I woke up in the morning to a dream of Damon killing Elena. I wasn't sure if it was just regular fear or something else because I knew that vampires could mess with your head in more ways than one. I was leaning towards the latter when I found Damon was standing in front of my bed.
"I bet you didn't know that I could do that." He stated. I needed to figure out what he had done and also if there was any way to prevent that. Apparently, the vervain didn't work to prevent that.
"That wasn't funny." I told him. "I want you to leave my friend alone…and leave Stefan's alone too. Also, Caroline. Whatever you're doing with her stop it."
I realized that he had no reason to listen to me because I wasn't particularly threatening. Even if he wasn't a vampire, I was still barely over 5 feet tall and weighed just over 100 pounds.
"Well, I wanted to tell you that they can't the animal that killed Coach Tanner and all those people." He explained to me. He usually didn't go by Coach. He had to be one of the few coaches that I had that didn't like to be called Coach even when they're teaching.
"No, you're still here." I pointed out as I got out of bed and wrapped myself in a robe. It didn't cover a lot, but I supposed it covered more than what I slept in.
"It was a mountain lion, a real big one." He continued. Did he really have an innocent animal killed in order to protect himself. I wasn't even an animal rights activist, but that just seemed wrong. "It attacked a hunter this morning. It's all over the news."
"And you're covering your tracks, why?" I questioned. I supposed people would start to notice a series of animal attacks, but part of me wondered if everyone would buy it.
"I've decided to stay a while with my family. You should tell your dad about it." He stated as I looked at the knife on my dresser. I could stab him with it, but I wasn't sure how effective it would even be. "I wouldn't touch that because then I'd have to use it on you, and you don't heal that quickly."
I found Stefan downstairs watching the report of Sheriff Forbes talking about the mountain lion to the local news reporter, Logan. I did know that Caroline's mom was the sheriff. It was nice see a woman in a position of power.
"So, what are we doing about Damon?" I asked. I hoped that he had some sort of plan. As much as I wanted to kill Damon, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to because he was one of the main characters. I hoped Stefan at least had an idea.
"I don't know." Stefan replied. Did the writers really not think about giving him a plan. Was he supposed to get one later? "I'll figure something out and I promise that I won't let anyone get hurt."
He then went to see Elena. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. I didn't know if I was supposed to have a love interest because I wasn't really a character in this show. I knew that it would probably be a good idea to go out and try to do something. For some reason, I knew how to cook a little from my time in the army, but I didn't really want to spend time doing so to make something just for me. I decided that it would probably be better to go to Mystic Grill. I was beginning to think that maybe I should just call The Grill like everyone else did. Once I got there, I noticed that Lucy was there with her family. I also noticed that Caroline and Bonnie were there. Also Jeremy was there looking at Vicki.
"Hey, Faith. What can I get you to drink?" Vicki asked me. I couldn't help but wonder how she managed to know my name. She also didn't seem to remember being attacked by Damon at all, so that mind control did seem to work.
"I'll take a Pepsi." I answered. "So how are you doing?"
"I'm pretty good other than the fact that Tyler hasn't asked me to the Founder's Party yet." She explained.
"The Founder's Party?" I repeated.
"Yeah, the one tomorrow night at the Lockwood house." She replied. Now I would have to figure out where the Lockwood house was. Maybe I could just go with Stefan or my friends because I was pretty sure that they knew. "Did you forget about it? I thought someone like you would been preparing for weeks."
"I just kind of forgot about it." I lied. I hoped that it wasn't something that I was supposed to bring a date to because I really wasn't sure who to ask.
I started to look around to see if there was anyone to ask. I saw that Bonnie was there. Maybe I could convince her to go with me as a friend.
"Hey, Faith, are we still going to the Founder's Party together?" She questioned.
"What?" I asked her.
"You know we agreed that if we couldn't find dates, we would go as friends." She answered. I supposed that was easier than I thought.
"Oh…yeah." I replied.
"Great. I'll come over to your house tomorrow and we can get ready together." She proposed. While it did seem like it would be a good idea since I didn't really know how to get for a party, I realized that there was a problem with that, and it started with a D.
"Maybe it would be better for us to just meet there." I countered.
"Okay…" She said as she gave me a skeptical look.
"I wouldn't want my date to see me before we get there…" I joked. I hoped that it would land. She chuckled awkwardly at least.
"Okay…I guess I'll get ready at Elena's then." She remarked. I breathed a sigh of relief. At least I wouldn't have to worry about her finding out about Damon. "But if you think I'm going to kiss you on the first date, you're mistaken."
I knew that she was probably joking, but that didn't mean that I didn't still blush at that.
Stefan and I both got back around the same time. We walked into the living room to see Damon holding Zach by the neck. He put him down as soon as he saw us.
"What's going on here?" I asked.
"Your father and I were just having a family moment." Damon stated before he walked off. I had a feeling that it wasn't anything like that.
"Are you okay?" Stefan questioned.
"No!" Zach shouted. "None of us are okay! Damon is a danger to everyone in town. How many more people have to die before you see that?"
"I see it, Zach, but I can't do anything about it. I can't drink human blood and that's the only way I could be as strong as him." Stefan rebutted. There had to be something that we could do. He wasn't just going to be able to kill whoever he wants for the whole show, was he?
"Vervain could weaken him." Zach suggested.
"Vervain hasn't grown her since 1865. Damon saw to that." Stefan reminded him. Zach just gestured for him to come with us. He was silent, probably because he didn't want Damon to know about whatever it was. "What?"
I led him downstairs to the basement where we saw the supply. I couldn't help but wonder why he we had this way to stop Damon but didn't decide to use it until now. It might have been plot contrivance. You know I was really learning a lot about TV worked by being a character on a show.
"You've been growing it." He stated in surprise.
"He made me promise not to tell you." I added. He had done that, but it took me a while to figure out why.
"Blood only runs so deep when you're related to vampires." Zach said. "Damon would kill me if he knew I had it."
"But you're telling me." Stefan pointed out.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures." Zach declared. I still was pretty sure that he didn't trust Stefan. I knew he was a vampire, but he seemed like a good guy. "Plus, you're going to need it to handle Damon. Faith, I want you to stay out of this."
"Okay, Dad." I agreed. I didn't think that I would be able to stay out of it as much as I wanted to.
The next day, I began to get dressed in my room. I started to get dressed and do my makeup. I realized that I shouldn't have been surprised when Damon just walked into my room. He seemed like he would be the annoying older brother character to me. I was a green sleeveless dress with white flowers on it. Even though my breasts weren't that big, I was still grateful that this one covered them.
"Do people still wear ties to this thing?" He questioned. I just tried to ignore him. "Hello, I'm asking you because you're the only one that's been to one lately."
"I'm not in the mood for any games." I told him. I didn't think that it would be that easy, but maybe it would be. "Why don't you go bother Stefan?"
He did end up going to Stefan's room. I went to stand outside of it so I could at least try to see what was going on. I wasn't going to go in because I respected Damon enough not to walk in while he was changing.
"You know it's cool not growing old." Damon commented.
"Yes, being a teenager for the last 150 years has been awesome." Stefan quipped. Again, he really didn't look like a teenager.
"You made a funny Stefan." Damon retorted. "We should have a drink and celebrate."
I was pretty sure that was Stefan's plan to poison some alcohol with vervain. I was not sure it would work though.
"You and Katherine were the perfect couple, but you left her after the party. It was too bad that she wanted more, and I was willing to give it to her." He continued. Did that mean that he had slept with his brother's girlfriend? That was a pretty douchey thing to do. I then heard the sound of something being poured out. It seemed like Damon saw through it "I admire your efforts, Stefan. You poured yourself a glass and then spiked the bottle with vervain. I'm not a drunk sorority girl. You can't roofie me. Where did you get it?"
"Does it matter?" Stefan retorted. I had a feeling Damon would find out.
At that point, I realized that I should walk away before Damon noticed that I was eavesdropping.
I headed to the foyer after Damon left and met Stefan there. Zach looked upset.
"I'm sorry. That was his favorite scotch." Zach apologized. "I really thought that it would work."
"I didn't." Stefan replied.
"You knew it would fail?" I asked. I mean I was really trying to act surprised even I wasn't.
"Of course. Now he won't expect me to try again so soon." Stefan explained. He might still expect it. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to underestimate Damon.
"This is twice what I put in the scotch." Zach explained. "You need to use all of it."
"I say give it to Caroline." I suggested. "I think he's going to bite her again and when he does, he will be in for a surprise."
"Well, I need to go pick Elena up." Stefan remarked. Maybe I should have gone with him since Bonnie was there, but we agreed to meet at the Lockwood house anyway.
When we got to the Lockwoods', I once again found out the perks of being a human at the place. However, I was glad that Stefan was able to be invited in. I noticed Bonnie was there and went over to her. I wasn't entirely sure what to do about this thing. I really wanted to monitor the stuff with Damon, but I also couldn't help but think that maybe I should try to have a good time. I also wasn't entirely sure what people did at these rich people parties and I kind of wanted to find out.
One thing that I noticed was there was a bunch of exhibits about the town's founding families…except there wasn't a Salvatore exhibit. Did the people not like us or something? Why was I saying us like I was a Salvatore? I then noticed that Elena and Stefan had come up as well. She stopped in front of the Gilbert exhibit.
"Your parents'?" Stefan asked as I noticed she was looking at some rings.
'There's a lot of history here." Elena responded as she looked around. "Why isn't there a Salvatore exhibit?"
"No one asked us I guess." I answered.
"Hey, there's the original town charter." I declared. "There are so many familiar names on this: Mayor Benjamin Lockwood, Sheriff William Forbes. Is that Damon Salvatore…and Stefan Salvatore?"
Oh, that seemed like it could be a problem.
"The Original Salvatore Brothers." Damon interrupted as we turned to see him with Caroline. I supposed it wasn't too unbelievable that they could share names with their ancestors, but it would be pretty coincidental. "Our ancestors, it's an interesting and tragic story."
"We don't need to bore them with stories of the past." Stefan stated. I was pretty sure nothing good would come from this.
"It's not boring. I'd love to hear about your family history." Elena remarked.
"Well, I'm bored." Caroline declared. "I wanna dance, but Damon won't dance with me. Do you mind if I borrow your date?"
"Stefan is free to do what he wants." I told her.
"I'm not much of a dancer." Stefan said.
"Sure, he is. Stefan does it all, the jitterbug, the moonwalk, the Soulja Boy." Damon declared. I was pretty sure that he was joking, but I wasn't going to lie and say that I wouldn't pay to see that. I was also grateful that Mr. Schue had never done it.
"Sorry, but I'm not going to take no for an answer." Caroline replied as she dragged him away. "By the way, Faith, Bonnie was looking for you."
I went and found her outside. She did look pretty in her dress. I didn't understand why everyone had gone with floral themes.
"Where have you been?" She asked. "I've been looking for you."
"Sorry, I got caught up in this thing between Stefan and Damon." I replied. I could still tell her that, even know if she cared.
"I'm glad there's no drama in my family." She commented. I then looked around and decided to try something.
"Dance with me." I told her.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I want to have some fun at this thing." I explained. "There's no reason why can't have dancing with me.
We walked over to the dancefloor. She was considerably taller than me because she was wearing heels, and I was wearing sandals. We slowly began to dance the music together as some people began to stare at us.
"People are staring." She told me.
"Well, I don't care." I pointed out. "Let them stare. We should be able to do things like this without anyone thinking of anything weird."
I then noticed that Stefan was giving Caroline a drink. The plan was working.
"Is it anything weird?" She asked. I couldn't help but wonder if she was asking what I thought she was asking me.
"That would depend on what you consider to be weird." I commented with a blush.
"Did you want to be more than friends with me, Faith?" I questioned. I couldn't help but wonder if this was how Santana felt, but I definitely wasn't trying to overcompensate by sleeping with as many guys as possible. I didn't think that I wanted to sleep with any guy.
"Well…" I started. However, before I could say anything else, she cut me off.
"I don't think this is such a good idea, Faith." She said.
"What?" I asked. I was confused. I hadn't even suggested anything. The two of us were just dancing together.
"I think I'm going to go." She announced before she broke apart from me.
I was a little confused. I wasn't sure if she had detected that I had a crush on her. I didn't see what was so bad about dancing with a girl. To me all that it looked like was two girls that were trying to enjoy themselves and it didn't have to be more than it was. I probably wouldn't mind if it was, but I was kind of afraid to do anything. Even though I had been the quarterback, I still wasn't very good at talking to girls that I liked. I wondered if I should try to sing something to her, but I was pretty sure that she would think that I was weird if I did that, and it might actually make things worse.
I needed to think more about Stefan and Damon. I didn't think that Stefan was going to be able to kill him, but that didn't mean that Stefan wouldn't be able to stop Damon from killing people. It seemed like it would be a more likely solution. I saw that there was some cake, but Bonnie was there, and I didn't want to make things more awkward. I couldn't help but wonder if I had screwed things up, even though I really hadn't even done anything. I hoped that I hadn't ruined my friendship with her, despite the fact that I didn't even say anything about liking her. It was just very confusing.
I went to the bathroom where I found Elena and then Caroline walked in.
"So how are things with Stefan?" The older blonde asked.
"They're fine." Elena answered. Had something happened that I hadn't noticed.
"Really, my radar must be off then because I thought you were over." Caroline stated. What had I missed? It felt kind of weird talking about scenes that I wasn't in.
"What is that?" I asked as I saw a mark on her neck. I knew that it had been from Damon biting, but I couldn't help but be shocked at how gruesome it looked. I probably shouldn't have been so surprised considering that he was literally biting her and drinking her blood.
"It's nothing. It's just my mom would kill me." Caroline remarked before Elena tore her cardigan off.
"Caroline, did Damon do that to you? We need to tell your mom about it." She suggested. I was pretty sure that her mom wouldn't be able to do anything to Damon. In fact, she would probably just be the one to get killed.
"No, Damon didn't hurt me. Just leave me alone already." Caroline shouted before she covered herself back up and stormed off. I kind of hated what Damon had done to her. I wanted to make him pay for it.
"Did you know anything about this?" Elena asked me accusingly. Okay now I was in a really tough spot. I obviously couldn't tell her that Stefan and Damon were vampires because she might think that I was one.
"Of course I didn't." I lied. I hoped that I was convincing. I kind of didn't want her to talk to Damon because I wasn't entirely sure what he would do to her. I was possible that he could try to my dream into a reality, and I knew that protecting Elena needed to be my top priority. Of course, protecting Caroline also needed to be a very high priority. I really hoped that my plan would work.
"I'm going to kill him." She announced. I was pretty sure that she was being facetious because I was pretty sure that she had no idea how to kill him.
I kind of thought that I should go with her, but I was pretty sure that it would be a bad idea. Of course, the alternative was just standing around and doing nothing.
So, I went and followed her and the first thing that I noticed was that she shoved him.
"Okay that's a little bit forceful." Damon quipped. I was pretty sure that that would only make he angrier.
"Stay away from Caroline." Elena ordered. "If I ever see you with her again, I will go straight to her mother: the sheriff."
Again, I was pretty sure that he wasn't afraid of her. She then stormed off. I was pretty sure that she was trying to find Stefan at that time, I couldn't help but notice that I had Damon in front of me and he looked very pissed off.
"What did you do?" He asked me. "Did you tell her anything?"
"I didn't need to tell her anything. She managed to notice some of the bruises that you left on Caroline." I told him. "But you need to seriously leave her already. You shouldn't be going out with high school girls anyway."
"Maybe you should stop being so self-righteous." He suggested before he grabbed me.
Okay, this was bad. I wanted to scream, but I was pretty sure that would just get him to kill me.
Once we were away from everyone, I prepared for what he was about to do. I was really nervous about this. I was pretty sure that I wasn't about to die because I liked to think that I was a main character as well. That didn't mean that I wasn't terrified. I had a killer vampire in front of me and I was pretty sure that he wanted to kill me. I really hoped that Stefan would show up to save me. In fact, it didn't even have to be Stefan. I just wanted someone to come over and save me. I was pretty sure that I had definitely learned one thing. Vampires weren't sexy. They were fucking scary."
"You know you can't do anything to me." He stated. "I liked you, but now I have to kill you."
"Please don't." I begged. I felt like such a girl begging for my life like that, but I would rather beg for my life like a girl than die like a man.
He bit into my neck, and I screamed in pain. However, Damon suddenly stopped and fell off of me. It was then that I realized. I must have had vervain in my blood as well from the coffee that Zach made me drink. Of course, there was still the fact that I had lost some blood. I felt lightheaded. I was pretty sure that I passed out on the lawn. I wasn't sure how long it was before Stefan woke me up.
"I thought he would have gone for Caroline." Stefan stated.
"Well, I guess that it's a good thing that I was drinking vervain too. My dad puts it in our coffee." I declared as I looked at the wound on my neck. I wondered if I was going to have the same mark on my neck that Caroline was. I hoped that Elena wouldn't notice it. "Do you think my dad will be mad?"
"I think he'll be glad that you're alright and that we got him." Stefan answered before we took him home and locked him in the dungeon. He then bit into his wrist and led the blood drip into a glass.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"You should drink some of this. It will heal the wound on your neck." He told me. "I'm going to need your help get Damon under control."
I then went my room to write in my diary once again. I was starting to get into this thing.
Dear Diary
I may have screwed things up with Bonnie before I even started. The good news at least is that we got Damon. I think the headline should read "DEADLY BEAST CAPTURED. ALL'S WELL IN MYSTIC FALLS"
I then put the book down, took a shower, then went to bed. I didn't know what was going to happen with Damon, but I knew I needed to be ready for it.
So ended up getting bitten by a vampire for the first time, and it's pretty safe to assume that she doesn't like it. On top of that, things with Bonnie didn't really work out. What's going to happen next? Please don't forget to review.
