Chap. 93: Wave Dynamics

Adisa…

Adisa…

The voice stirred her from slumber slowly, gently. Two softly-glowing eyes, both familiar and strangely not, that swam in her vision even after she blearily blinked her own open in the dim, early-morning light of the Cerulean City Pokémon Center. Unlike Viridian, which had five, or Pewter which had two, Cerulean had just one massive complex with a few smaller satellite buildings toward the edges of town that were little more than Pokémon first-aid stations.

Given that she didn't have a single Badge, Adisa had also been given lower priority for rooms. Many Trainers from their 'class' had moved on already, but Cerulean was still crowded. Thus, she was on the sixty-seventh floor, near the elevators at the center of the huge, hotel-like upper part of the PMC. The window in her room was fake, a softly-glowing projection of a partly-cloudy early morning rather than actual glass that showed the city outside.

Those eyes still hung in her vision, though. Not the same huge, haunting, potent eyes from her nightmares, the ones that still rang in her ears, but the ones that had woken her. Kind, loving, caring.

Not her family's, though. Eyes she knew…? But as Adisa tried to focus on them, the last vestiges of those eyes faded, dreamlike, into wisps and then faint memory.

The memories of the nightmares remained, poignant, vibrant, terrifying. Horrifying, even. But the gentle, loving eyes were gone. Not human eyes.

A Pokémon?

Except that her Pokémon were all downstairs. The belt still lay where she'd left it on the bedspread next to her, though that was rumpled from a terrible night's sleep. "Should go pick them up soon," she murmured to herself, then threw the blankets off, revealing her taut, fighter's body and ebony skin. "Ew… and shower. I was sweating so hard, last night… ugh. I hate nightmares."

Forty minutes later, Adisa Chuke let her Pokémon out after their time in the PMC's healing machines, and pointed out the small travel-bowls she had already put their own breakfast meals in. "Alright, you guys, eat up. It's a big day… we're challenging Snøgrav himself, this time… right when the queue is up, and I think we're first in line. We might have a slight advantage since we got to heal, but I know he's not going to take it easy on us."

Houndour looked up from his bowl, and scoffed, "Dour."

Beside him, Geodude grimaced as, standing on one hand, he shoved a handful of Rock Rubble into his large mouth, then grunted, spitting some broken, gravely kibble onto the floor, "Geo-go."

"I'm glad you two are confident," Adisa told them quietly, and reached out to rub the two's heads, "But I can't count on the same strategy from last night working, Geodude. I'm still going to use you… but expect to be knocked out. I know you're Sturdy, and I'm counting on that, just be ready. You'll still be up first, too. Houndour, Vulpix, you two will be up next, but I'm not sure what else he's got. If it's something Psychic, Bug, or something Houndour would be better against, it'll be him. If not, then you, Vulpix."

"Vul," the cute fox-creature purred, and blinked her large, blue eyes up at Adisa before daintily leaning down to pick up a few more Fire Flares with her long tongue. She shivered… the eyes she could scarcely remember were a lot like her Vulpix's, but not quite. Framed in white fur, if nothing else, rather than flame-orange.

"And Machop, big guy… you're going to be my finisher. Aside from Ice-Flying, there's no type he has that will be strong against you. We might use the others for backup if you need a breather, but you're gonna pound Snøgrav's Pokémon relentlessly. With me?"

Unlike the unconcerned drawl of Houndour, or the 'why waste my time with stupid questions' grunt her Geodude had given, Adisa's Starter simply gave a confident, frog-like grin, then pounded a fist into the palm of the other hands. Somehow, he'd already finished his Fighting Fists, while Vulpix had just truly started making a visible dent in her own meal. "Alright… I'm glad you guys are confident. We've got this. Go ahead and eat up, you'll need your energy. By lunchtime, that Frostwind Badge is ours."

A little over an hour later, she and Geodude, who was walking with her if only to save time later, stepped into the same locker room she had used the previous day. One other person was there, a tall, slender man with a somewhat reedy look, who was wearing an expensive-looking tweed suit. He was mustachioed, his hair, both facial and otherwise, silvered with age, though he was still handsome in that way older men had. "Ah… you must be Chuke… Adisa, correct?"

She nodded as he turned to face her, "I am… you have me at a disadvantage, though."

"Ah, yes, my apologies," the man said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, "Nolan Lambert, at your service. Sorry we couldn't let you finish your matchups yesterday, but Mr. Snøgrav made the right call. Several people might have died if we'd finished your match up before the audience shielding was repaired."

"Oh, it's no trouble," Adisa assured him with a smile of her own, "My team could have really used the rest. I had enough time and medicine saved up to make sure they were in fighting shape, but I don't know if we could've gotten back to full condition in that ten minutes."

"Mm, yes, well in that way I suppose you lucked out," Lambert replied with a smile as he put a wide-brimmed boater-style hat into the open locker next to him and reached up to tighten his bow tie using the mirror mounted to the door. "At any rate, you're a little early for your match. That's good, I appreciate punctuality, but I'm afraid Johann- Mr. Snøgrav- is still getting ready. I hope you don't mind waiting a few more minutes?"

"No, no, not at all," Adisa replied with a smile, "We're fine waiting until the right time, or whenever we're called."

"Perfect. Well, I'm about ready to head up to the announcer's booth. We expect great things from you, Miss Chuke. We've had our eyes on you for a while, Johann and I. I expect great things. He, well… I'm afraid my superior mostly just wants a good fight. Adieu, Miss Chuke. I'll see you after the match, I'm sure."

Then, with a tip of a hat he was no longer wearing, the gentleman gave a quick nod and disappeared back out the door she had just come in from.

"Weird," Adisa whispered to Geodude, "That guy gives me the creeps. And what's that about having his eyes on me?"

Alex stepped back into the clearing they were camping in after relieving himself with a yawn. Robin had been up for more than an hour according to her, but Elle, who was a bit sunburned from the previous day, was still sleeping in the tent. The sun had just risen over the ocean a few minutes earlier, and he was still only half awake himself.

Robin smiled over her tin mug that smelled more of coffee than her usual tea, then gestured at the plate of eggs and bacon she'd prepared for him, "Got yours ready. Coffee's hot. Gross, but hot."

"Yeah, not my favorite drink, but I didn't sleep well last night, either," he muttered, "Thanks for breakfast. Was supposed to be my turn."

The Combinant shrugged as she glanced at the tent, "No big deal, you can take my next if you feel bad. I never really sleep well on the ground, I think. Not used to roughing it, yet. Having you and Elle nearby helps, but it's still not a bed, or suspended in a liquid-filled tank."

Alex shuddered. "Yeah… that would creep me out, no offense. This is pretty good, by the way."

"Remembered to add salt and pepper, this time," Robin told him with a wink, "And I don't really remember sleeping in a tank, but my body knows it did for years. At best there's only flickers of consciousness from when I was growing up, and those are few and far between. They had me either sedated or fully into the older-model VR simulators twenty-four-seven."

"Still."

"Eh, don't worry about it," Robin shrugged, then tossed back the rest of her coffee, grimaced as she dumped out the last few dregs, then pointed between his legs, "Want me to take care of that?"

"Uh? What?"

"Your morning wood," Robin chuckled.

Alex glanced down, to find his cock protruding through the hole of his boxers, half-hard. "Er, n- no, it's alright. It'll go down on its own, I guess it's just from waking up still."

"I don't mind," Robin shrugged, "If you want to fuck. I'm like Elle, you know? She told me your deal… not that you've been following it. If you're ever horny, just fuck her. Or me. We're pretty much always ready to go, you know?"

Alex swallowed, and looked down at his plate, which still held two eggs and three slices of bacon. From… something, he never could be sure if it was a pig, or one of the many pig-like Pokémon. It tasted like bacon he knew, though. "I…"

"You don't have to," Robin laughed, "but if you want to, I'm down."

Alex swallowed, "Er, after- after breakfast. I am pretty hungry."

"Alright, suit yourself. How's Sappy doing?"

Alex frowned as he glanced toward the tent. The Gloom had actually spent the night out, for once, but hadn't wanted to join the still-drowsing Poképile across the fire from where he sat. Instead, she had slept nestled in his arms, and had refused either Elle or Robin to sleep on that side of him, so this time, it had been the blonde in the middle. "Alright, I guess. She fell asleep around midnight, I think, but kept sniffling for a while."

"Poor kid," Robin sighed, "I'd hate to be that… well, she thinks she's ugly and stinky. I'm sure that's the problem."

"It doesn't help that she does, in fact, smell pretty bad," Alex replied quietly. "I don't think she's ugly, though. Just… looks like one of those weird Corpse Flowers that used to grow in Nippon."

"Yeah, honestly, I think she's kind of cute like his," Robin giggled, "but that rotten meat odor… ick. Any way we can help?"

"Not unless you can convince her she's pretty," Alex shrugged, "I don't honestly see a way. I could really use her help against the Water Gym, but if she refuses to fight… I might have to release her. I don't want to, I really don't. But it'd be cruel to keep her and just… leave her in her ball all the time. Right?"

"Probably," the rosette agreed. "Might be cruel to set her free too, she's pretty attached to you, but maybe better for her in the long run. Give her some time, though. You never know, maybe she'll get over it. If she was that strong as an Oddish, she should be roughly twice as powerful now. Grass-types get big boosts from Evolution- most types that evolve slowly do."

"Yeah… still. I'm not sure how to help. If you get other ideas… so what's on you and Elle's agenda for the day?"

Robin yawned herself and stood up to gather her dishes and wipe them off, "Nothing in particular, I think. I thought about going to that clearing you described, but I'm not all that interested in Bug- or Grass-types myself. Honestly, I want a small time. Six, tops. At least, for Battling. So I can afford to be picky, and none of them you mentioned appeal to me. We didn't end up catching any Water-types, yesterday… just played in the water mostly. Might try that today."

"Fun. I think I'll join you. Shooter's plenty of Water-type for me, but it's always good to pick up more options, at least if they're interesting. I've got no real interest in completing the 'dex. There's just too many to care."

"Exactly," Robin chuckled. "Maybe if I had unlimited time and resources I could travel the world, but realistically, the League has all the useful information on every Pokémon around. Only the rarest, like the Legendaries, don't have full information already. Ah… damn. Your erection's gone."

"Sorry," Alex chuckled, "Like I said, morning wood. And talking about Sappy kind of killed the mood. I was hoping she was doing okay after yesterday, but when that Pokémon smelled her and nearly puked… I'm getting a bit worried at this point."

"Same- oh, good morning, sunshine."

Elle grunted, gave both a half-hearted, bleary-eyed look and a wave, then shuffled, swaying as she went, in the direction of their latrine.

"Someone wasn't ready to wake up," Robin giggled quietly the moment the blonde was out of earshot.

Elle, pink-skinned and glistening from shining from copious amounts of sunscreen applied after forgetting to re-apply some the day before, dashed to the left, "Alright, Loki, use Hypnosis- target the Tentacool!"

On Alex's right, Robin ordered, "Quick Attack the Tentacool first, Nibbler!" She ran further to the right, too, dashing through the surf as the falling tide left ever more white sand bare.

Alex himself dropped to a knee a few feet out, a careful eye on the girls as they battled the swarm of Jellyfish-like Pokémon that bobbed in the surf. Three of the mass of twenty or so had already been knocked out in the first few seconds, or worse, but they were still awfully close to the water. Elle was knee-deep, Robin about at her ankles. That was a lot off poison to worry about, but he knew they could handle themselves if it came to it. Robin's Happiny, if nothing else, would be able to top them off, and they had a supply of Antidotes and Potions, too.

He was more worried about his own target: a blue, crocodile-like Pokémon with red spines that had, apparently, fled from the Tentacool. He was out of the water now, though, and spitting mad. "No, Lingus, don't go that- fuck! Shit, uh- Surtr, hang back. Spike, you too! Draw him in, closer, closer… that's the way! When he gets close, Cock, nail him with a Horn Attack!"

Six seconds or so later, his Starter slammed forehead-horn first into the other Pokémon's stomach, and knocked him onto his back. "Alright, Lingus, Protect with your tongue, don't let him hit you again, that's right! Shooter, smack him with a Bubble Beam, he's almost out- I know it won't hit him hard, but look, he can barely stand up!"

Indeed, the blue crocodile was wobbling on his feet now, dazed by the powerful blow his starter had delivered. The exploding bubbles knocked him to a knee once more, and Alex pulled out a Pokéball. "Alright guys, hold off… let's… go!"

The ball landed at the Pokémon's feet, sending up a puff of dry, white sand.

And, with a faint azure flash, the creature was gone. The ball didn't shake. It didn't wiggle. It just lay there for a few seconds, before… beep!

"Alright, you guys, go help the girls- follow their instructions!"

The sound of clapping from a dozen or so feet away caught Alex's attention as his team surged toward the water once more. Lingus was a bit hurt, but she would be fine, and the rest were undamaged. More urgent was the petite but busty red-head standing beneath the awning of a worn, long-disused drink shack. "M- Misty?"

Alex made his way to her cautiously, wary of the fact that the girl now had four 'balls on her bandolier. She was dressed much as she had been the day before, and she watched the Tentacool swarm be fought back almost dispassionately as he approached. "Your girls handle themselves well," she said as he stopped next to her.

"Thanks," he nodded, "Uh… you gonna catch any of those yourself?"

"Already got one," Misty shrugged, patting one of the 'balls she carried. "They came here after running from where I was down the beach a ways. It's hardly my old team, but I've got a Poliwhirl, a Starmie, a Goldeen, and my Tentacool of course. You didn't do bad, either. A Totodile's a good catch."

Alex grunted.

"Seriously," Misty continued, giving him a side-eyed glance, "Why aren't you happy? They're strong. You should be celebrating."

Alex shrugged, "I… don't know. I suppose I'm kind of curious why you're spying on us again."

"Spying? I literally just watched you catch one Pokémon. You're right here on the beach, out in the open. Anyone could see you, I just happened to be walking by."

"Mm."

"So suspicious," Misty laughed, "Anyway, I decided to take your advice. Just so you know."

Alex blinked. "My- advice?"

"From yesterday," she clarified, still watching as Elle and Robin jumped here and there dodging Acid and Tentacle Whips, and other Moves, "about my boyfriend not bothering to at least let me know. So I called last night- he was still in Cerulean, hadn't even left yet. And my sister's bra was hanging from his chair. Daisy's… I'd recognize it."

"What…?"

Misty nodded, "I suppose they're putting out… so he's done. We're done. I don't care if he fucks other people, we were never exclusive… hard, when you're famous, or a traveling Trainer, you know? But my sisters? He knows how much I hate them… So we're done. I broke up with him."

"Er… okay," Alex nodded, "Not sure why you're telling me this. I don't mind, but…"

Misty huffed then, and glared up at him before folding her arms beneath her chest, which made it bulge… he had to fight to keep his eyes on her face, or on the girls out on the water's edge. "Because it was your advice that made me see the light. He was fucking my sister, or sisters, instead of coming to help me. So he proved getting his rocks off, with people I despise no less, was more important than helping me when I really needed it. So we're done, but… I thought you'd like to know. That's all. I appreciate your advice."

"I… see. Alright, well, for what it's worth, I… I'm sorry your relationship ended that way. Cheating sucks. But it's better that you know, right?"

"I don't care that he fucked somebody else," Misty reminded him, "It's that it was them. Any of them. Gr… it pisses me off so much! Why, of all the people in the world, did he have to fuck Daisy? Or Violet, or Lily, for that matter? I wouldn't even care if it was my Mom, but one of those three? Ugh… fuck him. Or…"

Misty turned another eye up at Alex. "Or… fuck me."

He blinked. "Wh- What?"

She couldn't have been saying what he thought he'd heard. Right?

Misty gestured out toward the water, "They won't care, right? I know you think I'm hot, you're hard again after I just pushed on my tits a bit. It'd serve him right… he fucks my sister, I fuck a hot stud. Not, uh, not my pussy, though. That's off-limits. No reason to piss my mom off even more."

Alex gulped. "Uh…"

Misty grinned, almost shark-like, "Good answer," before she reached for his swimming trunks and started tugging them down, "Ooh… very good answer. Don't worry, I've got some lube… you can have my ass."

Alex swallowed, as his erection, gone since his morning wood had faded despite the two lovely young women in bikinis, surged to full strength. "I… er… I don't know what to say."

Misty turned to face him fully, half beneath the shade of the drink stand, and half in the blazing sunlight. "Say yes. Fuck my ass… and I want it filmed."

He gulped again.
