Chapter 25: Weapons Factory

As Anakin, Shun, and Ahsoka prepare to launch an attack on the new droid factory on Geonosis. But they wouldn't do it alone.
Flying in, we see Jedi Master Luminara and her padawan Barriss Offee were to join them.
"Captain, the only safe landing zone is south of Skywalker's position," Barriss instructs.
"Yes, General." The Captain nods in understanding.
"Barriss, I assume you've made the necessary preparations." Luminara assumes.
"Precisely as you instructed, Master." Barriss nods.
"Buckle your belts and check your cells, soldiers. We're going in." The Captain said as all the clones grabbed their weapons and prepared for their descent.
Near the base, we see Shun standing alongside Haya and the Bad Batch as they listen to Ahsoka's plans.
In front of her was a holo map of the factory and the bridge in front of it.
"This bridge is our first waypoint. Focus your fire on the gun emplacements, here and here, because it's only..." Ahsoka starts when Anakin suddenly steps in.
"Because it's only after we neutralize the guns that we can push for the factory." Anakin interrupts.
"I was…" Pausing Ahsoka decided to just move on.
Seeing this, Shun and Hunter exchange amused glances before turning their attention back to the planning.
"Yes, we can push for the factory. Now, expect stiff resistance from..." Ahsoka starts again.
"And don't forget to top off your energy cells and ration packs. Once we leave, there'll be no resupply." Anakin interrupts again before turning to his Padawan. "Anything else, Ahsoka?"
"No. I think you've pretty much covered everything in my briefing." Ahsoka said in an annoyed tone.
"Oh boy." Shun mutters.
"Very well, squad dismissed," Anakin said as all the clones moved out.
"So what's next?" Shun asks staying behind.
"You know, Master, my briefings might go better if you didn't interrupt me very time, I tried to…" Ahsoka starts ignoring Shun and focusing on her Master.
"I wasn't interrupting. I was trying to help you." Anakin interrupts again proving her point.
"Which I would appreciate it if you didn't interrupt me to do it. I mean look at Shun. Master Kenobi trusts him enough to be here on his own and you trust me to give the briefing." Ahsoka gestures.
"Master and Shun do things differently than we do. And it's not about trust. It's about getting the job done right." Anakin corrects.
"So you don't trust me to get the job done right! I knew it!" Ahsoka accuses.
"Snips, I never said that," Anakin said.
"No. No, it's okay. I understand. I'm the Padawan, you're the Master." Ahsoka glares.
"Shun, you want to back me up here?" Anakin asks.
"Don't drag me into this. This is between you two." Shun said taking a big step back.
As Luminara and Barriss land, they see Shun waiting for them.
"Master Luminara, long time no see," Shun said going to greet her.
"Padawan, indeed it has. You've caused quite a bit of trouble since our last mission together." Luminara said making him chuckle nervously.
"Oh you heard about the Gray Order too huh?" Shun cringed.
"The whole order knows about it, I hope you and I can still be professional when it comes to the missions," Luminara said.
"Understandable, Master Skywalker and Ahsoka are waiting for us. But I should warn you, they are not in a good mood." Shun warns.
"At it again, are they?" Luminara assumes.
"Yep, good luck." Shun nods walking ahead.
"Again?" Barriss asks.
"Let's just say that they like Padawan Namikaze have a penchant for playing loose with regulations and rules of command," Luminara warns as they approach Anakin and Ahsoka who are still arguing.
"Yeah, but when I say it, they actually listen to me," Anakin said.
"Well, if you don't trust me, then maybe you should send me back." Ahsoka challenges.
"Oh don't tempt me Snips," Anakin warns.
"Uh guys," Shun calls out.
"What?" Both snapped glaring at him.
"Master Luminara is here." Shun gestures.
"Yes and if you're both finished with your little discussion, we do have a factory to destroy," Luminara said before glancing at Barriss. "Well, Barriss? Aren't you going to introduce yourself?"
Looking to Ashoka, Barriss bows. "Padawan learner Barriss Offee, at your service."
Smirking Anakin thought Ahsoka could learn a thing or two from Barriss about manners and respect.
"Glad to meet you. I'm Ahsoka." Ahsoka said holding out her hand for them to shake.
"It's good to see both of you again," Anakin said happy for the backup.
"I wish it was under more peaceful circumstances," Luminara said.
As some injured troopers were being taken away, the 5 Jedi were looking at a holo map of the factory.
"A frontal assault is risky. Our losses will be high." Luminara warns.
"But not as high as they'll be if that factory comes online." Anakin counters.
"Indeed, but there is an alternative," Luminara said adding to the map showing a series of tunnels underneath the factory. "Every Geonosian building has a series of catacombs beneath it that run deep underground. "
"Some of the tunnels are close enough to this cliff wall so that you could cut a hole and make an entry point." Barriss points out to a point at the bottom of the cliff near the factory.
"Once inside, we could find the main reactor, plant the explosives, and blow the factory inside out." Luminara finishes.
"Well, looks like a good way to get lost, if you ask me," Anakin said.
"For the unprepared, perhaps. But I have instructed Barriss to memorize the labyrinth, all 200 junctions." Luminara said.
"Wow you must have some memory," Shun said impressed.
"It pays to be prepared, right Barriss?" Luminara asks.
"Especially when other people's lives depend on your success." Barriss nods.
"I might be able to help too. I can use my seismic sense to help us avoid any problems we might encounter down there." Shun adds.
"Oh yeah, you used that when we were captured by Hondo," Anakin recalls.
"How do we keep the Geonosians occupied while someone else is setting the bombs?" Ahsoka asks.
"Good point, Snips. If whoever is going in there is going to be successful, we'll need to create a diversion." Anakin agrees.
"Precisely. That task will be carried out by you and I, Skywalker, while the destruction of the factory falls to the Padawans." Luminara explains gesturing to Ahsoka, Barriss, and Shun.
"Now, hold on. Who decided that? Walking into that factory could be suicide?" Anakin said unsure about that idea, but only he seemed to have a problem with it.
"Not if you and I are successful in holding Poggle's attention at the bridge," Luminara adds.
"Master, I can do this. I've had riskier assignments." Ahsoka assures.
"But unlike Barriss you aren't prepared for this mission. And unlike Shun you don't have the experience for this kind of thing either." Anakin responds.
"Not to worry, my Padawan is reliable. She can lead all three of them through the maze." Luminara assures.
"We'll be in and out Master," Barriss assures.
"Don't worry Master, dependable Barriss is here. Not to mention I'll have Shun watching my back too." Ahsoka said.
"This isn't the first Droid Factory I've had to sneak into," Shun assures.
"It's decided then," Luminara said handing Ahsoka a bag filled with bombs.
"I guess it is," Anakin said.
"We'll monitor your progress on these chronometers," Luminara said as all 5 of them held out their arms. "Synchronize on my mark. Three, two, one, mark."
All clicking the buttons at the same time the 5 of them shared the same link.
"Let's get going then," Shun said as the three padawans ran off.
Watching them, Anakin had an unsure look on his face.
"You feel Ahsoka is not up to the task?" Luminara assumes.
"I never said that." Anakin defends quickly.
"What is it then?" Luminara asks.
"Nothing. Let's prepare the men." Anakin brushed off but Luminara could tell something was on his mind.
"We'll have to make a bold move if we're to draw them out of the factory and keep their attention on us and not the Padawans," Luminara said as they looked at the holo map.
"The best way to do that is to march our troops straight up the middle, parade style. They can't resist that." Anakin said pointing to the bridge.
"With no cover?" Luminara asks.
"Well, we have to make it tempting, but I might know some members of Clone Force 99 who can help get their attention. Those guys always know how to blow up lots of droids." Anakin adds.
"That's Padawan Namikaze's squad," Luminara recalls.
"Yeah," Anakin confirms before noticing the expression. "What got a problem with Shun now?"
"I'm just not sure what to make of that boy. I've fought alongside him so I know he's a good ally but the choices he's making have me unsure." Luminara said.
"Well, I for one am interested in his goals and am curious to see if he's got what it takes to make it. I just hope more come to see that too." Anakin said.
Inside the factory we see several battle droids being assembled while a Geonosian in formal clothes was conversing with Separatist droid TX-21, this was Poggle the Lesser.
"The factory is operating at 50% production capacity. We have 10 garrisons of new droids ready to deploy." TX-21 explains as Poggle turns to it and makes a clicking noise clearly asking something. "No, the Super Tanks are not ready, but when they are, the Republic forces will be routed. They have no weapon that can penetrate its heavy armor."
Just outside, the factory we see Anakin and Luminara leading the Republic forces toward the factory.
As they got closer the factory gates opened revealing an army of battle droids.
"Here come the droids. Everybody steady. Steady. Keep marching." Anakin orders as they continue the pace.
"I hope the Padawans have made it past the bridge by now," Luminara said.
Looking below the bridge, we see Shun was earth bending the three of them down the cliff. Fortunately, none of the droids had noticed them.
"That's a lot of droids," Anakin noted as more emerged.
"Well, it is a droid factory." Luminara points out.
"As long as we can destroy them faster than they can make them, we'll come out on top." Anakin points out. "What do you say Wrecker? Think you guys are up for the task?"
"Smashing droids fresh from the assembly line? Sounds like a blast to me." Wrecker grins.
"I love your simple logic, Skywalker." Luminara rolls her eyes amused.
"Here we go," Anakin said as he and Luminara ignited their lightsabers.
With the droids close enough they begin shooting at them.
As the Republic forces began pushing back the Geonosians waited until they were in the right positions before flying out of the towers behind them and trying to box them in.
While the fight was getting intense above them, the Padawans ran across the bottom of the canyon and Barriss cut them an opening to the catacombs.
"Well here goes nothing." Ahsoka was about to step in when Barriss put her hand on her shoulder.
"I should go first. I know the way." Barriss reminds.
"Be my guest." Ahsoka gestures.
"Wait," Shun said holding out his arm.
Raising his hoot, the metal plates at the bottom moved allowing him to press his bare foot to the catacombs and use his seismic sense to sense for any nearby enemies.
"All clear. Go ahead." Shun said as Barriss and Ahsoka stepped in.
Making their way through the catacombs, Barriss led them to the upper areas, but as they got closer the more they had to be careful to avoid the Geonosians.
As they made their way down one hallway, Shun felt some vibrations nearby.
"Hide," Shun whispered as they leaned against the walls.
Looking ahead, Barriss noticed two Geonosians were on patrol. Waiting until they turned to leave, they made their way to another hall they looked in horror to see it was full of Geonosians but they didn't seem to be moving.
"They're sleeping," Barriss whispers.
"There is no way we can down this hallway." Shun cringed.
"Shun's right, maybe we can find another way." Ahsoka agrees.
"We don't have time, this direction is the fastest," Barriss argues.
"Maybe but I don't think it's the best direction," Shun said.
"Trust me," Barriss assures before making her way down the hallway of sleeping Geonosians.
Slowly Shun and Ahsoka followed after but as they were halfway through the hand of a sleeping Geonosian landed atop Barriss' head making her freeze up.
"Ahsoka, Shun," Barriss whispers.
Turning around both gulped seeing the situation she was in.
Slowly walking over, Ahsoka lifted the arm off Barriss and gently put it down. But as they made their way out neither of them noticed that the Geonosian had woken up.
Back outside the factory, the battle was getting intense.
As Crosshair and Tech shot the Geonosians out of the sky, Wrecker and Hunter were smashing and blasting all the battle droids that came their way.
In front of them, Anakin and Luminara were deflecting and slashing away battle droids.
"They should have entered the catacombs by now," Luminara said.
"I sure hope they're not lost down there," Anakin said hopeful the Padawans will pull through.
In the catacombs, Shun and Ahsoka were following Barriss.
"Left at the next junction," Barriss instructs, but when they turn they see it was a dead end.
"That's not good," Shun said worried.
"If we make a wrong turn, we may never find our way out," Ahsoka said.
"If we can't find one, I can make one." Shun offers.
"We can't risk them knowing we're here," Barriss said.
"Do you at least remember the rest of the way?" Shun asks.
"Of course I do," Barriss said before noticing a light from above realizing there was a hole to crawl through. "It's not left, it's up."
As Barriss and Ahsoka made their way up Shun was about to follow when he sensed something closing in.
Pausing, Shun narrows his eyes realizing that a Geonosian was following them.
Slowly making his way up the hole the Geonisan followed after but when it did it was immediately blasted with a gust of wind and slammed against the wall. Before it could react, Shun had his lightsaber pointing at his throat.
"Nice try you little pest," Shun growls as Ahsoka and Barriss appear behind him.
"How did you know?" Barriss asks but Shun just lifted his bare feet upwards hinting to his bending.
"Good thing we brought you along," Ahsoka smirks impressed.
Clicking the Geonisan threatened them saying they wouldn't get away with this but before it could say anything else, Shun stabbed it with his lightsaber killing it.
"We better move fast. If this one caught onto us who knows how long we have before more catch on?" Shun warns.
"Shun's right. We have to hurry." Ahsoka said as the three of them ran ahead unaware of how right Shun was.
At the battle outside, multiple droidekas rolled out and fired with their shields up and ready to deflect fire.
"Rex, we could use some help here," Anakin calls out.
"Get up there trooper." Rex orders as a trooper with a bazooka ran forward and fired causing an explosion that sent the droidekas flying back.
In the factory, we see Poggle the Lesser watching a hologram of the battle and he is not happy to see how well the Republic is doing.
"My lord, I beg you to let us use the secret weapons." TX-21 insists. Clicking Poggle asks for the status of them. "We have 20 units ready now and many more on the way."
Clicking Poggle liked the sound of that. Pointing to the hologram Poggle said what he wanted to happen.
"Thank you, my lord." TX-21 said before clicking a button. "Deploy the Super Tanks, Attack Formation."
Out in the front, the gate opens revealing several heavily armored tanks.
"Whoa, what are those?" Wrecker asks getting their attention.
"Looks like the Separatists have a new toy." Luminara noticed.
"Rex, pick your targets." Anakin orders.
"Yes sir," Rex said as their tanks took position. "Elevation 427. Steady. Fire!"
Inside the tanks, the battle droids didn't seem fazed as they kept advancing.
"Our shields are holding. They can't touch us." One droid said.
"That's a relief." The other droid said.
"No ordinary tank could deflect that," Rex said as Tech adjusted his visor.
"Because it's not an ordinary tank," Tech informs getting their attention. "They're wearing shields. Each tank is protected by a thick shield to withstand our attacks."
"Maybe not directly." Anakin pauses getting an idea.
In the main control room, the padawans made their way to the reactor and placed bombs around it.
"That's the last of them," Shun said as Ahsoka pressed her chronometer.
"And now we make ourselves scarce." Ahsoka nods.
However, before they could escape a hangar door opened revealing Poggle, TX-21, several Geonosians, and a Super Tank.
"Well Shun, hate to say it but you were right," Barriss said as they drew their lightsabers.
"Believe me, I'm not happy about this either," Shun said as they braced themselves.
Outside the factory, Anakin's chronometer blinked green.
"The Padawans did it." Luminara declares.
"And just in time." Anakin smiles. as the back hatches of the Super Tanks open up revealing large cannons.
"Fire!" A droid said as multiple shots were fired into the air.
"Get down!" Anakin yells as the clones run for cover.
Raining down from above several blasts destroyed their cannons and sent several clones flying.
Inside the factory, two Geonosians flew in only for Shun to blast them with his airbending. As they plummeted to the ground, Ahsoka and Barriss used this chance to slash them taking them out of the picture.
Clicking Poggle gave a final order before leaving the room and closing the hatch.
"You heard His Highness. Collect their pathetic little bombs, then we will kill them." TX-21 orders.
Aiming its cannon, the Super Tank fired at them. Raising his arms, Shun made a rock wall to try and protect them but it was destroyed instantly knocking Shun back.
Running over, Ahsoka helps him up.
"It's gonna take more than rocks to slow that thing down," Ahsoka said.
"Apparently," Shun said as they used their lightsabers to deflect blaster fire.
While they were distracted the Geonosians flew to the reactor.
Reaching into her bag, Ahsoka took out a bomb. "See if your stupid tank can take this!"
Throwing it, the bomb latches onto the tank right next to TX-21.
"Fool. The Super Tank is impervious to all—" Before TX could finish mocking them the bomb exploded taking him out while the tank was still moving.
"The tank may be impervious but you sure weren't," Shun smirks amused.
As blasters came out its sides, the super tank fired at the three Padawans forcing them to dodge giving the Geonosians all the time in the world to get the bombs off.
"The bombs!" Ahsoka points.
Hurling fire at them, Shun hit one of them but that seemed to signal the others to take flight.
Jumping after them, Ahsoka grabs two by the legs.
"Stupid Green Bugger!" Ahsoka growls as they fly around trying to shake her off.
Swinging upwards, they knocked Ahsoka against the reactor causing her to let go.
Racing in, Shun catches her just before she hits the ground.
As one Geonosian signals for the others, they quickly make their escape down the same hatch the Padawans had snuck through.
Running to it, Barriss tried to stop them but they got away.
Turning around, Barriss saw Shun supporting an injured Ahsoka as the Super Tank closed in.
"Shun! I need a boost!" Barriss calls out.
Nodding, Shun saw Barriss run towards him and launched her over the tank with his airbending making her land on top of the tank.
Just outside the factory, we see the Super Tanks open fire taking out a few Republic tanks and some troopers.
Running behind some rocks, Anakin and Luminara meet up with Rex and Hunter.
"Hunter, Rex, tell the men to fall back." Anakin orders.
"But, sir, you can't be asking us to turn tail and run!" Rex said.
"We can't be giving up this quickly." Hunter agrees.
"That's not what I'm suggesting. I wanna dry those tanks onto the bridge." Anakin said putting on a backpack of bombs.
"I see what you have in mind," Luminara said seeing what Anakin was planning.
"I always come prepared Master. Let's go." Anakin said as they ran to opposite corners of their side of the bridge.
"Come on! Move it!" As all the clones fell back the super tanks made their way across the bridge.
Climbing under the bridge, Anakin and Luminara placed a series of bombs along the path right under the tanks, and the droids had no idea. They were too focused on their attack.
"Give everything you got!" A droid orders.
Climbing out, Anakin and Luminara appeared behind the tanks, and with a push of a button, the bridge exploded and all the tanks plummeted into the canyon below.
Checking his chronometer, Anakin heard no updates from the Padawans.
"Where are they? Those bombs are gonna go off any second now. Rex, any sign of Shun, Ahsoka, or Barriss on your side?" Anakin radios.
"No, sir. But this place is getting ready to blow. The evacuation ships are arriving. I suggest you get on one." Rex advises.
"Not without Ahsoka," Anakin said.
"My Padawan will not fail," Luminara assures.
"I hope not, I promised Obi-Wan to look after Shun," Anakin said hopeful that all 3 made it out.
Inside the factory, the super tank fired at Shun and Ahsoka who narrowly dodged it.
"Hey, where's the 3rd one?" The droid driving the tank asks.
Suddenly from above, Barriss cut an opening with her lightsaber before dropping in and slashing the droids in half.
Opening the hatch of the tank, Barriss had Shun and Ahsoka climb in.
"The bugs took the bombs," Barriss informs.
"What are we gonna do now?" Ahsoka asks.
"I don't know what to do without the bombs," Barriss said completely lost.
"We need another way to blow up the generator. But it would have to be really powerful." Shun said giving Ahsoka an idea.
"Well, this tank could destroy the power generator and probably us along with it," Ahsoka said
"Wait what?" Shun said not liking the sound of this.
"I guess that's our only option." Barriss realized.
Shun wanted to object but he honestly couldn't think of a way to destroy it and get them out of there.
"Master, can you hear me?" Ahsoka said into her commlink.
"Ahsoka set off the bombs! We're trapped!" Anakin said as they heard the sounds of blaster fire and lightsaber swings in the background.
"I'm sorry Master, but we can't make it out," Ahsoka said regretfully.
"Can't make it out? Ahsoka!" Anakin gasped but Ahsoka hung up on him.
"Fire." Going to the controls, Ahsoka activated the big guns to fire at the generator.
As she fired, Shun did the only thing he could think of and metalbended several large plates of steel in front of the tank just as the generator blew shielding them from some of the aftershock but they were still sent flying by the explosion.
From outside, Anakin and Luminara looked in horror to see the factory collapse in front of them creating a giant cloud of dust.
When the dust cleared the factory was a giant pile of rubble with no indication of where the Padawans were.
"Ahsoka? Ahsoka can you hear me?" Anakin called but got no answer.
As Luminara dropped down to her knees, Anakin turned to her thinking she was as worried as him.
"Master Luminara, don't worry," Anakin said trying to motivate her.
"Be at ease, Skywalker," Luminara said confusing him.
"At ease? We need to act now. They could still be alive down there." Anakin said.
"There's not enough time. I sense them drifting away." Luminara said.
"No, we'll get them out," Anakin assures as a ship carrying Rex and several clones and the other had Clone Force 99 and Haya.
"The tank lifters are here to remove the debris as ordered," Rex said.
"Get to work." Anakin orders eager to find them before it was too late.
"We thought Haya could help sniff out Shun's scent. We find him, we can find the others." Hunter said.
"Good thinking, get moving. Wrecker try to help clear some rubble." Anakin orders.
"On it." Wrecker nods as they run off.
Under all the rubble, we see Shun, Barriss, and Ahsoka smooshed in what was left of the tank which gave barely enough room for one to stand.
"How deep down do you think we're buried?" Barriss asks as they use their lightsabers as lights.
"Probably best not to think about it," Ahsoka suggests as Shun struggles to get up. "Shun what are you doing?
"I'm gonna try to get us out of here," Shun said before taking a stance. Raising his hands upwards and then to the sides they banged against the rubble trying to earthbend them out.
"You're gonna earthbend us out?" Ahsoka said hopeful.
"There's a whole factory and what's left of the tank on top of us. There's no way you can move it all. Not when we're this weak." Barriss said.
"Better than just sitting around and waiting for others." Shun pants. "Earth is my element and I refuse to die by it."
"Well, then I hope whatever you're doing works. Because I'd rather have died fighting up there and starving to death down here." Barriss said.
"No one's gonna die," Shun said continuing his attempts to break free.
Up on the surface, Anakin and Luminara were walking through the wreckage.
"We cannot abandon the Padawans." Anakin states.
"You misjudge me. I, too, care for my apprentice. But if their time has come…" Luminara states.
"I refuse to let Ahsoka die and there's no way Shun will die this soon. He has so much to prove. They'll find a way out." Anakin interrupts.
"If my Padawan has perished, I will mourn her, but I will celebrate her as well through her memory," Luminara said.
"Well, I still plan on celebrating this victory with my Padawan, in person. And I don't plan to be the one to tell Master Obi-Wan he lost his Padawan either." Anakin said refusing to give up.
"You have so much belief in the young Avatar but what if some goals were never meant to come happen?" Luminara asks.
"You don't get it. Since the moment Shun arrived in this order people have been questioning his potential and he continues to prove people wrong. He won't go down this easily." Anakin assures.
Back down below, Shun continued to slam his feet and hands against the rubble but nothing was happening.
Looking at him, Ahsoka wished there was some way she could help.
"Shun, there's no shame in admitting defeat. We've saved countless lives elsewhere by destroying this factory." Barriss said.
"Barriss don't be so willing to throw your life away," Shun said in between strikes. "You may think…being a Jedi is nothing more than this, but you and Ahsoka. You have your whole life ahead of you. And so do I. You can't let one bad thing lead you to believe you can just give up and die. You just need to learn to pivot. Life is precious. I'm gonna go home to Yuansu and see my friends and family again. I'm gonna end this war. I'm gonna make the Gray Order. I can't…give up." Shun lists with each strike.
As he drops to his knee, Shun pants heavily running out of energy with his hands still pressed against the metal.
Seeing this, Barriss knew he was right. Luminara had always trained her to believe there was no shame in dying on the battlefield, but there was shame in being so willing to throw away your life. "Hold this," Barriss said giving Ahsoka her lightsaber.
"What are you doing?" Ahsoka asks as Barriss begins crawling toward Shun.
"I'm choosing to live. Master always told me not to use this unless of an emergency and I think this fits." Barriss declares reaching her hand out to Shun. Taking a deep breath, Barriss used the last of her strength to create a blue light in the palm of her hand
Once it touched Shun, he suddenly felt his wounds begin to heal and his strength returning to him.
"B-Barriss?" Shun said in disbelief as Barriss collapsed behind him too tired to move.
"Get us out of here." Barriss pants weakly.
"You can do it Shun. I've seen you do so many amazing things. Don't let a bunch of rocks take you down." Ahsoka declares.
Hearing this, Shun got back on his feet. With his strength back and time running out, Shun knew it was now or never.
Pressing his hands to the rocks, Shun closes his eyes. Using the Force, Shun heightened his seismic sense to extend to the whole factory feeling to the surface.
Feeling the vibrations all around him. If he couldn't move the earth and metal then he needed to go through them.
"Come on budge," Shun growls digging his fingers into the rubble. "You can't keep me down! I'm getting us out of here!" Shun roars as the metal around him begins to turn bright red. "Come on. Come on. Come on!"
Pulling an arm back Shun punches the rubble and a hole melts through it making Ahsoka smile widely.
"Shun you rule," Ahsoka said amazed by him.
"Funny I was about to tell myself the same thing." Shun grins.
Up on the surface, the search was continuing with no results of their location. But when all hope seemed lost, they heard a rumbling noise.
Suddenly blasting through most of the rubble a stream of lava shot to the surface.
Looking through the giant hole the lava had made, a metal cable shot out and attached itself to the wreckage revealing Shun, Ahsoka and Barriss holding onto it.
"Barriss." Luminara gasps.
"Shun! Ahsoka!" Anakin smiles. "Troopers get over here and pull them up!"
Running over, Rex, Wrecker, and Hunter grabbed Shun's cable and pulled them up.
"There he is," Wrecker said pulling Shun into a bone-crushing hug.
"Wrecker…I can't…breathe." Shun choked before Wrecker let go but Haya raced in and affectionately nuzzled him.
"Good to see you made it out, kid." Hunter smiles clapping him on the back.
"I knew they were still alive. I told you we shouldn't give up on them." Anakin said looking at Luminara.
"It's not that I gave up, Skywalker, but unlike you, when the time comes, I am prepared to let my student go. Can you say the same?" Luminara asks.
"You better hope Shun never hears you say those words," Anakin said before making his way down to them. "What happened?"
"Shun happened. He made us a way out." Ahsoka points.
"I can lavabend." Shun declares.
"When did you learn how to do that?" Anakin asks amazed.
"Just now, down there," Shun states.
"Master Obi-Wan would be so proud of you." Anakin smiles.
"Padawan, you did well," Luminara said congratulating Barriss.
"Thank you Master, but if it wasn't for Ahsoka, I might not have been able to destroy the factory and if it wasn't for Shun we would still be down there," Barriss said giving them credit as well.
"Master Skywalker never lost faith in you." Luminara declares.
With the factory destroyed and Shun having learned a new form of bending the battle of Geonosis was turning in their favor.
