TW: SA, Guns, Violence

Emily was a rather light sleeper, the profession she chose was mostly responsible for that. So when she heard Alison getting out of bed she sat up slowly. "Ali, what's wrong?" The sun was up so it was early but not that early. Before she had a chance to respond she found herself bringing up everything she had eaten the day prior. Emily sprung out of bed and headed to Alison's side. Pulling her hair back and rubbing her back "Baby are you okay—talk to me. Tell me what you're feeling." Alison quickly explained to her what she was feeling. "Okay, give me just a second. I'll be right back."

Moments later she came back with a glass of water and a pregnancy test. "I know it sounds strange but I just want to make sure I'm covering all my bases to take care of you. Okay?" Alison was terrified at the thought of being pregnant, how was that even possible. Well she did know how it was possible but she hadn't been with a man for over a month. Not able to really speak the blonde nodded as Emily got up to leave the room. Shutting the door behind her she began to chew on her lip. For what was probably just minutes that past felt like hours.

"Em…" Alison said softly, wanting the other woman to be in the room when the result finally came up. "This is going to change everything—-isn't it?" Emily sighed trying to keep as calm as possible, she had to stay whole for her. "Listen to me when I say this, maybe this wasn't the order we planned things but it sure as hell isn't going to change the end goal. I want to be with you, I want to be your protector, your confidant, whatever you need on any given day. Nothing could change that, even if our first child comes before we get married." Emily tried to make light of it all and truth be told it did help Alison relax a little. "Let's look together. 3. 2. 1."

Flipping over the test Alison placed her opposite hand on top of Emily's. With the words "Not pregnant." appearing on the tiny digital screen a sigh of relief left both of their lips. Things had never seemed to move at a snail pace for them, so why would they assume this would be any different. Truth be told Emily still needed to figure out a few too many things about herself before even considering children but Alison didn't need to know that, not right now. Throwing the test into the trash beside the sink Alison quickly brushed her teeth.

"You know I know the whole stereotype for a quote un quote lesbian relationship moves quickly but I'm pretty sure that would have counted as a record breaker." They laughed, in somewhat relief of course but also maybe just a tinge of disappointment. "You know they're throwing me a "glad you can get the hell out of here" party Friday. You wouldn't happen to want to be my plus one would you?" Emily knew she would say yes but somehow she was still nervous asking.

"Emily Fields, we just got a negative pregnancy test result and now you're asking me to go to a party that I am sure won't be lacking alcohol?" With a cocked eyebrow she shook her head as she wrapped her arms around Emily's neck. "Yes dork of course I'll go with you. Besides I need to show the rest of your friends who the real winner is. The one who gets to love you…" kissing Emily slowly she pulled back ever so slowly. "Don't miss me too much at work okay? I'll still be here when you come back."

-FLASH FORWARD TO FRIDAY NIGHT AT A LOCAL BAR-

The music of the deejay roared through the speakers as they danced the night away. Emily never seemed to not have a drink in her hand, but it didn't bother Alison. At least she didn't think it should have. Dancing against Emily she made sure to make every move with purpose. Emily kept a hand on the woman's hip smirking as she took another sip of her drink. A good friend of Emily's asked if she could join them "Go for it, take care of her for a minute." Emily gave her kiss before heading off back to the bar. Knowing she had nothing to worry about with the friend she had left Alison with she ordered the three of them drinks.

That was until she heard Alison scream. It was unfortunately a sound she had heard one too many times, a sound that would forever be seared into her memory. "Alison" Emily shouted leaving the drinks behind to look for her. The bar dance floor was jam packed, the anxiety Emily was already feeling seemed to speed up ten fold. Finally finding her she wrapped her arms around Alison "Baby what happened?" Alison didn't look up almost like she was embarrassed. "He—he touched me. The one in the blue collared shirt. I told him to stop and—" Kissing the top of her head she tried to calm her down "Give me a second, Diaz keep her safe again for me? For real this time"

Of course she was given a confident nod as rage filled her veins. "Fucking Hunter I told you not to touch her" pushing the tall dark haired male he laughed almost like he was caught off guard "What nobody else is allowed to touch Fields? You're such a fucking alcoholic you don't deserve her" That was the last straw. Seconds later Emily pulled her arm back and punched him right in the face. When he was on the floor she repeated the process "You never fucking listen and you'll never learn will you?"

Emily felt two pairs of hands pulling her off of the male still on the floor. Blood dripping from his nose and a slight cut above his eyebrow. "I'm gonna kill him." She muttered before seeing Alison in tears. Suddenly the rest of the world didn't exist. Wrapping her arms around Alison she guided her back to their jeep. "What did he do to you—are you okay? Do you need me to take you to the police?"

Alison just wanted to cry "He put his hand up my dress. As soon as I felt his hand I screamed…Thank you for saving me" Placing a hand on the back of the blondes head she sighed softly "I'm going to his superior tomorrow. He can't keep getting away with this shit." Alison didn't say anything, she just wanted comfort and safety. "Can we go home please…"

Later that night after Emily had been touch with some of her own superiors. Grabbing one of her hand guns from her safe, she began cleaning it as Alison showered. Wanting to give her some space Emily's mind continued to fill with thoughts of how to hurt this kid. "Em why do you have that our—" Alison seemed taken aback. "You aren't going to hurt him are you?"

There was a slight shake in her voice. Setting the weapon down as she finished reassembling the firearm she sighed. "No, I'm not going to hurt him. I am however going to take it upon myself to teach you how to use one of these. How to protect yourself…" Even if things were in fact going in the direction they should have for her exit from the Army she wanted to protect Alison even if she wasn't physically in the room.
