"So you always knew what you wanted to do, huh?" Rapthalia asked. In a way, she admired people like that. For her, it was harder to decide what to do given just how many options there were.

Back in the old days, you would just be expected to carry out the same profession as your parents. Things were so simpler back then. In this modern day and age, there were so many careers that one would be so spoiled for choice that paradoxically, it was harder to choose.

Well, actually, in the past the only profession that was available to her was 'princess' thanks to her heritage in a way, though it was no longer so.

"I guess you could say that," Eclaire said. "Though, being with my family is mainly what led me to this career path. isn't there something you always wanted to do?"

"I guess there were things that I wanted to do," Raphthalia said, thinking. "But those were things like keeping my family happy, spending time with them, and then..." she trailed off as she wanted to add on 'finding my friends' but wasn't sure if she wanted to share that much with someone like Eclaire. She felt like she wasn't ready.

At least, wasn't ready yet.

Not at this stage.

"But don't you already have a job?" Eclaire asked, suddenly realizing something.

"Have one already?"

"That thing that you do secretly with Iwatani-san."

"...can you not phrase it like that? It sounds kinda dirty."

"What do you mean... oh, I see what you mean. No I didn't mean things like that."

"But, streaming isn't really a career," Raphthalia said. "At least, I don't think it's something that I can do long-term. Not to mention we're not really brining in that much cash."

While Raphtalia had gotten somewhat more popular with time, the fact still remained that they were basically brining in the equivalent of pocket change every week.

it was barely enough to cover their Internet costs and some meals. They were hardly raking in huge amounts of dough.

Not to mention, that they weren't even close to achieving her original goal with that- which was finding the rest of her friends.

On top of which, the thing was that the whole thing was a scam. Raphtalia's main appeal was that she was a female streamer who played Eryuentiu Online, filling in a niche that was otherwise left vacant. However, this was only on the surface. She was barely clinging on to things with Naofumi's help, and if she got too big, it would be found out that she was just a figurehead.

Who knows how her 'fans' would react then.

It was probably for the best that they hadn't' blown up too much .

Come to think of it though, they had gotten more attention now that there was that crossover event with that SwordMaiden character. Only she wasn't sure when that would be, Naofumi was supposed to be helping her out in that scenario and had the final say, but he had enough to deal with on his plate as of now.

"I've heard of people called 'influencers' making a big buck," Eclaire said.

"Again, I'm not at that level yet," Raphthalia said.

"So then what else do you think that you'd like to do?"

"I uh..."

"Forget that, what don't you like to do?" Eclaire asked. even if people weren't sure what they liked, they were rather clear on what they disliked.

"I don't like fighting..."

"That's doesn't narrow things down by much as most jobs don't' require fighting," Eclaire said. "Oh, by the way, I get that you don't like fighting, but do you want to go by this great place for fencing that I know of?"

Raphtalia sighed. She should've known that this wasn't going to be a normal girl's day out, not if someone like Eclaire was tagging along.

Come to think of it, she really didn't know what a normal 'girl's day out' was supposed to be like anyway. Rifana would talk about them sometimes after some of the movies that she'd seen, but Raphtalia hadn't really experienced something like that herself.

She hadn't had the opportunity to in her old country. No matter where they went at the time, they would be surrounded by guards. And not just one or two people, but a horde of security around her.

She was one of the royal family, after all. It could be said that she was in more danger than even someone like Melty- far more dangerous, given how dangerous their country had been at the time.

It was the biggest reason that she had no qualms about giving up her heritage, because the stress of living like that was so much she couldn't' imagine anyone who would want to go through it.

Point being, she really didn't' know what girls her age 'should' be doing other than what her class mates told her.

Well, that, and Sadeena, however whatever she suggested was not a reasonable point of reference for anyone.

"Of course, we don't have to go there first," Eclaire said, likely seeing Raphthalia's expression and then realizing that this was not the right street to go down, at least not at first. "I mean, I know that you've practiced kendo, and it's not really the same, but I thought that you could show me some pointers. I was quite impressed by the way you handled the situation back in that café!"

"Yes, I might've gone overboard thought," Raphthalia said.

"Nonsense- your form was impeccable," Eclaire said. She realized quickly enough that she wasn't doing much to help her case and changed the topic as soon as she could. "You know, but that's something we can do later. wouldn't want to get too exhausted before we head out, after all. I know this place which sells the best of the best when it comes to clothes, let's go their first!"

Raphthalia agreed, that seemed like a somewhat reasonable thing to do. At least, she thought so.

"Ah, and we can stop by for a drink first," Eclaire said. "And then see if there's something that'll help us smell better- not that you smell or anything, but you know, we might be working up quite a sweat later!"

'No, this is definitely not normal," Raphthalia thought to herself.
