Hello everyone and welcome back! Hopefully I didn't procrastinate too long on this one! Like I said previously however this is the last stretch of this story and this chapter and the rest of it will be about befriending The Dazzlings, excluding the final two or three chapters which of course have something to two with Happy Chaos, The Child of the Stars and the mysterious: "Good Dr." the two are both working for/with as well as what they are truly here for in Equestria! But until then enjoy these cute chapters of characters trying to befriend each other!
Only thirty minutes after their meeting at Sugarcube Corner…
Sunset, Sci-Twi and the others had all just taken Sonata to that taco place she had spoken of earlier and are currently sitting outside. And already they can notice how happy she's becoming. They even got one for Messmer.
"Do you like them?" Asks Sonata hoping for a positive response from the normally dower Messmer.
"Hmmmm… It has a very peculiar taste to it I must say. But overall they are quite decent if much less accessible then simple Spider-Scorpion Stew is in the Realm of Shadow" States Messmer judging the food.
"Yay! I'm so glad you like them!" Shouts Sonata.
"Wait what did he say?" Asks Applejack wanting to make sure she heard what Messmer said correctly.
"I don't even wanna picture what he said" Says Rainbow the mere thought of Spider-Scorpion Stew not being a pleasant one.
"I agree on that dear" Says Rarity who'd probably faint if she saw it.
"So where do ya wanna go next?" Asks Pinkie.
As they all think about where to go next Bedman simply stands by and just watches. He wonders how exactly Messmer can put up with these people so easily and not be irritated by their antics that they are always up to. Especially with Aria and Adagio who out of everyone in this world he hates the most even more so he wonders how Sonata has put up with them for thousands of years without pause perhaps they're sisters like Sunset assumes but unless genes don't work the same way they do in his world then that just isn't possible. Her level of patience must be incredibly high. Now that he thinks about it, how exactly has being in this world affected them personality wise? Twilight and them have admitted to knowing very little about the trio other than their villainous escapades even in Twilights own world it appears little has been written down about them and their pasts, perhaps this friendship will be a worthwhile investigation into the trio, he'll simply interview them in their dreams when they sleep starting with Adagio the eldest as she most likely knows the most the only issue will be getting her to talk and not just about herself for the entire investigation.
Bedman then feels a poke to his human body forcing his gigantic bullet he calls a thought process to come to a instant halt and pause, it's Sonata handing him a taco for some odd reason no one knows he uses the bed to transfer nutrients to his sleeping body he's sure of that so why is she handing him food when she knows he probably can't eat it?
"Would you like one? You seem to be thinking really hard about something so I thought you might like a taco!" Asks Sonata handing him a taco.
Bedman deciding to not question her leaps in logic at how he'll be able to eat this at the moment takes the taco in the bedframe's hand and moves it towards the machine's head which opens and reveals its massive mouth full of teeth which swallows the taco whole instantly.
"Ok Bedman that was just freaky…" States Sunset.
"Eep!" Softly yelps Fluttershy having never seen him do that before.
"I have so many questions!" Shouts Sci-Twi who now has who knows how many more questions about the bedframe thanks to this one action.
Messmer and his serpents however seem unsurprised as they've seen weirder things in their lives.
"Oh wow I didn't expect that!" Loudly says Sonata jumping once from shock.
"Thou contain more surprises than I thought…" States Messmer.
"If anyone is full of surprises it is certainly Bedman! And Pinkie too of course!" Says Rainbow.
"Did I hear surprises?! Oh yippee! One of my favorite words! Me and Beddy should totally have a surprise–off right girls? Oh that would be so cool right Beddy?" Rambles Pinkie as Sonata giggles at her antics.
Bedman teleports away from Pinkie but she quickly catches up to him trying to convince him through sheer force of her (admittedly very adorable) will to agree to her new little game, tragically however Bedman has a much less cute but just as determined will to get her to give up so he begins teleporting randomly around the nearby area only to teleport again the moment Pinkie tries to get to him which are surprisingly short intervals. He wonders how in the hell a girl like Pinkie who eats sweets all the time is able to even exert this much energy and speed with having cardiac arrest from her overconsumption of sugars, now that he thinks about it how does she not have diabetes or a similar ailment from all the things she's eaten up till now? Her metabolism must be insane if his rapid calculations are correct, which he thinks is most likely…
"She is… certainly something else huh Messmer?" Asks Sonata eating (yet another) taco as she turns to face him.
"Indeed her combative abilities are lacking in all regards but her sheer enthusiasm and determination to do what she pleases makes up for it" Responds Messmer.
"That's Pinkie Pie for ya! Once she gets started nothin' can stop her! Trust us-we've tried to, it uhh never works even after all these years" Says Applejack.
"Come on Beddy please? Just this once? I promise it'll be fun!" Begs Pinkie giving cute puppy dog eyes.
"Uhm Bedman? Maybe you could uhm do this just for Pinkie just this once?" Kindly asks Fluttershy looking up at Bedman.
Bedman looks down at Fluttershy then Pinkie before mentally signing, showing his caving in for her sake not his by having the bedframe and his body slump over for a second or two.
"Thanks! I promise it'll be really fun! Oh I can't wait to get prepared! I have so many party tricks I've practiced that I have to show off to all of you!" Cheers and giggle Pinkie hopping up and down in place.
Sonata chuckles a little, making Pinkie even happier that she could make her new friend smile and laugh already, surprisingly enough even Messmer and his winged serpents chuckle at the sight before them.
"Hehehe! Oh that was so much fun to watch!" Giggles Sonata.
"Ah I must agree thou'art a strange one but thines joy is unparalleled!" Heartily chuckles Messmer having clearly not laughed this hard in years.
"Awwwww!~ Thanks so much you two!" Giggles and smiles Pinkie.
The group stand up and begin walking around the nearby park chatting and simply talking having a good time.
"I'm sorry dear but that outfit simply will not do! It's scorched and simply ruined beyond repair!" Exclaims Rarity looking at the burned remains of Messmer's attire.
"I can assure thee mine attire is quite alright, scorched as it may be it still serves thine purpose" Responds Messmer staring down at her with his winged serpents.
"An outfit should make you look good dear! Not make you look like you just survived a fire" Retorts Rarity who desperately needs to either fix up or replace Messmer's outfit.
"Before removing the seal within my eye my armor was both glorious and appealing as it was made by the finest seamstress my mother could find… Sigh oh mother…" Explains Messmer in response, sighing at the memory of his once loving mother.
Sonata, able to clearly tell his mother is a sore spot for him, gently hugs him, making him feel slightly better.
"Oh I'm sorry dear I didn't mean too—" Apologies Rarity not meaning to bring up a negative part of his past.
"No it is quite alright it is no fault of thee…" Responds Messmer not wanting her to apologize for something she didn't even mean to remind him off.
"Hey there sugarcube if ya ever feel comfortable tellin' us 'bout your past just let us know, we'll listen to ya!" Assures Applejack patting him on the back.
"Yeah! We'll be there for you Messmer!" Cheers Sci-Twi.
Messmer smiles once again glad to have befriended this group, but their kindness makes him wonder: 'Why are Adagio and Aria so against them even after all these years?' Their hatred has been left to fester and rot and boil and fester and rot over and over again like how he lamented his abandonment by his mother within Shadow Keep for years. Is their spite for their loss of their once powerful sorceries truly that great they will deny themselves any and all joy? More importantly that brings up the question again of how did Sonata manage to keep her spirits up despite their spite and festering hatred? Her soul is truly joyous and happy unlike theirs, were they once like that too? All these questions make him not realize that Aria and Adagio are right in front of him until he hears Adagio's voice stopping the fiery tragic chariot he calls his thought process…
"Well, well, well look what we have here!" Slowly says Adagio looking at Sonata and Messmer with the very group she couldn't hate more if she tried (and trust me she does try).
"Aria? Adagio? What are you two doing here? I thought you were both still at home!" Says Sonata shocked.
"We were but you haven't been home so we came looking for you, just to see you here with ugh them" Says Aria disgusted by the mere sight of The Rainbooms.
"Hey now let's not be hostile here—" Attempts to say Sci-Twi in her effort to try and prevent another fight from breaking out.
"Oh us? Hostile? We'd never be hostile! Not in a way we can't get away with at least, we just came looking for Sonata it is getting late you know can't have her wandering the streets at night!" Responds Aria who claims to not be hostile but her posture and expression show she's second away from cursing up a storm and throwing hands with the nearest person she hates.
Everyone can tell they aren't actually here for Sonata at least not in a way they'll admit, they're just here to start shit.
"Uhuh sure you are…" Snarks Applejack raising an eyebrow at the two.
"So Sonata we not cool enough for you to hang out with anymore or something?" Rhetorically asks Aria, clearly attempting to make her feel horrible for hanging out with them in the world's most obvious attempts at gaslighting someone.
"Hey at least we don't treat her like shit for no reason…" Mumbles Rainbow crossing her arms in near bursting anger.
"She's allowed to hang out with anyone she wants to, you know! You're both not her mom and dad!" Responds Pinkie bouncing in one spot as she points at them for whatever reason.
"We know that you ditz we're not even related in the first place! We're just asking her a question she knows the answer too!" Says Adagio smirking.
Messmer, already not having this, slowly walks towards the two sirens, opening his free hand and igniting a rapidly growing flame in it; he stands in front of the two towering over them his winged serpents hissing loudly clearly not happy with their behavior. Bedman, also not having this today teleports right next to Messmer rapidly spinning the saw blade wheels of the bed frame as a warning that while Messmer won't kill them he won't hesitate to should they give him a good reason to.
"Thou'art interested in causing problems for Sonata? Then thine shall get what thou wisheth, from me, Messmer, The Impaler and guardian of Sonata!" Shouts Messmer, making the two sirens shake a little.
Bedman just smiles; he knows this will shut them up and prevent them from being much of a bother for some time. That is until he and Messmer feel a touch, that touch being from Sonata who from her suddenly very serious expression alone has clearly made up her mind on how to respond and the two understanding this stop their threats and back off letting the youngest and sweetest siren say her piece…
"I don't want to say this to you both girls but… Their right you both have been treating me horribly for years and now when I try to better myself and be happy you want to make me pick between you both and them? How is this fair to me? I've given all I could to try and make you two's lives happier but you always mocked and denied me, so I'm going to give my happiness to people who can enjoy and appreciate it! I won't let you two mock them or try and gaslight me into making me rely on only you two again! I'm not letting you two get away with this anymore! I don't know how it got to this point but you two have only gotten worse over the years and I won't stand it any longer! Even if it means I have to leave you both to live a happy new life!" Rants Sonata letting out all her bottled up feelings about what's become of her two fellow sirens after all this time of holding it in and hoping they get better and less hateful someday. She takes a deep breathe as Aria and Adagio stand there shocked by what Sonata just monologued at them.
After finally processing what they just heard as it echoes in their heads Adagio and Aria slowly walk away clearly not taking their normally very bubbly and cheerful fellow sirens words well as heard by their panic mumblings and even more panicked posture and running:
"SHIT! Shit—-shit-shit—shit–shi—-shitshitshitshitshitshit!" Mumbles Aria violently biting her nails, especially the one on her right thumb as she hurriedly scuttles away.
"What did we do? What did we do?! We took it too far now she's going to leave us and hate us!" Repeats Adagio twitching a little as she too hurries away from the scene.
After the other two sirens scamper away, Sonata just falls to her knees and cries softly in her hands as Sci-Twi, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Sunset, Messmer, and even Bedman try to comfort her and calm her down.
"Hey hey now it'll be alright sugarcube!" Hurriedly says Applejack gently patting her on the back.
"Oh no! Don't cry! I have candy-muffins-donuts-chocolate ok I get it now's not the time for that! Just don't cry, ok?" Says Pinkie in front of her pulling out sweet after sweet in hopes one will get Sonata's attention but all fail miserably.
"You can let it all out if you want! We're all here for you…" Gently says Fluttershy holding onto her right side.
"Sniff I don't get it! Why can't they just let me be happy?! They've been like this for years since we got sent here and-and sniff no matter what I try and do they never get any better! Why can't they just be happy!? Did I do something wrong?!" Cries Sonata feeling horrible as the day goes from amazing to horrible in seconds.
"Don't blame yourself! You didn't make them act this way they chose to, it's not your fault!" Responds Sunset rubbing her back.
"Yeah! You didn't do anything wrong! Just take a deep breath and settle down. It'll be alright!" Calmly says Sci-Twi doing her best to get Sonata to feel better but doesn't know exactly what to do.
"It'll be alright dear! None of this is your fault as Sci-Twi and Sunset said, they choose to cause problems dear not you!" Softly agrees Rarity at her left side holding her hand gently.
"Oh crap! This isn't good! Hey now it'll be alright! I know it was hard but you said what needed to be said and stood up for yourself! Don't cry, you didn't start any of this!" Assures Rainbow Dash who panicked a little bit before focusing on Sonata and nothing else at the moment.
"There there Sonata it will be alright, you cannot change them with one speech nor can anyone but you can help them see their wrongs and it is clear to me that they will see their wrongs after this…" Soothingly says Messmer kneeling down to be eye level with her as his winged serpents wrapped around her.
Bedman while still comforting Sonata thinks to himself as he always does; perhaps these recent events will make it easier to figure out their pasts and how being forced to leave their homeworld and live in this one has changed them for the absolute worse. He'll get his desired results soon enough either way, if not for his own curiosities so that this poor heart broken siren can see the two old friends be themselves again like she's always hoped… But first he needs to make sure this poor girl will be alright for the time being…
And that's all folks! The next chapter will be Bedman interrogating Adagio within the Nightmare Theater and Bedman's dream world which will most likely be an even shorter chapter than this one but until then I hope this chapter was well worth the wait!
