Chapter 1: Spidey's First Day
One fanfic idea I've been wanting to do for a while is Monster High and X-Men but while I do have a few ideas I wouldn't mind hearing some to help with the idea for a future fic.
A spider web is focused on as the spider crawls down from its web and then we zoom out to see Book End. Spider-Man who is still in his wrestling costume is flipping off of buildings.
"Tell me there's something better." Spider-Man shoots a web and uses it to sling forward. "Yee-Haw!" he lands on a building and parkour's over it. "Go ahead try. How I spent my Summer vacation can be summed up in one hyphenated word: Spider-Man. I am the Spelltacular Spider-Man." The young wall crawler lands on a tower. "Only one night before school starts and I could really use some action."
Peter's wish was fulfilled when the alarm from a stolen store started ringing.
Spider-Man does a flip to leave and web swing which is not easy with small buildings.
The building that just got robbed is by two large men, one is wearing a certain green shirt and the other a grey hoodie.
"What I tell you, one getaway jump from the nearest building and we're a million shillings richer." Said Flint.
"This ain't no million shilling haul, not after the Kingpin takes his cut anyway." Said Alexi.
"Oh shut up" said Flint.
Alexi jumps but is dragged away by a web.
Flint looks to see Spider-Man webbed up Alexi.
"Oh no, not again."
"Yep again." Said Spider-Man who chuckles. "What is this Marko, like the third time this summer?"
"Just wait till I get my hands on ya, ya skinny little creep." Said Alexi.
Spider-Man flips to Flint and then Flips over him. "So Marko, I got to ask if you can do me a solid." Flint horizontally swings his bag of loot at the web-head who doges it. "I kind of have prior engagements for a while so can you do me a favor and only commit crimes during the weekend?" Spidey fires a web at the loot causing it to hit Flint and uses his webs to tie up his arms and legs.
The morning after that Peter wakes up and looks at a mirror to see his new muscular physic. 'If there's one good thing that came from the spider bite its that I know have actual muscles, granted if I want to have a secret identity I can't hexatcly go around showing them off.'
When Peter, still wearing his glasses, is walking down he hides overhearing his aunt in a conversation with her friend Anna Watson.
"It isn't getting any better Anna, we're almost out of money."
"But May I'm sure Ben le…"
"Ben Parker was many many wonderful things, but a financial wizard he was not." May sadly sighs. "I miss him so. Oh, but listen to me go on we'll manage, and please not a word of this to Peter I wouldn't want him to be concerned."
Unfortunately for her Peter is listening and is concerned so he walks in the room. "Hey Aunt May, how goes the most beautiful girl in Book End this morning?"
"Ooh Peter, now hurry up, you don't want to be late on your first day."
"No mam." Peter walks off to head to school.
'Good old Ever After High, the high school for the children of fairy tale characters, or in my case a nobody Charming family on my mother's side. Maybe the Parker's are desperate for money but I'm not letting that spoil my school experience.' Thought Peter.
"Hey Parker." Said a muscular teen in a white and blue outfit similar to want a jock would wear.
"Hey Flash." Said an annoyed Peter. "Since it's the first day and Legacy Day is coming up maybe we could skip the pleasantries."
"Not happening Parker, new year means you need to get introduced to your new locker." Flash grabs Peter and shoves him into the locker.
'Why did I expect anything less from Flash, he's been bullying me since I could remember.'
Luckily so Peter doesn't have to use his spider strength to break free he is let out by a boy wearing a green shirt, brown jacket and brown hair.
'Hunter Huntsman, by best and only friend. He's the son of the Huntsman from Snow White and Red Riding Hood, his dad Sergei Huntsman is kind of a jerk but I wouldn't tell him that.' Thought Peter.
"Hey Hunt." Said Peter getting out of the locker.
"Hey Pete, I'm sorry about Ben, he was the best." Said Hunter.
"Yeah, I know." Said Peter as the two get ready for class. 'One thing I'm happy about is the fact that I don't have a destiny means I can sit out Legacy Day. You see students of certain fairy tales are expected to relieve their parents stories, like Hunter will be the Huntsman, but I know he hates the idea of being a hunter. Destiny also kind of determines your status at Ever After High, future villains or side characters are outcasts because everyone believes their evil like their parents, while those with happily ever afters at the end of their story are the most popular and the two most popular students are Apple White and Daring Charming.' Peter and Hunter are interrupted by a flash of light. 'Speak of the devils.'
Apple is walking with her arm wrapped around Daring who is smiling which somehow blinds people with the light from his teeth.
'How does he do that.' They both thought.
Luckily they don't have to talk to either of them since Blondie Lockes is interviewing them.
"Okay how are Apple and Daring still not a couple?" asked Hunter.
"Yeah, they are the most popular kids in school and their destined to be together anyway, I'm surprised the wedding bells aren't already chiming." Said Peter. "What about you? Did you find yourself a girlfriend?"
"Well I think your not one to talk about relationships when last year you tried to ask out Duchess last year." Said Hunter who is trying to change the conversation since he can't tell anyone about his relationship with Ashlynn.
"Don't remind me."
Flashback…
"Why in the world would I go out with Ever After High's champion geek?" asked Duchess rhetorically.
Flash and Sparrow Hood walk in.
"Hey Hood, Puny Paker's walking in on your girl." Said Flash.
"Hey, Sparrow, I didn't…" Peter is cut off by Sparrow grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
"Hey leave him alone." Said Hunter who ran in to help Peter.
"Or what hippie Huntsman, your going to throw vegetables at us?" mocked Sparrow.
Long story short Hunter tired to run in leading to him and Peter getting beat up.
Back to the Present…
"Good point, which is why this year I'm avoiding girls this year to focus on school." Said Peter.
"Yeah probably a good idea, but hey did you hear the rumours that there is a real life superhero in Book End now, now that is hexiciting." Said Hunter who pulls out his mirrorphone and starts looking for a news report when the bell rings. "Sorry Pete I'll show you another time after class."
'Don't worry Hunt, I didn't miss anything, I already lived through it.' Thought Peter. 'Although the Daily Page has yet to get a good picture of me, hmm now that I think about it.' Peter goes on the Daily Page's website. 'Aha! A cash reward for anyone who could get a decent picture of the vulture. Luckily with school having just started and Legacy Day coming up there are less classes right now so I know what I'm gonna do today.'
Milton Grimm's office…
"I must say I'm pleased you agreed to having some of your students accept internships." Said a blonde man who noticeable only has one arm. He is Doctor Curt Conners.
"Why of course, I always encourage my students to succeed." Said Milton. 'And more importantly follow their destinies and this way at least some if they see Ever After University it should help them feel encouraged.' He thought to himself. "Don't worry I'll look at my students that would be the best for your program."
"I actually heard about a Peter Parker that is your best student. I was hoping to meet him." Said Curt.
"Well, um, the boy is busy so you'll have to talk to him next time." Said Milton.
"Okay then." Said Curt who left.
Baga Yaga walked in overhearing everything. "You know that Mr. Parker is very bright."
Milton sighs. "I know but he doesn't even have a destiny, this could be an important part for getting students to accept their destinies."
"Maybe but what about what someone as smart as Mr. Parker could do for the world with this internship when he's older, and his mother was a charming, similar ot Dexter he could be married off to a small fairy tale or be the ancestor of the prince Charming in Briar Beauty's story."
"Ugh fine, I'll talk to Mr. Parker, after Legacy Day. Which reminds me that I need to prepare for Legacy Day rehearsals."
Legacy Day Rehearsals…
While Headmaster Grimm is explaining what to do for their Legacy Day rehearsals Hunter Huntsman isn't listening. 'Man, I envy Peter for not having a destiny, I know that neither me, Raven, Cedar or Maddie want to be here. Wonder what he's doing? Probably at the library, he may be my friend but I'll admit he makes Dexter and Humphrey look like Daring by comparison, so he would never do anything dangerous.'
What Hunter doesn't know is that Peter Parker the Spelltacular Spider-Man is at the top of the tallest tower at Ever After High with a camera hidden.
'Okay I just need to find the other crazy guy in an animal costume around here and stop him from committing crimes but right now helping Aunt May is higher in priorities.' Thought Peter who begins to feel the same tingling sensation he felt when fighting Crusher. 'Huh there goes that tingling sensation again I wonder what it…'
Peter gets attacked by the Vulture who he finally gets a good look: an elderly bald man whose head actually looks like a vulture and is wearing green armour with metal wings.
'Okay the… Spider-sense means danger. Got it.' Peter shoots webs in order to not fall to his doom.
"So what does that old man want anyway?" asked Peter who got his answer.
"Your story will cease to ex…" Milton was about to tell off Raven Queen when the Vulture swooped up both him and the unreasonably sized school rule book.
"Okay, that is karma." Said Peter but he jumps in and uses a web to push him forward towards a building.
"Ah Milton Grimm the headmaster of Ever After High, when I steal the Storybook of Legends and kill you I'll be seen as the greatest thief criminal of our time." Proclaimed the Vulture.
"Of our time, maybe someone a centuries past time." Said Milton. "And that isn't the Storybook of Legends, that is a reasonably sized book of school rules."
Vulture who has the book in his hands looks to see that Milton is telling the truth. "Well I can at the very least get rid of you." He lets go of Milton Grimm who was being held on by his talons.
"Ahhh!" screamed Milton in a high pitched almost feminine way, luckily he was caught in a giant Spider's web. "What's going on?"
"Don't worry, no headmaster's are getting smushed on my watch." Said Spider-Man leaning on a web.
"I demand you let me out of here!"
"Sheesh, you are about the grumpiest damsel I ever rescued… also the first." Remarked Spider-Man.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" asked Milton.
"Why I'm your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man of course."
Vulture swoops down to try and scratch Spider-Man with a talon but the wall crawler expertly dodges.
"So your real, I was hoping that our paths would cross." Vulture manages to hit Spidey with his left wing knocking the teen hero into the wall.
Peter shots a web at the Vulture's chest so he just flies away and drags Peter around Book End.
"Get off the skies are mine!" yelled Vulture.
"Your right I really just rent." Joked Peter. "And look beaky, I admire anyone who dresses up as their favourite animal, better still you can fly. So I have to ask: Have you heard the one about great power coming with great responsibility?"
Vulture just looks annoyed and angerly crashes Spider-Man into the nearest water tower and flies away.
'Great not only did I let Vulture get but I never made my webshooters waterproof, and now I'm stuck into this water tower and will drown if I don't escape. They should just put my picture on the superhero wall of shame.' Thought Peter, although that last part was a joke, who holds his breath and concentrates his spider strength to break out of the water tower.
Peter checks his camera and sighs in relief that it isn't broken.
'Maybe with the pictures I was able to get of the vulture this day won't be so bad.'
Peter heads to the Daily Page and heads to the staff office where he meets a man named Robbie Robertson and shows him the pictures he took of Vulture.
"I must say these are some fantastic photos Mr. Parker." Said Robbie.
"Thank you Mr. Roberston, although I must ask, where is the editor?" asked Peter.
"Well she is also the owner and has other duties so she often leaves me in charge." Answered Robbie. "But trust me you have a future in photography, maybe a job when your older."
"That would be great but science is my real passion." Said Peter. "But I'll accept my photos being sold with my name not being mentioned as the photographer."
"You've got yourself a deal." Robbie and Peter shake hands.
After Peter leaves he goes to meet the editor.
Back in costume so he can patrol a little before heading back to school Peter had to walk back since he can't web-swing with damaged webshooters.
'I really need to get these fixed.' Thought Peter who managed to get into a back part of Ever After High and climbs it using his wall crawling to sneak into his dorm.
Peter takes off his mask and opens his window and crawls up the ceiling to see his roommate and best friend Hunter jaw dropped and dropping his comic books.
"Your Spider-Man!?"
Peter jumps off the ceiling. "No, no I'm not, this is just a costume."
"You were on the ceiling." Hunter points out which makes Peter realize that the jig is up so he spends the rest of the night explaining everything to Hunter.
The next morning Hunter starts asking random questions while walking through the hallways.
"Can you shoot venom?"
"No."
"Can you summon an army of spiders?"
"That would be cool but no."
"Can you turn invisible?"
"Can spiders even do that?" asked Peter.
"Okay I'm just excited that I'm friends with a superhero, but you really need to fix your costume." Said Hunter.
"Yeah I know but neither of us knows how to sow." Peter points out.
"Well I may know someone who can keep a secret as has a talent for style, she could defiantly make you a better costume, Spidey." Said Hunter.
Peter thinks about it until he notices everyone looking at Raven entering the school.
'Raven Queen daughter of the Evil Queen, she probably has one of the worst destinies out of everyone in school, she is destined to take her mother's place as the next greatest villain in our world, I knew her before she and her father moved to the dark forest I never thought she was evil, I always felt bad for her that he has to follow a destiny like the Evil Queens.' Thought Peter.
"Hey Hunt, why is everyone staring at Raven?"
"All right you didn't hear. Raven said she doesn't want to sigh the storybook of legends." Explained Hunter.
"WHAT! Seriously?"
"Yeah, I don't want to go through with my destiny either but she is the only one brave enough to say she doesn't want to sign."
"No not that, when I was fighting the Vulture he said he wants to steal the Storybook of Legends." Said Peter who remembers. "And it will be out for Legacy Day."
"Aw man there will be a lot of people there, and that Vulture was willing to kill Headmaster Grimm." Hunter realizes.
"Okay, we know when he's going to attack, now I just need to fix my webshooters and stop him."
"And get yourself a better costume."
"Maybe. Now if you excuse me." Peter runs off to wear Raven went.
"Where are you going?"
"Me and Raven were friends once I want to see how she's doing." Said Peter.
Peter ran to the library and sees a disappointed Apple having just left. After heading in the library he finds Raven and Maddie looking like they just left from somewhere but Peter doesn't know if there is a basement or room that far back.
"Um, h-hey Raven." Said Peter waving to the two girls.
"Do I know… wait Peter Parker, its been forever ago." Said Raven.
"Yeah, well we don't have any classes and I'm used to girls not wanting to talk to me." Muttered Peter.
"Raven who is this?" asked Maddie.
"Maddie this is Peter Parker, he doesn't have a destiny." Explained Raven.
Maddie shakes Peter's hand in a rapid movement. "Good day Mr. Parker, I am Maddeline Hatter the daughter of the Mad Hatter of Wonderland."
'She seems nice.' Thought Peter. "So Raven, Hunter told me you said you didn't want to sign the Storybook of Legends."
"Um, yeah, I did and I'm not sure want to do."
"You want to talk about it that might make it easier." Suggested Peter.
"That would actually be great, thank you." Maddie leaves to go drink tea somewhere while Peter and Raven sit at a table.
"So, um, about your destiny…" Peter asks not really sure what to say since he doesn't have one.
"I don't want to become like my mother, I never have, but everyone always places these expectations on me and expects me to be something I'm not." Said Raven who sadly sighs. "It's frustrating because all I ever wanted was to just be allowed to be myself."
"I know we haven't really seen each other since we were kids but I still remember the girl that was the only kid who would play with me at the park when no one else would, I could never see you as anything but Raven Queen the kind girl who wants to decide for herself." Said Peter. "I once asked my Uncle Ben what he thought of destiny and he told me he never cared for it and believed that everyone deserved to choose for themselves even you Raven."
"Ben really is the best." Said Raven, she remembers Peter's Aunt and Uncle were the ONLY adults besides her dad that never saw her as only the future Evil Queen.
"Yeah, he really was." Peter says while looking down sadly.
"Peter are you okay?" asked Raven.
"Uncle Ben was murdered during the summer." Explained Peter which causes Raven to gasp.
"I… don't know what to say, Peter that's awful."
"I know, and I miss him everyday. Said Peter. "But that doesn't mean he wasn't right about destiny, everyone always tells us how our stories are supposed to go, but maybe we just have to do our own thing."
"DO my own thing." Raven repeats. "Thanks Peter you've been a big help." Raven grabs a piece of paper from her a bag and writes down her number. "Here in case you ever want to talk, here's my number."
When Raven leaves Peter gets a hext message from Hunter.
Hunter: I contacted my friend who can make you a proper costume.
Peter: Do you trust her?
Hunter: Yes I do fairy much.
Peter: Okay, I'll trust her if you do.
Peter: Tell her to meet us after school in the hidden back corner by the trash.
After school, Behind the trash…
"How, how are you doing that?" asked the girl Hunter asked to help, Ashlynn Ella. Who is looking at Peter walking on the wall.
'Ashlynn Ella, daughter of Cinderella, I don't really know her very well.' Thought Peter. "To answer your question I was bitten by a magic spider, and Hunter suggested if I want to be a superhero you can make me my costume."
"Why Peter, why do this at all, this goes against any of our stories, if you want to help you can become a knight or something similar." Said Ashlynn.
"Because I can't let Aunt May know, I promised her I would never seek out danger." Said Peter. "I tired to look the other way but that was the biggest mistake of my life. When you can do the things that I can and then you don't and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you. I think being Spider-Man, getting these powers, might be my destiny, the one I choose for myself. Please, can you help me?"
Ashlynn is taken back by Peter's little speech, hearing that because if you have abilities such as his and if you don't use them it actually strikes a cord with the future Cinderella, feeling that if she was in Peter's shoes she wouldn't want to stand by if she had powers she wouldn't want to stand by.
"...Okay, I'll help you." Said Ashlynn.
"Thanks." Peter does a flip and lands back to the ground. "I actually have a design in mind, I made a few but I settled on the last one I did." Peter shows Ashlynn his notebook and shows her his Spider-Man design.
"Was this really the best you could come up with?" she asks.
"I like it." Said Hunter.
"Good because I need it ready by Legacy Day." Said Peter.
"That's only by the end of the week." Hunter points out.
"Well this design isn't too complicated I should have it ready by then.
Legacy Day…
The entire school, minus one superhero, is watching the students ready to pledge to follow their destinies, although with the Royals and Rebels sitting with their own groups. Their Headmaster is hoping that if Raven realizes how foolish she is and sign the book, he even asked Apple so hopefully she convinced her and can end this rebel and royal nonsense. He is currently on the podium they used for rehearsals this time with the "actual" book.
Apple is walking to sign the book with doves on her arms ready to Pledge. "I am Apple White, daughter of Snow White, and I am ready to pledge my destiny." The doves fly away as Apple reaches out her hand and a magical key appears which Apple then inserts causing the book to open and she sees important parts of her story such as Raven poisoning her, falling asleep, waking up and then becoming queen, everything she ever wanted and she happily signs with no hesitation.
"Okay no sign of the old bird." Said Spider-Man who is now wearing a red and blue body suit, red mask with white eye pieces, a black Spider logo and a black webbing pattern on the red parts of the suit and is where he was when Vulture attacked before. "Shouldn't be too hard to spot an old man dressed as a bird."
"Up next Raven Queen." This announcement gets Peter's attention.
'C'mon Raven, do things your way.' Thought Peter hopeful for Raven.
"I am Raven Queen, daughter of the evil queen." She said looking at the book stuff she already figured, she poison's Apple becomes hated by everyone, chased out of the kingdom, arrested and then locked up with her mother. "And I am going to right my own destiny! My happily ever after starts now."
This causes great division in the school half cheer, Peter can see Hunter and Maddie and silently Ashlynn are cheering, but a lot of people are also booing Raven.
"I'm still here." Raven realized and then looks to Headmaster Grimm. "I didn't disappear."
"Ah too bad, would've meant one less teenager." Said a voice.
"Oh curses." Spider-Man jumps down. 'I was expecting an aerial attack but Vulture was smart.'
Vulture flew from the trees hidden and flew at a rapid pace and successfully grabbed the Storybook of Legends.
This speed causes the floating mirrors to lose their balance and start falling which will land on Raven, Apple and Grimm. The two girls close their eyes so they don't see what's about to crush them but it never came.
Raven reluctantly opens her eyes to see the mirrors held down by… webs?
"Don't worry your highness, no pretty damsels are getting squashed on my watch." Everyone at Ever After High looks to see Spider-Man swinging a web and then flipping down to do a signature pose of his. "Ready for round 2 old man?"
"I may be an old man but I am not a patient one, and I already have the book so there is no point in fighting you." Vulture holds out the Storybook of Legends, only for it to get stolen by Spider-Man by firing a web.
"You mean this book?" Spidey asks rhetorically.
Vulture flies to tackle Spider-Man but the teen hero only flips over to avoid the old bird and web zips himself into the school.
"That menace is going to destroy the school, and he stole the Storybook of Legends!" proclaimed an angry Milton.
"Menace? He just saved our lives." Asked Raven still mad at the headmaster for lying to her.
"He is clearly corrupting your mind." Said Milton.
"I have to agree with Raven, he saved our lives." Said Apple, although she doesn't actually know what to make of this masked man, her mother always taught her that real heroes don't wear masks and those who wear masks have something to hide and can't be trusted.
Inside the school Peter opens a locker which Vulture slams his face into. This only angers the villain who swings his left wing at Peter but he missed the right one slamming his into the wall and dropping the book.
Vulture was about to grab the book but Peter manages to web it to a wall.
Peter punches the vulture in the face.
"For the record I am not a fan of fighting old people."
Vulture crosses both wings in order to use them as a battering ram which Peter avoids but Vulture uses that to fly in and grab him while in the air.
"You call me old, but I prefer the term experienced."
Vulture flies up and crashes through parts of the building until the got outside again. Vulture then lets Spider-Man go hoping the pest will fall to his doom but Spider-Man shot a web at his chest.
"Sorry Vulture dying is not on my schedule for tonight."
Spidey uses the web to swing until is on top of Vulture.
"Get off me you cursed insect!"
"Spiders aren't insects we're arachnids." Spider-Man corrects.
Then to finish this Peter punches the engine in Vulture's flight suit causing it to fall and them to fall.
"You fool! You've doomed us both!"
"Haven't you been paying attention?" asked Spider-Man who creates a big Spider web to make Vulture look like a fly. "Looks like catching thieves just like flies should be added to the list of Spider powers I have."
Spidey slips over to land on the ground and sees everyone has been recording with whatever they had on them.
"Don't worry everyone he's stuck like this." Spider-Man reassures. "Just call the police because the webs dissolve in an hour."
Luckily Hunter does what his friend suggest.
Raven goes up to the masked man who saved her life. "Who are you?"
Peter looks to Raven. "You know hexactly who I am."
"I do?"
Peter just grins under the mask. "I'm your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man." With that the masked Hero web swings away.
What no one could imagine is two people watching the fight.
Snow White examines photos sent by Peter Parker who sent them an hour later and notices who her daughter was almost killed by the Vulture.
"That menace he dares show off my Apple, well I'll show him." Snow makes a call. "Robbie I know what our next paper will be.
In a dark room a man in a suit with a very thick looking head shows this to a shadowy figure.
"It's all real boss, the Spider-Man's real. This is bad for business." Said Hammerhead.
"Then we just have to squash a spider." Is all the figure hidden by the shadows says.
I'm going to end it here. Peter makes his big debut to the world as Spider-Man and fought his first supervillain. Snow and Milton both take Jameson's role here with trying to deface Spider-Man with Snow being in charge of the version of the Bugle. I had Peter in his thought's mention that he is friends with Hunter and Ever After High has dorms so Peter wasn't going to be able to hide his identity for long, also allows Ashlynn to make Peter's iconic costume we all know and love. I mentioned Peter and Raven know eachother the reason they didn't talk before this is because Peter isn't very sociable and Raven when her mom cursed Wonderland except for Maddie preferred to keep to herself which is why until now they didn't talk to each other again.
