We'd returned to UA and our classes. It was coming up to the end of winter break, and the new term was about to start. Only three months left over in our first year.
"An auspicious New Year to you all!" Iida greeted us with Yaomomo. They stood together at the blackboard, and Iida was welcoming us back as class Rep. "In today's class we'll be giving status reports. We will share what we learned, accomplished and experienced over winter break. Everyone, please suit up and report to ground alpha!"
"All right, Wrap it up -" Sensei began as he opened the door.
"Happy New Year, Sensei!" Ashido told him as we all left.
"I have informed the class of today's agenda!" Said Iida.
"Iida sure does a lot of pointless engine revving," said Kaminari."
Iida grinned and straightened hisglasses.
"Well, you see, Manual - the hero I did my work study with - is now leading a team in Hosu city. I was only with them a week, but in that time, I learned - how to be flexible!"
He's so funny, the way he jokes around! I grinned. Goodold Iida, always put me in a better mood.
"Uh huh." Said Kaminari.
"Spinning his wheels again," said Sero. "Like a bike, whole chain is always popping off."
We girls headed to the locker room to change; andeveryone there was super impressed by my new gear.
"Do I spy a new costume, Ochaco?" Asked Tooru. "Looks great on you!"
"You really think so? Phew!" I felt myself blushing.
"Whoa! Heavy!" Said Jirou, lifting my new wrist weights. "Your Urarakawrists!"
"There's wire stuffed inside," I explained. "Cuz weight isn't an issue, given my quirk. Sure makes the case heavy, though."
Suddenly a door opened on the one Ashido was lifting - the one where I kept it, and it dropped out.
"ACK!" I yelled, not wanting Ashido to start in on me again.
"Oh, that's" Jirou began.
"I knew it!" Ashido shouted. I'd been too late.
"S'not what you think, Ashido!" I told her. "Seriously, that's not it. Just keeping it on hand."
I really wish they'd stop riding me about it. It's really not what they think!
"SYmbol - of - SWEETS! ALL MIGHT!" All Might shouted to us. He was whipping up a big thing of cotton candy.
"Huh? Where's Mr. Aizawa!?" We asked.
"Hey guys, c'mon! I put all my might into this gag. Anyhow, Aizawa was just called away on urgent business."
That was funny - but it was time to demonstrate what we'd learned over the break. Boy did I have some stuff to show them!
"GET TERMINATED HUMANS! WE ARE THE SKYNET OF THIS WORLD!" Called the training robots, as they rushed on our first team to go. Aoyama sliced through them with his newly formed - "Navel Saber!"
"Ooh, a new move! Everyone loves a sword!" Said Kaminari, as we stood by eating cotton candy.
"Nice! Here we go, Aoyama!" Said Hagakure, using her warp refraction to bend Aoyama's laser!
"It curved!"
"It feels great, seeing it in action. Now I can yank light and warp it!" she cheered.
"GET THEM! TODAY IS JUDGMENT DAY!" Called the machines - only to be ambushed by Ashido and her max viscosity acid! Wrapped all around her body, she called "ACID MAN!" And tore through the robots like a force of nature.
"And that's -" she began
"How we get it done!" Hagakure finished.
"Fantastic! Let's give them a round of applause!" Said All Might.
"Those three did their work study with Equipped hero Yoroi Musha!"
"He has so many plans for attacking and defending that we had to come up with new moves and combos just to keep up!" Said Hagakure.
"Didja see my Acidman?" Ashido called to Kirishima. "That was my version of your unbreakable!" She grinned. Kirishima grinned back. "Cool!"
See, Mina? Am I making fun of YOU for your friend? No!
"Keep it going!" Said All Might. I want to see what each of you learned during your work studies."
Ojiro and Sato went next. "A flurry of moves and power to rear ahead!"
Jiro and Shoji - "Enhanced search techniques!"
Kaminari, Sero and Mineta. "Tight and efficient team moves.
Iida - "A looser approach!"
Koda - "Smooth communication!"
Tokoyami - "Improvement on all fronts!"
Kirishima - "Making baddies lose the will to fight real quick!"
Me and Tsu's turn. We ran into the fray, me using my new found tools to fly, toe grab gear, and show off before them all everything I'd learned. "Determination!"
Yaomomo went next. "Making Predictions and acting efficiently!"
Bakugou, Deku and Todoroki went after her. "Raising the bar!" "Speed!" "Experience!" They shouted, taking care of everything nice and fast.
"Nice, Bakugou! You conquered winter, huh?" Said Kirishima.
"Like hell I did, dummy! Those're just pinpoint blasts!"
"Todoroki, you're finally a hunk who's also quick!" Said HAgakure.
"Er, I still can't keep up with Endeavor."
"You figured out how to use it, Midoriya!" Said Mineta.
"Yup!"
"Watch it, you! That's starting to look a lot like my quirk!" Said Sero.
"Uraraka!" Deku called out to me.
"Hm?"
"I'm using it a lot better now," he told me. "Mmm-mmm!"
"So, thank you for that time!" He bowed.
"That time? When was that?" I laughed. "But seriously, that inspired me to start using these wires," I showed him. "They're kinda short, so I can't use em likee hero's tape, but still, see - I already got stronger cuz of that. Which means we helped lift each other up!" I raised my hand for him to fist bump.
"Thanks!" He said.
"It seems you've learned a lot out in the world," said All Might. "Iv'e recorded the class today so Aizawa can watch it later. Keep giving it your all at your work studies! Aiming ever higher."
