Misty Ketchum had a strict routine that she religiously followed on weekdays. As a high school teacher at the local all-girls school, she was determined to set a good example for female students, and her daily day-to-day lifestyle was no exception to this rule. Even with a husband who stayed up late at night and woke up late in the morning, she would see to it she always arrived on campus on time and had an adequate amount of time left to be prepared for the current day of instruction. Her husband, Ash Ketchum, on the other hand, was a whole separate case.

Misty woke up at six o'clock sharp in the morning, and fortunately, she did not have to worry about waking up her husband as they slept in separate bedrooms. Ever since she and her husband were hired around the same time for their respective schools, they decided it was best for them to have different rooms otherwise, their conflicting schedules would result in domestic chaos between them.

After completing her personal hygiene, changing into her work-appropriate outfit, and eating her breakfast, it was time for her to leave. But, before she left, she walked to her husband's bedroom. Opening the door, she was not all surprised at the sight of her loudly snoring husband, deep in slumber.

Bending down, she kissed his forehead, going down to kiss his nose and cheeks before finally leaving a kiss on his chin. Content with her action, she nuzzled his neck and ran her fingers through his short and spikey black hair.

"I suppose I will be seeing you during lunchtime…Again," Misty complained to herself, sighing in exasperation.

She closed his bedroom door and then walked to the front door of their house. She made sure to lock up the front door properly before she headed inside her car. She then drove off to Blossom School for Girls, which was only a thirty-minute drive from her house.

Ash had a most pleasant dream this time around; it was a flashback to his and Misty's wedding day, but things were better than the actual events! In this dream, he and Misty were at their reception party. They were throwing their respective matrimonial accessory to the crowd of unmarried singles. In Ash's case, he threw a black velvet box containing the watch he had worn previously at their wedding ceremony to the group of young men who awaited to catch the box. In Misty's case, she threw a white velvet box containing the bracelet she had worn previously at their wedding ceremony to the group of young women who awaited to catch the box.

However, something unexpected occurred from the watch and bracelet toss. A short, blue-haired, and blue-eyed teenage girl caught the black box, and a tall, purple-haired, and dark-eyed teenage boy caught the white box. The teenage girl had on a purple furisode while the teenage boy had on a blue iomontsuki haori hakama. The teenage girl in purple was Dawn, one of Misty's students. The teenage boy in blue was Paul, one of Ash's students. Ash and Misty, both being teachers, invited their students to attend their wedding.

However, it would have made sense for Paul to catch the box containing Ash's watch and for Dawn to catch the box containing Misty's wedding. It did not matter as Ash and Misty ended up laughing at the humorous sight in front of them. Paul's mother had pushed Paul to join the crowd and attempt to catch Ash's watch box, but in the process of running away from the madness, he caught Misty's bracelet box. Dawn's mother told Dawn to participate in the toss, and Dawn eagerly walked over to the crowd, but she was accidentally pushed off by Ursula, who was a little too competitive and excited about the prospect of receiving Misty's bridal luck.

In the end, Paul and Dawn exchanged the items that were never intended for them to catch. Paul was irritated by the teasing he received, while Dawn giggled lightheartedly at the teasing. Now, all of this actually occurred at the wedding, but what happened next only happened in the dream…

Flash forward to the future, Ash and Misty were wearing formal kimonos, and they attended a wedding as members of the bridal party and groom's party, respectively. The bride and groom were none other than Paul and Dawn themselves, except they were several years older. Ash and Misty's children were happily running around the venue while Ash and Misty gave out their speeches. Once the speeches were done, Ash wanted to run to the buffet line, where plates of wedding-style biryani were calling out his name. There were chicken biryani, beef biryani, goat biryani, prawn biryani, fish biryani, and vegetable biryani. But, before he could get there, Barry and Kenny were crying over the fact that Dawn would forever be off the marriage market. They were fighting each other as to who would have been a better fit to be her husband and knocked over all of the tables where the food was placed. As Ash was about to attack them himself, there was a loud beeping noise.

Ash jolted out of his bed; the loud beeping noise was none other than his alarm wake. Shutting down the sound, he checked the time and saw that it was eight o'clock.

"Woah, that was one scary dream…Actually, it was more of a nightmare!" Ash said to himself, spooked by what he had just conjured up in his mind, "I couldn't even get my fourth helping of the food!" He yawned, stretching his limbs before looking back at the alarm clock. His eyes widened. "Oh no, I'm going to be late for school!" He blinked and pondered for a few seconds, "Wait, I'm thirty-three! I graduated high school and university already! What am I worrying about? I'm all good." He fluffed out his pillows before placing his head on them. He sat upward, realization now having dawned upon him, "Wait, I'm a teacher though! I've got seven classes…I'm going to miss my homeroom class if I don't get ready!"

Under intense stress, Ash attempted to rush everything. This included his personal hygiene, changing into his clothes, preparing his badly burnt from microwaving breakfast, locking the front door securely, and running out of the house to drive his car to work. Unlike Misty, his commute to work was shorter as his all-boys school, Horizon School for Boys, was on the opposite side of the hill from where Misty's school was.

Ash's personal theory as to why an all-boys school and an all-girls school were on two different sides of the hill was simple. Professor Benvolio Rowan must have lost a bet with someone, possibly Arthur Drayden, and that was why two schools were built on Sweet Cherry Hill.

Fortunately, Ash was only thirty minutes late to his morning homeroom class, and the substitute was Tyson, a teacher whom Ash got along well with, and they always had each other's back.

"You're late," Paul stated, "Misty Madam told President Dawn, who told me to expect a tardiness from you."

Ash scratched his neck, giving Paul a sheepish smile. "Sorry about that, everyone."

"Pathetic," Paul sneered, "even Ritchie Sir comes to campus on time, and he lives almost two hours away from here."

Ash shrugged, "You are more than welcome to switch homerooms and be with him instead. Why didn't you do that for your sophomore year? I've had you for all four years, so I do think it's a little too late for you to be rid of me, Paul."

While Ash disliked Paul's constant comparing him to Ritchie, another teacher in the school. He could not find it within himself to hate Ritchie. Maybe they would have been rivals in another lifetime, but without Ritchie, he would not have met Misty, and Ritchie had a major role in their love story. Ash owed his marriage to him. However, this was not something he could casually admit to his students, especially Paul.

Paul rolled his eyes, "We have fifteen minutes before homeroom ends. Do you have our current transcripts with you, or did you forget them at the main office when you clocked in?"

"Oh, I have them right here!" Ash handed a stack of papers out to Paul, who distributed them amongst his classmates.

"What do you want for lunch? Misty Madam asked President Dawn to ask you that."

"I want wedding-style biryani, and I want all of them! Chicken, beef, goat, prawn, fish, and vegetable, give them to me," Ash answered, a dreamy expression on his face.

"Excuse me?" Paul snorted, "Wedding-style biryani? You'll need to have a wedding for that first." Sighing in exasperation, he wrote it down on the clipboard. "I will inform President Dawn of your answer."

It was lunchtime, and students and staff alike were allowed to leave campus to walk to the picnic area of the hill shared by both schools. At a larger reserved picnic table, Ash spotted Misty and Dawn, both of them waving at him, signaling for him to come over. Paul joined them shortly afterward with bags of takeout.

"I honestly can't believe you were made to order wedding style biryani, Troublesome," Paul commented, placing the bags of takeout on the table.

Dawn shrugged, "I love wedding-style biryani! The catering company had extras available for the general customers to order, so there was lucky timing for us."

"It's still pathetic that an already married man is ordering wedding-style biryani for everyone to eat."

Before Ash could protest, Barry and Kenny arrived with their lunches, eyeing the biryani the four of them were eating.

"No fair, how come you guys get to order out while we're stuck with whatever vendors are here at the hill," Kenny whined.

Barry nodded his head, "Exactly! I will fine whoever is responsible for all of this!"

Dawn giggled, "That's why I bought extra, knowing you two would be envious! Here you go, you two can share it among yourselves!" She gave them the extra bag and watched as the two of them eagerly opened the container of food and began digging in.

"That's some good stuff right there," Barry said, sighing in pleasure.

Kenny had his thumbs up, "I rate it five out of five stars!"

Misty chuckled at their antics, "Right? Amber Cuisine has the best biryani! I would get married again just to have a large-scale catering of their entire biryani menu."

Paul snorted, "Too bad you can't do that unless you divorce him or he dies first to remarry." Gazing directly at Ash, he added, "I bet he'd leave you for a plate of Amber Cuisine's wedding-style mixed meat and vegetable biryani and marry that instead."

"I would not," Ash argued.

Paul smirked, "You were the one who asked for the biryani in the first place."

"You know what, Paul! I hope Dawn doesn't marry you at all, but instead, she marries someone else. At least there would be no fights between Barry and Kenny at the wedding! And, me and the kids would be able to eat all of the biryani in peace, too!"

Dawn blinked, processing what she had just heard, "What? Me marry that jerk! As if! I would much rather marry Ritchie Sir than you! And we'd have better catering at our wedding than if I were to marry you! I bet you'd order toxic rocks and molten lava as the wedding food!" Pointing towards Paul, she asked, "Do you seriously see us together anytime soon in the near future?"

Ash shook his head, "Well, I did at first. But not anymore, ever since this morning's nightmare."

"Huh?"

Paul grunted, "Toxic rocks and molten lava? That's pathetic; I would much rather serve deadly poisons in bottles directly!"

Misty facepalmed, "This is getting out of hand now."

"Agreed," spoke out a voice from a distance, revealing to be Professor Rowan, who had Principal Maylene from Blossom School for Girls and Principal Reggie from Horion School for Boys following him behind.

Everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at him, giving him their full, undivided attention.

"It's too bad you two aren't fond of each other," Professor Rowan remarked, referring to Paul and Dawn, "I much rather enjoyed seeing you two interact at their wedding. Your homeroom teachers' wedding happened during your sophomore year, and everyone, myself included, had high hopes that you would have gotten together during your senior year. It's not unusual for this sort of thing to occur. Many students from both schools have found their future spouses on this hill, and I was hoping that would be the case for you two."

This resulted in mixed reactions from Paul and Dawn.

"Come on, Professor Rowan! I thought we were good friends! You said you wanted nothing but the best for your students," pointing to Paul, she continued on by saying, "If I marry him, I'd be all miserable from all of the pain and suffering he would put me through."

Paul groaned, "I hold you in high regard, but this is crazy...There is not a single reason as to why I would marry her. And, if I did, I will see to it that there would be no biryani served at the wedding."

Wanting to say more, the two of them opened their mouths, but the sound of the bell rang. Lunchtime was over, and this meant the president of each school now had to return to their duties. Glaring at one another, they packed up their things and left, walking down on opposite sides of the hill to the main gate of their school.

"We will talk about this afternoon, at home," Misty told Ash.

He obediently nodded his head in response to this as he watched his wife run after Dawn.

"Next time Ash, don't let your food-related nightmares get the best of you," Principal Reggie suggested.

Principal Maylene teased, "The biryani looks good, though. We should order some another time because right now, I can not look at a plate of rice without laughing, I will only be reminded of today's incident."

"Me too," Reggie agreed.

Ash whined, "I just wanted to eat all the wedding-style biryani in peace. Is that too much to ask for?"

Perhaps it was.

The End.
