Izuku Midoriya had been having an awful day, the type of day that you get angry just thinking about it.

It hadn't started out as bad as it had become. He had been early to leave, and was well on his way to making it to school on time. But there had been a Villain attack, one involving a Villain with a transformation quirk, the Hero Death Arms had appeared, along with the debut of Kamue Woods, and Mount Lady, a female Hero that also had a Gigantification Quirk...and that was where his good morning had turned bad.

Because of the Villain attack, and his habit of taking notes on any new Quirks he happened to see, he had been late to class, which made the homeroom teacher lecture him in front of the class while the other students just laughed and ridiculed him from behind the man's back. Then, later in the day, his teacher had let slip of his intentions to attend UA High School, and his childhood friend/bully, Katsuki Bakugo, had not been happy about it.

Izuku and Katsuki had been friends ten years ago. But once Katsuki's Quirk had manifested, where he gained the power to secrete and detonate at will nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms to create powerful explosions, the teachers had started fawning over him and loading on the praise of how great he would be as a Hero. A powerful Quirk for a powerful Hero.

Needless to say... It had all gone straight to his head.

Izuku had been happy for his friend, of course, and hoped that his Quirk would just as cool as Katsuki's. But the universe seemed to be crueler than the boy ever could have imagined. Why? Because Izuku had been born with an extra joint in his toe that marked him as one of the shrinking number of Quirkless people on the planet.

For weeks Izuku tried to use his mother's Telekinesis, or try to see signs of his father's Tiger mutation quirk...but nothing worked.

But that wasn't what Katsuki had grown to hate about him. It was the fact that even though Izuku didn't have any powers, he still tried to be a Hero... And the boy took that as wrongly as one could take it.

His developing pride and arrogance had taken Izuku's kind and caring nature to a form of Izuku looking down on him even though he was far stronger than the freckled boy. That had turned his friendship into violent bullying for the next ten years as Katsuki had freely used his Quirk against other students, breaking several laws for underaged Quirk usage.

And when Izuku had tried to curb his attitude, that violence had been turned on him. Every time Izuku gotten a beaten, he felt angry but never enough to surpass his feelings of defeat and sadness, each time he represented that anger it just began to bottle up and was waiting to be let out any day of the week.

To return to the present, when Katsuki had heard that his former friend still intended to try for the UA exams, he had blown up...literally. He had blown up Izuku's desk, and then blown up Izuku's Hero Analysis for the Future, a notebook full of hand written notes on Quirks, potential weaknesses, uses and other such writings. Before carelessly tossing it out of the window, while advising him to take a leap from the school's roof while wishing for a Quirk in the next life.

That had been close to the final straw for Izuku...but as always, he endured it all. He was told by his mom from a very young age to never let anger control him, because he would hurt others and would regret it, as far as he knew this was because of his father not being a good role model. While he never went so far as to hit Inko, Izuku was told his father would lash out at every little thing and get into unnecessary fights because of his temper, maybe that was why Izuku never saw much of the man himself as he went to work overseas.

Thankfully his notebook had miraculously survived, save for a few scorches around the cover and the edges, and some nibbles from some koi since it had landed in their pond. Afterwards, his day had gotten slightly better...after another bad turn of luck.

While on his way home, passing beneath an overpass, Izuku had been attacked by a Villain whose Quirk turned his body into slime. The Villain had been making an attempt to take over his body, nearly suffocating him to death; which was probably his plan all along. Once again his anger was trying to come out as a survival instinct, even if Izuku couldn't do much against the villain as he struggles. Thankfully, just as Izuku had started losing consciousness, his savior had come in the form of the world's greatest Hero: All Might.

All Might had stayed in the area long enough to secure the Villain and revive him, and he had even autographed his notebook. But Izuku had desperately wanted more while the Hero had seemed to want to leave him, and latched onto his pants leg, ending up flying through the air with him as he jumped.

When they had landed, All Might had berated him for the risk he had taken, but Izuku didn't mind it all that much as it gave him a chance to ask his question. And so he poured his heart out, saying that he wished to be a great Hero like All Might, even though he was Quirkless.

That was when the best moment in his life...had turned into the worst. Not only did Izuku find out that his idol had begun to lose his power due to an injury from a frighteningly powerful Villain, but that wasn't the worst part...

"I'm sorry, young man...but without a quirk, I'm afraid you just can't become a hero." All Might's shoulders sank slightly as he told the boy the last thing he wanted to hear

Izuku looked at him, a mix of heartbreak and barely visible betrayal on his face. He just stood there, frozen... But his heart was beating hard in anger, not a normal one at that but something more alien to him, felt like it wanted to jump out of his chest and tell All Might how wrong he was. That Izuku could not only be a hero, but be a better hero than anyone else around, that he was so great everyone would want to be him.

It was almost a feral sense of confidence and masculinity wrapped up in anger was finally starting to break free from inside the boy, something he kept away for years that had finally gotten enough!Unknowingly Izuku got this from his father. It wasn't a quirk, in fact his father's part of the DNA had BEATEN the quirk gene out of him, making him quirkless because his father's DNA thought his mother's quirk was a sissy.

In truth... Izuku's Dad was in fact an Appoplexian, with his latent alien DNA wanting to be let out.

"I respect your eagerness, but sometimes you just have to be realistic." With that said, All Might had left him on the roof alone, unknowing just how close the boy had come to letting out his 'quirk'. Despite this boiling pot of anger, Izuku just accepted what All Might said as he still respected the number One Hero.

So he began walking home disappointed, dreams crushed and a rage kettle ready to explode from the inside that he was neglecting, suddenly an explosion erupted nearby, startling him. "What was that?"

In the distance he saw Mount. Lady coming at a slow jog, which meant that the situation was well in hand...only when Izuku He moved through the crowd near the chaos he found that the situation was utterly out of control.

"Dammit, we can't get close to him with all those explosions going off!" Death Arms shouted, he and Backdraft were running crowd control and fire control while Kamue Woods was rescuing civilians from the flames. "We have to wait for a Hero with the right Quirk!"

"He can't be serious, his body's sturdy enough to handle some serious damage, and his Arm Strengthening Quirk could easily lift steel bars of at least 3 tons" Izuku frowned at that, the boy huffed angrily. He turned his attention to Backdraft.

"My Quirk isn't suited for this sort of fight, all I can do is keep the fires from spreading!" Backdraft was speaking to Death Arms, the boy nodded, as he at least understood that, he does manipulate water and there is a fire going on.

"The hostage's quirk is too much for my quirk, I am out matched here." Kamue Woods was of the same opinion as Death Arms, practically stating that his Quirk wasn't right for the job, which Izuku thought was a pitiful excuse since his Quirk allowed him to turn his arms into branches, which could grab and pull a target... But what really got him was Mount. Lady when she arrived,

"Ack! My only weakness! I need at least a two lane street!" She said at the end of the street, Izuku nearly fell backwards to the ground because of that one, his rage beating against the metaphorical walls inside him.

"Just shrink down!" Izuku shouted at her, though she couldn't hear him over the chaos happening in front of them. He shook his head and finally took a look toward the Villain...and froze.

The Villain was a writhing mass of green slime with large eyes, wide mouth, and a struggling blond boy in its grasp. The very same Villain that All Might had saved him from only an hour ago!

"How did he get loose?!" He shouted before he remembered seeing All Might showing him how he had contained the Villain in a soda bottle...which he had stashed in his pants pocket...the same pocket that Izuku had latched onto!

"This...this is my fault..." the boy felt himself shaking right as another explosion went off, which made him take a closer look at the hostage. A familiar ashen-blond head was just barely visible in the slime. His former friend turned bully was struggling to free himself, his Quirk completely out of his control as the Sludge Villain was using it to keep the Heroes back.

At this sight, a fist came breaking through the walls inside of Izuku's very soul

"Kacchan!" Before Izuku even knew what he was doing he was already running down the disaster zone to save him.

"Who the hell is that kid? Get back here!" Death Arms shouted as he saw the young Midoriya move towards the villain

Another fist broke free as it began to crumble the barriers containing it

"You're going to get yourself killed!" A civilian spoke as the green haired boy was practically walking to his death, what was he thinking to do something like that?

The walls restraining his rage were getting broken at every insult, every comment doubting him. The breaking point was finally here, to make him fully accept all the emotions he had repressed for so long.

"Huh? It's you... think you can play hero? Don't make me laugh! Just die already!" The sludge villain insults Izuku as he isn't afraid of the boy and just wants him dead, not seeing any use of spending his time dealing with such a weakling of a kid.

Finally a raging roar exploded from the wall as it fully crumbles, letting the tiger out of its cage.

As he began to move towards Bakugou his pupils changed and so did most of his body shortly after, Izuku was growing in physical appearance as muscle practically exploded from within him, fur grew at an unprecedented rate as the boy's own skeleton reshaped itself. Now he had orange fur with dark green stripes around his body, much of his clothing becoming torn apart as he fully transformed

This surprised everyone watching from the pro heroes to the villain, even Bakugou was in disbelief. The skeletal form of All Might stunned at the sudden revelation, he had been watching from the sidelines all this time, regretting how he couldn't do anything due to his injury limiting the use of his quirk.

'The kid...' he remembered the talk on the roof top, All Might began to wonder about this sudden quirk awakening despite the boy's claim of being quirkless, but more importantly... Toshinori noticed that even when everyone else was standing by the sidelines, the kid moved to save the hostage, practically without thinking of anything other than he had to save the victim

"Let me tell you something, pile of sludge! You are going down the drain!" The now transformed Izuku shouted with a gruffy voice as he jumped into the air with his fist raised, each sprouting out a singular giant claw that he then promptly stabbed onto the villain's eyes.

"AAARGH!" The sludge villain screamed in pain as he tried to shake him off, but Izuku just headbutted him instead before taking out his claws for more repeated stabbing

"You think I'm going to let you get a hit? You think I'm going to fall dead on the floor? Guess what, you are the one who will be dropping dead. Because I am the Bane of your existence! In fact I'm the bane of every vi-" Izuku gets hit by the villains swinging arm as the tiger is sent flying through a burning stand, surprisingly he gets up practically unbothered by the crash or fire that is currently burning the remaining of his clothes

"You little shit!" The villain shouted as he turned to look at his attacker only to be met by Izuku going for a full wrestling move, having taken out a folding chair from the burning stand to bash the villain's head, it was surprisingly effective on stunning the criminal. His sludge is loose enough for Katsuki to catch his breath, before he locks onto Izuku

"Deku? When... How did you get a Quirk! Have you been lying this wh-"

"Let me tell you something Katsuki Bakugo, I hate your guts! There is barely a part of me that doesn't want to get payback from all those years of you belittling me and winning fights I should have totally won!" The Appoplexian boy told his old friend turned bully as he tried to punch the villain repeatedly to knock him out, it wasn't working at all but the ferocity of each slash and strength of them was enough to push back the villain's head a bit, enough so he couldn't properly restrain Izuku

"But when I say you here... You looked like you needed help" he said as a look of sincerity more so than anger was shown in his face, Bakugou didn't know how to reply aside from just clenching his fist and grinning his teeth, even so his eyes started to tear up. Either from the smoke or his own feelings of anger at the moment

"Now get out!" Izuku grabbed Katsuki and pulled him out of the sludge, before throwing him as close towards the heroes as he possibly could. Unfortunately the Sludge villain's focus turned on him as the criminal began to wrap around Izuku to try restraining him instead.

"Pathetic..." All Might mummers to himself in quiet while clinching his wound, steam coming out of him as he begins to buff up

"You are going to die for this! Stupid Kid!" The villain proclaimed as he tried to stop the tiger from even so much as moving which proved to be harder than expected thanks to the strength Izuku now possessed

"Let me tell you something swamp for brains! You think that I'm going to die here? The only thing getting-" a tentacle wrapped around his snout to force it shut

"I am tired of heroes! Couldn't you just let me do my thing?" The sludge angrily said as Izuku clearly tried to retort back as he was flexing his entire body to try moving out of this, Bakugou was looking at all of this and was sure if he should try to save Izuku or do as the heroes were shouting and go to safety.

"Pathetic" a voice spoke up which catches everyone's attention as All Might dashed into the scene, passing through Bakugou who looked at him with a vague look of shock, maybe even hope at the arrival of the number one hero.

"I'm truly pathetic, I told you what it needs to be a hero but failed to show it" All Might declared as he grabbed Izuku and lineup a punch, blood coming from his mouth as he was exerting himself past his time limit

"Damn you two!" The sludge lifts up his arm up in the arm to form it into a bigger one to attack the pro hero

"We pros always risk our lives, that's what makes us heroes!" His eye shined in power as clinched his fist and the very air pressure around him began to move with his punch.

"Detroit Smash!" Toshinori did an upper cut to the villain's jaw, one so strong it created a gust of wind so strong it could have been mistaken by a miniature tornado, everyone in the area protecting themselves as Izuku would have been caught up if he didn't sink his claws into the ground. Bakugou was blown back by the wind, but Kamui Woods was able to catch him safely.

As the dust cleared, only a few seconds after the attack, it began to rain. All Might's punch was so strong it changed the very weather, the crowd erupted at the hero's victory.

"Are you okay young Midoriya?" All Might extended his hand to help Izuku up, but the Appoplexian kid just huffed and got up by his own, crossing his arms.

"I had him where I wanted, one more second and Bane would have put him down! You didn't need to get involved!" Izuku spoke rather annoyed at the pro hero saving him twice from the same villain, turning around to see the crowd coming towards them "... But thanks, anyways"

Toshinori raises an eyebrow at this sudden shift in personality, but then again Izuku had practically transformed into a completely different person with this sudden quirk awakening of his 'you are an odd child, but in this newly formed ruff exterior there is... Someone worthy of my quirk deep inside'

Afterwards All Might was bombarded by the news as always, they were like vultures over the number one hero.

Meanwhile Izuku was getting a sermon from a few of the heroes and slight praise from the remaining ones, considering how easily he seemed to get irritated, you can tell how those sermons went. Not to mention he was offered a pair of pants since Izuku was fully commando after the fire burned his clothes, it was probably the only moment where his tough guy attitude stopped momentarily. Which seemed to be enough for him to revert back to plain old Izuku as he awkwardly puts it

During that time Bakugou was looking at him like Izuku was a complete stranger, which honestly was far considering how different he looked from the outside, but also in his personality.

Compared to him, Katsuki got only praise from the pros but it didn't help him feel better at how helpless he was back there, Bakugou was angry at Izuku for hiding his quirk but more about himself needing Deku to save him.

Eventually Izuku was let off with a warning and was right back on his way home. But all that was on his mind was the way he handled the whole thing, everything looked different now that he FINALLY got his quirk, it seems he could truly realize his dreams after all.

"I... Got my quirk, a transformation quirk. It felt so weird, almost like I was there but also someone else, never felt so angry in my whole life and looking back on the whole encounter... It could have gone better" the green haired boy chuckled to himself, it was a mixture of overwhelming happiness and a certain uncertainty on his power, on one side it was great to know he inherited a quirk.

On the other hand, Izuku didn't expect it to come with such a personality shift, he didn't expect that it came with the quirk, better to figure out the trigger and what exactly changes both physically but also mentally. He was kind of a loud mouth when transformed now that he remembered the whole thing more clearly, his mother would prob-

"Deku!" Katsuki shouted as he had come up to Izuku from behind, painting as he caught his breath.

"Kacchan...?" Izuku turned to his old friend, surprised but otherwise saying nothing.

"I never asked you for help! And you didn't help me! I was fine by myself." The blonde began as he tried to affirm to both his old friend but also himself that, Katsuki Bakugou didn't need to be saved by anyone.

"Got it?!" Bakugou spoke as Izuku didn't give much of a reaction, he wasn't as fearful as before so for the explosive teen to see his once whimp of a colleague stand his ground, it got him made.

"You... I don't know how you use a quirk back there, if you've been lying this whole time... But it doesn't matter you got that quirk from up your ass! Deep down you are the same useless Deku you have always been!" Bakugou spoke out his frustrations, this whole situation shouldn't have happened in the first place and he shouldn't have needed help from the Midoriya.

Izuku had transformed into his Appoplexian transformation but otherwise didn't say anything, this felt like he was insulting Katsuki!

"Are you trying to make me owe you?! Don't look down on me! We are going to settle this... You damn nerd!" He spoke that last part really loud as he left angrily stomping, a look at his hand as tiny explosions go off

"I should start calling him Firecracker, see how he likes it" Izuku huffed and left it at that, once they became students U.A is when he can really put Bakugou domn, he starts to go back to his house fo-

"I am here!" The number one hero slides into the street striking a pose as dust rises up from his speed

"All Might?! Why are you here? You were surrounded by reporters until just now..." The tiger kid shouted as the hero's arrival caught him completely off guard

"Getting away from them was a piece of cake. Why? Because I am All Mig—" he reverts back to his skeletal form spilling out a lot of blood before recomposing himself

"Young man. I come with thanks, a correction, and a suggestion." Toshinori stood back up right, looking at the kid who had honestly surprised him in many ways

"If you haven't been there... If you hadn't told me about your life... I would've turned into a guy in a bodysuit who was all talk." The pro hero admitted, even he felt like that title wouldn't be worthy anymore if he hadn't jumped in to stop the villain, it took Izuku entering the scene for him to realize that

"Thank you." All Might said, and that was enough for Izuku's feelings of anger to be subdued by another emotion, he transformed back to normal and awkwardly smiled

"Well, It was my fault in the first place. I got in the way of your work... and I said all those things, claiming myself quirkless just to get my quirk a few moments later... I feel so dumb now". Izuku comments as now that he unlocked his quirk, it felt wrong for him to have said all those things about being quirkless, if he had just practiced more or found how it got triggered earlier then maybe, this whole mess would never have happened.

"It was because it was none other than the timid and 'Quirkless' you at the scene... that I was able to act." All Might had to admit it was a shock to see him sudden develop this power, it wasn't unusual for late bummers to exist but Midoriya had to be the oldest one he ever heard of. Still it was impressive that for a moment, he jumped in to save someone despite not knowing he had the power to do so.

"Top heroes have stories about them from their school days. Most of their stories have one thing in common. Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think." Toshinori explained as he himself had this characteristic once, many heroes in the past did so and it was truly surprising seeing Midoriya be the only one in the scene to do so.

"That was true for you, too, wasn't it?" He asked, but All Might already knew the boy's answer.

"Yeah... I just got so angry at no one doing anything, when I saw that look of desperation... Something just snapped." Izuku's hand rolled up into a fist as he briefly transformed, but reverted back almost instantly. The Midoriya wasn't sure if that moment was the breaking point for him, but it seemed his temper had been the key all this time.

"Clearly, that was the catalyst to your quirk finally erupting from within" Toshinori comments as Izuku was practically a raging beast when transformed, anger seemed to be the way his tiger form is activated, hopefully they can work with this.

"Young man, you are worthy to inherit my power." Toshinori proclaimed as he extended his arms out as the wind picked up as leafs and petals flew by

"Inherit your power?" Izuku was confused by the hero's statement.

"Take my Quirk, One For All!" All Might extended his hand out to Midoriya before closing it tightly, the kid could almost see a light coming from inside the fist.

"With it, you can become a great hero and maybe even surpass me. Of course, you will need some training before-"

"Huh? Are you saying I'm too weak to use your quirk? Bane is stronger than any quirk! Anything your quirk can do, Bane can do better!" Izuku responds as he had transformed simply because he thought All Might was calling him a weakling when saying he would need training.

'It seems, I got my work cut out for me...' Toshinori awkwardly scratches the back of his head, finding out how to deal with these personality shifts would be the first step into making the promising Midoriya his successor.

Meanwhile as the news of the incident is being televised, Inko is watching it all back home as she finished getting the house in order. Upon seeing the large orange tiger angrily shouting at the reporters trying to talk with him, he simply says:

"Oh no"

[Author's notes]

Leave a review please, I want to see if this crack fic is worth writing more for. Favorite and follow to support the fic

Inspired by a reddit idea / prompt I found really funny but also interesting enough to try adapting it, not much changes before Izuku unlocks his Rath transformation (the post said he was called Bane because he is the bane of all villains, so I will be going with that) but I wonder what could happen in this not too serious fic.

You can guess why Inko isn't so happy to see Izuku finally getting his 'quirk' but that will be explored later on in the next chapter (if I find the motivation to write it)
