INT. OGGY'S BACKYARD – DAY
A sunny, peaceful afternoon. Birds chirp. The backyard is decorated with balloons tied to fence posts and trees. JOY, a tiny purple baby cockroach, waddles with excitement, babbling and giggling. BUMPY, the bandaged, clumsy blue cockroach, stands next to a helium tank surrounded by balloons of all colors.
JOY
(excited babbling)
Goo-goo! Ba-boo! Heeeheee!
BUMPY
(nervously holds a balloon)
Okay, Joy… one balloon at a time. No— NOT all at once!
Joy giggles and punches the tank valve with her tiny fist. The valve bursts open. Balloons inflate rapidly, shooting up everywhere.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
BUMPY
Waaah! I didn't sign up for a balloon storm!
A balloon knocks Bumpy backward. He lands in a kiddie pool with a SPLASH. Joy bursts into uncontrollable giggles.
JOY
Heeehee! Pfffft! Ba-loooons go boom!
Bumpy scrambles up, covered in water, pool toys stuck to his head.
BUMPY
Let's not do that again.
He slips again on a water toy and crashes into a tree, causing a rain of balloons to fall.
JOY
gasping laughter Boooom! Bumpy go fly-fly!
One balloon gets tangled around Joy's waist and slowly lifts her into the air. Her giggles turn to delight as she floats.
JOY
Wheeeee! I flyyyyy!
BUMPY
No no no no! Joy, come back! You're not a blimp!
Cue a frantic, goofy chase sequence. Bumpy grabs a leaf blower, aims up, and accidentally launches himself into the air after her.
EXT. SKY ABOVE CHAVILLE – CONTINUOUS
Joy floats with glee. Bumpy, spinning out of control from the leaf blower, crashes into a flock of pigeons.
BUMPY
Watch the feathers! Watch the—SPLAT!
A rogue pigeon poops on his helmet. Joy giggles even more.
JOY
Poooopy! Hahahaha!
EXT. OGGY'S BACKYARD – LATER
Both are back on the ground. Bumpy is a total mess—wet, bruised, tangled in balloon strings. Joy sits on his tummy, holding a balloon proudly.
JOY
Boom-boom ba-loon fun!
BUMPY
(sighs, smiling)
Yeah… fun. Just… next time, I wear armor.
They laugh together. Another balloon suddenly pops. Bumpy flinches dramatically and falls backwards. Joy falls off, giggling madly.
JOY
Again! Again!
FADE OUT.
