My Hero Academia: A Second Chance

Chapter 1: Chance of a Lifetime

A young man shot his eyes open and took in an enormous breath, his body felt weightless and his mind felt cloudy. As he tried to remember what had happened to him, he looked around and he appeared to be in a large open space surrounded completely by white. He seemed to be floating in this open space, trying to make sense of why he was here or what had happened to him. He was trying to remember how he ended up in this space but every time he tried his head just seemed to hurt. As he aimlessly floated in the open space, a mysterious door appeared in front of him. Not really having much of a choice or any other options, the young man moved his body forward and grabbed the door handle. With a pull, he opened the door and was greeted by a blinding light and a force that pulled him inside. When the pulling feeling came to a halt the young man was greeted by a large, open hallway with several doors lining the sides of the hall all exactly like the door that pulled him in.

The young man looked towards the center of the hall was an older man that looked like he was in his mid-40's with long platinum blonde that was pulled into a ponytail, tanned skin, deep green eyes, and was incredibly jacked. He wasn't as big as say The Rock but still incredibly muscular. He was dressed in a simple white button up shirt, matching pants, black belt and shoes, and a long white duster draped over his shoulders. He was sitting behind a long white desk that was usually used in an office along with computer and a filing cabinet next to him. The muscular man looked up from his computer and pinned the young man with a heavy look. The young man was pinned to his spot by the look the muscular man gave him, the glare itself contained so much pressure that the young man could feel it all the way to his bones despite his still weightless feeling.

But the muscular man soon gave a smile in the young man's direction, "Well don't just stand there young man, come closer and take a seat. I can answer the questions that you most certainly have." He said reaching into the filing cabinet beside him. The young man was shocked by the Muscular man's sudden friendly attitude but did what he said and walked forward to the desk. A simple white chair appeared in front of the young man and he took a seat. As the muscular man looked through the cabinet, the young man got a better look at the man across from him and realized he looked incredibly familiar based on the white coat he wore.

"Um, excuse me sir?" the young man asked.

The muscular man looked at the younger man, "Yes, what is it?" he said with a smile.

"Are you Alexion? Like the Alexion from the Dark-Hunter Series?" he asked.

The muscular man gave off a hearty laugh before addressing the young man, "You know, with the amount of people that I see on a daily basis you are one of the very few who is able to make that reference. To answer your question, no I am not that Alexion. But if it makes you more comfortable, feel free to call me that. I am actually what you would call a guide, I am the one who guides fallen souls to their determined destination." He said with a smile.

The young man nodded but went ram-rod stiff, "Wait, you said fallen souls. Does that mean that I'm…"

Alexion nodded as his face became solemn, "Yes, I am sorry to say that you have lost your life. This is the afterlife and I am the one to help you into the correct afterlife." He said kindly. The young man hung his head in despair, the fact that he was now dead was not what he expected or what he wanted. As the realization that his life had ended, he was now remembering that before he ended up in the afterlife his life back on Earth was just beginning. He just graduated from College and had gotten hired at one of the premier Japanese restaurants in his home state and if that wasn't bad enough he would now be unable to marry the woman he loved. His girlfriend of 8 years, who had been with him through all the high and low moments in his life, the woman that had loved him despite all his flaws, the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Now he would never get that chance.

As much as he didn't want to, the young man could feel the warm, salty tears begin to fall down his face. Just as his life had started to begin it was so quickly ended. This was not how he wanted his life to go, this was not how he wanted his life to end. The young man felt a strong hand on his shoulder causing him to look up and come face to face with Alexion who had a sympathetic smile on his face.

"Do not be afraid to cry young one. The life you had was a good one and despite its abrupt end it was still good. Do no regret the life you lived, be thankful for what your life had." He said. Alexion's words really hit the young man deeply, he was right even though his life was over he lived it to the best of his ability. Sure, there were times when he was lazy, times when he and his girlfriend had fights, times when he made his family incredibly angry and vice versa, but despite all that he loved his life. He found the joy of food and feeding people, he found happiness in watching Japanese Dramas and Anime, and he loved the times he spent with his family. His life was one he enjoyed, and he was not going to regret that.

The young man wiped the tears from his face and gave a nod and a smile to Alexion who gave him a smile back. Alexion went back over to his desk and grabbed a file from his cabinet.

"Alexion, how exactly did I die? I don't really remember how it happened." The young man asked.

Alexion opened the file and scanned it before looking towards the young man, "Quite an interesting death if I say so. You had just left a jewelry store after purchasing an engagement ring for your girlfriend." He started.

The young man smiled as the memories came back to him, "I remember that. It took me forever to find the right kind of ring that she wanted and when I couldn't, I had to get it special ordered." He said with a smile.

Alexion nodded, "Not many men would go through all that trouble." He said.

"She was worth it." The young man said.

"I can see that. After leaving the store, you bumped into your girlfriends' father. He was very shocked to see you but when he saw the ring you bought, he understood why you were out. The two of you then grabbed a bite at a local taqueria."

The young man nodded, "It was not easy for me to get his blessing for her hand in marriage. But we were able to understand that all we wanted was to make her happy, he gave me his blessing and we actually became quite close. He even helped me with my Spanish." He said.

Alexion frowned slightly as he read on, "Unfortunately that was when things went downhill. A group of thieves broke into the restaurant and started robbing everyone, once they came upon you, they saw the ring you bought and a bracelet around your future father-in-law's wrist."

The young man nodded and sighed, "I remember now. I wasn't ready to give up the ring and that bracelet was a memento of my girlfriends' departed mother. I knew that they were important to us and I didn't want the thieves to get their hands on them." He said.

Alexion smiled, "And boy did they not. You fought off all three thieves with impressive skills and had your future father-in-law was able to call the police. When they arrived, they arrested the thieves but one of them broke free and pulled out a knife. He rushed at the nearest person he saw, which was your future father-in-law, but you pulled him out of the way and took the blade for yourself. You sacrificed yourself so that so many more people could survive, a rather noble way to die." He said.

The young man smirked, "Considering I'm dead I'll take your word for it. What about my family and my girlfriend? How are they doing?" he asked.

"Your family is rather heartbroken, especially your mother. Your older brother is doing his best to hold her and your grandmother together, but he is devastated as well. Your girlfriend is no better, she is in shock and has been crying ever since she heard of your death. You touched a lot of people in your life, many of your friends and co-workers were at your funeral."

The young man smiled, "Well I don't know about that but all I can hope for is that everyone I care about will be able to move on and continue living their lives," he said with a smile, "So what happens to me now?" he asked.

Alexion typed on his computer for a minute before gaining a shocked look, "Well I'll be, this is rare." He said.

"What is it?" the young man asked.

Alexion smiled, "Well it seems that the higher ups were very impressed with how your life was both how it was lived and how it ended. So, they are giving you the opportunity to be reincarnated." He said happily.

The young man's eyes widened, "Seriously?!" he shouted.

Alexion laughed, "Yes, now you will not be able to reincarnate in your own world for certain reasons, but you can reincarnate into any other world you so choose."

"I get to choose?" the young man pointed at himself.

Alexion nodded, "Oh yes. After all, you did die kind of unexpectedly so it is the least we can do for you."

"Wow, that is incredibly generous. Whoever gave me this chance I say thank you." The young man said.

Alexion smiled and slid a clipboard with a paper attached to it towards the young man, "Write all the information for your new life on this sheet and we will get you started." He said. The young man nodded and took a hold of the clip board. When he looked at the form, it reminded him of an OC character building sheet for fanfiction. This was something that he understood and could easily make himself a new body. The first thing he had to choose was the world he wanted to be reborn into. The young man had to think hard about this as he would not get another chance like this again. After a few minutes of thought, he finally decided on where he wanted to go and how he wanted to be reborn. After putting all his new information, he handed his form back to Alexion who reviewed it.

Alexion nodded, "Very interesting, you really put a lot of detail into your new life. And I must say, that quirk you decided to have is quite unique." He said.

The young man sheepishly ribbed the back of his head, "Well in the series there really aren't a whole lot of elemental Quirks aside from a few characters and I have always had a thing for storms." He said.

Alexion nodded and typed on his computer once he was done, he turned back to the young man, "Well it looks like you are all set." He said.

The young man nodded, "Wow, I did not expect all this to happen but maybe I can leave a good impact on the Academia world. Maybe even make a new life for myself." He said.

Alexion nodded, "Its good you have that kind of attitude. I wish you the best of the luck in your new life," he said standing up, "All you need to do is head through the door on your right and your new life will begin." He said holding his hand out.

The young man stood up and clasped his hands with Alexion, "Thank you for all your help. Also, I don't know if you can do this or if it's the guy above you but could you please just make sure that my family and all my loved ones will be safe now that I'm gone?" he asks.

Alexion smiles at the young man, "I will do what I can." He said. The young man nodded his thanks and opened the door on his right. A bright light escaped from the door and made the young man's skin sting slightly from the energy that was pulsating. With a heavy sigh, the young man walked through the door to begin his life anew.

A Second Chance

The Yokohama General Hospital was a well-respected establishment for many individuals who have injured themselves or needed special facilities for various procedures. In one such operating room a young mother was in the midst of labor as she began to welcome her third child into the world. Her pained grunts echoed throughout the delivery room as she pushed with all the energy, she had to allow her child to enter the world.

"Come on honey push, push! You're doing a great job, you're almost there." The woman's husband encouraged as he stood by her side. The woman in labor took several deep breathes before pushing once more. Despite having two children already, due to the six-year difference from when her second child was born this was still a very painful process to go through.

"Okay, his head is coming out," the delivery doctor said as the woman pushed, "Okay and there are the shoulders. You are doing great ma'am. One more big push." She said as she cradled the newborn baby's head. The woman took a large breath in before turning to her husband, the two shared a nod and the woman gave one last might push. With a tired groan and a mighty push, the cries of a newborn child filled the room as a new life was brought into the world.

The doctor quickly cut the umbilical cord of the baby and cleaned him off before wrapping him in a blue colored blanket. The doctor stood up and handed the parents their new child.

"Congratulation, it's a boy." The doctor said as she passed the newborn baby off to his parents. The mother of the new baby boy cradled her new child in her arms as both her and her husband lovingly looked down at their new child as he cried out before opening his eyes to greet his new parents.

"He's beautiful." The mother said.

"Yes, he is." The father said as he kissed his wife.

"What shall we name him meu amor?" he asked his wife.

The mother looked at her newborn child who looked back at her with bright violet blue eyes that looked at her and his surroundings trying to get a feel for where he was. The new mother immediately felt a feeling of joy and immediate protectiveness as she did with her other two children when they were born. She would give her new child all the love he could need just as she does for his siblings and be there to lead him down the path that would make him the happiest and healthiest.

The mother smiled at her new child, "How about…"

A Second Chance

A few hours after the birth of his new child, the father, Juan Montgomery, gave his wife, Rino, a few moments of rest with their new son. As they rested, he decided to check on their two other children who were resting in the nearby waiting room with Rino's sister. Theodore moved out from the room where his wife had been moved to and walked over to the nearby waiting room. There taking up three chairs were his two kids and his sister-in-law. While his wife Rino was full Japanese, Juan himself was Brazilian American and that showed in his looks. He stood at around 6'6 and was had a fully muscled body from his time training in martial arts. His skin was a deep caramel color while his eyes were a vivid violet color. His long black hair hung down his back in dreadlocks, he was currently dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a long sleeved blue shirt that highlighted his muscled body and simple black boots were on his feet and on his wrist was a thick leather wristband with a mixture of green and blue Tourmaline. Theodore cut an impressive image, one that did not go unnoticed by some of the female nurses in the hospital, but he paid them no mind as he went over to his children.

Theodore went over his sister in law Haruka and gently shook her to get her to wake up. Her long violet colored hair hung loose around her shoulders as her vibrant blue eyes shot open to be greeted by her brother in law. Haruka and Rino were nearly identical in nature, same hair, eyes, and ivory skin. They both had wonderfully toned bodies and usually passed off as twins except for how they wore their hair, where Haruka usually always wore it down, Rino wore hers long but curled around the front of her body. Other than that, the only thing that separated them was their ages, Rino was 37 and Haruka was 33.

Haruka yawned and wiped her eyes before her senses came back to her and she pinned Theodore with a panicked look, "Juan-niisan, how is Onee-chan? Did anything happen?" she asked worriedly.

Juan gently patted her head and gave her a smile, "Don't worry Haruka. Rino is doing just fine she is resting with the baby now. Everything went perfectly." He said calming her down. Haruka breathed a sigh of relief before looking down at her niece and nephew who were still sound asleep. Juan's son Ryo was a spitting image of his father with the same colored skin and had his hair in cornrows. He did have his mother's eyes but his father's skin tone and despite only being 6 years old he was already showing incredible promise in Martial Arts. He was dressed in a grey hoodie, blue shirt, grey shorts, and sneakers. Ryo was sleeping in a sitting position while his younger sister and Theo's daughter Izumi rested on her older brother's shoulder. Izumi shared her mother's skin tone and hair color but had her father's eyes. She was dressed in a blue and yellow stripped one-piece pajama set as she was pulled out of her good night's sleep when Rino's water broke. Only a year younger than Ryo she too showed immense promise in martial arts.

Juan smiled at his kids and gently shook them to wake them up, the two kids slowly woke up before they both laid eyes on their father. Immediately remembering the current situation, the two siblings shot to their feet and began interrogating their father with questions.

"Tou-san what happened?"

"Is Kaa-san okay?"

"How is the baby?"

"Is it a boy or a girl?"

The two siblings spout off question after question before they eventually ran out of breath. Juan smiled at his kids before placing a hand on each of their shoulders.

"Kids, would you like to meet your new baby brother?" he asked them

The kid's eyes widened as they smiled, "Yes!" they shouted. Juan laughed at their reaction and looked over at Haruka who nodded and stood up smoothing out her black sweats and grey hoodie. The four family member walked from the waiting area into the room where Rino was. The older woman was awake and cradling her new son before her eyes fell on her family walking in.

Rino smiled as they entered, "Hi everyone," she said as Juan joined by her side, "I would like you all to meet Tatsuya. Tatsuya Montgomery." She said showing her children and sister the newest member of their family. Haruka gushed at the sight of her new nephew while Ryo and Izumi stood there a bit shocked at the sight of their new brother. His sleeping face looked so serene and innocent, like he didn't even know what tomorrow would bring for him.

Ryo went over to his new baby brother, "He's so tiny." He said quietly.

Izumi was smiling so much she didn't care that her face hurt, "I can't believe it. I'm a big sister. I'm a big sister." She said happily as she jumped around with an excited look on her face. Juan and Rino both smiled at their daughter who's reaction they expected but they were a bit surprised at how Ryo was taking it.

"Ryo, what's wrong sweetie?" Rino asked.

Ryo shook his head as he got out of his stupor, "It's just, Tatsuya looks so small and peaceful. Almost like he isn't worried about anything." He said. As he spoke Tatsuya opened his eyes and locked them with Ryo's who went ramrod stiff. But then the baby began to giggle at the sight of his brother. Tatsuya reached his arms out towards Ryo who stretched out his finger towards Tatsuya. The younger brother grabbed Ryo's finger with his tiny hands and even stuck the finger into his mouth and slowly teethed it.

Ryo laughed at his baby brother, at that moment he felt something inside him stir. It was a feeling he felt when Izumi was born but back then he paid it no mind but now that he has another younger sibling in his life he decided that he needed to become strong and be someone that could protect not just his siblings but all of his family.

Ryo pulled his finger back as Tatsuya looked glanced around the room taking in all the new sights, "Tou-san, Kaa-san, I've decided." He said getting everyone's attention.

Juan raised an eyebrow, "Decided what Ryo?" he asked.

Ryo looked at his parents, "I'm going to train hard and become stronger. I'm going to become a hero that can protect everyone in the family." He said with surprising resolve from someone so young.

As the family took in Ryo's words, the newest member of the Montgomery family silently took in his surroundings and the faces of his new family members.

'So, this is my new family? It looks like my new life is going to be an interesting one.' Tatsuya said in his mind. The reincarnation was complete, and this was the first start towards his new life in a new world with a new family. It was going to be one wild ride.

Hello everyone, Kuro no Okami 23 here with a new venture. I have always wanted to do an Iseaki SI story and I figured I would just take a leap and start one. The story will be how the protagonist, Tatsuya, maneuvers his new life as he grows up with his new family and how he interacts with the characters of My Hero Academia. Just as a heads up, I know his quirk sounds a little OP, but he will have some serious drawbacks as I write more.

Also, the members of the Montgomery family all have one aspect about them that they all share, Tatsuya included. Anyone who can figure it out gets an honorable mention next chapter. Until next time, stay safe, be well, and remember to like.

Hint: to find what they all have in common look at their first names.
