Thanatos' shoes thudded on the streets as he wandered through Hogsmeade aimlessly, looking around at the shops.

It wasn't a Hogsmeade weekend, far from it. If he'd memorized the schedule correctly, Lupin was wrapping up his first lesson by now.

He'd forgone his large trench coat, instead opting for a thin gray sweater, its zipper open to show a tight-fitting black T-shirt, along with black jeans and sneakers instead of his usual combat boots.

Thanatos hummed as memories returned to him. If he tried hard enough and ignored the decade and a half of memories after, he almost felt like he was back at Hogwarts, stuffing his pockets with Honeydukes sweets.

People gave him a glance or two as he passed, but none stopped to speak to him. Most of the people were too young to remember him in his Hogwarts days, but some of the older citizens of the small village gave him glances of pity, knowing he'd been close with the Marauders.

He mostly ignored them, twirling his wand in his left hand and letting a tiny bit of magic swirl around it; the movement was soothing somewhat.

The magic in the air shifted sharply, and Thanatos tensed for a brief second.

Before he could react to the change, a dark-skinned blonde missile launched itself into his chest, knocking the wind out of him.

Thanatos stumbled back, but his hands instinctively moved around the person's back, wrapping them tightly.

"There are other ways of saying hi, you know?" He grunted out as he stabilized himself again.

Aahna grinned up at him, her arms tight around his waist.

"Yeah, but this is more fun," She replied before standing and kissing his cheek.

Aahna couldn't be more visibly different than him. Whereas Thanatos preferred dark or neutral tones and Muggle clothing, usually combat gear, Aahna preferred stylized Wizarding robes in white, gold, yellow, silver, and pink.

Her voice was also soft, almost airy in its lightness, and carried a sweetness to it that made Thanatos smile.

Aahna was absolutely gorgeous as well, with almond-shaped gold eyes, a soft nose, and a splattering of freckles over her cheekbones.

Thanatos wrapped an arm around her waist. "I'm glad you're here, you know? Never realized how much I miss you."

Aahna beamed and kissed him again, before nuzzling her arms under his sweater and her face into his neck.

"I missed you too," She whispered into his skin, pulling him tighter. "My magic was beginning to go haywire even with the letters."

Thanatos smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"I haven't been right since you left," He murmured into her soft curls. "Every week felt like a year. Since that last letter, it felt like an eternity."

Since magic responded to emotions, any severe feelings, like missing a significant other, would lead to their magic going crazy and becoming hard to control.

They stayed in their embrace for a few moments, simply letting their magic greet each other again, allowing it to calm as they relaxed into each other.

Aahna stiffened after a few seconds, her head shooting up as she looked around.

Thanatos tensed a moment after, feeling a pair of eyes on him that weren't the passersby.

As one, their heads snapped over to the end of the street, where a large, shaggy black dog, pitifully thin, was staring at them.

The dog locked eyes with them, and the three of them froze, unblinking.

Seconds ticked by as each of them processed what was happening, and then, almost as if released from a spell, they moved.

The dog took off, rushing off with speed that would knock any wizard over, its legs taking great bounds as it moved.

Thanatos and Aahna shifted into their Animagus forms and shot into the air, their wings beating harshly as they gave chase.

The dog bolted from the village, pushing itself to move faster and faster as the ground under it turned to loose stone and dust.

A crow and a dove soared behind it, cutting through the air as they dived towards the dog.

Thanatos reached Sirius' Animagus form and transformed mid-air.

"BLACK!" He shouted, thankfully far away from any prying ears. "WAIT!"

He hit the ground and rolled forward, coming up to one knee and raising his wand.

He launched a spell at Sirius's hind end, hoping to stop his running.

Sirius sensed the magic and leaped to the side, transforming mid jump and barrel rolling to dodge the spell.

They were running up a mountain now, and Sirius leaped, transforming back into Padfoot and taking off again.

Thanatos transformed too, pushing his body to its limits to keep up with Sirius's strides.

Aahna dove, appearing in front of Sirius before transforming mid air.

"ANIMAGUS REVEALIO!" She shouted, pointing her wand at Sirius.

A bright blue spell flew from her wand and hit Sirius in the chest, sending him flying back.

He unwillingly transformed mid flight and tumbled, head over heels, a bit down the mountain.

Thanatos took a sharp dive and transformed, wand in hand.

"INCARCEROUS!"

Thick ropes wrapped tightly around Sirius, binding his legs together and his hands to his sides.

The two ran up to the escaped convict, who was struggling without a wand to break the ropes.

"Thanatos! Aahna!" Sirius cried, looking up at them. "Wait! Please! I'm innocent! I promise you I'm inno—"

"I know, Black," Thanatos sighed, cutting him off.

Sirius paused, blinking as he processed the words.

"You… you believe me?" He asked slowly, trying and failing to hide the hope in his voice.

"Yes, and Amelia does too," Thanatos stated.

Sirius' eyes brightened, his face perking up.

"Ami? She knows?" He asked, struggling against the bonds again. "I have to tell her… I have to tell her I'm sorry."

He froze again, looking at Aahna.

"Er… uhhh…. Does she know?" He asked, glancing at Thanatos.

"I know," Aahna confirmed.

Thanatos did a double take, staring at her. "You knew? Since when?"

Aahna sighed. "For that, we'll need somewhere private. I found some things out I don't think either of you will like."

"There's a cave at the top of the mountain," Sirius piped up from the ground. "That's where I was going to escape."

Thanatos nodded. "We'll go there."

He flicked his wand, and the ropes disappeared from Sirius' body.

Sirius stood, rubbing his wrists gently.

"Woah… you guys have really gotten stronger since then, huh?" He asked, laughing a bit nervously.

With the speed and precision in which they'd taken him down, Sirius doubted even he and James would be able to beat them, even if they were in their primes.

"It's been 11 years, Black," Aahna said firmly but not unkindly. "Be patient with yourself. Most couldn't survive Azkaban."

Sirius shivered at the reminder, but nodded somewhat. "Y-yeah, I guess."

The three walked up to the cave, with Thanatos ensuring to put a Disillusionment Charm over Sirius, so to any would-be onlookers, they'd just see Thanatos and Aahna, holding hands as they walked up the mountain.

They eventually reached the cave, and Thanatos immediately put every privacy ward he knew on the entrance, which amounted to over fifty.

He spun on his heel and flicked his wand, canceling the Disillusionment Charm on Sirius, letting him be visible again.

"Ok, we're good n-"

"Wait," Aahna cut him off, raising her wand.

She waved it a few times, muttering under her breath as she flicked her wand at the both of them.

The two of them glowed golden, and then white, before the light disappeared and Aahna sighed in relief.

"Sorry, just had to check you two had no tracking or listening stuff on you," She explained, rubbing her eyes. "Honestly, I wouldn't put it past the old coot."

"Ok, I know why I dislike him," Thanatos stated. "But why do you?"

"I'm confused," Sirius glanced at them both. "What's going on? How do you two know? Why are you here? I thought you lived in Greece?"

Thanatos sighed. "To answer your questions Sirius: Dumbledore, investigation, investigation, and we do."

Aahna turned to him. "What evidence do you have against him?"

"Let's start with yours first," Thanatos replied. "Mine's easier to explain."

Aahna nodded. "Right, so, Sirius, I currently hate Dumbledore with every fiber of my being and the only reason I don't kill him right now is because I don't want to."

Sirius blinked and did a double take. "Err.. what?"

"Dumbledore's a bastard," Aahna said dryly.

"Ok, who are you and what have you done with my friends?" Sirius snapped, snarling. "What is it? Polyjuice? Imperious? Wasn't ruining my life once enough?"

"Sirius," Thanatos sighed. "You do realize that if we were Death Eaters in disguise, not only would we have killed you already, but we wouldn't be able to transform into our Animagus forms?"

Sirius paused at that, blinking. "I— err…"

Aahna raised her wand. "I can make a magical vow if you want. I know Thanatos will too."

Sirius shook his head. "No… no. That's not… that's not necessary."

He ran a hand through his matted hair. "Care to tell me why you two suddenly hate Dumbledore though? I'm kind of lost."

"Because of this," Aahna told him, pulling out a necklace.

Both Thanatos and Sirius blinked. The necklace didn't have a jewel or something similar in it, but rather a small glass bottle filled with what seemed like swirling white gas.

"Is that… a memory?" Sirius asked, brows furrowed.

Aahna nodded. "Yep. And it's the reason I despise the old coot at the moment."

Thanatos stared at the necklace oddly. "I thought… I thought you lost that?"

"What even is that?" Sirius asked. "Why do you have a memory on a chain?"

"It's similar to a pensive," Aahna explained. "It can store information to be recalled later; it's very useful for big projects with a lot of moving parts."

"Right…" Sirius said slowly. "And this matters, why?"

Aahna shot him a small glare. "I'm getting there."

"Anyway," she continued. "You two, what's the first thing that the DMLE does, and has done, when there's a severe magical outburst in a previously warded area? Besides the Obliviators."

"Examine the residue," Sirius replied immediately. "To find out what happened and why. Me and James went with Lily on a few runs like that."

"Right, so why wasn't there anything like that in the Potter home?" Aahna asked.

The two men exchanged a glance, beginning to fit the pieces together, Thanatos more than Sirius, as he had more info.

"Trick question," Aahna continued. "There was. How do I know? I was part of the team."

Thanatos's brows furrowed. "But you were sick the following few days. I remember that, it was the reason you had a miscarriage."

The two had nearly had a child around the time of the Potter's death, but it had died in the womb and no Healer could explain why.

Aahna had been perfectly healthy, and her magic was strong, but not only had the child died, the two hadn't been able to conceive since.

"And want to guess why I was sick?" Aahna snarled, gripping the necklace tightly. "I'll give you one fucking guess."

Thanatos' eyes widened briefly before he snarled, magic beginning to whip around his body.

"Excuse me?" He asked lowly, voice dangerous. "Are you telling me Dumbledore not only ministrated the deaths and capture of my friends, but killed my child?"

His magic pushed against the cave, vaporizing the stone as it lashed out.

Thanatos' eyes were pits of black, his hands and face covered with black veins as his magic pulsed.

"That's it," he snarled, moving towards the cave entrance. "I'm going to fucking kill him."

Aahna moved quickly, flicking her wand sharply.

Thanatos's clothes tightened around him, pulling him back into the cave.

He snarled and shrugged it off, the spell shattering like spiderwebs.

Aahna flicked again, pulling him back, and before he could break free again, pinned him against the wall and kissed him.

Thanatos froze, his magic coming to a screeching halt, not wanting to hurt her in his anger.

The magic in the room calmed as Aahna suppressed it with hers, kissing him deeply to make him calm down.

The veins lost their color, and the black light retreated back under his skin. His eyes turned back to normal, and the cave cooled slowly.

It took a few moments for everything to calm, but once it did, Aahna stepped back, breathless, flushed, and panting slightly.

Thanatos opened his eyes slowly, his breathing shallow like hers, but thankfully calm.

"Are you ok now?" She asked in her softest voice, and Thanatos felt the last of his anger rush out of his body.

"I… yeah," he muttered, looking down.

Aahna sighed in relief and smiled, kissing his cheek and ruffling his hair a bit.

"You can come out now, Sirius," Aahna called.

Sirius' head peaked out from behind a rock, which he'd used to take cover from the wild magic.

His hands covered his eyes, though, as if hiding still.

"I'm not going to see you two making up for lost time, am I?" He asked. "I love you two but that's too much."

Aahna and Thanatos flushed, and Aahna's eyes narrowed dangerously as she smirked.

Sirius yelped in a dog-like fashion as a stinging hex hit him square in the jaw.

"Hey! That's mean!" He pouted, uncovering his eyes and rubbing his sore jaw.

Aahna's smirk grew. "Really? Because if I remember correctly, Amelia said you—"

"LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU," Sirius yelled, fingers in her ears and eyes squeezed shut.

The couple rolled their eyes at his antics. Even after everything, Sirius was still Sirius.

They eventually got back on track, with Thanatos conjuring a table and chairs for them.

Aahna put the necklace on the table, her face grim.

"This isn't the original," She said, staring at it. "This is the copy I had at the Greek Ministry of Magic. It was in a cabinet only I could open."

"Where's the original?" Thanatos asked. "I know you made another one of these."

"Dumbledore broke it," Aahna sighed. "I was wearing it and he broke it in our fight."

"Wait, wait, wait, fight?" Sirius asked, bewildered. "What the actual hells going on?!"

"Let me start from the beginning," Aahna suggested, and Sirius nodded.

"Right, so, as you know, when there's a large release of magic in an area, especially in an area with wards, Unspeakables are sent out to examine what happened, along with Obliviators."

The two men nodded, and Aahna continued.

"Well, when the Potters died, there's was an absolutely massive release of magic, enough to knock out most delicate sensors for a bit.

The reason for that," Aahna explained. "Was due to the Fidelius Charm over the Potter home being broken."

"You figured it out too?" Thanatos asked, and Aahna nodded.

"Yeah, I did," Aahna replied before shaking her head.

"Anyway, when that happened, the Unspeakables were released as per usual. We got there, six of us, everything was normal for a bit, we were finishing out diagnostics when Dumbles showed up."

Aahna took a deep breath. "He had some sort of gadget, some kind of magical bomb that knocked out four of our team before we noticed he was there."

"Magical bomb?" Sirius asked, brows furrowed.

Aahna shrugged. "Best I can describe it as. I was on the other side of the home when he got there, so I was safe, but it was only me and my partner, who was fresh from the Academy."

Sirius and Thanatos winced; as much as they disliked the thought, everyone knew that fresh grads were a liability in combat and field operations, they were too green.

"I was in the middle of a diagnostic charm to pick up any residue I could when it happened," Aahna said. "By the time I canceled the spell and turned to him, he'd already knocked out my partner."

Aahna took another breath. "I dueled him, but given he's much more experienced, me being pregnant at the time, and being caught off guard, it didn't last long."

She grabbed the necklace and picked it up.

"The original recorded everything after; it got transferred to this one after the original broke."

She put it down again, and continued.

"He wiped my memory, but realized that I would eventually remember due to the magic swirling in my body from the pregnancy."

Thanatos' grip dug through the table, his knuckles white and his jaw clenched.

"So he…"

"He killed the child," Aahna nodded, tears in her eyes. "He couldn't have me remembering."

Aahna sniffed, barely restraining the tears. "But he… but he knew…" She croaked, barely able to speak. "He knew if I had another… it'd come back. So he— he—"

Thanatos embraced his wife gently, letting her rest her head on his chest as she cried.

Sirius' face was white, and even in his weakened state, his magic thrummed against his fingertips, roaring and beating against his skin, wanting nothing more to rip Dumbledore apart.

Padfoot howled inside his soul, snarling and straining.

Padfoot wanted blood for the first time, it wanted to tear, to rip apart, it wanted to kill.

Sirius bit his tongue hard enough to draw blood, forcibly stopping his animal side, though his jaw still trembled and his hands still gripped the chair hard enough to break it.

Aahna's tears were soft now, but she still couldn't speak, the pain of remembering being too much.

Thanatos rubbed circles on her back, letting his magic trinkle through his fingertips into her skin, hoping to provide some comfort.

"I guess it's my turn," Thanatos's voice was hollow. "It doesn't seem like much now."

"No… no, go on," Sirius whispered, his voice cracking. "I'm… I'm listening."

Thanatos explained his theories, how the evidence didn't line up, how Dumbledore had likely orchestrated the entire thing, how he'd probably wanted Sirius in jail.

The entire thing took over half an hour as Thanatos explained everything, including everything he could possibly think of.

By the end, Sirius was crying silently. Tears rolled down his face, and in his soul, Padfoot howled painfully between whimpers.

Cold hard anger boiled in his chest, but that was nothing compared to his sadness.

It'd been a lie; it'd all been a lie. The man he'd trusted so much, that he'd looked up to so much, had betrayed him, used him, abandoned him, all when he needed it the most.

Something inside Sirius broke, the last of his innocence, the last of his hope, at least for his old life, shattered with Thanatos's words.

He'd suffered, Thanatos and Aahna had suffered, Amelia had suffered, Frank and Alice had suffered, Harry, Harry!

"Harry!" Sirius croaked, his head shooting up.

The couple looked at him, and Sirius stood sharply.

"I have to help him!" Sirius exclaimed. "He could get hurt if Dumbledore finds out!"

Thanatos shook his head. "No. We can't. It's too risky."

Sirius glared at him, anger overriding his rationale.

"He's my godson!" Sirius snarled, slamming his hands on the table. "I couldn't help him then, but I'll be fucking damned if I don't help him now!"

"You can't help him now!" Thanatos snapped, glaring right back.

Sirius did a double take, his anger faltering slightly.

"You're an escaped convict! He'd try to kill you on sight!" Thanatos exclaimed.

"No… Harry wouldn't… he wouldn't kill, would he?" Sirius asked, horrified.

"I've asked around," Thanatos grumbled. "Mostly rumors so far so Dumbledore doesn't get suspicious, but word is that Harry's not only killed Voldemoi twice, but also a professor and a Basilisk."

"A— a BASILISK?!" Sirius shouted, making the two wince.

Thanatos nodded. "At twelve. With a sword."

Sirius gasped at him, his mouth moving wordlessly, his brain seemingly stuck at the revelation.

"Oh, on a happier note, he's also the youngest Seeker in a century," Thanatos said with a bittersweet smile. "Guess those genes were strong, huh?"

Sirius smiled softly back, tears in his eyes.

"Y—yeah," he croaked, memories flooding him. "J-James would be proud."

He brushed away his tears, and tried to swallow the ball in his throat, but found himself unable to.

"He looks like James too," Thanatos told him. "With Lily's eyes."

Sirius' smile was larger this time. "Yeah… I saw him… that day at Magnolia Crescent. As Padfoot"

His voice was soft, almost unbelieving. "For a second… for a second, I thought he was going to turn into a deer and chase me. Or-Or, use that Invisibility Cloak to get some privacy."

Thanatos chuckled lightly. "He has it, you know? And if I heard the teacher's gossip correctly, he gets good use out of it."

Sirius let out a barking laugh, throwing his head back.

"Oh that's the spirit! Just like James!" He laughed, but blinking away tears at the same time.

Silence fell over them again, but it was more comfortable this time around.

Thanatos ran a hand through Aahna's curls, much to her content as she snuggled against him with a sigh, closed eyes, and a smile.

Sirius sat down again, staring at the ceiling, a million thoughts running through his head.

"Hey, Thanatos?"

"Hmm?" Thanatos looked up from where he was staring at Aahna's lips, mentally tracing her smile.

"We're going to help him, right?" Sirius asked, his voice hopeful. "Will I be getting my godson back?"

"Of course," Thanatos whispered, stroking Aahna's hair. "We just need to get your name cleared first."

Sirius sat up and looked at him. "You said Ami knows, right? Think she could help?"

Thanatos nodded. "She does. But she doesn't know about Dumbledore orchestrating the deaths, or about the Fidelius, just about Peter."

Sirius scowled. "I'm going to kill that rat, I swear."

"Black," Thanatos said in a warning tone. "Don't."

"Why?" Sirius snapped, anger returning with a vengeance. "I already did the time, might as well do the crime."

"And leave Harry alone?" Thanatos asked coldly.

Sirius froze at that, sighing as he seemingly deflated, his anger leaving in a rush.

"I— sorry," he muttered, head bowed. "I keep thinking with my wand, not my head."

"If you thought with your wand you would've stayed with Amelia," Aahna muttered, sitting up and stretching with a groan.

Sirius flushed, and his eyes narrowed.

"You're lucky I don't have a wand," he threatened, and Aahna stuck her tongue out at him, a gesture he returned.

"Either way," Thanatos interrupted, making the two turn to him. "You're going to need a check up once we get you cleared. That time in there had to have done numbers on your mind and magic."

"Err… about that," Sirius rubbed his neck. "How exactly am I going to get cleared? It's not like we can just bring Peter to Ami, now can we?"

"We don't need him," Thanatos said calmly. "We have enough evidence as it is to get you cleared. Besides, you took the Godfather Oath, right?"

The Godfather Oath was a magical vow that decreed that the godparent couldn't do anything to harm their godchild, intentional or not. Any attempt to force them to would end in the the worst way possible.

Sirius nodded proudly. "First thing I did when I was named!"

"I'm pretty sure the first thing you did when you were named was cry," Aahna muttered, getting a snort from Thanatos and a glare from Sirius.

"Ok, fine, second thing I did," He corrected, and Aahna grinned. "Ok, fine third! You happy?"

"Yes," Aahna smirked, making Sirius grumble goodnaturedly.

"We'll need to get all the evidence," Thanatos stated. "We're there any witnesses?"

Sirius thought back for a moment. "Apart from Dumbles, Ami, Augusta Longbottom, and Alice were there."

Alice Longbottom was Neville's mother, and subsequently, Harry's godmother.

"I get why Dumbles and Alice aren't an option," Aahna spoke up. "But why not Lady Longbottom and Amelia? Speaking of, shouldn't they remember? They'd be able to testify."

"That is if Dumbles hasn't wiped them," Sirius grumbled.

"That can be reversed," Aahna said calmly. "I have a record of his magical signature since he used it on me; we'll just need to get the two alone without alerting Dumbles."

"Amelia we can do," Thanatos said immediately. "I'm working for her right now, me visiting her wouldn't be out of place. Augusta will be more difficult."

Aahna nodded. "Let's focus on Amelia for now. She should be the easiest. We can focus on Augusta if needed."

"Are we really going to get my name cleared?" Sirius asked, feeling as if it were too good to be true.

Thanatos nodded. "We're getting you your life back, Sirius. And we're getting Harry a childhood as well."

Sirius grinned. "Think I can teach him how to get a girlfriend?" He mused.

Aahna snorted. "You? From what I remember, Amelia asked you out, not the other way around."

"Exactly," Sirius said smugly. "Once I'm done with him, the ladies are going to be asking to be with him."

Thanatos rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, Casanova. First, let's get you a bath; you reek."

" What?" Sirius said, seemingly affronted. "I'll have you know that the girl dogs love the natural smell."

Thanatos and Aahna gave him a look, and Sirius flushed.

"Sirius… are you… did you?" Aahna asked slowly.

"No!" Sirius replied quickly, face red. "Of course not!"

He looked away and dropped his voice. "I wasn't the one looking for them."

"Yeah… we're getting you a bath… and neutered."

"Hey!"

.

Author's Note: Well, we got Sirius and Aahna now, Dumbles isn't as light as he seems, and a bit of a display of power from Thanatos and Aahna.

For those wondering, no, Thanatos and Aahna aren't a normal wizard and witch, at least not really. It's hard to explain without spoilers, but let's just say that their bodies are human, and their souls… well, aren't.

Again, thank you all for the comments/reviews, kudos/favorites, and follows from everyone on both sites. It's truly motivating.
