Chapter 7: Feeling

Disclaimer: I don't own any aspect of the Supernatural series. All I do is show my love for writing by incorporating Reiko Souma and her guardian (both of whom belong to me) into whatever I enjoy. also, please keep in mind that – although I have long since finished watching the series in its entirety – I had started writing this story during my first watch of season seven. So, not all of the characters that have been introduced to date will be in the story. Please bear with me, and feel free to give feedback and whatever way you want.

The story is based on an idea of pairing that I – laugh if you want – half-envisioned during class one day, half-dreamt about one night. I hope you enjoy a slightly unique twist on a CastielxOC pairing that doesn't take him out of character!

I'm also dedicating this story to all of my followers on my Reiko Souma role-play page on Facebook. thank you, all of you, for your continued support!

Curiosity. Reiko sensed that he wanted to explore and learn human behaviour, which led her to wonder if he himself wanted to be human...

...even if for just one day.

"Reiko." Very softly, in a voice just above a whisper, the woman's name was spoken. Their unplanned kiss had ended, their faces slowly gaining distance. Yet by her side the angel remained with his hand to the side of her face, gently caressing it. Neither of them had ever thought of being kissed...until now. Deep pink eyes didn't look away. Instead, their owner reached her own hand out to gently brush a loose lock of hair away from the other's forehead.

She wanted to kiss him again. What was stopping her from doing it? Other than their probably committing blasphemy with that kiss alone, not a damn thing. "Castiel," Reiko uttered his name just as quietly. Her mind was on Cloud Nine. It definitely wasn't in the hospital room. "Castiel..." She placed her hand on his shoulder and stood, leaving herself no space as she stood in a tight space between angel and bed. "...I like how you kiss..." Reiko whispered. Tilting her face upwards, she pressed her lips to his gently and kissed him again. Resistance didn't exist between them as their arms snaked around each other, Castiel being the one to press Reiko firm against him.

They parted again. This time, the angel gently lowered Reiko onto the bed. Sitting now, reality hit like a ton of bricks. Now they knew for sure that they were in trouble, Castiel most of all. "I'm...sorry," he managed. He turned away, that same emotion hitting him which had been felt when he had seen Reiko feeling so much pain the first time. Guilt. "I...we...were wrong." He looked so full of disgust, and he was. With himself, that is. He was taking responsibility for the two of them kissing like they had not once, but twice.

"We were," she agreed. Reiko looked at him. "Do you regret any of it?"

"No," he answered after a moment. With a smile, Reiko slid back into bed so that she was laying down once more. There was a knock on the door, and she gave them permission to enter. Thank the Heavens it was a real doctor, one whose eyes weren't black with possession.

They had a cart with food and injections. "Hello, Miss Souma." She walked to the bedside and did a quick check of her vitals. "No pain?" Reiko shook her head. "That's good. Let's see what we would've had to give you..." The doctor pulled out a paper from a folder on one side of the cart. Then she looked it over. And frowned. "...that can't be right."

"Is something wrong, Doctor?" Reiko asked, having seen the look on the doctor's face.

"Instead of the standard sedation, they changed it to morphine in a lethal dose." She looked up from the paper. "They want to kill an otherwise healthy person..." The doctor looked closely. "...and do the same to ten other patients. Someone's really disturbed to do this. You'd be best to discharge yourselves based on your improvements. I'll go get this straightened out." She hustled away, leaving the injections and food on the cart.

As soon as the doctor left, Reiko stood and hurried over to shut the door. Somebody had pronounced her death sentence and wanted it to be carried out. "We've got to leave, Castiel," she said. She gathered her stuff together. "Unfortunately, that means taking what we can get out of this cart. If they want to kill me, then they're going to have to do it without me or the medicine...and fortunately for us, I know how to read these."

A quick count was taken of the medicines on the cart. There was enough morphine to kill half a classroom's worth of students at a college. This shouldn't have even been on a cart, never mind left unattended! Reiko loaded her stuff onto the cart.

"Are we stealing the cart?" Castiel asked. Reiko nodded.

"We're stealing the cart," she answered. This time, there was no hesitation. The angel took hold of Reiko's shoulder and relocated them to her bedroom. "Wow. Getaway express, huh." She started to push the cart away to one side when Castiel placed his hands on her shoulders. With a single gentle hold, he guided her into laying position and leaned over her. "Tha-" He cut her off with his lips on hers. Something about this one felt hungry and fuelled by desire. What had gotten into Castiel, all of a sudden, that he was now kissing her like he was?

"Don't talk," he said in a low husky voice. He kissed her again and moved his hands down to the sides of her waist. She could feel his warm hands against her skin as they ghosted against the skin beneath her shirt. He gently lowered her down so that she was laying on her bed, and he started to crawl over her. "I will help you."

Castiel was giving Reiko goosebumps! His fingertips were sending shivers up her spine with his spoken word. This was the same angel who had just minutes ago told her that they were both in the wrong for kissing. Now they were doing it yet again. Reaching out his right hand, it met Reiko's shoulder. It was then that he made the decision, whether he was thinking or not. "I want to become...

...human."

"Why, author???"

my poor readers ask. You'll see!

Long time, no see! This chapter, having been pre-written several years ago, is finally being posted for your reading pleasure. Yes, I'm fully aware that Castiel appears to be a bit out of character with how he kisses my Reiko…but that's why this isn't canon, right?
