After hearing that last bit of cringe words that spewed out of the player's voice, I judged the situation for myself. Do I set forth as a mobile npc? Meh, I could…
Why the hell not…I began walking off without further prompting from the player, and at the same time earning a surprise from the player.
"Aye yo, chat! He's moving on his own!"
Not bothering to turn back to look at the player's barbarian character, I strode forth around the ledge I stood from, and began making my way towards the Church of Elleh.
"Woah woah, is he going after the first boss?" The player questioned, before his character hopped down from the ledge and ran up to me.
Sensing that I should stop and turn the player's character, I greeted the barbarian character again with a nod, "Hail, Tarnished lord, do you perhaps need something of me?" I questioned, before an option prompt appeared for the player to select.
The player selected the option of 'What should I do about that wandering Tree Sentinel?'
"Yo chat, could this perhaps be our first chance to see the guy fight!?"
Nodding my head at the question given to me, I spoke back to the player character, "Ah, the wonder Tree Sentinel, are you perhaps asking me to help you fight that man? I can think of no other start of our glorious adventure together!" I answered the player in an extravagant tone.
Another prompt popped up, saying 'Yes, I would like you to help me."
"Yo yo yo! I'm starting to get hyped here, chat!"
Any more 'yo's', and perhaps you should get yourself a yo yo.
Clenching my fist and punching against my chest as my own salute to the player's character, I nodded, "Tis wonderful then! Let our cooperation together as servant and lord begin here and now!" I announce with raising enthusiasm.
"Dude, who's the voice actor for this guy! He sounds like Seigward!"
I suppose I do sound like him, but really, it's hard to tell one's own voice without hearing a voice recording of it or something.
Withdrawing my greatsword out from its hilt, I turned and raised it up to the air diagonally, "To battle! Hurrah!" I bellowed out, before gripping my sword with both hands and charged at the Tree Sentinel boss.
"Hey chat, should I sit and see if he can kill the boss on his own?!"
I suppose you could, it'd just probably make me look better!
It wasn't long before the boss battle music kicked in as the Tree Sentinel Boss spotted me, "For my Tarnish lord, I shall rend thee into ribbons of flesh!" I shouted my battle cry as the boss charged at me as well.
"This is fucking hype chat! I'm actually hoping he one shots the boss!"
Ignoring the fact that the player character had yet to be controlled to help me, The Tree Sentinel boss swung his halberd down at me; reacting with quick reflexes, I swung my sword over to the side to ultra parry the attack, it was one of the things I wished they brought over from Dark Souls two.
The dull thud ding of a successful parry echoed from my sword parrying aside the Tree Sentinel's halberd, the boss himself staggered back while I managed to follow up my parry with a straight forward thrust of my greatsword into the horse's knees.
"Holy shit chat! He fucking ultra parried the attack! Fucking W guys!"
The boss's horse neighed in pain as it bucked up, while the Tree Sentinel himself held onto the reigns of his horse to calm it down; lowering my greatsword down from the thrust attack, I swung it upwards to cleave at the shins of the Tree Sentinel soldier, get a grunt of pain from the guy. "For the honor I represent to my tarnish lord, Get off thy horse and face me like a man!" I bellowed in bravado as I swung my greatsword at the horse's hind leg.
"Wait, can that actually happen!?"
The Tree Sentinel boss seemingly took my words as an insult, and challenge as the horse toppled over from the pain and gushing wound on its legs; the boss kicked off from his horse as it fell and landed with a soft thud of his feet meeting the ground.
"Yo! Chat, this has got to be some special thing the dude can do! The Tree Sentinel guys never leave their mounts!"
The Boss and I continued to ignore the player's character, as the boss himself stepped forward and swung his halberd at me with his disabled horse lying on the ground behind him, "You shall regret those words!" The boss yelled in anger.
"Dude! I'm freaking pogging out here! Voice lines for the normal boss!?"
Really wish you'd stop saying that cringe word, but we can't have everything we want in the world I suppose.
I blocked the attack with my Greatsword, "I shall regret nothing, not even my death to my lord!" I retorted back as I pushed back against the halberd that was pushing against my own weapon.
The Tree Sentinel soldier staggered a bit from me pushing his halberd back, giving me an opportunity to slice at the arm that was holding the weapon, "You are nothing more than an aging fossil of the old order! I shall use my own body if I have to as a stepping stone for my lord!" I shouted with an enthusiastic voice.
The Tree Sentinel soldier grunted in pain from me slicing at his arm, and growled back in anger as he lifted his weapon up with both hands, "I shall have your head on a pike, none shall speak ill of the order as such!" he bellowed back in anger.
"Chat! What the fuck is even this game!"
I met the attack with another ultraparry with my greatsword, "The new shall replace the old, time has taught us this much! Begone to the Erdtree and never return!" I yelled back as I thrusted my greatsword up into the throat of the boss, making him gurgle blood from the new hole in his throat.
I pulled my sword out from the boss soldier's neck and swung it aside to fling the wet blood off from my blade; I watched as the Tree Sentinel boss staggered back and fell to the ground; both his and his horse's body disappeared with a loud boom, signifying that the boss had been defeated for the player.
"Yo! That was so fucking hype chat!"
Sheathing my sword into its sheath, I turned and saw that the player's character was already being controlled to run up to me and talk.
I nodded to the player's barbarian character and spoke once the prompt was given, "Hail, my lord. Twas a grand spectacle of my battle, was it not? I can only hope next time you join in! It would be truly an honor to fight alongside you, then for you to put your trust in me!" I encouraged the player to not simply sit back and allow me to do all the work, I actually wanted to see him fight as well and see what build he had in mind.
"Holy shit chat, he's programmed to know whether the player's character joins in or not! Dude, dude, dude, I am definitely seeing if he and I can face Morgott and beat him on the first try!"
I'm not sure myself, but I hope so. Plus, I am not sure if my own death is permanent or not…then again, I can see the graces, so I suppose I can return from any death of mine. With the prompt gone, I took my leave for the Church of Elleh, already seeing the player's own character running off ahead.
"Okay, chat, I think for this run, I want to get all my flasks ready, and boost myself a bit with the greyroll dragon. I'm actually curious what other bosses he might have a unique dialog for, along with the boss…that was just so fucking hype AF!"
And that at least gives me time to figure out if I can steal a horse from a Kaiden Sellsword, it was better than walking the entire land of the Lands Between.
