Chapter One: Learning About Foulplay
Miko was curious if Optimus had anymore friends before the war that weren't Ratchet or Megatron. Maybe she could meet someone as strong as Bulkhead!
"So, Optimus, did you have any other gladiator friends besides Megatron?" Miko asked. Her curiosity always got the better of her. But that was ok, it helped all of them so far, so how bad could it possibly be?
Optimus waited a moment before answering, thinking back most likely."I did," Optimus finally said, "Her name was Foulplay."
"Puh-lease don't get me started about Foulplay! That reckless shuttle couldn't keep out of fights!" Ratchet said, remembering the shuttle quite fondly. "But she was also the least fussy about medical equipment, she may be bigger than Bulkhead but she broke WAY less stuff than him!"
"But she joined the Decepticons early on and was their second in command before mysteriously going missing, Starscream taking her place shortly after," Arcee said, joining in on the conversation. "She was able to defeat an entire army on her own, some say she died while others say she still is aboard the Nemesis waiting to join back into the war. I hope she died."
"Don't forget about her miracle medic!" Ratchet said, "Last time I checked, she got injuries no one could survive and yet she still walked the surface of Cybertron for Vorns! And no, I was not her miracle medic."
"What was Foulplay like before the war?" Jack asked this time. He too was now curious by Foulplay.
"She was a kind and nurturing femme, she always wanted a little sparkling a of her own, didn't she Ratchet?" Optimus said, Ratchet nodding in his response and going back to his work on the computer. "She also was a strong spirited Cybertronian, before I had been a Prime, I thought she would be a Prime. I still think that the kind sparked Foulplay still exists."
"If only she would reappear and become an Autobot," Ratchet muttered, pausing in his typing before going back, his orange/red and white plating having a green glow from the screen. He then resumed his work. "But I doubt she still likes us after what happened to him and blamed his death on us…"
"What do you mean by "him"?" Raf asked, looking at Ratchet then to Optimus.
"Foulplay's conjux endura died by Megatron's own servos and he framed us for his death," Optimus replied instead of Ratchet, "The two had a large size difference… one being a racer-frame and the other a shuttle-frame, but they made it work."
They just stay in silence, taking in the information. Foulplay must have been an interesting Transformer.
In Miko's opinion, she would be such a fun friend! Foulplay couldn't be THAT much bigger than Bulkhead!
Of how wrong Miko was about Foulplay's and Bulkhead's size difference…
…
Smokescreen was used to the orange spark that always followed him, he always felt like it was his carrier. Though he never met them in the frame, he knew that his creators or one of them was a Praxian. But this orange spark filled the void of a carrier, somehow even forming the bond. Alpha Trion always told him that his carrier had died due to the Decepticons, he didn't doubt is one bit. And the spark that followed him was proof, or he hoped at least. That's all he could do really.
:You should head back to base, don't want to get caught by anything bad: the orange spark said through their bond, hovering over Smokescreen's shoulder. Smokescreen nodded and started walking back, he had gone on a short walk to get some fresh air.
Smokescreen looked towards the sky, something about seeing it made him feel so unfree. Like he was meant to soar among the clouds, but he had a ground alt-mode at he couldn't exactly borrow a ship from anyone. And he didn't want to fly with Wheeljack because of what Ratchet said it was like.
He opened his subspace so his carriers spark could enter and be safe. He wasn't sure why they didn't like the Autobots, or trust them, but he wasn't going to force them to see them.
He transformed into his alt-mode and drove into the base, and transformed back maybe a little too quickly. As he almost fell face first into the ground, just barely catching himself before walking it off like it was intentional.
"What's going on here?" Smokescreen asked, the humans were talking amongst themselves.
"Optimus told us about an old friend of his!" Miko replied, so much enthusiasm could be heard in her voice. "Foulplay sounds like a strong warrior!"
"I believe I had an encounter with her once, it was quite odd to say the least," Smokescreen said, "I was quite young, not even an adult yet when it happened. She looked so sad and miserable before she saw me, then she looked more happy before shooing me off. Then soon after Megatron was there. I got out of there before he could notice me, can't imagine what could have happened if I stayed…"
"So she still is soft to younglings," Ratchet said, "And by the timeframe you gave us, seems around the time she went missing."
"True," Smokescreen said, he felt a nagging feeling of guilt from that day, what if he stayed? What if he convinced her to join the Autobots? Would she? "But that is in the past." Smokescreen settled on saying, he wish he could say more but that could make him seem like he knew what happened to Foulplay.
He already felt like he did…
Maybe it was just his imagination trying to make him feel special… nothing to dwell on now. You can't change the past, can you?
…
Jetfire spent vorns in the ice, but what happened when it starts to crack..?
