Breaking Through the Barrier

As the moonlight bathed the palace in a silvery glow, Princess Serena and her allied forces stood before the formidable barrier. The barrier shimmered menacingly, a magical wall erected by Lady Beryl to keep Serena and her guardians from thwarting her sinister plans.

Serena raised her sword high. "We will not be stopped," she declared, her voice ringing clear and resolute.

With a nod from Serena, the guardians began their assault. Mars summoned flames that licked at the edges of the barrier, while Mercury's streams of icy water crackled against it. Jupiter struck with bolts of lightning, and Venus's chains of love energy wrapped around the barrier, seeking a weak point.

The barrier shuddered under the relentless attack, cracks beginning to spiderweb across its surface. With a final, united push, the barrier shattered into a million glittering shards, dissipating into the night. The path to the palace now lay open before them.

"Forward!" Serena commanded, and the allied forces surged ahead, their spirits buoyed by their victory. They moved swiftly and silently through the dimly lit corridors, their footsteps echoing against the marble floors. The palace, once a place of beauty and serenity, now felt cold and foreboding, its halls shadowed by the dark presence of Lady Beryl.

As they approached the grand doors of the chapel, they could hear the solemn intonations of the Solarian priest. "Do you, Lady Beryl, take Prince Darien to be your lawfully wedded husband?" the priest's voice echoed through the vast chamber.

Serena's heart pounded in her chest. They were so close. With a fierce determination, she pushed open the chapel doors, her guardians flanking her as they burst into the room.

The scene before them was one of stark contrast. Lady Beryl, resplendent in a light, flowing gown, stood beside Prince Darien, who seemed dazed and under some spell. The Solarian priest, dressed in his ceremonial robes, looked up in shock at the sudden intrusion.

"I object to this unholy union!" Serena's voice rang out, filled with authority. "Beryl, your reign of darkness ends here."

Lady Beryl turned to face Serena, her eyes narrowing with malice. "You dare interrupt my wedding?" she hissed, her voice dripping with venom.

Serena stepped forward, her sword at the ready. "Darien does not belong to you. Release him and surrender or face the consequences."

A sinister smile curled on Lady Beryl's lips. "Very well, Princess Serena. If it's a fight you want, then a fight you shall have." With a flick of her wrist, she summoned dark energy that crackled and swirled around her.

The guardians moved into position, ready to defend Serena and thwart Lady Beryl's dark magic. The battle that ensued was fierce and intense, with spells and energy blasts lighting up the chapel like a storm. Serena and her guardians fought with all their might.

As the clash of forces reached its peak, Serena saw an opening. With a swift and decisive strike, she broke through Lady Beryl's defenses, severing the dark connection that held Prince Darien under her spell. Lady Beryl let out a cry of rage and pain when suddenly a dark portal opened behind her and Pharoah 90 grabbed Beryl by the waist and dragged her through the portal.

Darien stared as his bride disappeared through the portal, eyes narrowing as his hand went around his hip and went for his sword. His eyes met Serena's, as she called out his name, "Darien!" the prince raised his sword and went on the attack. Serena blocked his attack with her sword "Darien stop!" she screamed as she pushed his away from her. "Your highness!" screamed Mars. "No!" said the voice of Pluto blocking the other from interfering, "Pluto! What are you doing?" asked Venus.

"This Is not your fight, it's hers you must let her deal with this" Pluto turned her head and looked on as Serena and Darien crossed swords. Serena tried to talk some sense into the prince, but it seems that Beryl's dark spell still held strong. "I will not let you destroy me or my kingdom," said the prince. "That's not you Darien that's Beryl talking, you need to break free!"

"I am free" he said trying to sweep her legs from under her, but Serena jumped just to avoid his attack. Their swords clashed once again, and a strike of lightning broke through the glass ceiling allowing the glass to fall on both. But before the glass landed the prince and princess broke apart and dodged the falling shards. From across the room both prince and princess stared at one another before a dark portal opened behind the prince and he disappeared through it.

"No!" cried Serena as the other solders broke through the doors. "Your highness it's done one of her lieutenants informed her, but she wasn't paying attention she still stared at the spot where Darien had disappeared. "Your Highness" said Venus as Serena's eyes began to tear up. "We'll find him" said Venus, "I know" said the princess as silver streaks ran down her cheeks.

Meanwhile in the Frozen Tundra…

Beryl's frustrated screams were heard all throughout the cavern, she took a relic from the pedestal and threw it against the wall, her hair all matted to her forehead and in disarray. She ripped the veil from her head and threw it to the side. "You failed me!" She screamed to the hourglass in the middle of the room "What good is having a deity give you all this power when all she does is screw it up" she screamed again. Just as her tantrum was about to reach a new level Metaria interrupted by sending a shockwave that knocked Beryl backwards her head hitting the dirty stone floor. "You dare question me!" Screamed Metaria shaking the cavern walls. Beryl lifted herself into a sitting position on the hard stone floor giving the hourglass a dirty look wisely choosing to stay quiet.

"Worry not my child" said Metaria "What I have given you is just a glimpse of my power but now is the time to show you what real power is" said Beryl in a condescending tone before light from the hourglass got brighter and brighter shaking beryl to her core. Darien stood on an alcove waiting, lost in thought. The woman with the dark hair and silver eyes he knew she was his enemy but for some reason he couldn't find the answer as to why she was his enemy. Everything he knew he was starting to question the girl and the lady Beryl.

The air in the cavern grew heavy as Metaria's light intensified. Beryl felt an overwhelming surge of power coursing through her veins, filling her with a newfound strength that she had never before experienced. The hourglass glowed with an otherworldly luminance, and Beryl's eyes widened in awe and terror.

Metaria's voice echoed throughout the cavern, commanding and absolute. "You will now wield the ultimate power, Beryl. Use it wisely—or face the consequences."

Beryl stood, feeling the raw energy pulsing within her. With a wave of her hand, the cavern's icy walls shattered, revealing a hidden path. She stepped forward, her confidence restored and her resolve steeled.

Darien, still lost in thought, felt a sudden shift in the air. He looked up, sensing the immense power emanating from the cavern. The woman with the dark hair and silver eyes haunted his mind, but he knew he had to face whatever lay ahead.

As Beryl emerged from the cavern, her aura crackling with the power bestowed upon her, she knew that the battle was far from over. With Metaria's ultimate power at her disposal, she would stop at nothing to reclaim her honor and defeat her enemies.

The stage was set for an epic confrontation, and the fate of kingdoms hung in the balance. Beryl's eyes burned with determination as she prepared to unleash her newfound power upon the world.

Solarian Palace…

Meanwhile, in the Solarian palace, Princess Serena's frustrations grew as she couldn't find a way to locate the prince and Beryl. She paced the grand hall, her thoughts a whirlwind of despair and determination. Just as the weight of her emotions threatened to overwhelm her, Pluto appeared at her side.

With her serene presence, Pluto brought a sense of calm to the troubled princess. "Serena," she said softly, "there is someone who wishes to speak with you."

Serena turned to Pluto, hope flickering in her eyes. "Who is it?" she asked, desperate for any news that could lead her to Darien.

Pluto's enigmatic smile gave nothing away. "Come with me," she urged, guiding Serena through the labyrinthine corridors of the palace.

As they walked, Serena's mind raced with possibilities. Suddenly Pluto stopped right in her tracks and turned to face the princess. "Why are we stopping?" Asked the princess the look in Plutos eyes were calm and reassuring "Let's just say your prayers have been answered" and she turned to allow the princess to view what was right in-front of them. "Why is the door of time here" asked the confused princess "Did you summon it here"

"Not me, your highness" said Pluto indicating that the princess should go through the doors. Serena looked at Pluto skeptically and preceded forward and place her hand on the door handle. She looked back on last time and asked "What of the other guardians"

"You have enough to worry about Princess" responded Pluto as she walked away and disappeared. Serena took a deep breath turned the knob and stepped through only to find herself back in the ruins of the old kingdom throne room. "What am I doing here?" She asked to no one in particular, her frustration grew as there seemed to be no one there, she placed her hands over her face ready to break down despair when she heard it a female voice calling her name.

The female voice echoed through the ruins, soft yet commanding. "Serena," it called. She lifted her head, her heart pounding in her chest. "Who is it?" Serena exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mix of hope and fear.

"Fear not, my darling daughter" the voice replied, growing closer. From the shadows emerged a figure cloaked in ethereal light, the presence of Serena's mother came into view.

The Solarian Palace…

Back in the Solarian palace, Pluto gathered the other guardians in the grand hall. Their faces were marked by concern and curiosity. "Pluto, what has happened?" Mars asked, her fiery spirit barely contained.

Pluto's calm demeanor held the group together as she began to speak. "Princess Serena has been summoned by the gods themselves," she explained, her voice steady and resolute. The guardians exchanged glances, the gravity of Pluto's words sinking in.

"But why?" questioned Mercury, her analytical mind racing to comprehend the situation.

Pluto's eyes shimmered with ancient wisdom. "The gods have deemed her worthy to receive their guidance and aid in the impending battle. We must trust in Serena's strength and the divine will."

The guardians nodded in unison, their resolve fortified by Pluto's assurance. They knew that Serena's journey was pivotal, and their support for her unwavering.

"We must prepare," Pluto added, her voice echoing through the hall. "The fate of our kingdom depends on her success."

As the guardians set forth with renewed determination, the bond between them strengthened, their faith in Serena and the gods guiding their every step.

Ruins of the Old Kingdom…

"Mother!" Exclaimed Serena with joy as she ran into her mothers outstretched arms, enveloping her in a crushing hug. "How are you here? How are you still alive?" Asked the princess with sheer happiness.

"I'm not my little Star," said the Queen

"What?" Said the princess confused by her mother's statement. "But you are, you're here and I can feel you" she cried in earnest.

"I'm only here to help you through the ascension, it's time Serena for you to take the mantle of Queen and look after this world like all other Queens before you"

"What do you mean?" Asked Serena "Look after the world"

"Yes, the gods created everything with a balance in mind without the sun the moon can not exist just as the sun can not exist without the moon. You need to save the prince from Metaria's control and you can't do that until you receive our powers and the crystal will not be revealed to you until you are Queen"

"Couldn't you have stopped this that night?" Asked the princess, terror in her eyes.

"This is your story my little star, not mine. Now come it's time for you to take your place in this world." Said the former Queen with her hand outstretched. Serena took her mother's hand and allowed her to lead her into the gardens.
