I asked with a smirk and she looked to me.
"Them kissing is gross, it's during the most dangerous part of the whole story and they think it's a great time to be making out." She says and I smirk a little more.
"Oh, so you're saying if we had the opportunity we wouldn't have made out during the heat of battle?" I asked and she turned red.
"Hadn't crossed my mind." She mutters.
"You liar." I whisper and she looked to me.
"…Ok, I'm a hypocrite but come on, they are being a little overdramatic." She tells me and I nod in agreement.
"Well, the story is done anyway." I tell her as the credits came on and I shut the television off and I look to her as I get up.
"Come to bed this time." I tell her and she looked to me then to the couch a bit before she sighs and nods and follows me to our room. I get changed into my night gown and I turn to look at violet who just got her shirt on so I go up behind her and I kissed the back of her neck gently.
"Hm?" She hummed and turned to look at me and I smile a bit at her.
"Everything ok?" She asked and I nod a little at her and she hugged me a bit.
"Thanks for talking with me." She says and I hugged her back.
"You know you can talk to me about anything." I tell her and she nods a bit. We then head to the bed and lay down she placed her head on my chest and I gently place my hand over her ear and I could hear her sigh gently at this. She relaxed more on top of me and I smile just a little. I then feel her grab my free hand and rubbed the back of my hand with her thumb a bit.
"I love you." She whispers and I move my hand off her ear a bit.
"I love you to you big lug." I tell her and she chuckled a bit and I place my had fully on her ear.
