Coronation of Queen Elsa
Normal POV
Today was the day that Elsa feared the most. Her coronation day. She's been dreading this day since Hiccup left for Cauldra Clay and he hasn't even returned yet to support her. Elsa has gotten up early to get herself ready for today. She was now wearing a teal dress with a sweetheart bodice, a black long-sleeved turtleneck blouse, a magenta cape, cyan colored gloves to match her outfit and she even had her hair in a French bun. All that she needed now was her makeup which required Gerda for that part. As she waited for the servant, Elsa just stared out her window as she watched multiple ships pulling into the harbor. She then saw that there were no dragons in sight because the princess ordered the whole kingdom to hide them away so they wouldn't scare the guests away, just to be safe. Elsa then became afraid as she started thinking about the promise Hiccup made to her. 'You promised, Hiccup. You promised to be there by my side today but you're not here. Where are you?' The soon-to-be Queen thought to herself.
Over by the fjord, ships from both nearby and allied kingdoms pulled up to the docks. As guests piled out, Noah, the docks master, waved to the incoming docking ships. "Welcome to Arendelle!" He greeted with a joyous smile as a French dignitary greeted back. "Watch your step, please. The gates will be opening soon." He said as he gestured them the direction they need to go.
"Why do I have to wear this?" A little boy whined at his mother about the coat he was wearing.
"Because the queen has come of age. It's coronation day." The boy's mother smiled.
"That's not my fault." The boy replied.
As other people passed a May Pole that was being raised with people clapping happily, they then passed a blonde haired who was being nudged from behind by a reindeer. "What do you want, Sven?" He asked, hiding something behind him before speaking in a funny voice. "Give me a snack." The blonde man spoke for the reindeer, now known as Sven, who was tipping his two front hooves in excitement. "What's the magic word?" He asked as he brought a carrot out. "Please." The man said for the reindeer again. Sven then took the carrot out of the man's hand and tried to eat it whole. "Uh. Ah, ah, ah, share." He reminded Sven who stuck half of the vegetable out of his mouth for the man who took it before taking a bite, not caring about the reindeer saliva on it.
"I can't believe they're finally opening up the gates!" A man said who was rushing with his wife.
"And for a whole day!" The man's wife said as she handed her husband his hat. "Faster, Persi!" She urged as they made their way towards the castle. As they did, they passed a tiny but menacing duke, who was wearing taps on his shoes to enhance his presence with two thug like guards who were following close behind him.
"Ah, Arendelle. Our most mysterious trade partner. Open those gates so I may unlock your secrets and exploits your riches..." The duke said before he catches himself quickly, looking around. "Did I say that out loud?" He asked the two thugs nervously.
Everyone was now making their way across the bridge, towards the castle gates.
"Oh, my sore eyes can't wait to see the queen and the princess. I bet they're absolutely lovely." A man, with an Irish accent, said to a Spanish Dignitary who just nodded, agreeing with him.
"I bet they are beautiful." The Spanish Dignitary said.
Not far behind the two men was the royal family of Dunbroch who were also making their way towards the gates as well. "Come on, Fergus. We're gonna be late." Elinor said to her husband.
"I'm coming as fast as I can, woman!" Fergus shouted as he tried to catch up with his family.
Back by the docks, everyone saw that a certain viking just pulled into port. Byt what they didn't know was that this ship belonged to none other than Trader Johann. "Ah, Arendelle. My second favorite place of all of my travels." Johann said with a smile.
"Trader Johann?" Someone asked the trader who turned to see Noah with a confused look.
"Ah, Dockmaster Noah. It is good to see you again." The trader said happily.
"It's good to see you too, Johann. I wasn't notified that you were coming to Arendelle." Noah replied to the trader. "May I ask why?" He asked.
"Oh, of course. It turns out I was granted an invintation to princess Elsa's coronation and I thought it would be rude of me to not go." Johann answered. "I just hope I made it just in time." He added.
"Oh, you're right on time, Johann. Allow me to assist you to the gates." Noah offered.
"Splendid! While we're at it, let me tell you the tails of some of my latest travels." Johann said as the two were heading towards the gates.
Inside the castle, Anna was still sprawled out on her bed, snoring, with her hair sticking out in a manner of different directions. The sound of knocking on the door of her chambers was the only thing that has caused her to stir before the sound of Kai's voice came. "Princess Anna...?" Kai asked before knocking again. Princess Anna...?" The advisor asked again.
Anna sat up before she coughed and snorts, pulling the hair that was in her mouth. "Huh? Yeah?" Anna replied as she was barely awake.
"Sorry to wake you, ma'am but-" Kai said slowly.
"No, no, no, no, you didn't. I've been up for hours..." Anna yawned as she began to fall back asleep while sitting up. Her head then drops again, only to be startled awake by her snoring. "Who is it?" Anna asked quickly as she rubs her eyes and stretched a bit.
"It's still me, ma'am. The gates will open soon. Time to get ready." Kai informed her gently.
"Of course... Ready for what?" The princess replied sleepily.
"Your sister's... coronation, ma'am." The advisor replied.
"My sister's corneration..." Anna said to herself before looking at her coronation dress, making her realize what today was as she bolts wide awake in excitment. "It's Coronation Day!" Anna gasped as she leaps out of bed to get dressed before bursting out of her room, wearing coronation dress. The princess then grabbed the arm of the nearest maid, who was carrying a tray, before swinging her around. "It's coronation day!" She said to the maid before letting go. "The window is open! So's the door!" Anna sang as she saw the windows and doors being opened. "I didn't know they did that anymore. Who knew we owned 8,000 salad plates?" She stood between several maids moving into the dining hall with several plates as she picked up a plate from one pile before placing it on another. Anna then slided along the floor of the hallway until she made it into the ballroom. "For years I've roamed these empty halls. Why have a ballroom with no balls? Finally, they're opening up the gates!" Anna sang as she slid down the spiral staircase before landing at the bottom, near the metal suit of armor.
"There'll be actual, real, live people. It'll be totally strange..." She shook hands with the armor, accidentally breaking the arm off before placing it back in the socket, attempting to hide the evidence. "But wow! Am I so ready for this change!" She sang, looking out a window before jumping onto a window washer's pulley, using the rope to raise herself up to see more ship's arriving. "Cause for the first time in forever, there'll be music, there'll be light. For the first time in forever, I'll be dancing through the night..." Anna sung as she started swinging.
Anna was then later seen in the gardens, by herself. "Don't know if I'm elated or gassy. But I'm somewhere in that zone..." The princess sang as she spotted a family of geese walking. "Cause for the first time in forever, I won't be alone." Anna couched down as three baby geese jumped onto her palms. "I can't wait to meet everyone." She told the little birds before she gasped. "What if I meet the one?" She added as one of the goslings honked at her.
The strawberry blonde haired princess was back inside the castle where the food and snacks were and twisted herself in a velvet drape like it was a gown. "Tonight, imagine me gown and all. Fetchingly draped against the wall. The picture of sophisticated grace..." Anna sang as she swung the golden cord in her hand, before hitting herself in the face with it. She then spotted a wooden bust of a man across the room. "I suddenly see him standing there. A beautiful stranger, tall and fair." Anna flittered a fan in her face and did a slight curtsy at the bust. "I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face!" She finishes by stuffing chocolate from a tray, that was beside her, in her mouth before swallowing. "But then we laugh and talk all evening. Which is totally Bizarre." Anna leaned closer to the bust before grabbing it. "Nothing like the life I've led so far!" She sang while swinging the bust around to imitate her dancing until it went flying, landing on top of a large five tiered cake with the first two layers smashed.
Anna then bursted into the portrait room and ran over to a painting of a man and a woman dancing at a village festival. "For the first time in forever, there'll be magic, there'll be fun." The princess sang, taking the painted woman's place and did a curtsy towards the painted man. Anna then went up to another painting of a man playing an accordian with a woman watching him lovingly and took the woman's place as well."For the first time in forever, I could be noticed by someone." She sang as she took another woman's place from a painting of a man who was about to kiss the woman's hand. "And I know it is totally crazy. To dream I'd find romance." The princess then began bouncing on the furniture, taking other women's places from paintings that involved a man in it. Anna finally stopped in front of another painting of a few people sitting at a table looking at one another, only to make it look like they were all looking at her. "But for the first time in forever, at least I've got a chance!" Anna sighed gently, thinking of what might happen next.
Elsa was now in library, staring out the window as she watched her guests arrive. The soon-to-be queen sighs taking a deep breath as she recalls the words her father told her while growing up before Hiccup came into her life. "Don't let them in, don't let them see. Be the good girl you always have to be." She sang calmly as she moves towards a painting of her father's coronation. Elsa then took off her gloves and mimics the painting by holding a candle stick and a compound container in place of the orb and scepter she'll have to hold during the ceremony. The only problem was the she couldn't wear her gloves while doing it. "Conceal. Don't feel. Put on a show. Make one wrong move and everyone will know." She gasps as she noticed her hands were freezing the candlestick and the container before slamming them back onto the table. "But it's only for today..." Elsa reassured herself.
"It's only for today." Anna sang happily as she entered the courtyard.
"It's agony to wait." Elsa told herself, putting her gloves back on.
"It's agony to wait." Anna then ran across the courtyard, towards the gates.
Elsa then opened the library doors, facing her attendants. "Tell the guards to open up... the gate!" She commanded.
"The gate!" Anna exclaimed happily as she watched the gates finally opening in a long time. "For the first time in forever." She sang as she admired the people around her before spotting her cousin, Rapunzel and Eugene.
"Don't let them in, don't let them see." Elsa sang softly, moving down the hallway towards the balcony.
"I'm getting what I'm dreaming of!" Anna said with glee before ducking under a yellow cake that was carried by two dressed men.
"Be the good girl you always have to be." Elsa opened the balcony doors before going outside.
"A chance to change my lonely world. A chance to find true love." Anna leaped on and twirled around a lamp post that was on the bridge wall.
"Conceal. Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know." Elsa looked down at her guests, who were all standing in the courtyard, from the balcony.
"I know it all ends tomorrow. So it has to be today!" Anna sang as she got off the wall, with the help of a father who held daughter in his right arm, before twirling. "Cause for the first time in forever, for the first time in forever." She skipped into the village square before rushing over towards the docks. "Nothing's in my way!" Anna finished singing before a horse rammed into her. The princess' foot got stuck in a wooden bucket, making her fall back into a small wooden rowboat. The weight of her body caused the small boat to slide towards fjord before tipping off. "Woah." She yelled in fear. Before the boat could fall into the water, the horse slams its hoof on the end of the boat, steadying it. This caused Anna to be jostled up before landing hard on her rear end with a clump of seaweed landing on her head. "Hey!" Anna glared at the horse's rider, pulling the seaweed away from her eyes.
"I'm so sorry. Are you hurt?" The horse rider with sideburns asked, pulling on the reins of his horse to keep the animal steady.
Anna just stared at the horse rider, who she now finds handsome, before collecting herself. "Hey." The princess chuckled nervously. "I uh... no no, I'm-I'm okay." She replied more gently with a smile, tossing the seaweed back in the water.
"Are you sure?" The rider asked again, hopping off his horse before stepping into the boat.
"Yeah. I just wasn't looking where I was going." Anna answered as she struggled to stand up. "But I'm great, actually." The princess added.
"Oh... Thank goodness." The man sighed with a smile, offering her his hand. Anna then slowing took his hand as they both smiled at each other, as if there was a connection between them. The man then pulled himself back in reality, realizing that he hasn't introduced himself. "Oh, um. Prince Hans of the Southern Isles." The man, now known as Prince Hans, introduced himself, helping Anna up before bowing his head in respect.
"Princess Anna of Arendelle." Anna repiled with a curtsey.
"Princess? My Lady." Hans quickly drops to his knees, bowing his head in respect. His horse had the same reaction before bowing too, slightly lifting its hoof out of the boat. This caused the boat to tip again, causing Anna to tumble back with Hans on top of her.
"Whew. Hi... again." The strawberry blonde haired princess said with a blush. The horse saw this and quickly slammed his hoof back into the boat to stabilize it. This caused Anna and the prince to tumble the other way with her on top of him this time.
"Oh, boy!" Hans chuckled nervously.
"This is awkward." The princess chuckles before getting off of Hans. "Not you're awkward, but just because we're... I'm awkward. You're gorgeous." Anna explained before going wide eyed at what she said. "Wait, what?" She asked herself.
Hans then quickly got up on his feet and helps Anna up again as well. "I'd like to formally apologize for hitting the princess of Arendelle with my horse... and for every moment after." Hans said to her.
"No! No, no. It's fine. I'm not that princess." The princess explained. "I mean, if you had hit my sister Elsa, it would be... yeesh! Because, you know..." Anna chuckles, moving around Hans to get out of the boat until she almost bumped into the horse. "Hello." She greeted the animal by scratching its chin, making the horse neigh in the process. "But, lucky you, it's-it's just me." Anna chuckled, getting out of the boat and just stood there, looking at the prince with a smile on her face.
"Just you?" Hans smiles as well, making Anna chuckle softly as she stared into his green eyes as he did the same as well.
As Anna was too busy drinking in the prince's handsomeness, the sound of the bells chiming was what brought her back in reality and made her realize her sister's coronation was about to start. "The bells. The coronation. I-I-I better go. I have to go. I-I better go. Uh..." She stuttered while backing up. "Bye!" Anna waved at Hans before picking up her dress rushed off.
Hans waved back as his horse did the same, but when the animal lifted its hoof, Hans realized that he was still in the boat. "Oh no." He said in fear before the boat falls into the water upside down, taking Hans with it. The prince resurfaced and gasped for air, lifting of boat off of him. He then smiles, watching the princess rushing off.
Down at the chapel, everyone that was invited was now seated and watched as the ceremony was about to start. Among the crowd that were seated at the front row were the vikings of Berk who were invited by Elsa because she thought that since they were gonna be stuck in Arendelle for a while, she might as invite them to her coronation. This was also new to them as well. "Ugh! This is taking forever. How long are we gonna be here?" Snotlout whined.
"Actually, it's been ten minutes since we got here." Tuffnut corrected the Jorgenson.
"Shut up, Tuff." The stocky viking mumbled.
"Really? I thought it was shorter than that." Ruffnut replied.
"Well, how long do you think we've been here for then?" Her brother asked.
"Now that you've asked, I believe that-" Ruffnut began but was interrupted by Astrid.
"Would you three shut up! The ceremony is about to start." The shieldmaiden hissed, making the three shush.
Just before the ceremony was about to start, Gobber turned his head around and spotted something or someone before getting Stoick's attention. "Eh, Stoick." The blacksmith nudged the chief's shoulder with his hook hand.
"Hm?" Stoick turned to his friend who was pointing behind him, making him see where Gobber was pointing at, only to see Trader Johann sitting in one of the pews across from them. "Johann? What's he doing here?" The chief asked with a glare.
"Don't know." Gobber said as he noticed that Stoick was about to get up and make his way over to the trader but the blacksmith managed to stop him..
"Not now, Gobber. We don't want to cause a scene." The Gobber told Stoick who just looked around, completely forgetting that there were people around. "We'll confront him after the ceremony." He added as the chief just nodded and sat back down.
The ceremony took about an hour to unfold and was really simple. It started with taking oaths and greetings, explaining what the ceremony was for. Then there was a quick tribute to the late king and queen they had lost. Now it was time for the main event. Princess Elsa's crowning as queen which she dreaded about the most. The crowd watched as the soon-to-be queen stood front and center at the alter, where the bishop was at, with princess Anna standing off to the side while hearing the choir in red robes sing. While Anna stood by and watched as the bishop presented a golden tiara with a gem to her sister, she looks over at the audience and spotted Hans who waves at her with a smile, making her wave back before looking back to watch her sister's crowning.
Elsa bowed her head with her eyes closed for the bishop who then places the tiara on her head. She lifts her head back up with her eyes opened, only to look down to see the scepter and orb being presented to her on a green pillow. Elsa slowly reaches for them, hoping to keep her gloves on for this part, but was stopped when the bishop cleared his throat, making her look at him. "Your majesty, the gloves." The bishop whispered, making her pause before looking down at her hands. Elsa hesitates and breathes nervously, removing her gloves before placing them on the pillow. She sighs and takes scepter and orb as her hands shake ferociously before turning to face the audience who all stood up.
The bishop then began to recite in Old Norse. "Sem hon heldr inum helgum eignum ok krýnd í þessum helga stað ek té fram fyrir yðr..." As Elsa continued to face the audience, she glaced down nervously only to realize that the scepter and orb were started to freeze over. Elsa began to shake with stress and held her breath, hoping no one would see the ice on the two items. "Queen Elsa of Arendelle!" The bishop finished as Elsa, now queen of Arendelle, quickly placed the scepter and orb back on the small pillow before anyone notices the ice and hastily pulled her gloves back on.
"Queen Elsa of Arendelle!" The crowed cheered as Elsa turned back to the crowd and smiled, watching the audience clapped for her. She made it through the ceremony and all that was left was the party now. She's just glad that nobody saw the frost on the scepter and orb. But what she didn't know that it was noticed by the viking shieldmaiden herself.
-Back on the Island-
Hiccup's POV
It's been two days since we've arrived on the island and the storm hasn't even stopped yet, which is really frustrating for us. Since we didn't make it back it to Arendelle in time, all I could was wonder if I missed Elsa's coronation and hoped that she could make it through without me if I did. Right now, I was sitting against the wall of the cave we we're still in with Toothless laying beside me and saw Agnarr and Iduna huddled together against the wall across from me with Viola laying beside her rider. I then watched as Mpho made his way over to the cave opening and looked outside to check the storm. "Jeso." I heard him mutter the word 'Jesus' in his language before I saw him come back in. "The storm is getting worst." Mpho said to us.
"Well, let's just hope that it'll stop tomorrow." I replied with a sigh.
As I began thinking to myself again, my train of thoughts were interrupted when Iduna got my attention. "Hiccup?" She asked.
"Hhm?" I responded, looking at the queen.
"I just wanted to ask... how was Arendelle before you left?" Iduna asked me.
"Okay actually. I had all business taken care of, had everything all caught up, and even helped Elsa with the invitations for her coronation." I replied. "I even had Kai and Tobias in charge of taking care of things while I'm gone." I added.
"That's good to know. When we get back to Arendelle, I just want to reunite with my daughters and relax with my family." Agnarr said as he leaned against the wall with his eyes and his wife snuggled with him even more.
"I promise you, I will get you two home as soon as I can." I told them.
"Thank you, Hiccup." Iduna smiled before I nodded in return.
I then turned to see Mpho sitting back down before yawning and turned back to see the tired look in both of the Royal's eyes. "I think it's best that we rest for a while." I told everyone before turning to Toothless. "What do you think, bud?" I asked my best friend who just warbled in response before he licks my face. "Ugh... you know that doesn't wash out." I rolled my eyes in defeat as Toothless let out a deep throaty like chuckle. "Oh haha. Useless reptile..." I smiled as Toothless purred, rubbing his face against mine.
"You two are really close, aren't you?" Iduna asked with a light smile.
"He's my best friend. Because of you two and him, I now have everything I ever wanted." I replied.
"Well, we're glad that we've helped." Agnarr replied.
I nodded again with smile before going serious. "Alright, let's get some rest. If the storm clears up tomorrow, we can leave early and get back to Arendelle in time." I suggested.
"I'm with you on this one." Agnarr said in return.
"So am I." Mpho added.
I then watched as Agnarr and Iduna got comfortable by cudding together with an extra blanket to sleep with, along with Viola providing them warmth. I then turned to see Mpho laying down on a sleeping pad with a blanket to sleep with. As I watch everyone who was beginning to fall asleep, I then turned looked towards the mouth of the cave to watch the storm before I started singing a song I know very well to myself. "Sound the bugle now, play it just for me. As the seasons change... remember how I used to be. Now I can't go on, I can't even start. I got nothing left... just an empty heart." I sang, not realizing Agnarr, Iduna, and Mpho were listening.
"I'm a soldier... wounded so I must give up the fight. Lead me away... or leave me lying here." I whispered as Toothless layed his head on my lap. "Sound the bugle now, tell them I don't care. There's not a road I know, that leads to anywhere. Without a light I fear, that I will stumble in the dark. Lay right down beside... not to go on." I sang as I stroked my best friend's head.
"Then from on high... somewhere in the distance. There's a voice that calls... remember who you are. If you lose yourself... your courage soon will follow. So be strong tonight... remember who you are." I smiled softly. "You're a soldier now, fighting in a battle. To be free once more... that's worth fighting for." I finished singing before I yawned.
"That was a beautiful song, Hiccup." I heard Iduna say lightly.
I smiled. "It's one that my mother sang to me when I was a infant." I replied. "My father told me that she would sing it to me whenever I couldn't sleep. I would sing it to myself to help me fall asleep and to help me not forget her. She was just like me, wanted peace with dragons and all, but no one listened to her..." I explained softly.
"We're really sorry that she was taken from you at a very young age, dear. She sounded like she was a wonderful woman." The queen smiled.
"From the stories I heard about her, she really was." I smiled, wiping away a tear that was coming down my cheek. "Rest well, your majesties. We'll get you home soon, I promise." I said tiredly as Mpho nodded in agreement before falling asleep.
"Thank you, Hiccup. You, Toothless, and Mpho rest well." Agnarr said to me before he and his wife fell asleep.
I nodded in agreement before sleep finally took over me. "Goodnight, bud." I yawned before laying down as Toothless curled himself around me. My best friend replied with a croon before closing his wing around me and fell asleep too.
-Arendelle-
Normal POV
After the ceremony was finished, all the guests were now in the ballroom and were now dancing, eating, or speaking with others while listening to the band playing music that filled the whole ballroom. Out of everyone in the ballroom, the only ones who kept to themselves were the hooligans, except for the twins who were over at the buffet table, filling their stomachs. "Well, that was... interesting..." Astrid said as she and the other Berkians stood off to the side near a wall, watching the other guests.
"It truly was. Such an interesting way of the crowning. And it involved Old Norse too! Starting to think that ancient vikings were here, long ago." Fishlegs pointed out in interest.
"I agree on that one." Gobber pointed out.
"Can we go now? Everyone here is giving us looks because we aren't wearing anything they are wearing." Snotlout whined.
No. We're staying until the party is over. Plus, this will teach kids about diplomacy." Stoick replied in a commanding voice. "And attire means nothing, Snotlout. It's a custom, as it would be on Berk." The chief informed.
The Jorgenson simply crossed his arms and pouted before turning to see the twins eats, which caused others nearby to give the two looks. "How can you two eat at a time like this?!" He questioned in annoyance.
"What? It's good food." Tuffnut said with food in his mouth.
"And besides, it shouldn't go to waste like this." Ruffnut added before shoving more food in her mouth, causing Snotlout to growl in annoyance.
As the three continued going at it, Astrid starting thinking to herself about earlier. She thought about the look on the queen's face during the crowning and the strange occurrence with the golden stick and ball, which looked suspicious to the shieldmaiden and knew that the queen was hiding something. "Did any of you noticed something weird with the queen when she held that golden stick and ball?" Astrid asked the others if they saw what she saw.
"No." Fishlegs replied.
"Uh uh." Snotlout said, not interested. The twins just shrugged their shoulders.
"Nope." Stoick shook his head as he wasn't paying attention because he was mostly glaring daggers at Trader Johann for lying to him about Hiccup being alive.
"Not that I recall. Why do you ask, lass?" Gobber questioned.
"Just asking." The shieldmaiden simply said before she continued thinking about the queen's suspiciousness. Her train of thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a trumpet which caught everyone's attention and brought the whole ballroom to silence. Everyone turned their gaze towards the throne, where they saw Kai who standing off to the side to announce the royal sisters with pride.
"Queen Elsa of Arendelle!" Kai annouces proudly as Elsa entered and stood in front of the throne, poised and confident with a smile as she watched everyone bow. "Princess Anna of Arendelle!" Kai announced before Anna rushed to the front but didn't stand close to her sister and waved slightly at one of the guests who waved back. The royal advisor went over and ushers the princess over to stand right next to her sister.
"Oh. Here? Are you sure? Because I don't think I'm supposed to..." Anna asked quickly as Kai picked her up slightly and placed her right next to the queen. "Oh. Okay." The princess said before moving away by an inch as the guests clapped for them. The two sisters then started sneaking awkward glances at each other.
"...Hi." Elsa greeted her little sister with a gentle smile.
This caught Anna by surprised. "Hi-hi me...?" Anna asked her big sister who slightly nodded. "Oh... um... hi?" The princess replied in a questionable tone. This was pretty awkward for the two sisters.
"...You look beautiful." Elsa compliments her sister with a smile.
"Thank you." Anna chuckles. "You look beautifuller. I mean, not fuller. You don't look fuller. But more-more beautiful." Anna explained quickly, not wanting to insult her sister.
But this only caused Elsa to chuckle at her sister's vocabulary. "Thank you." Elsa said softly as they both looked at the party. "So... this is what a party looks like?" The queen sighed with a smile.
"It's warmer than I thought." Anna pointed out.
"What is that amazing smell?" Elsa asked, trying to keep the conversation going. The two royals closed their eye and started inhaling the smell that has caught their attention.
"...Chocolate." The two sisters said to each other at the same time with smiles on their faces before they started giggling. The two looked back out at the party and before Anna could say anything to her older sister, Kai came up to them with slender but short old man.
"Your majesty. The Duke of Weaseltown." Kai introduced.
"Weselton!" The Duke strictly corrected, making the royal advisor jump back a little, before turning his attention to the queen. "The Duke of Weselton. Your majesty, as your closest partner in trade, it seems only fitting that I offer you your first dance as queen." He offered before doing a funny flitter of his feet, a hitch-kick, and then a deep bow. "One, two, three. Jump." The Duke whispered to himself as he holds his hand out and held his head down, making his toupee dip forward showing his bald spot.
This caused both sisters to look at each other snickering, only for Elsa to stifle her's before clearing her throat. "Uh, thank you. Only I don't dance." Elsa stated calmly.
"Oh...?" The Duke said as he felt slightly offending.
"I only dance with my boyfriend." She added.
"Oh? And may I asked where could he be?" He asked, interested about the queen's boyfriend.
"Well, he's not here. He had to... take care of business with one of our allies." Elsa replied with a nervous look.
"Oh. I see." Was the Duke's only reply as he became suspicious about the queen's mystery boyfriend.
Elsa saw the suspicious look on the old man's face and decided to change the subject. "So yeah, I don't dance. But my sister does." The queen motioned to Anna, who just laughed before realizing what her sister just said.
"What." The princess asked in shock.
"Oh! Lucky you..." The Duke grinned happily as he loops his arm around Anna's arm.
"Oh, I don't think..." The strawberry blonde haired princess protests before she was yanked away.
"If you swoon, let me know. I'll catch you!" The old man stated as Anna looked back at her sister, desperately before disappearing into the crowd.
"Sorry..." Elsa gave her sister a small smile as she waved softly.
On the dance floor, Anna watched as the Duke started showboating around her, but could tell that he was just awful and decided to make the best of it. "Like an agile peacock." The Duke said before warbling weirdly. He then hopped up before landing on the princess' right foot.
"Ow, ow." Anna yelped in pain before recovering quickly and tried to dance to the music that was being played.
"Speaking of, so great to have the gates open. Why did they shut them in the first place? Do you know the reason? Hmm?" The old geezer asked suspiciously with an raised eyebrow before getting in the princess' face, making her uncornfortable.
"No." Anna replied. Truth to be told, she never knew why the gates were closed in the first place.
"No." He said as he took the princess' hand. "All right. Hang on!" He then dips Anna back, making her gasp. "They don't call me the little dipper for nothing!" The Duke told the princess, who saw spotted Elsa giggling at the position her sister was in. Anna smirked at her sister before the Duke brought her back up and twirled her around, letting go of her hand finally. "Oh-ho! Like a chicken with the face of a monkey... I fly!" He started dancing around her like a total idiot.
After the dance was over finally, Anna limped back over to Elsa while panting. "Let me know when you're for another round, milady." She heard the Duke said.
The queen chuckled at her sister for what she went through. "Well, he was sprightly." Elsa told Anna.
"Especially for a man in heels." Anna groaned while rubbing her sore feet.
"Are you okay?" Elsa laughed.
Loving the attention that her sister was giving her, the princess gave her answer. "I've never been better. This is so nice." Anna said, cheerfully. "...I wish it could be like this all the time." She smiled at her sister with a hopeful look.
"Me, too..." Elsa smiled in returned. She then frowned and looked away, knowing that even with or without Hiccup by her side, she'll have to keep the gates closed for everyone's safety and to keep her powers hidden. "But it can't." Elsa added.
"Why not? I mean if we..." Anna began but saw Elsa turn away completely, closing her eyes with her hands up.
"It just can't." Elsa added, firmly this time.
This made Anna's smile drop as she tried to not get emotional. "Excuse me for a minute." Anna said before waking away, not knowing her sister watched her go with a sad look. As she moved through the crowd while sniffling, Anna was then pushed over a bowing man's behind, making her losing her balance before tripping on the bottom of her dress. Just before she could hit the floor, someone catches her hand and Anna looked up to see that her savior was none other than Hans.
"Glad I caught you." The prince smiled, holding a champagne glass in his other hand.
"Hans." Anna breathed out in relief. Hans then placed his drink down on a passing tray before lifting Anna back up, making her giggle. The two then entered the dancing circle and started dancing romantically.
Elsa's POV
After I watched my sister leave, I just sadly looked away and stood still, knowing that I just pushed my sister away which I didn't mean to do or make her upset, but knew I had to for her safety. 'Oh Hiccup, I wish you were here with me to make everything better.' I thought to myself. After it felt like a minute, I knew that I shouldn't stay miserable all night and decided to straighten myself with my head high, knowing I had guests to greet. I am the queen after all.
The sound of Kai clearing his throat caught my attention as I turned to see my royal advisor with Trader Johann by his side. "Your majesty. Trader Johann." Kai presented.
"Ah, Queen Elsa. It is an honor to see you again, your majesty." Johann said happily as he bowed to me.
"It's an honor to see you again, Trader Johann. I'm so glad that you were able to come." I nodded with a light smile.
"Anything for the lovely woman who captured master Hiccup's heart. Speaking of, where is the lad may I ask?" The trader asked me as he stood up straight.
"Oh, he's not here actually. He had to help Mala with something urgent." I replied.
"Ah, and I take it that Queen Mala couldn't make it?" Johann asked.
"I guess not, and I was informed that Atali couldn't make it as well, due to her and her tribe taking care of the newborn Razorwhips that hatched recently." I explained.
"I see. Sounds like Atali has important business of her own as well." The trader said. "Also, Queen Elsa. I noticed that there were no dragons sighted in your kingdom, earlier today. May I ask why?" Johann asked me.
"Well, I'm glad you asked Johann. I actually ordered the whole kingdom to keep their dragons hidden so that they don't scare the guests off." I explained to the trader as I spotted Hiccup's father, Stoick, marching over to us, pushing people who were in his way aside, with a glare on his face which made me worried about what was about to happen.
"Well, I believe that was a wise chose, your majesty." Johann smiled before noticing my gaze which caused him to turn to see Stoick standing in front of him.
"Hello, Johann." I heard Stoick say as I noticed that he was actually glaring at Johann with his arms crossed.
"Chief Stoick? W-what are you doing here?" I heard the trader ask while frightened.
"No! I want to know what you are doing here and why it was okay for you to lie in my face about Hiccup's death, years ago!" Hiccup's father shouted which drew the attention of everyone in the ballroom which concerned me. I knew I have to stop them before a fight could break out.
"Chief Stoick, please. S-surely, you must understand that-." Johann began but was cut off by my boyfriend's father.
"Oh, I understand. That you've been lying behind my back the whole time!" Stoick yelled with anger.
Having enough of this, I decided to jump in between the two and pushed them apart. "Both of you! Enough!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, silencing the two. Now I know how Hiccup feels when situations like this happens. I then closed my eyes and calmly took a deep breath before I saw the eyes of everyone on us. "There's nothing to see here! Please go back to what you were doing! Thank you!" I told the guests who went back to their business. I then turned to face Stoick. "Chief Stoick, the reason why Johann is here is because I invited him here and the reason why he lied to you about Hiccup is because he asked him to." I explained to the chief who became defounded by what he was hearing.
I watched as Stoick turned his gaze at Johann, who was cowering behind Kai, for a moment before looking back at me. "Why?" The berkian chief asked, wanting to know why his son, who is my prescious beau, stayed away from his father.
"The reason for that is because after everything you've put him through, Hiccup didn't want anything to do with you and didn't want to be found." I answered. "On the day we met Johann while helping Hiccup leave his past behind, Johann offered to bring his things back to you and promised to never tell anyone about him." I added as I saw, to my suprise, the royal family of Dunbroch coming over towards us with concerned faces, along with my cousin, Rapunzel and her husband, Eugene.
"Queen Elsa, is everything alright?" Fergus asked with concern.
"Everything's okay, king Fergus. Thank you for asking." I replied with a small nod before I noticed Stoick was looking at the Dunbroch royal family and my cousin, along with her husband, with confusion of who they were as everyone did the same with the chief. "Everyone, I would like you to meet Stoick the Vast, Hiccup's father." I told them, making them go wide eyed before glaring at the chief.
"So you're the one Hiccup told us about." Elinor hissed, making Stoick flinch in the process.
"What kind of father puts his child though so much?" Rapunzel asked with disappointment.
"You should be ashamed of yourself for what you did." Merida scolded. All of these comments caused my boyfriend's father to look down in shame for what he did to Hiccup.
The sound of running then caught my attention as I looked over to see Hiccup's former tribe coming over to us. My guess was that they were desperately looking for their chief. "There you are, chief. You had us worried." I heard Gobber say.
The sight of the Berkians caught the attention of Elinor as she quickly came to my side. "You brought vikings here?" She whispered to me.
"They're Hiccup's former tribe and they found us, actually." I replied, making her look at me. "It's a long story. But I ensure you, Queen Elinor. They won't cause a problem." I promised her, knowing that the queen of Dunbroch has a hatred for vikings. The sound of walking suddenly caught my attention as we both turned to see Stoick walking away with his head still down.
"Stoick?" I heard Gobber ask the chief, who didn't answer and continued walking away. I then watched as all of the vikings, except Astrid, went after their chief.
"So." The sound of Elinor's voice got my attention. "That's Hiccup's father?" The queen of Dunbroch asked me.
"Yes." I nodded.
"Well, he seems... big. Kinda reminds me of Fergus." Elinor commented.
I looked over to king Fergus and saw that he does actually. "He kinda does." I repiled before I noticed three royal family members of Dunbroch were missing. "Uh weren't there six of you?" I asked Elinor who turned and saw that her three boys were missing.
"Fergus, where are the boys?" She asked her husband who then realize that their three sons were missing and must've ran off.
I watch as the royal family of Dunbroch became worried and ran off to look for the missing boys. I then turned and went over to my counsin who pulled me into a hug which I returned. "I appreciate that you've came to my coronation." I smiled.
"I wouldn't miss it any other way." Rapunzel said, breaking the hug. "Where's Hiccup and Anna?" My cousin asked me.
"Oh. Well, Hiccup had to take care of one of our allies and Anna... I sure she around here, somewhere." I answered, not wanting to involve the part where I made my little sister sad.
"Well, if we run into her, we'll say hi." Eugene said, coming up beside Rapunzel. "But right now, blondie here wants me to give her a dance." The former thief added, hooking his arm around Rapunzel's.
"Which you will, right now." My cousin giggled before heading towards the dance floor, pulling Eugene with her.
"It was good seeing you again, Elsa!" I heard him say before he and Rapunzel dissapeared in the crowd.
I just chuckled at the two before returning my focus on everyone else. "We'll, that was something." I heard someone say, making me realize that Astrid was still here.
"I'm sorry?" I asked confused.
"The way you ended the situation between Stoick and Johann, with everyone watching." She explained to me. "I suprised that you managed on your own." Astrid added.
"Well, I am the queen and I wouldn't want any problems to occure in my kingdom." I smiled. "So, you're the one called Astrid, correct?" I asked her.
"Uh, yes, actually. What made you guess?" She asked with narrowed eyes.
"Hiccup told us about you after he arrived here." I replied.
"He told you about me?" Astrid asked, looking surprised that my boyfriend has mention her before.
"Yes. He stated that you two used to be best friends a long time ago. Am I right?" I asked.
"When we were younger, yes. We would mostly do a lot of fun stuff together." The shieldmaiden smiled.
"I sure you did." I smiled back before going serious. "He also mentioned that you pushed him away and ignored him all his life." I said firmly, making her flinch by the tone of my voice. "He told me that you pushed him aside so you could focus on your family honor. How could someone like you ignore an amazing boy like Hiccup? It sickens me." I added, being more harsher this time.
"I-I just..." Astrid began but couldn't find her voice. "I just wanted to regain my family honor after my uncle was killed. I didn't mean to hurt Hiccup in the process." The shieldmaiden told me while looking down.
"I know." I said, making her look at me with confusion. "Hiccup told me about that. He also told me that he used to have a crush on you as well, but not any more." I explained.
"He told me that in his letter. When did he stop having feelings for me?" Astrid asked me.
"On the day he ran away." I replied. "A couple days after we first met, we started to have feelings for each other. He told me that his feelings for me felt stronger than the one he had on you. Our feelings turned into a crush and after the Red Death, we officially became a couple. It was the best day of our lives." I sighed with a smile, making Astrid look sad. "I was able to give him something that you never could, Astrid." I added.
"What's that?" She asked me.
"Love and affection. I was always there for him like he was there for me." I answered. "Now, if you excuse me, I have some guests that I need to greet." I said before walking away. Before I could go any further, Astrid's voice caused me to stop.
"Elsa." The blonde viking said, making me turn. "Even though you got Hiccup before I did, I just want you to know that I still have feelings for him and I will not back down from this." She said, making me anxious. "I hope you're prepared, Elsa. Hiccup will be mine." Astrid added before I watched her walk away.
This is now something that I'm worried about. I have to make sure to keep Hiccup away from her when he gets back. 'Oh Hiccup, please come home.' I thought to myself.
