52 days second cylon war
Celeste, Scorpia
Empress Celea looked out of the Armored window of the armored ground car, her mind lost in thought. When the cylons had bombed the Colonies. When her father died she became the youngest Empress in Virgon's history. She looked every day of her seventeen years.
She brushed her long blonde hair behind her ear as the car drove through the streets towards the large Pyramid stadium where the first passenger liners full of her fathers…..her peoples survivors were gathering word from Admiral Lamb saying they hand found bunkers had arrived in the early morning hours of yesterday. The excitement and pride of her people surviving even against the cylons nuclear bombardment made her heart swell with pride for her people.
The Virgon adage "have faith in yourself and your deeds, and the gods will provide for you." echoed in her mind with her fathers voice. Those words had struck a deep cord in her the first time her father had told her that when she was ten and attended the funeral rights for a crew when their ship attempted to save a civilian passenger liner. The ship was having reactor problems and the cruiser hadn't hesitated docking with the stricken ship. Almost the entire engineering crew surged across and began repairs while naval and marine personnel attempted to reassure the frightened passengers. But it didn't work, something went wrong and the liner exploded and the cruiser too close shattered into pieces in the shock wave…no survivors.
Looking out the window Celea saw a thriving city making mental notes of buildings once heavily damaged now sitting repaired and open for business the Scorpian guard had been able to knock down every nuclear warhead the cylons had fired at this city and Argentum, but many others had not been as lucky. The guard forced to choose had targeted the nukes and let conventional missiles through, as they entered the stadium it struck her for the first time since she arrived here with the rest of the Virgon navy just over a month ago how far they had come.
When she arrived on Scorpia the atmosphere had been grim and determined if the people were going to die they were going to make the cylons pay for every inch. She could feel the thought coursing through everyone she met from people in the streets trying their best to support the war and protect their families to the military she met training and pushing themselves to be better to DO better.
Now though she looked around and a relative calm had descended on the people. Picon, Virgon, and Caprica now were firmly in their hands, and recolonization of Leonis and Touron was underway. Her home Virgon would need at least another week to bring the unbelievably high radiation down to livable conditions. Cheering broke her out of her thoughts.
"Welcome Empress Celea of VIrgon." said a man in a Uniform she had never seen before "I believe this is the first time we have met face to face as it were. I am Commander John Hook of the UNSC Artemis"
She looked around in confusion. Her body had autopilot to the small hallway before the court where the players would run out onto the court to play. The crowd's cheering was nearly deafening; she took a deep breath and stepped through the doorway.
The stands were filled. Nearly three thousand people cheered wildly when they caught sight of Celea. Photography flashes reminded her of the time when she was 15 and a Caprican reporter took photos of her on a private nude beach reserved solely for the royal family. And how calm and collected she was when she gave a press conference after a caprican times office was bombed. Simply because they were from the same colony as the others who printed the nudes as front page material.
Walking up the stairs of the elevated platform in the center of the court she looked at the gaunt faces of men, women, and children. Doing her best to look each of them in the eye and squared her shoulders
"Citizens and warriors of Virgon, today marks a new beginning for not only the empire, the other colonies, but for the human species as a whole. Though we all faced unspeakable tragedy, friends, family, and lovers. And not just them the little boy running through radioactive wreckage of his home looking for food at home on Virgon, the little girl holding the bodies of her murdered parents on Caprica but for every single person who survived the bombs and were evacuated to safety." Celea looked over the mass of faces in the silent room, her eyes lingering on several who were quietly crying at her words.
"And we can not forget the millions of men and women of our Navy, Army, and Marines. Who fought and died over the last two months to keep you safe. I have seen and heard unparalleled heroism and self sacrifice from them in this horror that is unmatched even during the first war our people and homes did not suffer this much." She lifted a piece of paper from the podium for all to see. "At the last census the Colonies of Kobol held twelve worlds as we all know what some may not understand is that on those worlds there were roughly fifteen billion people." she paused looking over the crowd letting the massive number sink in.
"So far the best we can calculate there are now only five billion people here on Scorpia and Picon and in space continuing to fight. In the opening attacks and the fighting since we have lost sixty-six percent of our population. Now as more people are pulled from shelters and survivors continue poking their heads up to look around that number will grow but as to how much I can't tell you that." Celea said, keeping her voice firm and steady.
"Rather than mourn and feel sadness at our losses as a species, let us remember them, let us never forget their sacrifice, their determination to stand even as their brothers and sisters fell around them to protect the people behind them." she said her voice hardenenting as she pushed her own determination into her words. "It is our Duty and our Honor to hold those memories and actions close to our heart moving forward as we carry on with their legacy at our back. We will rebuild. We will restore our worlds and our people. Together we shall strive to rise higher than we have ever been."
Celea looked over the silent crowd hanging on to her every word. The room was as quiet as a tomb. "So let us come together and push towards our destiny and our future. For now rest, regain your strength and when you're well again help the person next to you so that we can all move together."
She took a step back and brought her heels together and brought her left fist over her heart in a Virgon Salute. She looked over her people and eyes widened a bit as she saw her father in the crowd and their eyes locked. He returned the salute tapping his chest twice in his typical way silently saying he loved her before fading away.
POV change
Imperator Typhon
Task force 12
Admiral Javin Hopkins stood on the bridge of his battlecruiser surrounded by the twenty two Imperial Virgon Navy ships. This was a point of honor for Javin the Dream of Virgon and her crew had been entrusted to him by the Emperor and his fleet were going to get them back. They had left the forty eight Colonial navy ships behind to continue decontamination and rescue efforts.
The four battlestars would have been helpful but he left them behind with strict orders to watch the former pirate ships after they had cross loaded every human in their custody. Javin and his fleet hadn't stayed to watch though, jumping immediately towards the Nord Nebula on the edge of colonial space before the first cylon war.
As the fleet sat waiting for their jump drives to charge Javin addressed the fleet "attention Virgon's sons and daughters our home may be back in our hands but their are your brothers and sisters still in harm's way and it's our duty to rescue them." he said his eyes sweeping over his own bridge crew "they have only a single ship like the one we captured over Virgon and a massive freighter however i don't know how well that information is to believe we know they arrived with two of those small corvettes and the freighter when we heard from the former UNSC ships crews. But we have seen that they have both human and cylon ships in their fleet so be prepared for anything. I want every bird we have ready to launch the moment we arrive and every Raptor loaded with marines ready to board the dream and secure our people, and bring them home."
Every sailor and marine listened to Javins words and felt a grim determination set over them. Across the fleet pilots climbed into their vipers preparing for launch and a fight marines boarded every Raptor they had. Each of them checked their UNSC manufactured rifles and shotguns. Every one of them was preparing for a fight, most of them had seen first hand how powerful the advanced alien weapons and vehicles were during the massive cylon assault on Scorpia. And knew this would be a massive battle and a costly one each of them were willing to pay the price to rescue their comrades from these aliens.
"FTL charged sir" said Captain Wilma Tavish brushing her red hair back into a ponytail "awaiting your orders."
Javin didn't hesitate knowing every man and woman under his command on these ships were ready and willing to fight to the death if need be to protect a fellow Virgonese….no fellow human. "Jump"
The linked drive computers counted down and on 0 the twenty-three ships blinked disappearing and reappeared a moment alarms screaming "STATUS!" called Javin.
"Sir we have multiple cylon warships in system , each of them seem to be shadowing a Marinestar through a Debris field and three more Base ships surrounding the Dream."
Javin looked to the DRADIS monitor and saw the enemy ships. As he watched the eight Virgon carriers began spewing forth their compliments of vipers and raiders the Prince Dalyn cruisers moving up into a line formation to screen the carriers.
"Sir the new model Baseships are launching raiders as are the old model ones they are even launching a..i don't know how they got them but half a dozen alien Banshee's, a longsword, and three Pelicans."
"Signal our craft to engage while we outnumber them." ordered Javin.
"That's it sir they have only launched a half dozen raiders likewise with the banshees, and the four UNSC craft." said Tavish
She was about to say more when the communications officer spoke up "sir! We have an incoming message from the Dream."
"Put it on," Javin said to the technician.
"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" said the voice.
"This is Admiral Javin Hopkins of the Imperial Virgon battlecruiser Typhon." he said "who is this?"
"This is Major Sarah Ember Colonial Marines." She identified herself. "Call off your assault, these are cylon rebels, they freed us."
"Then why launch fighters the moment we arrive?" challenged Javins, his eyes narrowed.
"We weren't sure you weren't the other cylons these toasters were running from." Sarah said.
"Prove it." Javin said "order all your craft to return to their hangers if they launch again we will clear the space of everything but us."
It took a moment for her to answer but as she did the launched craft turned around and headed back to their carriers. "Done sir, they won't launch or begin hostile action."
"Inform the cylon ships to receive our marines just to make sure they stay peaceful as well." Javin instructed.
Over the next hour each of the three base ships are boarded by marines as is the Dream of virgon where they discover the ship is filled with humans numbering nearly twenty six thousand. Inside its massive hangar are a trio of Marinestar's and a Minotaur class gunship. The baseships are much the same way the craft launched earlier were found to be recently repaired from the battle against the pirates or in the case to the Banshees recovered aboard the Dream when they captured the ship.
The real surprise was the resurrection ship containing thousands of humanoid cylon bodies just waiting for the personality download to reactivate. The human cylons were loaded aboard that ship under close supervision from marines.
With marines in firm control of the Cylon ships and the SAR of hundreds of additional humans inside what are called Cryo chambers wrapped up, the ships began a return journey to Scorpia prizes in tow."

Authors note
ok guys the pirates are wiped out the cylon rebels will be brought into the fold with the colonies and now all that's left is the now outnumbered cylon loyalist and the flood outbreak on Kobol. And of course the eventual return to UNSC space…
I hope everyone enjoyed the speech by Empress Celea and the battle hype speech of Javin. Next chapter will get back to the fight. I hope to see you there.
Reviews
Guest yes and no they did capture the Dream which had a tertiary assembly forge and a incomplete secondary assembly forge (halopedia) remember they couldn't continue building without more material that's the reason Mayham's Delight and then Flight master Geh'uk was sent out they ran through everything they had modifying the salvaged Colonial ships and modifying the Dream of Virgon.
Chatokay agreed but as you saw it's wise to never completely trust an enemy just because they say they rebelled. It's honestly a quick way to get a knife…..or nuke in the back.
Spanish guest sometimes if you cant fight a technologically advanced ship you have to find a primitive way of dealing with it it's a human thing lol look up a HFY story called percussive maintenance taking a super advanced/expensive piece of tech and slapping the shit out of it we don't know why it works but it does.
See you next time so say we all
