"How do I look daddy?"
Cora stood in front of her mirror in her bedroom and was admiring her dress. Blue was her favorite color.
"You look beautiful ladybug."
Blushing slightly, Cora averted her eyes from her father's reflection in the mirror behind her.
"Really?"
Smiling, he nodded his head and kissed the side of her head.
"Yes you do. You look as beautiful as the day you were born."
Cora rolled her eyes.
"Aw, daddy… Not that story again…"
Jamie gave Cora a look and rubbed the nails of his fingers on his left hand against his shirt.
"Well, what do you expect with the Reagan genes?"
Cora gave Jamie an unimpressed look.
"Ok daddy, are you saying I get my good looks from you?"
The father-daughter duo turned their heads towards Cora's bedroom door when they heard a knock on the door frame.
"Well, you're forgetting the other half of her genes. Mine."
Jamie smirked and pulled Eddie into the room with his free hand. He had pulled Cora into a hug with the other.
"Well, together we made some beautiful kids."
Cora looked at Jamie and Eddie and made a face.
"Ugh. I don't need to know about your sex life. Gross."
The couple beamed proudly at Cora in the mirror. Eddie felt emotional all of a sudden.
"You look beautiful. I can't believe my little girl is graduating high school."
Cora took a breath and let it out.
"Neither do I mama. Almost doesn't seem real."
The whole Reagan family was sitting in the front row of the auditorium waiting for Cora's name to be called. There 60 kids graduating according to the program, and Cora's name was coming up soon. Some of the speeches were quite good, while others were just ok. Finally, the moment had arrived, and Cora had entered the room.
"Cora Rene Reagan."
The entire family erupted in loud applause. Cora blushed as she stepped forward towards the principal. Shaking hands with her, Cora took her diploma and listened to the principal speak once more.
"Congratulations Cora, and good luck with medical school."
Cora smiled and nodded.
"Thank-you."
Stepping away from the principal, Cora took her seat with the rest of the family. Jamie reached over and kissed her forehead.
"We're all so proud of you honey. Never forget that."
"Daddy the application process for college is kind of hard. You have to write essays?"
Jamie nodded his head and looked over the paperwork Cora was filling out.
"Yes, and hopefully with a little bit of 'Reagan luck' you'll get into the school of your choice. By the way which schools were you thinking?"
Cora's face lit up.
"Well, Stanford, Colombia, and Harvard. Do I want to go to my dad's alma mater? Or go to Harvard? So many options…"
Jamie was delighted yet saddened at the same time. His little girl was going away to college, which meant she was really growing up.
"It's your choice baby girl. I'm just here to guide you. Your only 15 after all."
Cora rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, but only for like another month."
Jamie kissed her forehead.
"I know. But you are still my little girl."
