Prologue

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or its characters.

Setting: The story starts after the 3rd hokage is dead and his memorial service is held. When the villagers start to take their anger out on Naruto, he leaves the village because he's had enough. Expect kick-ass and badass Naruto around Shippuden. Other surprises as the story progresses.

"I…I can't believe it, the old man really died. He was supposed to be the best of the best, the hokage damn it, but that snake managed to defeat him. I'll kill that snake for what he's done." Naruto says, his voice breaking down.

Naruto looks into his cabinet for a pack of instant ramen only to see cobwebs. "Just great, no ramen either." He says, very annoyed now that he must go all the way to the store for more ramen.

Naruto exits his apartment and walks down the street. The gloomy look on his face reflected the scenery of the leaf village, chilly, cloudy, and depressing. As he's walking by, a random villager says, "Demon scum, you don't belong in this village, you probably conspired with Orochimaru to kill the sandaime-sama." Naruto's heart stopped for a split second, that comment was too much for him to handle. As Naruto is frozen in shock and disbelief, the civilian goes up to Naruto attacking him with a half-drunk bottle of cheap liquor. He had no idea what came over him as he had the man in a headlock with a kunai pointed at his head near his temple.

"LET ME GO DE-." His words were cut short as Naruto pierced his head with a kunai, killing him.

Naruto looks at what he's done and an overwhelming sense of regret washes over him. He looked around to see if anyone saw what happened and saw no one. He hides the body in a bush and hopes for the best. A/N: very stupid I know, but at this point in time Naruto is not very smart.

"Forget it, I'm leaving this crappy village. I've done so much for this place, but nobody can acknowledge me in the slightest. But first, I need to do something."

Since the hokage tower is empty due to no acting Kage, Naruto stealthily enters the building and starts going through the hokage's jutsu library. He grabs an empty scroll next to the scroll of seals and starts copying the jutsu onto the blank scroll minus the shadow clone jutsu (For obvious reasons.) and pockets the scroll. 'I'm gonna need these for training.' He thinks to himself.

He exits the tower and goes back to his apartment and packs his things. 'I'm really doing this.' He thinks to himself. He starts writing a note and folds it up when he finishes. He then leaves it on his bed then proceeds to exit the village

Outskirts of the land of fire

"Ok I need to start training." Naruto says as he pulls out the scroll with the multitudes of Jutsu.

"Ok, first jut- wait a second, this is a chakra control technique, but maybe this could help me." The notes on chakra control exercises Naruto wrote down described several different techniques based on different elements. "Gah, I don't know my chakra nature. Although I do remember kakashi-sensei talking about learning my elemental affinity by using chakra paper."

Naruto finds the nearest town and goes into a ninja shop looking for some chakra paper. He buys the chakra paper and reads the instructions.

Used to find out your chakra nature. Apply chakra to the paper and see what happens. If it burns, then you have a fire chakra nature. If it gets wet, then you have a water affinity. If it crumbles into a little ball, then you have a lightning affinity. If the paper becomes dry, then you have an earth affinity. If it cuts in half, then you have a wind affinity.

Naruto focuses chakra into his hand and then into the paper. The piece of paper cuts in half. 1 side ignites in small flames, and the other piece wrinkles.

"So, I have fire, lightning, and wind affinity. Let's see what chakra control exercises I'm gonna do first. I know my control sucks from what Ebisu told me, so this is gonna be important for my training."

Naruto looks through the notes and reads the instructions. "For fire, I need to be able to coat fire chakra around my hand and be able to touch hot surfaces without burning myself." Naruto says to himself, excited to start his training. Naruto creates a campfire so he can keep warm and make himself some dinner. But he's also going to use it to help with fire training.

Naruto first tries to create a campfire by picturing himself creating fire with his chakra. He successfully creates a few embers, and they start to ignite the campfire. Naruto then coats his hand with chakra and focuses it on his hand. He pictures his hand as complete fire and feels his hand get warmer. He decides to put his hand in the fire only to get burned.

"GAH- OWOWOWOWOW." Naruto shrieked, the pain obviously hurting like crazy. He keeps trying to learn the new trick with little success. He taught himself to hunt and made roasted food while on the run.

But after a week of hand torture, the blonde finally got the chakra control exercise down. "Haha, I did it!" Naruto exclaimed, happy to see he finally got the trick down.

Meanwhile in Konoha

"Kakashi sensei, what happened to Naruto?" Sakura asks, genuinely concerned about her missing teammate.

"Sakura, it seems he has committed treason against our village. A witness watching from her window said that Naruto killed the civilian after the Civilian tried to attack Naruto with a bottle of booze. I never thought Naruto would do this…"

"Did Naruto say anything at all to anyone before he left?" Sasuke asked.

"He left a note in his apartment." Kakashi explained, with regret in his voice. Kakashi then reads the note aloud.

Don't bother looking for me, I've had enough of people constantly disrespecting me, ridiculing me, and making fun of me. I trained so hard to be able to protect this village and represent us in the chunin exams. I'll go find a place where I'm appreciated.

Uzumaki Naruto

3 weeks later

Naruto went into another town known as the land of bears and realized he needed money. To make more money and faster, he decided to make 10 shadow clones to set up small food stands by hunting in the local area around the area. This was a pretty good moneymaker since Naruto is only 13. All Naruto had to do was use the henge to transform into a random civillian, so he didn't cause any suspicion. Over the course of these 3 weeks, Naruto had 628,574 Ryōsaved up.

While Naruto was making money in the land of bears, he was also practicing chakra control and nature manipulation. He made 30 shadow clones and had 10 for each of his elements. 10 clones were practicing the same fire release exercise, 10 were practicing cutting a leaf in half with wind release. The lightning release exercise, however, was giving Naruto a run for his money.

"Ah man this Lightning release exercise is tough." Naruto said, after making several leaves disintegrate. 'My chakra control has got to be abysmal.' Naruto thought to himself as he continued his nature training.
