SmackDown: 3/8/2000

SmackDown was live at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The first match of the night is X-Pac vs Scotty 2 Hotty.X-Pac comes out with Road Dogg. Road Dogg does guest color commentary. Both lock up, Scotty with a shoulder block. X-Pac with a hip toss. Scotty comes back with the moonwalk and some punches. Scotty with a headlock and a superkick which knocks X-Pac outside the ring. Clothesline by X-Pac. X-Pac with a suplex, near fall. X-Pac with a chinlock. Scotty gets out of it but X-Pac comes back with a suplex, near fall. Scotty gets thrown into the turnbuckle but it doesn't phase him. Scotty comes back with some punches and a flying elbow, near fall. Scotty misses a splash and runs into the steel ring post. X-Pac misses a bronco buster. Scotty with the bulldogg and th M! Near fall, X-pac puts his foot on the ropes. Scotty with some punches. X-Pac comes back with the X Factor and gets the pin.

Backstage Triple H is still waiting for Stephanie. A limo pulls up and Stephanie gets out. Stephanie says she needs some space right now and walks off. Triple H follows her and tries to explain himself but she tells him again that she needs some space and she walks off. Kurt Angle talks with Stephanie and says he is there for her and is a real good listener.

Earlier today the hoes have another rally outside the arena to save the hoes.

Shane McMahon comes out with Chris Benoit and the Big Show. Shane says the balance of power has shifted in their favor. Shane talks about Edge and Christian, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and the Big Show. Shane says they can accomplish anything and they have taken out every target in their path. Shane says all targets will be taken out. The first target is the Undertaker. Big Show runs down the Undertaker when he turned his back on him. Clips show up on the Oval Tron of when the Big Show attacked the Undertaker and also when a cinder block was broken over the Undertaker's knee. Big Show says the Undertaker is the American Dumbass.

Benoit gets on the mic and runs down Chris Jericho, the next target. Clip is shown on the Oval Tron of when Benoit attacked Jericho last week on Smackdown and hit him over the head with a chairshot which made him bleed from the mouth. Shane gets on the mic and talks about the next target, Jeff Hardy. Clips are shown of the double chair shot on Jeff Hardy by Edge and Christian on RAW. Shane talks about the match that Mick Foley booked for tonight, Big Show and Chris Benoit vs. The Bladewolf and Kane. Shane says tonight Kane and the Bladewolf will be the next targets.

Backstage Stephanie talks with Triple H and Triple H says they need to talk, but Stephanie doesn't want to talk about anything. Harvey Whippleman comes in and says Foley wants to see both of them in his office now.

Latino Heat comes out with Chyna. Rikishi comes out next. Replay shown of the Rikishi splash from the top of the steel cage at Fully Loaded. Val Venis comes out. Tazz comes out last. Eddie and Venis start out. Venis with a gorilla slam. Venis with some punches. Eddie with some punches and both men fall out the ring and brawl outside the ring. Rikishi with some punches on Venis and throw him to Chyna who lays him out with a clothesline. Back in the ring now and Rikishi lays out Tazz. Rikishi throws Tazz and Venis in the corner and does a double splash. Samoan drop on Tazz, body slam on Venis. Eddie with the frog splash and gets the pin.

Backstage Triple H and Stephanie meet with Foley. Foley fines Stephanie for walking out of the match on RAW but if it happens again she will be stripped of the Women's Championship. Kurt Angle comes in and Triple H tells him to stay away from his wife. Foley says Angle and Stephanie are more then just friends, they are tag team partners with Triple H and will take on Lita and the Dudley Boyz in a main event six person tag team match.

Backstage Matt tells Jeff he needs to relax. Matt says there is a life after wrestling and he can't stand seeing him taking anymore crazy bumps. Matt tells Lita to keep him backstage.

Edge and Christian come out. Matt Hardy comes out and spears Edge. They trade punches. Matt with a takedown. Matt with a top rope cross body on both Edge and Christian outside the ring, near fall. Matt with a body slam and a leg drop, near fall. Matt with some punches and Christian trips him up. Baseball slide by Edge. Christian lays some kicks into Matt when the ref isn't looking. Edge throws Matt into the barricade twice. Edge with some punches and kicks in the corner. Edge chokes out Matt. Edge drops Matt on the top turnbuckle but Matt knocks him off. Matt with a moonsault, near fall. Christian throws a chair into the ring. Matt with a roll up, near fall. Edge with a pancake, near fall. Matt with a superplex, both men down. Jeff comes out and lays out Christian with a ladder. Jeff climbs the ladder but gets dizzy and falls off. Edge hits Matt with a chairshot to the head and the ref calls for the bell.

Post match Lita comes out and so do some refs and officials to check on Jeff. Replay shown of Jeff falling off the ladder and the chairshot by Edge.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly is with the Bladewolf and Trish Stratus. "Bladewolf, I wanted to ask you about the upcoming Tag Team match pitting you and your brother, kane, against Chris Benoit and the Big Show."

Bladewolf rolls his shoulders. "My thoughts? My thoughts are simple; Big Show and Chris Benoit are going to get what's coming to them, and that's getting their asses kicked so badly that their mothers will wish they kept their legs closed." The crowd reacted at that with laughs. "I am pissed off, Kevin. Chris Benoit and I... we've had our battles, he beat me for the Intercontinental Championship and believe me... when I take care of other affairs, I am coming for that title and I don't give a shit who is holding it."

The crowd reacted at the curse word as Kevin's eyes widened.

Bladewolf exhales. "Big Show... Big Show attacked my brother, the Undertaker, like a damn coward. He needed several other men to take him out. What does that say about him? That he is nothing but a useless piece of trash that needs reminding of his place around here, and that's in the trash with Shane, Chris Benoit, and anyone who thinks they can take on the Brothers of Destruction and not get a taste of what hell is like. When Kane and I are done tonight, Big Show, Chris Benoit and Shane McMahon aren't going to be much of an issue for us."

With that, Bladewolf and Trish walk away.

In the arena, Big Show comes out first. Afterwards, Chris Benoit comes out, accompanied by Shane McMahon. Kane comes out through hellfire and brimstone and goes at it with Show and Benoit, but starts to get double teamed.

OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!

'Ooh, wah-ah-ah-ah! Get up, come on, get down with the sickness!'

Down with the Sickness by Disturbed played to a big pop from the crowd as the Bladewolf comes sprinting down the ramp. He slides into the ring and Benoit turns around into a ramming tackle. Bladewolf gets straight to his feet and unleashes an onslaught of right hooks on the Big Show, driving him back. Bladewolf turns and knocks Benoit down with a right hand, then goes back to big Show, then to Benoit.

Kane gets back up and starts fighting Big Show as Bladewolf gets Benoit in the corner and unloads with a fury of lefts and rights, forcing Benoit to try and cover himself up but Bladewolf knees him in the midsection and then tosses him out the ring as Kane hits a big boot on Big Show, sending the Giant over the top rope and down to the floor. The Brothers of Destruction hold the ring as they glare at their opponents.

Big Show and Benoit regroup with each other and Shane, speaking amongst themselves as Bladewolf and Kane stand together before Bladewolf looks at Kane and says something to him, causing Kane to get out onto the ring apron.

Benoit slides into the ring and goes at it with Bladewolf. The two former rivals slug it out in a back and forth exchange, trading punches, but Benoit starts to gain the upper hand and gets Bladewolf into the corner. He lands a chop across Bladewolf's chest, but he shrugs it off and grabs Benoit with both hands around the neck and then tosses Benoit into the corner, throwing lefts and rights before finishing the attack with a big right uppercut that knocks Benoit off his feet.

The Bladewolf flips his hair back and pushes Benoit to his feet before Irish whipping him into the opposite corner, runs after him and hits a turnbuckle clothesline, then scoops up a stumbling Benoit and hits a sideslam! He hooks the leg! ONE! TWO-! Benoit kicks out at two!

Bladewolf gets to his feet and grabs Benoit, pulling him up but Benoit fights out of his grip, kick him in the stomach and hits a quick DDT! Benoit crawls over and tags in the Big Show.

Bladewolf makes it to his feet as Big Show comes over and gives him a headbutt, sending him stumbling into the corner. However, Bladewolf fights back with a kick to Big Show's midsection, followed by a right hand, then another, but Big Show blocks the next and lands a chop across his chest, then pushes him back into the corner to deliver another big headbutt that sends the Demon Wolf down to a knee. Big Show pulls him back up and starts landing some right hands to the forehead, then Irish whips him into the opposite corner but Bladewolf comes right back and... FLOORS BIG SHOW WITH A HUGE CLOTHESLINE! It sounded like two trains colliding!

Bladewolf flips his hair back as he gets to his feet before he walks over and tags in Kane. Kane comes in as Bladewolf gets out onto the apron, and the Big Red Machine unloads on the now-standing Big Show with right hands. Getting Big Show onto the ropes, Kane Irish whips him but Big Show reverses it, Kane off the ropes, ducks underneath a right hand, and... TAKES BIG SHOW DOWN WITH A FLYING TACKLE!

Getting Big Show back to his feet, Kane lands a sharp uppercut before attempting another Irish whip but Big Show reverses. kane comes off the ropes and kicks Big Show in the midsection, followed by a right hand to the jaw. Kane attempts the Irish whip again but Big Show reverses. As kane comes to the ropes, Chris Benoit kicks him from behind! Kane barely moved from it, though!

Turning to Benoit, Kane grabs him by the throat! Kane pulls Benoit into the ring but Big Show attacks him from behind before he could Chokeslam him, a clobber knocking Kane down. Benoit gets back out onto the ring apron, and Big Show tackles Kane into the corner. With the referee unable to see it, Benoit grips Kane's hair and pulls, keeping Kane there as Big Show repeatedly drives his shoulder into Kane's midsection.

'Bladewolf! Bladewolf! Bladewolf!' The crowd chanted as the Bladewolf paced back and forth on the ring apron.

Big Show tags Benoit in and Benoit goes to work on Kane, landing some punches and then some kicks to the Big Red Machine. He pulls Kane away a little before Irish whipping him into the corner hard enough to make Kane stumble back, into Benoit's grasp and he lifts Kane up into a back suplex. Benoit crawls over and covers Kane! ONE! TWO-! Kane kicks out at two.

Benoit and Kane get to their feet and Kane attempts to fight back but Benoit tackles him into the corner. Kane brings down his forearm on Benoit's back repeatedly, then Big Show clobbers him from the side before Benoit tags him in. Big Show comes in and hits a stomp to Kane, pulls him out of the corner while delivering a headbutt that sends Kane into another corner with Big Show following him. Big Show lands some boots to the midsection, forcing Kane down. However, Big Show pulls him back up and then Irish whips him across the ring into the corner. Big Show runs at him but is met with an elbow to the face.

Big Show stumbled back, shook his head, then came at Kane again only to get a boot to the face by the Big Red Machine. Kane then runs and... HITS A BULLDOG ON THE BIG SHOW!

Bladewolf paces on the ring apron before holding his arm out as Kane inches towards him while Big Show crawls towards Benoit and... THEY GET THE TAG!

The crowd comes unglued as the Bladewolf rushes into the ring and meets Benoit with a clothesline. Benoit scrambles to his feet only to get another clothesline, and then another. Bladewolf unloads on Benoit with a fury of right hands, getting the former Intercontinental Champion into the corner before Bladewolf backs up and then runs, hitting a turnbuckle clothesline. He runs to the opposite corner, then comes back and hits another turnbuckle clothesline. Benoit stumbles forward only to be scooped up by Bladewolf who turns, runs and... HITS A RUNNING POWERSLAM! BLADEWOLF HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BENOIT KICKS OUT!

Bladewolf gets to his feet, flips his hair back and raises the right hand, signalling a Chokeslam. He lies in wait for Benoit when Shane McMahon slides into the ring... AND BLADEWOLF GOOZLES HIM! Bladewolf lifts Shane up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!

Big Show comes in and clobbers Bladewolf from behind, but Kane comes to his brother's aid and sends Big Show out the ring. Kane follows him, leaving Bladewolf and Benoit to go at it as kane and Big Show start fighting around the ring and soon up the rampway.

In the ring, Bladewolf gets back to his feet and eyes Benoit before grabbing him, then scoops him up into a fireman's carry but Benoit elbows him repeatedly in the face, allowing him to slide off. Bladewolf turns into a kick to the stomach and then... DDT! Benoit goes to the corner, climbs to the top turnbuckle before leaping off and... HITS THE FLYING HEADBUTT TO THE CHEST OF THE BLADEWOLF! BENOIT HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THREE! THE BIG SHOW AND CHRIS BENOIT WIN THE MATCH!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Chris Benoit's theme plays. "Here are your winners... CHRIS BENOIT AND THE BIG SHOW!" Tony Chimel announces.

Big Show and Kane are fighting on the stage when Big Show grabs Kane by the throat and tosses him back. While kane is briefly down, Big Show removse a part of the stage that leads to the concrete floor below. Grabbing Kane, Big Show clutches him by the throat, brings him over to the hole before lifting him up and... CHOKESLAMS HIM THROUGH THE STAGE!

Big Show's theme plays as he leaves while EMTs tend to Kane. Bladewolf, recovering from the flying headbutt, sees what had happened and stumbled up the ramp to help his brother, with SmackDown going to a commercial break after.
