Prompt: "Why are you avoiding me?"

"Because…because I think I'm falling in love with you, okay? That's why I'm avoiding you."

"It's been a while since I've been to a proper debrief."

Colonel Baird looked over to where Ra was sitting on top of her desk facing the resto of them with furrowed brows. Before the Guardian could say anything, however, Ezekiel Jones spoke up. "So, end of the day, not too bad for a first time out, was it?"
The Guardian sighed. "You did okay. I could do better." She took a breath before explaining. "I spent my entire adult life in the military. Everybody fits into a box. But you all don't. You're not assets to be protected. You're not soldiers I can order around. I don't know what you are."

Stone, who was standing near Ra with his arms crossed, smirked slightly. "Well, maybe the term you're looking for is 'partners'."

"Fair enough."

Jones was just sitting there, looking smug. "Can you go back to the part where you said we were awesome?"
Barid was not having any of that. "I said you did okay."

"Yeah, but I'm gonna take that as we rule. Mostly me. You guys were okay."

Ra sighed heavily as she slid off of the desk while Cassandra spoke. "Okay? I did math."

"True. Points for math."

"Stone, though, you mostly just got beat up."

"Alright, enough." They all looked at Ra, who now had her arms crossed as she looked at them all. "I'd say that we've gotten as far as we can with this debrief, so how about we split off now?" She grabbed Stone's shirt before he could sneak away. "I need your help with something, so you're coming with me."

With that, the two quietly made their way to her office/workspace. Once there, Stone seemed to be wanting to run away. "What do you need my help with?"
She leaned back against the table and sighed. "I've noticed that you've been avoiding both Cassandra and I for the most part since Flynn left. With everything that happened during that first team-up, I understand that for Cassandra, I do. So, why are you avoiding me?"

Instead of attempting to obfuscate (like she'd expected him to do), Stone just sighed before coming to stand next to her. "Truthfully? It's because I think that I'm falling in love with you, okay? That's why I'm avoiding you."

Whatever she'd expected him to say, the Archivist would readily admit it wasn't that. In fact, she just looked at him with her mouth open slightly before her brain began to work again. "Wait, really?"

He scoffed slightly. "Yes, really. But I'm still working through things. That's why I haven't really said anything."

"Okay." Stone (no, Jacob) furrowed his brow at her as she stood straight and turned towards him. "Here's what we're going to do. We are going to cultivate a friendship. And if in the future we feel the pull to make it into something more, we can go from there. That gives both of us time to reflect and what not."

"You sure?"
"As sure as I can be. Sound good to you?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I think so."
