The house is quiet. Alicia and Ricardo are both off, traveling for various wrestling responsibilities and it leaves Sofia alone here, with the twins and Andre. She smiles and tucks Mariana in, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her forehead before turning to look in at Clara. Both girls are asleep now, breathing softly. It leaves her with Andre, the little boy watching her with wide eyes as she pats her hands on her thighs and walks up to him.
"So, Andre," she muses. "Your baby sisters got two stories each, so I suppose it's only fair if you get the same amount. What do you think?" She hasn't read to him in awhile, and sometimes she wonders if he's grown out of it, but by the way he glances over at his little sisters, then back to her, she thinks that's enough of an answer. "It's just our little secret," she says with a wink.
"Ok," he whispers, slipping his hand into hers and allowing her to lead him down the hall to his bedroom. After she helps him brush his teeth and change into pajamas, he hops up onto his bed and wiggles under the sheets as she tucks him in. "Can we read Daddy's book?" he asks, and Sofia looks up with a small smile.
"You want Daddy's book, huh? Alright, si, we can do that," she says, finding the well-worn book that had once been Ricardo's, until he'd given it to his sister when she was a couple of years old. She had given it back to him when Andre had been born, and now it's one of Andre's favorites to revisit. Sofia wonders if the twins will feel the same about it in the future, but for now, it's still all Andre's.
She settles down next to him on the bed, making sure he's nice and comfortable and warm before she begins to read, smoothing a finger down his nose as she murmurs the familiar words. It's been a long day for the little boy between preschool and trying not to miss his parents too much, so by the time she's made it to the end, she looks over to find him fast asleep, lips parted sweetly as he breathes deeply.
She smiles at him and leans in, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "Good night, Andre. Te quiero. Forever and ever." She's very careful and very quiet as she gets up and leaves his room, the door open just enough for her to hear if something goes wrong. She checks the twins one last time before retiring to her own bedroom for the night, looking forward to starting it all over again come daybreak.
