Shark Tale has always been one of my favorite animated films to watch ever since childhood and I still enjoy watching the movie so much, and since I love Shark Tale so much, I decided to do a whole twenty four-part miniseries version of the movie that serves as a whole retelling of the movie which is known as When A Little Fish Tells A Great White Lie that has brand new scenes, brand new characters, brand new locations, different dialogue. Episode 10: That's What Best Friends Are For
Chapter 3: The Place To Stay
At the surface of the Atlantic Ocean during the nighttime, at the vast distant forest that is located right near the vast city of New York City, New York which is the vast magnificent reef known as Southside Reef that is heavily inspired by one of the boroughs of New York City which is known as Manhattan, at one of the holes in the grounds on the forest that serves as the home to the worm and his family, the worm and his younger two siblings are now being tucked in their own beds in their bedroom by their parents as well as their grandparents while they began hearing the story all about how there's actually a chance that fish and sharks are capable of having friendships with each other even though fish and sharks have served as enemies to each other throughout the years, and they even inform them that they should accept themselves for who they are and shouldn't pretend to be something that they're not.
"So, you three kids wanna hear a story tonight while we tuck you in?" asked the worm's father.
"Uh-huh." said the worm.
"Mmm-hmm." said the worm's younger brother.
"For sure," said the worm's younger sister.
"Okay, you three. I guess it's storytime and you've always loved storytime so much." said the worm's mother."
"Of course we've always loved storytime," said the worm's younger sister.
"Storytime has always been one of the best things ever." said the worm's younger brother.
"Also, we would do storytime on most nights as well." said the worm.
"Well, the story you're gonna hear tonight is all about fish and sharks being able to get along with each other after all." said the worm's grandfather.
"It's 'cause we just learned from some of our neighbors in the forest that it's very true that fish and friends can be friends with each other." said the worm's grandmother.
"Really? Then let's get started already." said the worm.
"We wanna hear about it so much." said the worm's younger brother.
"Oh, this story is gonna be exciting." said the worm's younger sister.
"So, it has been many years that fish and sharks have always been at war with each other, and it has been going on for so many years." explained the worm's grandmother. "The fish would do anything to defend themselves from the threat of the sharks and the sharks would do anything to make the fish the next catch of the day."
"Fish has always been prey to the sharks and the sharks have always been the predators to the fish, and all 'cause of that, fish would be afraid of sharks." explained the worm's grandfather. "Also, the sharks and any other undersea predator would form mafias and would commit crimes in any reef that is being inhabited by fish and any other sea creature, and the ones who live in those reeds would form organizations to fight off the mafias for sure."
"However, while undersea organizations and undersea mafias would usually battle each other, it turns out it's not always like that." said the worm's mother. "Not all fish are afraid of sharks and not all sharks are a threat to fish, and they would form friendships with each other once they have somehow managed to get to know each other better."
"That's right, and most people in the whole ocean actually believe that fish and sharks can be friends together due to what has been going on between them for years." said the worm's father.
"Including most people in the surface word believe it too, but most other people both in the surface and the sea would believe for fish and sharks to bond with each other. So, I guess that's all we have to say about fish and sharks being friends for tonight, children."
"Wow!" said the worm's younger sister.
"That's amazing!" said the worm's younger brother.
"Thanks for telling us that wonderful story about fish and sharks!" said the worm.
"Also, we've already known it's possible for fish and sharks to get along with each other no matter what and we've always known that kind of thing." said the worm's younger sister.
"Yeah, and even though they've always been at war together for many years, most of them will be friends with each other once they will understand each other." said the worm's younger sister.
"Many people say that fish and sharks can't be friends and many people say that fish and sharks can actually be friends after all." said the worm. "Even after a shark saved me from being bait in the Atlantic Ocean by untying me from that fishing hook from weeks ago."
"We're really grateful that a shark did save your own life from that fishing hook from before, and we thought we're gonna lose you for sure." said the worm's grandfather.
"Neither of us will ever forget the kindness that shark did for you, and it's an example of how most sharks in the ocean are not all that dangerous," said the worm's grandmother.
"Well, besides fish and sharks being capable of being best friends that's not all we wanna tell you about tonight." said the worm's father. "There's something else you wanna hear and it's about the true meaning of honesty. We all already know that nobody should tell lies at all, even if they wish to be a somebody and be respected by others due to dealing with any kind of traumatic experience which is being made fun of by others for being different."
"People are usually misjudged by others for being so different, and we already know that it's such a good idea for them to accept their differences," said the worm's mother. "While people would accept other people's differences is such a good idea, it's also a good idea for everybody to just accept themselves for who they are and show some value of what they already have in their lives rather than taking it for granted by letting their own insecurities get the best of them due to what they have been through."
"The ones who have been traumatic experiences would do whatever it takes to be a somebody and gain respect from others, even if it means dishonesty." said the worm's grandmother. "They would start pretending to be something that they're not so they would be very special for once, but they would eventually realize that telling lies to make themselves look better isn't really worth it at all and would eventually realize the consequences it has since it turns out that telling lies have serious consequences, especially when they're pretending."
"Oh, and by the way, while those people are being judged for being so different, they would have best friends who would view them as a somebody and respect them." said the worm's grandfather. "That's one of the things that friendship is all is all about, and 'cause of that, those kind of people who are being misjudged who have friends that has always supported them and be there for them shouldn't take them for granted due to their own insecurities about being a nobody and they should understand that they're already special in their own way."
"So, we guess that the whole lesson is just be yourself regardless of what anybody else says, children." said the worm's mother.
"You should just listen to their own heart instead of their head, and they shouldn't pretend at all." said the worm's father.
"You know, we're grateful that you told us about that story about dishonesty, and you're all right, just be yourself and appreciate what you have." said the worm's younger sister.
"Living a lie is no way for anybody to live, even if they have always wished to be noticed by others due to having traumatic experiences." said the worm's younger brother.
"Everybody is already special in their own way, and what makes somebody a somebody if they have somebody who likes them for who they are." said the worm.
"That's right, and one more thing, kids. Always be yourself and don't tell lies in order to be noticed, even of what you would be through." said the worm's father.
"Mmm-hmm, so good night, and remember, you're already special in your own way just like anybody else are and respect others' own differences as well." said the worm's mother.
"Good night." said the worm, his younger brother, and his younger sister.
Then, the worm and his two younger siblings' parents and grandparents give each of them nuzzles on their head just as they express their deep familial love for each other and leave their own bedroom just as they all prepare to go to bed themselves, and right after they did, the worm, his younger brother, and younger sister vow to take their own parents and grandparents' advice that they should be themselves and appreciate what they already have rather than letting their own insecurities get the best of them and pretend to be something that they're not, and they already know that they have always enjoyed being themselves no matter what regardless of what anybody else would say about them mostly because of how everybody are different from each other and nobody is the same at all which is very true. Also, they begin wondering about how things will turn out for a fish falsely claiming to kill a shark to be noticed by others, and they plan to ask their parents and grandparents some other time.
Back at the Atlantic Ocean within the one of the vast neighborhoods of the vast magnificent reef known as Southside Reef that is heavily inspired by the New York City borough of Manhattan, Oscar, Lenny, and Teresa continue to swim throughout the sewers of the reef together for a moment just as Oscar continues to help out Lenny and Teresa with finding a place to stay in the reef which will turn out to be none other than the very old storage warehouse of the Whale Wash, and he soon opens up a nearby lid within the street just as he noticed that nobody was out in the street which causes him to be relieved at that point and he prepares to escort Lenny and Teresa right towards the storage warehouse that is in the distance just as Lenny and Teresa began showing gratitude for helping them out when it need while Teresa still felt great concern about how much harm Oscar's lie would eventually cause and still attempts to warn him all about it and even Oscar admits that he enjoyed helping them out even though he felt greatly annoyed by it at first, especially when he got to know them better, much to their own delight.
"Okay, Lenny and Teresa." whispered Oscar. "We've arrived at the Whale Wash storage warehouse, but it's really far so we're gonna have to swim right towards it."
"Alright, Oscar." whispered Lenny.
"If you say so." whispered Teresa.
"So, your own future at the storage warehouse awaits you after you two have left your own home and turned to me to help you find a place to stay at." whispered Oscar. "Also, I am very honored to help you guys in your own situation when you need it."
"That's right." whispered Teresa.
"For sure." whispered Lenny.
"Oh, and by the way, even though I wasn't so thrilled to help you two out at first, I actually enjoyed it so much." whispered Oscar. "It was when I got to learn more about you guys and you got to learn more about me, and it turns out that we could relate to each other of what we've been through for being so different and somebody being misjudged by others for being so different can be something relatable."
"Mm-hmm." whispered Lenny.
"Absolutely." whispered Teresa.
"Now, Lenny and Teresa, follow my every move while we're going to the storage warehouse, and don't make a sound at all." whispered Oscar.
"As you wish." whispered Teresa.
"You got it." whispered Lenny just as he heard himself echo within the sewers. "Oh, I hear an echo. ECHO!" He heard more echoes of himself. "Now battling for the Southside Sharks at #15 and then…" He ends up getting slapped by Oscar. "OW! It's not okay to hit!"
"Lenny, we really don't have time to act so foolish right now, and we have to get going to the place we'll be staying at." whispered Teresa.
"You're right, and it doesn't give it the right for Oscar to hit me when I was acting so foolish during all of this." whispered Lenny.
"I know, and Oscar, please keep your own fins to yourself and it isn't very kind to hit others." whispered Teresa.
"Don't worry, I will, and it's for as long you don't act so foolish and just stick with the plan, okay?" whispered Oscar.
"Okay." whispered Lenny and Teresa.
Oscar then lifts up the lid and leaves the sewer just as he signaled Lenny and Teresa to come along with him out of the sewer so they could swim right towards the old Whale Wash storage warehouse and Lenny and Teresa would have a place to stay at for a while without getting caught by anybody during the nighttime. Teresa easily swims throughout the hole of the sewer due to her very slim size and quickly went behind a wall in the alley, and Lenny attempts to swim throughout the hole, but he ends up getting stuck due to his very large size which causes Oscar and Teresa to help him get out of the hole by working together. Suddenly, just as they are, Oscar, Lenny, and Teresa heard some dolphin police sirens which causes them to become filled surprise just as Oscar and Teresa continue to help Lenny get out of the hole in the sewers and they successfully got him out of there in time just as they all hide themselves right behind a wall of the nearby alley where the witness a dolphin police officer going on patrol during the night.
Just as the dolphin police office continue going on patrolling during the nighttime throughout the streets, he didn't even notice Oscar, Lenny, and Teresa hiding right behind the wall in the nearby alleyway, much to their own relief just as they all continue swimming throughout the streets and continue swimming right towards the storage warehouse of the Whale Wash where Lenny and Teresa will be staying at for a while. During their journey throughout the streets right towards the Whale Wash storage warehouse, they all continue noticing some more dolphin police officers on the patrol in the distance which causes them to hide right behind the walls of more nearby alleyways in the streets so they wouldn't get caught by any of them. They soon have managed to dodge all of the patrolling dolphin police officers and continue to do what they needed to do.
Then, after managing to avoid getting caught by the dolphin police officers by hiding within the alleys of the streets, Oscar, Lenny, and Teresa continue to swim throughout the streets right towards the old Whale Wash storage warehouse without being noticed by anybody at all and eventually arrive right near the storage warehouse after it took a moment to get there since it was at the distance, and Oscar signals Lenny and Teresa to be careful arriving at the storage warehouse and begin doing some acrobatic skills just as he hid right behind a lamppost, hid right inside a mailbox, and hid right behind some trash cans and eventually made it to the entrance of the storage warehouse where he presses a button and opens up the slide door for Lenny and Teresa to enter inside of it just as he signals Lenny and Teresa to hurry up and get inside which they quickly do so.
Teresa quickly followed Oscar's moves and swam right towards the entrance of Whale Wash storage warehouse just as she did some very impressive backflips as well which greatly amazes Oscar, and Lenny quickly followed Oscar's moves and prepares to swim right towards the entrance of the storage warehouse just as he also attempts to roll himself around, but he accidentally trips himself which causes him to crash into many objects in the process such as a hydrant, a lamppost, some trash cans, some boxes, some crates, and some mailboxes which causes many mail to fly out from them in the process and Lenny eventually ends up crashing right towards a nearby dumpster while he continued making so much noise in the process just as Oscar was greatly annoyed by the whole thing and signals Lenny and Teresa to get inside of the Whale Wash storage warehouse immediately.
"Get your own tail-fin in this storage warehouse with your little sister right now!" whispered Oscar.
"Do you think anybody heard that?" whispered Lenny just as he held onto his head in pain.
"Lenny, are you alright?" asked Teresa just as he held onto Lenny in order to comfort him.
"Yeah, Teresa. I guess I am." whispered Lenny just as he accidentally hit himself on the bottom of the slide door on the head. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
"My goodness." whispered Teresa just as he and Teresa suddenly went inside of the storage warehouse together."
"Seriously?" whispered Oscar in complete annoyance just as he was about to get inside of the storage warehouse, but he suddenly notices Crazy Joe come out the nearby dumpster that Lenny has accidentally crashed into.
"What the…? Hey, who's out there? What's going on at a time like this?" asked Crazy Joe in confusion.
"Yo, Crazy Joe! One of my homies!" Oscar greeted.
"Oh, Oscar, it's just you! I thought it heard something going on out here!" said Crazy Joe.
"Well, it turns out to be just myself, that's all." said Oscar.
"I can see that already, and besides, you must be patrolling for some sharks during the nighttime," said Crazy Joe.
"Huh? What did you just say?" said Oscar.
"You know, you must be making sure that the reef will be safe from the threat of the sharks. Did you get any of those sharks tonight?" said Crazy Joe.
"You have no idea, Joe, and you're right, I did get a shark and I sent them screaming for mercy for sure." said Oscar.
"That's great to hear about, and the entire reef is counting on you to stop the shark menace and show them who's boss." said Crazy Joe.
"Yeah, they sure are, and I'll make sure that no shark will bring any more harm to this reef just like they did many years ago when the Shark Hunters used to be around." said Oscar.
"Another great hear about, and I bet you took good care of any killer whale and any swordfish during patrolling as well." said Crazy Joe.
"Actually, Crazy Joe, you're right about that too, and just like the sharks, I sent the killer whales and the swordfish pleading for mercy too." said Oscar.
"Totally amazing! So, Oscar, good luck on continuing on keeping this reef safe from the threat of the sharks, killer whales, and swordfish." said Crazy Joe.
"Thanks," said Oscar.
"You're welcome, and by the way, I gotta go now. One of my favorite TV shows is on." said Crazy Joe.
Crazy Joe then went inside of his own shell where he begins watching one of his favorite TV shows which turns out to be The Benny Hill Show just as the Yakety Sax theme song of the TV show can be heard from right inside of Crazy Joe's shell while Crazy Joe laughed like crazy at his favorite TV show to watch, and even Oscar was even amused by how much Crazy Joe enjoyed watching The Benny Hill Show so much while he went inside of the Whale Wash storage warehouse and closed the slide door. Right inside of the storage warehouse of the Whale Wash, Oscar proceeds to help both Lenny and Teresa to get themselves settled in the place just as Lenny and Teresa were very amazed by how old the Whale Wash storage warehouse is and all of the supplies that are used by the employees of the Whale Wash has been left there, especially of how nobody hasn't even entered the place for so many years. Also, Oscar proceeds to get to know more about Lenny and Teresa in the process just as he begins a brand new friendship with them which turns out to be so unexpected as well.
"Alright, Lenny, and Teresa. We're all safe. For now." said Oscar.
"Oscar, thank you very much for helping us out when we needed it."
"No problem, and it's the best I could do for anybody who needs help."
"Well, this is the storage warehouse of the Whale Wash you told us about?"
"Yeah, and I told y'all you'll be staying at a place like this one and there's honestly many other places sharks can fit in at this reef, but this is the place I chose for you two." said Oscar.
"Whoa. This place looks old. I mean, really ,really, really old."
"You can say that again, and like I said from before, it hasn't been visited for so many years." said Oscar. "Well, it used to be used by the many employees who worked at the Whale Wash even when it first opened up many years ago. However, the employees stopped using this place to store their cleaning supplies and began leaving them out at the cleaning sections of the Whale Wash instead, and it's been going on for years now."
"We understand that very well, and it does make a lot of sense for a business like the Whale Wash. I guess we're gonna have to get used to staying at this very old place." said Teresa.
"That's right, and even though this place is so old, it still does look very interesting for anybody to stay at for a while." said Lenny.
"Uh-huh. I mean, look at all of these cleaning supplies, and most of them must've not been used for so long, especially the employees leaving the rest out these days" said Teresa.
"It almost looks like we're standing in a museum, but it's using very old cleaning supplies rather than what a museum would usually have," said Lenny.
"Mmm-hmm, and if it was an actual museum, then it would prove to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in this reef ever." said Teresa.
"Also, while there's so many cleaning supplies left over, I can see some beds that has been left and there's over two of them," said Lenny.
"Just enough for me and Lenny And it's our lucky moment too, even on a time like this one." said Teresa.
Lenny and Teresa both then began laying themselves down on the nearby beds that both has been left in the storage warehouse of the Whale Wash just as they began relaxing themselves and began adjusting themselves to staying at the storage warehouse together after Oscar has helped them out with staying there for a while, and while they do so, they proceed to learn more about Oscar and Oscar proceeds to learn more about them just as they both began informing him all about how it turns out that not all sharks in the ocean are vicious killers and most of them prove to be very gentle which Oscar quickly believes their explanations right away and Oscar began informing the two siblings Lenny and Teresa that he could easily relate to what they've been through lately due to how he has been cruelly mocked by his own classmates for looking up to his late father Earl's job as a tongue scrubber which has lead him to believe that the only way to be a somebody and gain the respect that he yearns for is to become rich and famous.
Also, while Oscar, Lenny, and Teresa continue to get to know each other better which has lead to a brand new friendship with each other and show some sympathy towards each other for what they have been through lately which they could relate very well, Oscar eventually learns that since not all sharks in the ocean are extremely dangerous after all, it turns out that most fish and sharks can become best friends with each other which made him imagine in a world where fish and sharks could live together in peace and harmony rather than going to war with each other which has always been going on for so many years even after the Five Families has been first founded by one of the ancestors of the Lino crime family and the Shark Hunters used to be the defenders of Southside Reef, and during the whole conversation, Lenny begins revealing his own deep dark secret that he has kept over the years which Teresa has already known as well as anybody else did, much to Oscar's surprise.
"Oh, that feels so nice. That's heaven." said Lenny just as he relaxed himself on his own bed.
"Yes, these beds are very relaxing." said Teresa just as she relaxed himself on her own bed.
"Snuggly buggly wuggly." said Lenny. He then quickly grabbed Oscar who was swimming nearby. "Oh, I love you so much, man!"
"Hey, Lenny, what are you doing?!"
"Lenny, wait a minute! Hold up! Just hold up!"
Lenny began giving Oscar a noogie on his head. "We're getting to know each other better after we first met each other, and that makes you our new best friend!"
"Cut it out, Lenny! That's enough, and I would like to be Oscar's new
"You're sister is right, Lenny! Stop it!" said Oscar just as he got out of Lenny's grasp again. "Okay. If you two wanna be friends. Then fine. We'll be friends from now on. But first, we gotta lay down some rules around here. Rule #1, no snuggly buggly…whatever that just was."
"You got it. Anything else you need to add to the rules?"
"Here's rule #2, and this is the most important rule." said Oscar just as he turned on a nearby flashlight. "If there could be a chance…you know…if either of you can get hungry, and I have known many people who work at the
"Don't worry, Oscar, Teresa and I are not gonna eat anybody just like any shark would usually do since fish has always been on their menu." explained Lenny. "In case we need to remind you about what we've explained to you from earlier, I'm different from the other sharks and my own sister Teresa has always encouraged me to be so different from the other sharks, even when the other sharks have discovered that when we got older together."
"You see, Oscar, just like we've been saying from before, even though most sharks are aggressive, most sharks prove to be very friendly." explained Teresa. "Lenny is a strong example of a shark being so friendly and I am an example of that kind of shark too, and we already know that we wouldn't do anything to kill anybody."
"Well, if that's so, then define the word "different" so I could be able to understand the concept that most sharks in the ocean are actually kindhearted rather than vicious." said Oscar.
"I wish I could tell you, but you'll end up laughing if I told you." said Lenny just as he turned away from Oscar.
"Lenny, I promise I won't laugh if you tell me." said Oscar.
"That's what most people say. And then what happens later, you laugh." said Lenny.
"I give you my word. Just tell me what you and Teresa mean, and I promise I won't laugh at all." said Oscar.
"Big Brother, I insist that you should tell Oscar what we exactly mean about you being so different, and he swears that he won't laugh and I swear it too." said Teresa.
"Alright, I'll tell you." said Oscar just as he turned back to Oscar. "I'm…I'm…I'm…I'm a vegetarian." He then hid himself under the pillow to avoid witnessing Oscar laughing at him and checked on him from under the pillow.
"Oscar, it's very true. Lenny is a vegetarian, and that's the whole meaning of him being so different from the other sharks." said Teresa.
Oscar tried not to laugh for Lenny's own sake. "Wait a minute, you two. Hold up." He continues to try not to laugh. "So, that's it? That's all you wanna tell me about you being so different?"
"What do you mean that's it? You're the very first fish I ever told." said Lenny. "Oh, I am so tired of keeping it all a secret for so many years, and the only one who knows my secret is Teresa as well as anybody else such as our mother, our grandparents, and our older brother Frankie who got killed by the anchor and took credit for killing him so you could finally be a somebody and be respected by others."
"Lenny is right, Oscar, I've always known that Lenny is a vegetarian and I've always helped him keep it a secret from the rest of our family." said Teresa. "We would also share Lenny's big secret to anybody else who would keep the secret, including our own late brother Frankie which you have made up the entire story about killing him to be noticed."
"So, since Lenny is a vegetarian, that must've made you a vegetarian just like he is." said Oscar.
"What? No way. I'm not a vegetarian, and just 'cause I'm a gentle shark just like Lenny, that doesn't make me a vegetarian too." said Teresa. "Look, not all kindhearted sharks are vegetarians, and while they wouldn't eat anybody just like the sharks who serve as cold-blooded killers, that doesn't stop them from eating anything else besides fruits, vegetables, and any meatless products."
"Oscar, let us explain the main diet of a kindhearted shark if all of them are not vegetarians. I would like to know something like that." said Oscar.
"Sharks like us would usually eat anything that is not meat which deadly sharks would usually eat, especially fish, crabs, sea turtles, walruses, and starfish," said Lenny. "We would eat fruit such as strawberries, bananas, apples, grapes, and oranges, vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce, and meatless products such as meatless spaghetti, meatless lasagna, meatless ravioli, meatless sausages, meatless meatballs, and so much more. So, what's what sharks like us would usually eat rather than fish and any other sea creature that sharks would usually eat, Oscar, and that's all we got to give you."
"Hey, I already know that fish would eat those kinds of things, and those examples are the many restaurants throughout Southside Reef and any other reef in the ocean," said Oscar. "The examples are the meatless burger restaurant Fish King, the meatless chicken restaurant Percheyes, the meatless pizza restaurant Pizza Halibut, and the meatless taco restaurant Taco Mussel as well as the donut restaurant Kelpy Kreme, ice cream restaurant Dolphin Queen, the pancake restaurant IHOS, and the same thing goes for any local business that sells foods and beverages in the whole ocean world."
"We already know that kind of thing too, and we already know that sharks would eat any meatless products just like we would." said Lenny. "The same thing goes to the killer whales and the swordfish, and the main reason why they would eat meatless products 'cause it still looks like meat and tastes like meat. Meatless products turn out to be the other favorite thing of any shark, killer whale, and swordfish they would like to eat, besides anything that serves as their own prey for sure."
"Lenny, Teresa, thank you very much for giving me that kind of information about the difference between friendly sharks and bloodthirsty sharks," said Oscar. "I really needed to hear about that, and honestly, it's very interesting to learn something about that, especially since fish and sharks have always been at war with each other for so many years 'cause sharks have brought nothing but fear to fish."
"Also, besides giving you some information about it, there's something else you need to learn that not all sharks are dangerous, Oscar." said Lenny.
"Yeah, we're gonna give you another example of how most sharks in the ocean are actually very friendly towards anybody." said Teresa.
Flashback
Many years ago within the wastelands of the Atlantic Ocean, young Lenny and young Teresa are playing the game of tag together, and the two young siblings tagged each other which make them it and do the best they can to avoid getting tagged by each other by fleeing from each other very fast while they had so much fun during their game together. Both young Lenny and young Teresa continue to play tag together and have so much fun during the game together until they heard some crying in the distance which causes them to become filled with surprise and confusion, and they both give their game of tag a pause for a moment in order to see who's crying and they began swimming throughout the wastelands together for a moment until they witnessing who was the one who was crying which turns out to be a young female fish child who owns a pet guppy and they both decide to comfort her and her pet guppy while they inform him that they're not the sharks who would bring harm to anybody.
"Hello, fish girl." young Lenny greeted.
"And hello to your pet flying fish." young Teresa greeted.
"Huh? Oh, no! It's two sharks!" exclaimed the young fish girl in fear while her pet guppy became filled with fear as well.
"Wait a minute. We mean no harm." said young Teresa.
"Please, don't eat us! I'm too young, and my guppy is too young too!" exclaimed the young fish girl.
"Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt ya." said young Lenny.
"You…You won't hurt me and my pet?" asked the young fish girl just as she and her guppy began calming themselves down.
"Mmm-hmm, we promise on that very well." said young Lenny.
"But, you two are sharks, and sharks eat fish just like us." said the young fish girl just as her guppy nodded in agreement.
"True, but not all sharks are like that." said young Teresa.
"Really? Is what you're saying true?" asked the young fish girl in surprise.
"Yeah, and even though sharks are dangerous, they prove to be very friendly just like we are." said young Teresa.
"Wait a minute? You guys are friendly sharks?" asked the young fish girl.
"Yes, and we promise that we wouldn't do anything to hurt anybody, including you and your pet." said young Lenny.
"Well, it looks like you haven't attempted to eat me and my flying fish at all, so..so…so I believe what you just explained to me already and my pet believes you too." said the young fish girl.
"We're so glad to hear about that, and by the way, what are you two doing out here in the wastelands anyway?" said young Lenny.
"Oh, it's 'cause that I ended up getting lost in this area when I was looking for the best sand for a project I was doing at my elementary school in Southside Reef." explained the young fish girl. "My flying fish and I eventually found some sand for my class project, but we couldn't find our way out of here and need some directions, especially how dangerous this place is 'cause it's the home of sharks, killer whales, and swordfish while we did learn that not all of them are deadly."
"Hey, we know a way back to the Southside Reef, and it's so easy. All you have to do is go to that direction, pass a few areas, and you'll be home in no time at all." said young Teresa.
"What are we saying is absolutely true, and we know any way to get to the reef, especially if we would go out to the wastelands for so many years." said young Lenny.
"Thank you very much, you two, and my guppy and I appreciate it very much." said young fish girl just as she smiled at young Lenny and young Teresa while her guppy did the same. "Also, we're really amazed to learn that even though most sharks in the ocean are cold-blooded killers, most of them prove to be very kindhearted just like you two are, and since most of them are like that…maybe there could be a chance that fish and sharks can become friends with each other."
"You're right, there could be a chance for that kind of thing to happen." said young Lenny.
"It's something we've been saying to ourselves for so long as well." said young Teresa.
"I guess this is goodbye, and hopefully someday, I'll be able to see you again if I end up right here in these wastelands since it turns out that you're harmless sharks." said the young fish girl. "I'll be looking forward to it very much, including my pet guppy, and when that day comes, we'll be able to get to know more about each other, even when it turns out that fish and sharks can get along with each other after all."
"Bye. said young Teresa.
"See ya." said young Lenny.
The young fish girl and her pet guppy then leaves the scene just as they began returning back to their own home at the Southside Reef and waved bye to both young Lenny and young Teresa as well as showing their own gratitude towards them for helping them out with some directions to go back to the reef after they ended up getting lost in the wastelands in search for some sand which is for the young fish girl's project at elementary school, and the young fish girl and her guppy hope that they will be able to see young Lenny and young Teresa someday after they learned that not all sharks are cold-blooded killers and most of them prove to be very gentle just like young Lenny and young Teresa are. Both young Lenny and young Teresa watch the young fish girl and her guppy leave the area just as they began hoping that they will be able to see them again someday as well as hoping to see other young sea creature children that they would help out when in need and get to know them better since not all sharks in the ocean are dangerous and most of them prove to be very tenderhearted.
End Flashback
"So, that's what we needed to tell you about how not all sharks in the ocean are bloodthirsty killers, Oscar, and most of them prove to be so kind." said Teresa.
"That's right, and those kindhearted sharks would help any other sea creature in need, just like we did from many years ago." said Lenny.
"Wow! Thank you very much for saying those things to me, Lenny and Teresa, I really believe that sharks could be capable of that kind of thing." said Oscar. "I've always heard about the stories of sharks always being a threat to this reef due to always committing so many crimes and having anybody who lives in the reef to work for them out of fear so they wouldn't become their next main course, but I never heard the stories of fish and sharks could be friends after all until right now and I just became best friends with you two after we got to know each other better in the process."
"How we managed to know each other better is how we've managed to feel sympathy towards each other for being misjudged for the choices we make," said Lenny.
"Also, each of what we've been through lately is very tragic and that's exactly how the world is 'cause they expect you to be just like them and be the same." said Teresa.
"Well, since I already know that I wouldn't do anything to kill anybody, I guess our own father would never accept me for who I am since I'm so different," said Lenny. "The only one who accepts me for who I am is Teresa who has always been on my side just like anybody else would and she would only commit the crime of theft in order to not have anybody get hurt at all, and even after everything that has happened lately, our father still expects me to be just like Frankie and he says that I bring nothing but shame to our crime family 'cause of being so kind. Oh, what's wrong with me? Also, I'm still the one who's responsible for Frankie getting killed by the anchor and if I was able to save in time, then he would still be alive. It's all my fault."
"Lenny, our father would eventually come to understand that you are just yourself no matter what, and we've always told ourselves that when we got older." said Teresa. "Even our mother told us too when we've begun going through all of this, and all you have to do is just give him a little time to do so and you just swore that you will do it. There's nothing wrong with you being so friendly and you are already perfect just the way you are, and there's nothing wrong with you being so different either 'cause everybody is different and nobody's the same."
"You know what, Lenny, your sister Teresa is absolutely right, man." said Oscar. "Nothing's wrong with you being so different, and I already like you just the way you are just as Teresa and anybody else would. So, since your own father kept judging you for not being a cold-blooded killer just like your brother Frankie, then you should at least give him a little time to understand that kind of thing and it's very important for somebody to understand that somebody is just their own person no matter what. Also, stop blaming yourself for what happened and it wasn't really your own fault. Frankie getting killed by the anchor was just an accident and you didn't mean for him to die in the first place, and that's something else you gonna understand that as well."
Just as Oscar continues to bond with Lenny and Teresa and managing to get to know each other better which is what they have been through which they could relate to very well and show great sympathy towards to which has eventually formed a brand new friendship with each other that proves that fish and sharks can be best friends with each other since not all sharks in the ocean are dangerous as well as Teresa continuing to encourage Lenny to not give up on giving their father a little time to understand that kind of thing and that Frankie's death is not all his fault while Oscar began doing the same once he got to know the siblings better, from outside of the storage warehouse, a group of members of the Five Families are approaching right towards Southside Reef just as they all prepare to track down the Sharkslayer and have him killed in order to have Frankie's death avenged.
