Chapter 78: A Truly Terrifying Magic

Year: X760. 24 years till Canon begins.

Cade POV:

I quickened my pace as I hurried up the mountain path. Surely it couldn't be that much longer until I reached wherever Vicini was?

It had been around… what, 15 minutes since leaving Leo and Layla in the cave? It had been hard to keep track of time when I was constantly thinking of other things rather than the current time.

I had been hoping to god that Layla and Leo were safe and well. They had assured me that they would get out of the cave and find a way back to me, yet I was still waiting to run into them. 'I can worry about them after I defeat Vicini… I'm almost there!'

I chose not to slow down, but rather to increase my speed as I kept up my dash across the mountain path.

One thing that I had spotted while running across the mountains here, was that the Rune Knights had made it to the bottom of the mountain. I was able to spot several vehicles that they had traveled in to get here. Presumably the criminals and Maximilian had been arrested by now. I also assumed that the guests were in safe hands. It made me feel a lot more relieved about them, and let me focus more on Vicini.

I chose not to signal them, as I had to real way to say that I was an ally or not. Not to mention the fact that I had to keep moving. Chances are they would ask me to stop or come back to speak to them. Once I had taken care of Vicini, I'd be sure to let them know where I was.

One thing that this long eun across the mountain here had helped me with, was how I would deal with Vicini when I encountered him.

Oh, I would be giving him a flurry of attacks, that much was certain. But I was nervous that I would end up losing myself like I almost did back when I was in Heartfilia mansion. I wouldn't want to scare any of the guests, as well as my mother and Lilly.

I was constantly pushing the idea of either of them getting hurt out of my mind. I couldn't bare the thought of them injured by Vicini. Still, Vicini shouldn't be that hard to defeat. From what I can guess, Contract Magic doesn't seem to be that offensive of a magic for someone to use. I'm guessing that it involves someone scribbling on paper. 'I shouldn't able to waste any time with him.' I thought as I kept up my run.

Yes, he'd definitely be the easiest person that I had encountered in my time since being a wizard. I'll have to make it quick when I get up there. The sooner I beat him, the better!

I spotted that I was approaching a corner that looked like it might lead me to where the carriages were parked. Perhaps Vicini would be around the corner? I turned the corner and groaned when I saw that the path kept going up more hills! I could admittedly see why Vicini came up here; with all the turns and tight passageways, it would be hard to be caught up here.

As I kept running, I felt the whole mountain shake a little. I nearly fell over due to the sudden shift beneath me. I was just able to spot huge jets of water shoot off a part of the mountain that was far behind me. I swore I saw someone fall of the mountain edge while in the water and fall into a lake that was beneath them.

I don't think that was Layla or Leo. They seemed to be an adult female with long hair. Did they fight Layla and Leo? If so, then I guess they lost the fight.

'Leo. Layla. I'll come look for you guys once everything is settled with Vicini!' I thought as I jot running and came to a hill that had a faint yellow glow coming over it.

Light from a torch. There was people up over that hill! 'There! That must be where Vicini is!' I thought with certainty as I sprinted up the hill.

As I came up to peak of the hill, the yellow glow got brighter and brighter, with me making out shadows from the torchlight. It looked like… shadows of people!

'Yes! I bet that's Vicini! I'll finish this!' I prepared myself as I came to the top of the hill and crossed over it.

And I nearly fainted when I saw what was over the hill.

It was a small clearing that wasn't that interesting environmental wise. There was a huge cave that seemed to have torches inside of it. In the distance, I could see several carriages that previously contained the guests!

But none of these things were what made me freeze up in horror.

Not far across from me, there was a short man who was nearly bald, and wore simple clothing. He was sitting down with a huge flat stone just across from him. To his side, Lilly was kneeling next to him. And the man… He was…

He was holding a knife to Lilly's neck.

I quickly regained my senses hearing Lilly's voice. "Cade!" She yelled with fear. "You have to-!"

"Ah, ah, ah." The man holding her hostage quickly said as he moved the knife a bit closer to her throat. "No speaking young lady." He said in a patronising tone.

"L-Lilly!" I screamed with fear as I instinctively ran towards her.

"NOT SO FAST!" The man frantically said as he brought the knife against Lilly's skin. "No sudden moves, or I kill your little girlfriend here!" He ordered to me.

I immediately froze as I better understood the situation. It felt like the blood in my body had froze over. I had to obey this man. There was no other choice here. I wouldn't dare to consider an alternative thinking of the consequences.

I held out my hands to the man. "P-Please. Just… don't kill her."

The man smiled as he beckoned me to come closer to him with his head. "Come take a seat Cade - Yes, I know your name, as well as your mother's name." He beckoned opposite of the flat stone. "Don't even think about using your magic. I WILL know if you try anything, and the consequences will be severe for your girlfriend here."

I slowly approached the man, my eyes not leaving Lilly, before taking a seat across from him.

The man gave a small smile. "Now then, introductions are needed I think. I am Vicini, but I think you might have figured that out by now." He greeted me.

I was putting on a calm and careful demeanour to the best of my ability on the outside. But I was struggling to keep my true emotions and feelings right now from breaking through me.

Rage.

Anger.

Fury.

'This man… he deserves no mercy from me…'

Vicini. He's the first person I've met that I actually want to beat senseless. I wanted to pummel this little, arrogant man into the ground and make sure that I punched him until he fell unconscious – and I think I would enjoy it. Maybe that wouldn't have felt right with me before tonight… but now it felt like the right thing to do if I got the chance. It felt like a satisfying idea.

He had kidnapped my mother, kidnapped Lilly, kidnapped every other guest at the party. And he was holding my girlfriend hostage right in front of me. And I couldn't do anything about it.

A hot, bubbling wave of emotions were inside of me, as I struggled to snuff them out. I could feel the very veins in my arms bulging with rage. My fists were clenched, and my fingernails were digging hard into my skin. 'This man…'

Vicini was at least able to distract me from my inner feelings by speaking up again. "So, you are Cade. You have made quite the mess of my plan tonight." He chuckled, though I knew that he too was seething with rage at my presence.

"Now as you can see, I have a rather important person right here next to me." He smugly stated. "But guess what! I'm willing to let her go if you do one tinsy tiny little thing for me." He said as he smiled wickedly.

I swallowed a lump in my throat as I did my best to calm down. "And what's that?"

Vicini's smile grew as he summoned out a fancy piece of paper with a feather quill and placed it down on the stone and slid it toward me. "Sign this."

My gaze drifted down to the slip of paper.

I, Cadewell Philipe, will be compelled to forever obey the words and power of this contract. No magic can break this contract beside the contract's owner.

I shall not be allowed to —

I shall not be allowed to —

I shall be forced to —

Contacted User: Vicini Viper

Signed: _

"Th-This must be a joke!" I yelled with frustration, barely keeping my emotions in check. "You can't expect me to sign a contract without me knowing what will happen when I do!"

Vicini raised an eyebrow. "You think that you're in a position to bargain with me?"

I gritted my teeth as I looked down at the contact again. 'I have no idea what this would do to me if I sign it! What the hell does Vicini want with me?!'

Vicini seemed to notice my internal anger as he spoke up to me. "You know what, I think I'll give you a hint. If you sign this contact, then I'll leave all the guests and your girlfriend here." He announced with an unusual smile. "Seriously, I mean it."

"Oh really?" I retorted with skepticism. "You'd just leave? How the hell am I meant to believe you!?"

"Despite what you may think of me, I am a man of my word Cade. I'll leave here and set everyone free if you just sign the contract." He beckoned to the paper again. "If you don't want to then…"

Vicini pressed the knife he was holding closer to Lilly's neck which caused a small trickle of blood to be spilled. Lilly winced as that happened, showing distress and pain. "Ahhh!"

"YOU BASTARD!" I roared with anger as I witnessed that. Had Lilly not been hostage right now, this man would have been absolutely thrashed by me.

Vicini kept his calm as he saw my outburst. "Tick-tock, tick-tock. What's it going to be Cade? The contract or the love of your life? My patience is running thin."

I stuffed back my rage as I looked to Lilly. She was terrified, with her eyes wide and tears at the corners of them. She desperately looked like she wanted to say something to me but was too scared to do so.

I looked down at the paper, struggling to take my eyes off her. 'I… have no choice…! I have to do this to save Lilly. Even if there is a chance that she and the others will be ok, I have to take it!' I thought as I picked up the feather quill that was alongside it. Vicini was watching with eagerness. I could hear him muttering excitedly under his breath.

"Yes… yes, yes, yes!"

I took a deep breath as I put the quill to the paper and began to sign it. I wrote out my full name at the bottom as the contract glowed a bright golden colour.

It was then I felt an ominous and lingering sensation rush over me and all throughout my body, before it then vanished as quick as it came. 'What… was that…?'

Then the contract disappeared into thin air.

Vicini laughed as he saw that happen. "Oh yes! It worked, it worked!" He cheered with a maniacal laugh. "Oh right, your girlfriend? Well, I don't need her anymore. A deals a deal."

Vicini dropped the knife that he was holding to Lilly's neck as she gasped with relief. I quickly scrambled over to her, ecstatic that she was free. When we reached each other, we embraced tightly. "C-Cade!" Lilly bawled as she cried tears. "I-I'm sorry! Because of me you-"

"Hey, it's ok." I assured her as I kissed her on forehead, still hugging her. "You're ok now. Did he hurt you? Please Lilly, tell me he didn't-"

"He didn't." Lilly interrupted suddenly as she tried to wipe away some tears. "Cade it's that contract! Vicini used that contract to stop you from attacking him!"

I broke the hug as I looked at Lilly, confused by what she meant. "Wh-What?"

I was interrupted from my thinking by Vicini, who was clapping his hands slowly. "Oh what a show that was to see. Such a lovely reunion that will never be experienced again!" He chuckled evilly.

"Asshole! Don't think I've forgotten about you!" I yelled as I ran to punch Vicini square in the jaw. As I got closer to the small man, I pulled back my fist and-!

I stoped right before Vicini, my fist now lowered.

I was struck silent by what happened there. I yelled as I moved to punch him again, yet my fist wasn't moving!

'Wh-What's going on!? I can't move my fist to hit Vicini! It's like it's stuck!' I thought with insanity. 'What the hell is this?!'

I tried to cast a spell to knock him out, but I couldn't cast my magic! I could still feel it in my body, but I couldn't channel it! What was this wicked magic?

I was wide eyed with fear as I was frantically trying to get myself out of whatever trance I was in. "Wh-What the hell?!" As I was doing this, Vicini cackled to himself.

"Oh, that's a look to die for!" He laughed. "Did you feel that when you signed my contract? The ominous feeling that washed over you? That was the feeling of your freedom flying away!"

"What the hell did you do!?" I shouted with rage to Vicini as he simply shrugged, holding out his hands.

Vicini snapped his fingers as the contract that I just signed had appeared in the air before me. I quickly snatched it and read it. "Well… may as well show you. Take a look Cade, and see how doomed you really are!"

This time, the blank lines of the contract were filled in.

I, Cadewell Philipe, will be compelled to forever obey the words and power of this contract. No magic can break this contract beside the contract's owner.

I shall not be allowed to harm Vicini Viper in any physical or mental way.

I shall not be allowed to purposefully ignore or avoid the orders of Vicini Viper

I shall be forced to obey every order that Vicini Viper asks of me.

Contacted User: Vicini Viper

Signed: Cadewell Philipe

A cold feeling of despair washed over me as I read the filled lines.

'I… can't harm Vicini? And… I have to obey every order that he gives me!?' I thought with disgust.

"This can't be real! There's no way I just handed over my freedom to you like that!" I snarled with rage, trying to destroy the contact by ripping it up. But I was failing to do so! "I'll never obey you, no matter what those words may say!"

Vicini looked relaxed and had a sense of smugness around him. "Want to test that?" He snapped his fingers as the contract disappeared. "Cade, punch your girlfriend across the face."

I was aghast as my fist swung round and punched Lilly on her right cheek at a lightning speed. She gave a shriek of pain as she fell to the ground. "AAAAAHHHHH!"

"LILLY!" I screamed with horror. "YOU BASTARD! HOW COULD YOU!?" I bellowed at Vicini with primal rage.

I put all my strength into moving my body to strike Vicini, but I was stuck! I couldn't move to strike him! "A-Argh! Y-You bastard, I'll-"

Vicini gave a scoff as I insulted him. "Cade, I don't want you speaking to me like that again. No more insults." He ordered plainly.

Suddenly all the vile comments I was about to yell at Vicini were quieted as I found my mouth sealed shut. "Ngh-!"

Vicini smirked, putting a hand on his chin. "Also, Cade, I order you call me sir from now on." He added as his smug look got even filthier to look at.

I was trembling with rage, as I had found myself powerless against Vicini. I couldn't harm him no matter what I did! Not only that, but he had made it to where I couldn't even speak against him! He only laughed out loud as I clenched my fists, unable to strike him.

Vincini snapped his fingers as the contract disappeared from my hands into thin hair, while my mind went frantic as I tried to think of some way out of this situation. I thought of various different things that I could possibly do, but nothing came to mind that would help me here!

I was interrupted by the sounds of Lilly whimpering behind me. "L-Lilly!" I gasped in remembrance, as I ran to see if she was alright.

Lilly was shaking on the ground and was clenching her right cheek where I had punched her. "I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean it! This magic is forcing me to do things that I don't want to!" I pleaded as I held Lilly tightly. "P-Please tell me you're ok-!?"Lilly grabbed me and hugged me tightly as she began to cry in my chest. She was sobbing profusely, as she let out all her pain and fear. "P-Please tell me I didn't hurt you too badly!"

"M-Me!?" Lilly winced as she pulled back a little, her face blotched with tears. "C-Cade… I'm scared for YOU! What will happen to you!?" She choked with sadness.

I hugged her tightly as well, not wanting to think at what could possibly happen to her and the others now that I was in this position. "I-I…"

"Tch, what an eyesore. Cade come here." Vicini ordered with distain.

I was furious as I was forced away from Lilly and found myself being brought to Vicini, standing to the side of him.

"Good. Now that I've got you as essentially my slave, I don't feel the need to stay up here anymore." Vicini remarked.

"Wh-What? You're leaving… sir?" I practically spat that last word out.

Vicini shrugged. "I was being honest when I said that I would leave here. But you'll be coming with me Cade. I may have missed out on millions of jewels here, but I have a powerful wizard like you here. Someone who was able to beat Maximilian and Lynne no less." Vicini said, as he scratched his chin in thought. "Ha! With a wizard like you, I can practically have you rob a bank for me."

"What about the captured guests sir?" I questioned carefully. "You said that you would let them go."

"Oh, them? Yes I know what I said… But I lied. No reason why I should let them go." Vicini explained with a laid-back look.

"What!? But you promised!" I shouted with desperation.

Vicini closed his eyes as he gave a light chuckle. "Well I lied. I do that a lot."

More and more anger built up in me as I looked down to Vicini. Now that we were side by side, I saw that he was about a foot and a half shorter than me. What was interesting, was that I noticed a faint glint that was in a large pocket of his.

"Well Cade, I'd say goodbye to your girlfriend here. You won't be seeing her ever again." Vicini said as he turned away and walked the opposite way I came up the hill.

As this technically wasn't an order by Vicini, I was aloud to say what I wanted. Though I had to be careful in case Vicini heard.

"Lilly… Just hold on. I'll be ok, I promise." I assured her. "Just… try and find the Rune Knights!" I hissed as quietly as I could.

I then carefully bent down as I left something on the ground, winking to Lilly as I did so.

I was then forced to turn away from Lilly, as I moved to rejoin Vicini who was walking away.

'I-It's… ok!' I assured myself, trying to remain calm. 'I have a plan going in my head about how to get out of this! I just need to be careful about how I speak to Vicini!'

'Lilly… I'll be sure to make Vicini pay. For your sake!'

No POV, Lilly Evans:

Lilly's face stung as she stood back up. Cade had punched her quite hard back then.

Thought it wasn't his fault! That monster Vicini had forced him to do that! Lilly had never wished for serious harm to come to another person before. But Vicini was seriously contending to be the first.

Lilly walked over to where Cade had left that shiny object that he had taken from Vicini's pocket. She had seen him pickpocket it when they were both side by side, and Vicini had his eyes closed.

Lilly bent down and picked it up. It was a key! A small one, that looked like it would unlock maybe some handcuffs.

Ah! The key would unlock the cuffs that held the captured guests! Lilly had gotten lucky as she had used a hairpin to unlock hers, but it broke afterwards. Now she could free everyone!

And Cade said that the Rune Knights were on their way up here! She could alert them about what was going on! Lilly darted into the cave and prepared to free everyone.

Though she felt a bit nervous about one thing.

How would she explain this to June?

Ooh… June had always wanted Cade to be safe after his father died. How would she explain that Cade had been taken as a slave?

Perhaps she could explain it in a more positive light. Cade had been blackmailed after all, and Lilly had been held hostage. June would understand.

Lilly prayed that her boyfriend would be ok. 'Cade… You promised me that you would be ok. Please… I don't want to lose you to that criminal.' She thought as she began to free everyone.

Cade POV:

Me and Vicini were currently walking through the mountains. We had ditched the pathway that Vicini and I had previously traveled up, and now we seemed to be going across an older pathway, that was bleaker and narrower.

We had been walking for around ten minutes now in complete silence. Vicini hadn't noticed that the key he had in his pocket was missing. If he didn't notice it then, I doubted that he ever would.

I had also been praying internally that Vicini wouldn't ask anything else of me, as I would be forced to answer.

But it seems like my luck had ran out.

"So, tell me Cade, what magic do you use? I'd just love to know what my newest ally has at their disposal." Vicini questioned as we walked across a steep verge.

"I have a basic Requip storage, as well as Ice Magic that I awakened when I was ten years old. I also have Enchantment Magic that I learned Sir." I explained, the forced words rolling off my tongue.

'Please don't ask where I learned Enchantment Magic, please don't ask where I learned Enchantment Magic…!' I thought with immediate fear.

Vicini turned around to face me with a raised eyebrow. "Hmm. That sounds powerful, guess you must be lucky to posses a magic like that. Thought of course, anything that you have now belongs to me."

'He didn't ask where I got it from… Thank god for that…' I thought with relief.

While less talking was better for me in current circumstances, I was still bugged by one detail that I had failed to guess.

'Where are we going?' I thought with a slow sense of dread. This was something I HAD to know.

"Vicini, Sir, where are we going?" I asked politely, though my actual attitude was near breaking point.

"We are going far, far, away from the Rune Knights." Vicini answered. "Once we get far enough away from them, I think we'll take a trip round to Magnolia. The bank that they have is just waiting to be robbed!"

'Magnolia!' I thought, jumping to attention. 'He wants to go to Magnolia!?'

'That's perfect!' I grinned upon realising that.

My plan to escape this nightmare that I was facing involved heading to Magnolia!

Because there was one person that would help me get out of this.

Gildarts. If I was able to trick Vicini into ordering me to rob Gildarts's house, then I would be able to tell him my situation! He could knock me out and blow away Vicini within the blink of an eye!

Master Makarov was also an option… but that would mean that I would have to head through all of Magnolia to get to the Guild. That would be pretty risky if I met someone that I knew. Also, Master was a man that would try to avoid physically harming his guild members.

Gildarts would understand what needed to be done to get me out of this form of slavery. All he had to do was knock me out and finish off Vicini.

"Magnolia? That is on the other side of these mountains I believe." I spoke as we kept walking.

"That's right. It'll probably be sunrise when we get to the town, so I'll be waiting for the right opportunity to strike. I hear there is a wizard's guild there. I'll have to be careful…"

I looked to the moon and saw that it was beginning to lower in the sky. We probably had around an hour or so until the sun began to rise.

'Assuming we enter Magnolia in the daytime then it'd be hard to do anything without Vicini watching me all the time. How would I go about altering Gildarts without Vicini knowing?' I thought with difficulty.

I did keep trying to think of a way to better seek for help, perhaps in Magnolia, but it was hard to do so when we were turning round steep corners and verges with questionable durability. It was after we had crossed up a hill, that I thought back on Lilly.

'If Lilly noticed the key then all the guests should be free by now. That's some relief if things don't work out so well for me. I just hope mother can bare the news of what's happened to me.' I thought with a twist in my stomach.

'They should have found the Rune Knights by now. Lilly should have explained the situation to them about me and Vicini. Perhaps they are already working to try and find a way to stop Vicini.' I thought with small hope. Then again, these are the Rune Knights I'm thinking about after all.

After a few minutes of walking in silence, we had both came to a steep verge that cut off the path we were walking on. Vicini peered over the edge before he turned to me.

"I would have been stuck up here if I didn't have a wizard like you to generously help me." Vicini said as he beckoned to the huge drop off point.

"…Hmm? What do you want me to do Sir?" I questioned with fake innocence.

Vicini scowled. "You know what I want you to do dammit! Make a bridge that lets us both walk over to the other side!" Vicini demanded, unhappy at my attitude.

I found myself creating a basic bridge of stone that led across to over the other side of the pathway. Me and Vicini crossed with nothing stopping us. After we came to the other side, Vicini ordered me to destroy the bridge, and I did so easily.

'It'd be best if Vicini didn't learn about the fact that I can turn ice into stone. Don't want him knowing how versatile my magic actually is.' I thought, as I saw that Vicini was scowling up at me.

"So, you think you're funny after pulling a stunt like that eh?" He challenged. "First things first Cade, from here on out, I'm ordering you to follow my instructions the exact way I tell you do them!"

"Yes… Sir." I felt the powerful force of the contract swell over me and alter what was left of my remaining freedom.

"Good, good." Vicini said, looking pleased. "Ah, and one more thing in case you try to do anything nasty that might delay me: Tell me where you live Cade."

My eyes went wide as I tried to resist that power of the contract, but it was no use. "I live just on the hills outside of Magnolia Sir." I said with a terrible feeling building up in my stomach.

Vicini looked shocked to hear that. Then he grew suspicious of me. "Magnolia? You sounded like you didn't know where the town was earlier when I first mentioned it… You weren't lying to me were you!?"

"I did not say anything that may be classed as a lie at that point Sir." I spoke. I would have tried to word that better, but I was powerless.

Vicini was a bit dumbfounded after that response. "Oh right… Well how much do you know about Magnolia?!" Vicini quickly added.

I grunted as I felt the words leaving my mouth, even though I sealed my mouth shut. "While I live just outside Magnolia, I have been a constant visitor of the town ever since I was born. There is many different places to visit and things to see. But the most popular thing in Magnolia… is… Fairy Tail."

Vicini took a step back in surprise. "Fairy Tail? THAT'S the guild in Magnolia!?"

I gave a forced nod. Vicini was grumbling to himself as he turned away from me.

Then he froze as he slowly turned around to face me.

"Are you…. A wizard at Fairy Tail Cade?" Vicini wondered with hesitation.

I was forced to Requip out of my armour, as I then rolled up my right sleeve to reveal my red Fairy Tail guild mark. "Yes… Sir." I spat with nerves rapidly forming inside of me.

Vicini took another step back as he then began to laugh quite loudly. This laugh then turned into a cackle.

"This is just brilliant! Brilliant! You were trying to trap me, weren't you? Ooh sneaky, I'll admit, but you failed, failed! You thought that I wouldn't figure it out?!" Vicini proclaimed. "Cade, I demand you tell me what you were planning to do when you made it down into Magnolia!"

My mouth opened as I forced the words out. "My plans were to attempt to visit a friend that I know is more powerful than me, so that they can knock me out and defeat you." I explained with a shaky voice at the end.

Vicini grinned as he moved back towards me. "Aw… you were willing to go as far as having yourself beaten up to save yourself… Well too bad!"

Vicini then punched me in the gut quite hard as I fell to my knees. He then began to kick me repeatedly.

"Well? This will teach you to not try and trick me like that again!" He yelled as he kept kicking me all across my body.

I did my best to cover myself as I felt Vicini's boot strike me across my chest and head. Despite the man's short stature and no offensive magic, he was still hurting me.

He did of course stop kicking me as he now loomed over me. "Get up." He ordered.

As much as I wanted to stay down due to the pain in my legs, I was forced back up on my feet. Vicini nodded, as if he was satisfied at what he saw.

"Good, good. Now let's continue. I'll be the one to tell you what to do when we get to Magnolia." He insisted as we began to walk through the mountains again.

'This can't be happening! He was able to guess that I was a wizard at Fairy Tail, and that I was going to see Gildarts or Master! I failed dammit!' I thought with anger

'What can I do now!? For once in my life, I don't know how I can go about escaping this! None of my spells can break me out of this! I'm powerless!'

We had come to another, much smaller verge. I was getting ready to jump over it, but Vicini stopped me.

"Ah, ah, ah. Don't be too eager Cade. I'd like you to get down for me and be the bridge that I can cross." He ordered coldly.

I would have spat at him if I could, but instead, I was forced to lie down and stretch myself out and over the verge, acting like a bridge for Vicini to walk across.

Vicni chose to take his time walking over me as he decided to test the strength of his new bridge. All the meanwhile I was forced to look down at the steep drop below us. Given my fear of heights, this nearly made me vomit wildily. Thankfully I avoided this by closing my eyes.

Vicini began to put his weight on my back. "Mmm. You are definitely strong and well built for your age. And you follow orders without question. I can see why that Lilly girl fell for you. A shame you will never see her again." Vicini remarked as he began to walk off me.

During this time that Vicini had been controlling me like a puppet, one burning feeling was constantly over me. That being hate towards Vicini.

But another feeling was building up and actually taking over the hate.

It was absolute terror that shook me to my core.

'I was wrong…' I admitted internally. 'I thought that Vicini's Contract Magic would be the least dangerous magic that I'd ever face.'

'No… It's by far the most dangerous magic I've ever encountered in my life. I'm trapped in this slavish nightmare that I can't wake up from! How can I escape!?'

To be continued…

FairyQuill - …Lol, it was inevitable.
