Hey there!

If you're reading this and have read my previous work Fusion and Iron, welcome back! If you haven't, welcome to the FusionFall FIG fan fiction series!

If you're new to this, or this is your first fic of mine you're seeing, feel free to go ahead and check out the first one as well as the In-Betweens if you're interested. Otherwise, if you want to dive in without any context, by all means, go ahead. You may have a lot of questions, though.

Now, normally I would go on a long tangent about why I love the game and what it meant to me in my life, but we've already done that. This segment won't be as long as the first one, and it'll be less of a personal life story.

So, something I'd like to mention is that across all of the websites, Fusion and Iron hit 3,000+ reads. That is something that I would never think to happen, and I would like to personally thank everybody for being a part of Niles' audience for stopping Lord Fuse.

I have to be honest with all of you, this initially was mostly just a creative vent to finally make something as authentic as I can make it (given what I know about the game) so I can stop feeling a bit of nostalgia.

Though, surprisingly, this is turning into something much more than that. I thought about originally leaving it off with the current epilogue to what Niles has, but I did make the promise that if I hit more than 2,000 reads, I would make a second one. As you know, here we are.

This is incredible!

The first fic mostly dived into establishing our boy Niles, the Powerpuff Girls, and several other CN characters. I have to admit, I used a lot of the plot to weave Niles' personal journey rather than focus on the whole crossover aspect of the game as a whole.

Additionally, some of the game's direction went into the story to stay sort of authentic, but we're past the point of no return now. The universe has become less game-oriented and more of what I had in mind (gritty, bloody, with some goofy CN fun), like a 2000s older brother with an emo phase.

If at any point, this feels a bit disorienting or the plot is hard to follow, think of chapters as having 1-2 per storybeat. That's what I'm trying to go for at least, since there are technically multiple protagonists. (not just Niles, I know y'all come here for the canon mostly. Though give my boy some love please!) Some chapters will just be 1 offs, focusing on side characters and/or stories in the background. It's a crossover, and I need to give everybody a little bit of love.

Now, we will be focusing on some other characters in the fic but won't forget Niles' purpose. I know I may have shied away from several popular shows (like Ben 10, Adventure Time, Generator Rex, Sym-Bionic Titan, and so on), though the intent is to give them some spotlight now since we're focusing on the war.

I really try to put effort into this stuff so that it can be good quality, mainly for me to look back over when I'm older but also leave behind in dedication to the game I grew up on.

The goal is to get a chapter out every 1-2 weeks if possible. Breaks may come up, but I'll do my best!

Both artists are great to work with, and if you're looking for art and/or logos inspired by the game (or just for their styles), I'd recommend them!
