(Setting: Naruto)

He was alone again, as usual. The moment he tried to play with the other kids, their parents came in and took them away. He still doesn't understand why.

Naruto was used to it at this point. Sitting on the stairs that were leading from the river to the park, he looked at the water while the sunset cast an orange glow over it.

There was another kid that was alone, sitting by the river, but he was always refusing to even approach Naruto. Plus, Naruto didn't like him either. He always looked smug and it annoyed Naruto.

"Hey, why are you alone?" Naruto was broken out of his thoughts when someone spoke to him.

Looking at the speaker, Naruto saw a girl that appeared to be his age. She was wearing a red shirt with plain, brown shorts. The only way he can tell it was a girl was because of her chin length hair that was styled into pigtails and how she looked too cute to be a boy.

The girl's hair was pitch black. Her eyes were also black but it was an unnatural, creepy shade, as if they were holes where you can't see the end of it. They were a bit unsettling.

"I-I'm not alone!" Naruto denied, looking away with a huff.

"But you're sitting here all by yourself," the girl said back, smiling as she did so. "Oh, are you here with him?" She asked, looking at the other boy.

"No way!" Naruto denied.

"So, you ARE alone?" The girl tilted her head, her smile still present.

"I... Uh.." Naruto began to sweat. He didn't have a response.

"Oh, I know! Let's go talk to him!" Reaching down, the girl took Naruto's hand.

"H-Hey! W-Wait!" Naruto didn't get a say as he began focusing on not falling down as the girl began walking down the stairs while pulling him.

As soon as they reached the boy, the girl spoke. "Hey! Why are you alone?"

The boy clicked his tongue and turned away his head. "What do you two want?"

The girl blinked. "We two...?" The girl looked back at Naruto. "Oh, what are you doing here?" She asked, letting go of his hand.

"You pulled me here!" Naruto replied, looking at the girl with confusion.

"I did?" The girl looked up in thought before giggling. "I guess I did."

"Whatever you want, just leave me alone," the boy said as he ignored them.

"Oh, so you are alone?" The girl tilted her head. "Why?"

"Because I want to be," the boy replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

The girl stared at him for a couple of seconds before chuckled. "That's stupid. No one wants to be alone."

"Well, I do," the boy replied.

"Let's play a game!" The girl suddenly cheered.

"Hey, are you listening?!" The boy yelled but he was ignored.

The girl picked up a rock from nearby and held it up. "Whoever can throw a rock furthest into the river wins!"

"Uh, sure?" Naruto didn't really know why he agreed. He's just trying to keep up with that weird girl.

"I'm not doing a thing," the other boy denied with a huff.

The girl looked at him for a second before her look turned to something akin to pity. "Oh, I get it. You're arms are too weak to do it?"

"What did you say!?" The boy jumped to his feet, glaring at her.

"I mean, why else would you refuse?" The girl tilted her head in the other direction. "I'm just asking you to throw a rock into the river and you say you won't. Here, I'll go first!" The girl took the rock and threw it into the river. The rock bounced a couple of times before sinking.

"Hmph, that's nothing!" Naruto stepped up and picked up a rock. "Watch this!" He threw the rock, which bounced four times on the water before sinking.

The unknown boy scoffed. "Amateurs."

"Oh yeah! I'd like to see you do better!" Naruto challenged.

The boy picked up a rock and threw it. The rock bounced on the water six times before sinking. While Naruto looked in shock and the boy smiled smugly, the girl clapped.

"Wow! That was great! Let me try again!" The girl picked up another rock and moved it around in her hand. "I think you twirled it around, like this!"

The girl threw the rock in a way similar to the boy, only for it to bounce a total of seven times on the surface before it finally sunk.

"Yay! I did it!" The girl cheered, throwing her hands in the air before stopping to blink. "Wait... Why was I doing this again?"

"You're the one that started the game!?" Both Naruto and the boy yelled out.

"I did?" The girl asked before laughing. "Sorry, sorry. I have a really bad memory," she looked at the sky, which was already starting to turn purple and dark. "Oh, guess I have to go. We should do this again sometimes!" The girl began running before she stopped and turned to face the two boys. "By the way! I don't remember if I introduced myself! But my name is Ama! Nice to meet you two!"

As Ama turned back around and continued running, both boys blinked at what just happened. They then remembered the other was nearby. They looked at each other before huffing and looking away.
