Next day
Lucy sat on the edge of her bed, staring at the ceiling as a heavy sigh escaped her lips. The cramped quarters of the Fairy Tail guild felt stifling today, despite the raucous laughter and boisterous chatter that often surrounded her. She loved her friends, of course, but there were moments when even the spirits of companionship couldn't lift the weight on her heart.
"What I really need is something to hug that match my magic ," Lucy murmured, curling into herself. A wave of loneliness washed over her joy . But today, she simply longed for comfort—some tangible symbol of strength and reassurance.
In a burst of inspiration, Lucy sprang to her feet. "I know what I can do!" she exclaimed, her voice ringing with determination. She hurried to her celestial keys, her shimmering collection of magic that connected her with the spirit world. With a flick of her wrist, she summoned Loke again .
In a swirl of golden light, Loke appeared, his charismatic grin immediately lighting up the room. "Lucy, darling! What's the occasion?" He stretched theatrically, his golden hair gleaming in the soft morning light.
"I just… need one more hug," Lucy confessed, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Can you… help me feel strong again?"
Loke raised an eyebrow, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "More hugs? Well, I suppose I can manage that!" He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a snug embrace. For a moment, Lucy felt all her stress melt away. The warmth of Loke's spirit enveloped her, and she leaned into him .
After a few heartwarming moments, Loke stepped back, a mischievous glint sparking in his eyes. "How about we take this hug party to the celestial realm? I think you'll find it rather thrilling!"
Lucy's eyes widened in excitement. "Really? Oh, that sounds amazing!"
"Hold on tight!" Loke winked before conjuring a portal that shimmered like stardust. Together, they stepped through, the world around them shifting into a breathtaking sight—Loke's royal celestial realm, a magical landscape adorned with twinkling stars, radiant flowers, and the soft sounds of distant laughter.
Lucy gasped in awe as they materialized on a light circle, suspended in the sky. "It's beautiful!" she exclaimed, spinning around to take in the majesty surrounding her.
"But wait, there's more!" Loke declared with a flourish. "Come on, let's visit the plush shop!"
Lucy raised an eyebrow as they glided through the celestial realm. "A plush shop? Here?!"
Loke chuckled, leading her down a path lined with vibrant, oversized flowers. "Of course! Even celestial beings appreciate a touch of comfort."
When they arrived at the shop, they were greeted by an assortment of plush toys that seemed to come alive under the twinkling stars. There were plush bunnies, fluffy bears, and even a giant teddy that waved merrily as they entered. "Welcome, welcome!" chirped a tiny mascot who looked like a plush puppy. "We have the finest cuddly goods in all the realms!"
Lucy giggled at the sheer absurdity of the scene and felt her heart lighten. "What do you have in mind?"
Loke scratched his chin dramatically, feigning deep thought. "I think a big celestial lion plush would be perfect for my dear Lucy!"
With a flourish befitting a king, Loke strode to a shelf that held the most magnificent lion plush Lucy had ever seen. Its fur was a soft, blonde hue, and its mane was a vibrant ginger color, looking so plush and inviting that Lucy felt an overwhelming urge to cuddle it.
"Wholly kawaii , that is adorable!" Lucy gasped, clasping her hands together.
Loke slapped down a few celestial coins and, with a big grin, handed her the new plush lion. "Voila! The king of cuddles for the queen of hearts!"
Lucy gasped, her eyes sparkling with delight as she took the plush toy into her arms. "Oh Loke !" She squeezed it tightly, feeling an explosion of joy burst within her. "Thank you so much again !"
"Anything for you, Lucy!" Loke said, puffing out his chest comically. "Now let's go see the real lions—at my palace!"
The pair floated up to Loke's palace, which stood on another light portal , adorned with golden spires that sparkled like diamonds. As they entered, the floor was made of the softest fabric imaginable, and Loke guided Lucy through the grand hall, showcasing various celestial treasures.
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed through the halls, making Lucy jump slightly. "What was that?" she asked, her heart racing.
"Oh, that's just Leonardo ," Loke replied casually, leading her to a massive door. "He's a bit of a show-off."
Loke swung open the door, revealing a huge room filled with lines lounging around on plush cushions, basking in the soft glow of lanterns hanging from the ceiling. One lion, in particular, stood out—he was big, fluffy, and had the same shade of blonde fur as Lucy's plush lion.
"Leonardo, meet Lucy!" Loke announced dramatically, pointing to her with a flourish.
"Nice to meet you," Lucy said, waving cautiously. The lion blinked slow, lazy blinks before yawning and stretching out his paws.
"Do you want to pet him?" Loke asked, nudging her playfully.
"Would I?" Lucy rushed forward eagerly. As her fingers grazed Leo's soft mane, she felt an immense wave of joy wash over her. "You are just so cute !"
Leo rolled onto his back, inviting the attention further. Lucy laughed, giving him gentle belly rubs, and Loke watched with amusement, admiring the connection they were building.
"Looks like someone enjoys your company," Loke said, pretending to wipe a fake tear. "Lucy, the lion cuddler !"
They spent hours watching with Leonardo and the other lions, each moment filled with laughter and joy. After an exciting play session, Loke suggested, "How about we share a celestial picnic under the stars?"
"Oh, that sounds lovely!" Lucy agreed, her heart brimming with happiness.
With a snap of his fingers, Loke conjured a lavish picnic spread, complete with celestial fruits and delicacies. They settled onto a blanket adorned with twinkling lights, surrounded by a beautiful view of the cosmos.
As they munched on cosmic snacks, Lucy gazed at the starlit sky. "You know, I always imagined the celestial realm to be overly serious," she admitted, a smile playing on her lips. "But it's actually filled with joy and whimsy!"
Loke feigned shock. "Serious? In my realm? Never!" He popped a star-shaped fruit into his mouth, chewing exaggeratedly. "I much prefer laughter over pompousness. Besides, who else would keep the lions entertained?"
Lucy chuckled, and as they shared stories and laughter, she realized that this experience was one of the most joyful moments of her life.
"Hey, Loke?" she said suddenly, her tone shifting to more heartfelt. "Thank you for today. I really needed this."
"Of course, it's what friends are for!" Loke replied, his eyes sparkling with sincerity. "Plus, I love hanging out with you. You bring more sunshine than these stars ever could."
Lucy felt warmth radiate in her chest as she looked at her lion plush in her lap. "And you bring laughter to the overwhelming."
Suddenly, she had an idea. With her playful side surfacing, Lucy picked up her plush lion and dramatically announced, "This new lion is named Loke Jr., and he's my royal companion!"
Loke gasped in cute mock voice . "How dare you name a lion after me? He's clearly more handsome than I am!"
"Oh please! You wish!" Lucy teased, clutching the plush lion and sticking her tongue out at him.
Their laughter floated across the celestial realm, echoing amongst the stars.
As the night deepened, the twinkling stars began to shift colors, painting the sky in vibrant shades. Lucy leaned back against the blanket, a satisfied smile gracing her features. She felt stronger, bolder, and most importantly, happy.
With a content smile, she spoke softly. "Today reminded me that I have strong friendships in my life—ones that make me feel like I can take on the world."
"And you will," Loke assured her, patting her shoulder. "You're Lucy Heartfilia, and that name carries more power than the cosmos itself."
With renewed strength and joy in her heart, she nodded, clutching her lion plush tighter. Perhaps a hug was exactly what she needed, and in the celestial realm, with Loke by her side, she had found so much more than that—a cherished adventure filled with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments that made her heart soar.
And as the starlight twinkled above them, Lucy knew she could face anything the world threw her way, two plush lion hug at a time.
