Hawkeye's attack was still heading straight towards Stoick, and it looked as if nothing was going to stop it. Stoick's crew, who were in its path, immediately jumped out of the way, and they watched the attack close in upon Stoick.
"Stoick, no!"
Then someone jumped in its path and somehow blocked the attack; even Hawkeye was surprised. Whoever took the attack somehow managed to deflect it, sending it straight up into the sky.
The Marines just stared in shock.
"That's insane. He blocked the world's greatest swordsman?"
A huge crevice in the ice stopped before the man who had somehow blocked the attack. When the dust settled, they saw Sven standing there, but his entire body was now made of diamonds.
"No, it's… it's him! Third Division Commander Diamond Sven!"
Hawkeye may have been a skilled swordsman who could cut through giant galleons with a single swing at his sword, but even he was not able to cut through diamonds. Hawkeye then sheathed his sword, realising any further attacks would be utterly useless.
The Marines were so stunned by what just happened that Stoick's crew took advantage and struck them down.
"I wouldn't let my guard down if I were you? Come on, guys, keep advancing onto the front lines!"
The Marines finally managed to recover from their shock.
"Halt their advance!"
Once again, the battle occurred, and Ace could only watch.
"Damn fools," said Sander. "They're trying to break through from the front." He then pulled out a transponder snail. "Attention, artillery unit! Open fire on all enemy ships as well as the approaching pirates!"
"Sir!"
The Marines then began to fire on the pirate fleet outside the bay, no doubt a cut off any reinforcements to the front.
"Forward units, block off all access to this Plaza!"
"Sir!"
The cannons within the bay then began firing at the pirates before they could get close. Regardless, the commanders were still fighting very well, cutting down any Marines who blocked their path.
"My my," said Kia as he rose to his feet. "Stoick's commanders are a frightening bunch of monsters, aren't they? Though I do admit, they put on a good show. Still, if we want to stop this party before they wreck the place, we simply need to remove the head of this unruly behemoth."
His eyes then fell upon Stoick, and he instantly transformed into light and vanished. This left Magnus completely alone at the scaffold, though he did not look too concerned.
Light then began to shine over the battlefield, blinding the pirates.
"It's so bright!"
"What the hell?"
Kia was admitting a massive amount of light, and then he began to reform directly over the battlefield.
"Aw, it's Kia!"
"Shining Sacred Jewel!" said Kia, and he began firing off a spread of lasers.
Stoick didn't look scared in the slightest. "It's too bright. Could you tone it down a little, pal?"
Then, someone flew into the lasers and somehow managed to block them. When the light began to fade, they saw Gobber flying over the battlefield. Now, he had flaming blue wings but was also covered in holds, no doubt due to Kia's attack.
"He just stopped the admiral's attack, but how?"
"I don't know. It's almost like he's got wings."
"Well, fancy that," said Kia.
"I'm afraid our captain is off-limits," Gobber smirked as blue flames began to flow over his body. "If you want to reach him, you got to go through me."
Kia merely gave a small smile. "Scary. These Hairy Hooligan Pirates play rough."
"What the?! He's on fire?!"
"He took Kia's attack head-on, and he's just floating there?"
"I don't know what kind of Devil Fruit that is, but I don't like it."
"Even more rare than Logia powers," said Kia. "Zoan Type Mythical Creatures."
The Marines then noticed that the holes covering Gobber began to fade as the flames surrounding him appeared to be healing him.
"Look, his wounds are healing!"
"This can't be real. That didn't hurt him at all?"
"Oh, it did," Gobber assured them.
"Don't lie to protect my pride," said Kia.
Gobber's body then transformed into a flaming bird, suddenly taking off into the air.
"So there must be the First Division Commander and Stoick's first mate."
"If his flames can't turn away attack, then they can heal him when it's done."
"He has the power of the Phoenix; he's Gobber the Belch."
"Look at that lovely bird," said Kia as he raised his hands. "It must be quite rare."
He then fired another spread of lasers, but none of his attacks appeared to be working on Gobber as he kept on flying straight through them. He shot up until he was directly above them and returned to his human form. He then performs an axe kick down upon Kia, who quickly blocked it with his arm.
"Well, that's quite the painful kick," said Kia.
"Now you're lying," said Gobber.
He then put much more thought into his kick, and Kia turned into light and crashed right into the battlements, which caused quite an explosion. The Marines had to brace themselves for the explosion; it was slowly dawning on them that nowhere was safe on the battlefield.
"Just standing here is dangerous enough."
"He okay?"
Kia reformed himself and appeared right next to the Marines in a matter of seconds.
"Hmm, my fault," he said, looking at Gobber. "I really should have known better. If your boss was that easy to kill, you wouldn't be here right now, would you?"
Gobber merely smiled.
Kia then turned to the giant Marines standing in the back row. "Giant unit, keep an eye on the sky from now on."
The Giants raised their weapons and prepared to participate in the battle, which wasn't a happy prospect for the pirates.
"Oh crap, here comes the Giants."
"Everyone knock them down! Attack their feet!"
"Out of the way!" Sven yelled as he pushed past. "Clear a path!"
"Sven?"
Sven covered his fist in diamonds and slammed it into the ground, much to the Marines' confusion.
"Is he breaking the ice?"
The ice began to crack, and the pirates followed Sven's orders.
"All right, retreat!"
The crack began to form a perfect circle, and using all his strength, Sven freed the enormous chunk of ice. The Marines just stared.
"What the heck is he doing?"
"Try blocking this one!" he roared.
Sven then flung the large chunk of ice into the air straight towards the Marines. It was so massive that it was even bigger than the Giants and was heading straight for.
"It's going to crush us!"
"We can't outrun it!"
Magnus continued to sit in his chair as he watched the large chunk of ice hurling towards him.
"Damn those two," he said as he rose to his feet. "Cocky hotheads. What were they thinking? Abandoning their post like that? What if I had done the same, huh?" He then clenched his fist, and his right arm began to turn into molten magma. "There'd be no one here to do their job."
"It's Magnus!"
His right arm grew in size, and he swung his massive fist directly towards the ice.
"Great Eruption!" he yelled.
His fist slammed right into the ice and went straight through it, melting it as it went.
The pirates just stared, stunned.
"He didn't just crush that block of ice; he evaporated it right into thin air!"
Things then got worse as molten magma began to fall directly onto the battlefield, and the pirates began to panic.
"Runaway!"
"Volcanic rocks!"
Balls of magma began to litter the battlefield like small meteorites, and the pirates were having trouble avoiding them as there were so many.
"There's too many of them!"
Stoick just remained standing on the Skullcrusher, not looking at all concerned as the molten rocks fell past him. A few of them destroyed the ship on his right flank, and immediately was set ablaze.
"This ship has been hit! Everyone back away!"
Everyone on the ship immediately began to abandon it as it continued to burn and toppled over.
Everyone on Sabaody who were watching the battle just stared, transfixed, utterly terrified by what they were witnessing.
"I feel like watching the apocalypse unfold here."
Stoick then witnessed one of the molten rocks heading straight towards him, but he merely clinched his battleaxe and plunged it into the rock.
"You sure like to be flashy, don't they?" he said.
Magnus retracted his arm and watched as Stoick blew out the flames of the molten rock on his battleaxe with one good puff.
Stoick looked up at him and smiled. "Think I'll have you light the candles for my next birthday."
Magnus merely sneered. "I would rather provide the lighting for your funeral."
Despite this back-and-forth between the superpowers of both sides, the fighting continued.
"Still three ships left! Do not fall back! Now fire!"
The Marines fired their cannons at the three remaining ships, but Stoick used his power to protect the Skullcrusher, who shattered the cannonballs before they had any chance of hitting the flagship. The other commanders defended the other two ships and continued to battle the Marines on the ground.
"Push on!" Fifteenth Division Commander Fossa commanded. He then somehow set his sword ablaze and charged towards the Marines. "Get to the Plaza!"
With one swing, he was able to cut down the Marines right in front of him.
The Twelfth Division Commander, Cleaver, sliced through a Marine's sword, shield and helmet with his sword.
A few Marines charged towards Bucket, the Sixth Division Commander. He was a large, long, blond-haired man with a bucket on his head. He reached towards his arm with their pay to be some sort of pocket and pulled out a giant mallet, which he used to flatten the Marines.
"Take out the commander at all costs!"
"Don't let them get ashore! Sink the Skullcrusher! Push forward and aim for Stoick!"
Gustav stood there shaking as he watched the battle unfold. This was the first time he had ever taken part in a war. The battle had only been commencing for a short while already, and bodies littered the place.
"These are pirates, my enemy," he said. "This isn't a training exercise, this is war. I can't… my knees are frozen, I can't move."
"It's pointless," said Sven as he fell to his knees. "These guys would slaughter us without a second glance. I mean, you realise that, right?"
Gustav just looked at him in silence.
"Just look around you. They're monsters; there's not a single thing we amateurs can do against guys like that. We've got to run if we want to live. Okay? Okay?"
Gustav just stood there in silence, looking rather reluctant to go along with that idea.
"Look, don't be an idiot," said Sven. "There is no but, don't you understand me? The only thing we can contribute to this battle is more blood for those killers to spill all over the ice. Just listen, you want to be Admiral, don't you?"
Becoming a Marine Admiral was his biggest ambition. He told Hiccup this, and he was encouraged, knowing the two of them would have to fight against one another. However, running away and hiding seemed the opposite way of achieving such a dream.
"Look, don't take this wrong way; I'm just saying that is why we should run. We both have a future. It's not right for either of us to die here. There's too much left for us to do; we are the chosen ones."
"But Hiccup… I made a promise to him, didn't I?"
However, they were suddenly interrupted when the entire ground shook.
"What now? Where is it?" Sven asked.
They looked around for the source of the noise, and Gustav spotted what was causing it. His eyes widened in shock. All the Marines stopped fighting as they saw a merging from the mist, a giant creature that had to be at least 500 feet tall.
On the other hand, the pirates just smiled as they saw him.
"Here he comes."
The creature resembled a great deal of Oars, the zombie Moria had brought to life when Hiccup and his crew fought him.
"Attack! Kill it!"
The Marines then fired their cannons directly at the creature, but they had no effect on it.
"All right, bring down their artillery defence!"
The creature then drew a massive sword and, with one good swing, sliced a ship in two.
"Brother Ace!" he roared.
Ace's eyes widened.
"Nicely done! Get them, Little Oars Junior!"
Oars roared loudly so that everyone on the island could hear him.
"He must be related to the Continent Puller," said Estelle troublingly.
"He's an enormous, at least twice as big as one of the regular giants," said Doberman.
"We can't let him invade the island, no matter what! He'll give them too much leverage during the fight!"
Upon seeing Oars, Moria became suddenly intrigued.
"Just look at that beautiful beast, and here I didn't even know that Oars had a living descendant," he smiled. "I wanted. I call his corpse after the battle!"
Johann laughed. "Now that's more like it."
Ace just looked at Oars in shock. "Little Oars?!"
"Ace is a nice guy; he's my friend," said Oars. "I'm not going to let you hurt him."
