SmackDown: 31/8/2000

SmackDown was live at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. After four days away from World Wrestling Federation programming, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley made her return as SmackDown kicked off from Fayetteville, N.C. Stephanie thanked the crowd for their concern as to her whereabouts, and for the record, she said that she was at Shane's bedside as the "Boy Wonder" convalesced in a medical facility after SummerSlam. She added that she and Triple H were again in wedded bliss, and that the Game would arrive to the building shortly.

That brought out Kurt Angle, who said he admired Stephanie for putting on such a brave face after the way Triple H "mandhandled" her at SummerSlam. He showed the replay of Triple H slugging Stephanie, and he tried to convince her that it wasn't an accident. He then showed the replay of Triple H and Chyna hugging on Monday's RAW – footage that Stephanie hadn't seen! Mrs. Game was irate.

Chyna then came to the stage and tried to tell Stephanie that Kurt was just manipulating her. Angle turned it around on the Ninth Wonder of the World, however, saying that Chyna attended to Triple H instead of Eddie Guerrero when Angle hit them both with chairs Monday night, again trying to show Stephanie that Chyna was trying to steal her man. Chyna then said she would shove Angle's Olympic medals down his throat!

The Ninth Wonder of the World entered in the ring, and immediately, Stephanie got up in her face.

Angle, who just seconds earlier said he would only hit Chyna in self-defense, snuck up from behind and executed the Olympic slam on Chyna! Eddie Guerrero came down to save his Mamacita as Stephanie and Angle scampered away.

Moments after the segment ended, Triple H arrived at the arena. He walked into his locker room to find Stephanie and Kurt. Kurt snuck out, and then Stephanie slapped her husband, asking why he didn't tell her about his conversation with Chyna. Triple H then left and said he'd come back when he had cooled down.

In a one-on-one match-up, the Road Dogg reversed a bicycle kick into a pump-handle slam, allowing him to pin Bull Buchanan.

An incensed Chyna and Eddie Guerrero went to Commissioner Mick Foley's office, and Mamacita demanded a match against Kurt Angle. But the commish refused, instead putting Angle in a Triple Threat Match against both Eddie Guerrero and Triple H.

The Hardy Boyz and Lita promised to leave their home state of North Carolina as victors prior to their six-person tag team match against Edge, Christian and Jacqueline. Indeed, after a Swanton Bomb, Jeff pinned Christian for the win!

Kurt Angle then approached Stephanie, hoping to clear up some confusion. He said that their kiss on last week's SmackDown was just what good friends do, and that's what they are – good friends. Stephanie said OK, but she just needed space, and Kurt said he'd be there for her.

Next up, Al Snow made Perry Saturn tap out to a dragon sleeper to become the new European Champion!

The Game returned to his locker room for a little chat with his wife. He admitted that he should have told her about his conversation with Chyna, and that he was wrong. Stephanie said that it was OK, and that she was just disconcerted because he and Chyna had a relationship in the past. But when Stephanie went to kiss him, Triple H pulled away, saying that Stephanie could get upset about him and Chyna, but that she and Kurt didn't have a past relationship, so what's up with their recent trysts? Stephanie said, again, that she and Kurt were just friends. But Triple H soon grew enraged, even throwing furniture around the locker room as Stephanie screamed at him to stop.

In an interview with Kevin Kelly, Al Snow said that he wanted to restore prestige to the European Title – for all the people of Europa!

Next up, the Bladewolf vs the Undertaker to decide the #1 Contender for the WWF Championship.

OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!

Dead Silent plays to a mixed reaction as the lights go out, before a lone spotlight shines on a dark robe-clad Trish Stratus standing on the stage with her back to the camera. The Bladewolf then walks out and stands in front of her as Trish sheds the robe and walks in front, caressing his shoulder along the way as the song's lyrics begin.

"He is time. Famine. War. Pestilence you cannot endure."

In a seductive manner, Trish climbed onto the ring apron and began to mouth along with the next verse.

"The End is here. The End is here. Fall and pray." Here, Trish started to get more frantic as she entered the ring. "Fall and pray! Fall and pray!"

She dropped down as the Bladewolf came forward with a primal roar, the lights now flickering red frantically as the Demon Wolf stood in the middle of the ring while Trish danced around him to the repeating 'Fall and Pray!' parts of the song. Bladewolf then beat his chest to the drums in the song as Trish crawled between his legs and leaned against them, the song dying down after the drums and the lights slowly returning to normal.

The Bladewolf removes his coat and hands it to Trish, who leaves the ring to stand at ringside while the Bladewolf faces the stage and glares ahead, adjusting one of his singlet straps briefly.

The Undertaker's theme hits to a loud pop and the American Badass comes out on his motorcycle, driving down the ramp and circling the ring before pulling the bike to a stop facing the entrance. He gets off and slides into the ring and as soon as he does... THE BROTHERS GO AT IT!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The Bladewolf threw angry, hate-filled punches at his big brother, still enraged that the Undertaker cost him the WWF Championship on RAW. He wanted to hurt his brother badly for it.

The Bladewolf begins overpowering his brother, getting him into the corner where he keeps up the assault and throws in some lefts. The referee steps in and tries to pull the Bladewolf away but gets scared back when he whirls on him. Flipping his hair back, the Bladewolf turns and runs at his brother but is met with a boot to the face instead. However, the Bladewolf quickly recovers and lands a big right, sending the Undertaker onto the ropes. The Bladewolf grabs him and hits an Irish whip, and attempts a clothesline but the Undertaker ducks it, hits the ropes and comes back with a clothesline of his own.

However, the Bladewolf quickly got back to his feet and his brother lands a big right, knocking him back into the corner. The Bladewolf surges out, but the Undertaker ducks, and lands a right hand when the Bladewolf comes right back, knocking him down onto his back.

Getting to his feet, the Bladewolf turns as the Undertaker rebounds off the ropes and hits another clothesline, flooring his brother. Hitting the ropes, the Undertaker comes back with a running elbow drop to the chest of the Bladewolf, followed by hooking the leg! ONE! TWO! THR-! Bladewolf kicks out at two!

Hardly bothered, the Undertaker gets to his feet, pulling the Bladewolf along with him., and rams his head off the top turnbuckle in a corner. Sizing his brother up, the Undertaker hits an uppercut, nearly taking the Bladewolf off his feet as he grips the ropes in order to keep himself up. the Undertaker then lands a headbutt, sending his younger brother to a knee.

Pulling him back up, the Undertaker goes for an Irish whip but the Bladewolf reverses and whips the Undertaker into the corner hard, but the Phenom comes right back and goes for a clothesline but the Bladewolf ducks underneath it, grabs the Undertaker from behind and hits a German Suplex. Getting to his feet, the Bladewolf walks over to his brother who rolls onto his hands and knees, grabs him from behind and hits a second German Suplex. He holds on this time as he gets to his feet and hits a third German Suplex, then a fourth, and then a fifth!

Releasing his older brother, the Bladewolf crawls over and covers the Undertaker! ONE! TWO! THR-! Undertaker kicks out.

Shaking his head, the Bladewolf pulls his brother up and lands a big right hand, sending him into the corner, He walks over, but the Undertaker lands a boot to the midsection, then a right hand, then another, then a harder punch, but the Bladewolf quickly retaliates with a hard right of his own, followed by driving his knee into the Undertaker's midsection, then switches it up to drive his right shoulder into the midsection repeatedly. The Undertaker tries fighting back as he brings his forearms down onto the Bladewolf's back, but to no avail.

Flipping his hair out of his face, the Bladewolf connects with a hard right across the jaw of the Phenom, then shoves his brother... AND SLAPS HIM ACROSS THE FACE! The crowd reacted in shock as the Undertaker looked shocked himself, but the Bladewolf didn't give him time to shake himself out of it as he grips his hair and lands a headbutt, then kicks at the legs until the Undertaker is sitting down in the corner, allowing the Bladewolf to press his boot into his brother's chest and put pressure down, making the Undertaker grunt and groan in pain.

"Hey! Hey! Bladewolf, let him up!" The referee ordered but the Bladewolf refused. "One! Two! Three! Four-!"

The Bladewolf pulled back and glared at the referee, making him back off. He turns and stomps the Undertaker's chest, then gets to a knee to begin hammering away at his brother's forehead with quick, lightning-fast right hands before eventually stopping after a few seconds, getting to his feet and backing up. However, he then charges... AND DRIVES HIS KNEE INTO THE UNDERTAKER'S CHEST!

Pulling his brother out of the corner, the Bladewolf covers him! ONE! TWO! THRE-! The Undertaker kicks out again!

Getting more frustrated, the Bladewolf stomps on the Undertaker's legs repeatedly before bring his elbows down onto it, followed by holding the right one down in order to drive his knees into it, causing the Undertaker to yell out in pain. However, the Bladewolf quickly transitions to get behind his brother, wraps his arms and legs around him in a sleeper hold-like move, and applies pressure, trying to wear his brother out.

The Undertaker struggles, trying to get out, then drives his elbow into the Bladewolf's side repeatedly as best as he could, making his brother's grip weaken and it allows the Phenom to break out of the hold, however the Bladewolf starts kicking at his brother repeatedly until he manages to get away. getting to his feet first, the Bladewolf targets the right leg, stopping the Undertaker from getting to his feet. He repeatedly strikes the leg, bringing more pain unto his brother, then switches to clobber the Undertaker in the forehead.

Getting to his feet, the Bladewolf pulls the Undertaker up but his brother manages to shove him forward, sending the Bladewolf through the ropes and down to the floor outside the ring, giving the Undertaker's leg a chance to recover from the assault that has been done to it.

The Bladewolf, making it back to his feet, shakes his head before he slides into the ring only to run right into a big boot by the Undertaker. Getting to his feet, the Bladewolf is knocked back down with a right hand by his brother. And as soon as the Bladewolf gets back up, he is knocked back down by the Undertaker's right hand. Grabbing his brother, the Undertaker Irish whips him into the ropes and then lifts him up when he comes running back... AND SLAMS HIM DOWN WITH AN ALABAMA SLAM!

The Undertaker, not going for the pin, gets to his feet and raises his right hand, signalling the Chokeslam. The Bladewolf stumbles to his feet and turns around... INTO A GOOZLE! However, just before the Undertaker can hit the Chokeslam... KANE COMES IN AND ATTACKS HIM FROM BEHIND!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The referee calls for the bell, signalling the DQ as Kane attacks the Undertaker viciously, getting him in the corner where he throws lefts and rights, then switches to stomping without pause or intent to stop until the Bladewolf grabs Kane from behind and pulls him away, shoving Kane back as he demands to know why Kane did what he did. Kane just cost him a chance at the WWF Championship.

For the second time that week, the Bladewolf had been cost a chance at the title thanks to one of his brothers. On RAW it was the Undertaker who cost him the title match, this time on SmackDown, it's Kane costing him a chance to face the Rock again.

the Bladewolf shoves Kane again... AND KANE ATTACKS HIM! THE TWO ARE GOING AT IT NOW! the Bladewolf takes Kane down and starts hammering away at him before Kane rolls them over and throws some hands, then the Bladewolf rolls them over to continue hiss assault. However, the Undertaker walks up and pulls the Bladewolf off, uppercutting his brother, then stomps on Kane, and switches to the Bladewolf. Kane gets to his feet and clobbers the Undertaker from behind, and now the Bladewolf and Kane start ganging up on their older brother as the Bladewolf holds him down, allowing Kane to get some stomps in on the ribcage.

Suddenly... THE ROCK'S THEME HITS!

The WWF Champion sprints down the ramp and slides into the ring, whips the Bladewolf around and unloads on him as the Undertaker fights back against Kane. The Rock lands a big right, sending the Bladewolf out of the ring and down to the floor, with Trish quickly coming to his side and helping him up. The Undertaker knocks Kane out of the ring, and both he and the Rock hold the ring.

"The winner of this match as a result of a disqualification... THE UNDERTAKER!" Tony Chimel announced.

The Bladewolf kicks the steel steps in anger before he walks around the ring and... BLINDSIDES KANE! The two brothers start going at it, refusing to stop as they fight up the ramp! The Bladewolf and Kane scratch and claw at each other until the officials come out and have to pull the two brothers away, with the Bladewolf shouting at Kane before he is pulled backstage.

And that's it for this chapter.
