I'm back! I hope you have been enjoying the story so far. It's been fun for me to write :)

I did combine episodes 2 and 3 for this chapter because that's just what worked for the plot.

Warnings: None except for mild swearing.

Chapters Two/Three:

"Okay, so, the extermination is coming in six months instead of a year." Charlie said. "That's not an issue, right? We can handle this, right?"

"Yes, babe, we will." Vaggie said, wrapping an arm around Charlie reassuringly.

"Well, the rest of hell is freaking out." I said. "The public has gone absolutely wild." Texts from Vox were blowing up my phone, and I could see that Angel's phone was also vibrating like crazy with texts from Valentino.

"Well if sinners are desperate enough, maybe they'll come here and try to redeem themselves!" Charlie said.

"You really think that?" Angel said.

"Well, they aren't just going to come here of their own free will, are they-" An explosion rocked the hotel as another hole was blown into the side of the building.

"What in the world?" Charlie said. As we looked out of the newly formed hole, we saw a familiar looking ship hovering above the hotel.

"Oh great, not this guy again." I said.

"Show yourself, Alastor!" The snake demon that attacked us last week said, poking his head out of the ship. Alastor materialized in front of us, cane clutched in one hand.

"Who are you?" He said.

"Who am I? I am the great Sir Pentious, architect extraordinaire!" He hissed.

"Huh, you would have thought I'd heard of you if that was the case." Alastor said sarcastically.

"Oh hush. When I have slain you, the almighty Vees will finally see me as their equal!" Angel and I glanced at each other at the mention of the Vees.

Ah yes, the "almighty" Vees.

I should probably explain who they are.

Valentino, Vox, and Velvette owned a massive studio where they sold all sorts of products and…people to whoever had enough money. They were well-known throughout hell for their more sexual products, including selling the services of prostitutes and other pornstars (like Angel).

Valentino and Vox also happened to own Angel and I's souls. The Vees were awful overlords who controlled a good portion of hell. They hated other sinners, especially lesser sinners, so they would probably never see this "Sir Pentious" as their equal.

Alastor chuckled. "Oh, I think not." Before Sir Pentious could say a word, Alastor's magic was busy dismantling the ship. As the ship was broken into pieces, the snake demon fell out of the ship onto the ground. He lay there for a second before lunging out to grab a piece off of Alastor's coat.

That was a grave mistake on his part.

The snake demon went flying off the property to who-knows-where. Alastor examined his now-ripped coat.

"Oh, dear, well, this just won't do." He said. "I suppose I should go visit the tailor."

"Alastor, you can't just leave." Vaggie said. "We need your help."

"We need a wall." I said, pointing at the gaping hole.

"Ah, yes, of course. Wouldn't want my little 'project' falling into disrepair." He snapped his fingers, and a new wall was instantly put in place. Alastor then walked away, leaving us just standing there.

My phone started ringing, and I answered it with a sigh.

"Can you believe it? Alastor is back again!" Vox's outraged voice spat through my phone.

"Oh, really? I had no idea." I said.

"Don't sass me, Eltheia. I need you to spy on him for me."

"With what? Cameras don't work on him."

"You know that's not what I meant."

"I'm not helping you with this, okay? If he found out, he'd kill me. I'd prefer to stay alive."

"Eltheia, don't you-" I hung up, rolling my eyes. I'd pay for that later.

"What's up, Eltheia?" Angel said. I motioned to the door, not wanting Charlie or Vaggie to hear. We walked towards it as Charlie and Vaggie examined the new wall.

"Vox is pissed that Alastor is back." I said. "You know how much he hates him. He wanted me to spy on Alastor for him. Like I'm going to do that." I said. "He'd find out and then I'd be in even deeper shit."

"Good for you." Angel said, patting me on the back. "I'm glad you're standing up for yourself."

After an hour of attempting to recruit new sinners to the hotel, Charlie and Vaggie came back. Nobody had been interested.

"I'm not surprised, honestly." I said. "Most people down here don't seem to care too much about redemption." A sudden loud knock on the door startled us. Vaggie walked towards the door and opened it to reveal the same snake demon (I think his name was Sir Pentious?) that had attacked us earlier.

"HEY! What are you doing here!" Vaggie said, spear in hand.

"Um, I've come to see if I could stay here? I heard you're trying to, ah, help people?"

"Oh my gosh, yes!" Charlie said, running to the door. "Please, come in!"

"The fuck, Charlie?" Angel said. "He was trying to kill us two hours ago, and now you're letting him stay here?"

"Well, everyone deserves a second chance!"

"Eh fine. I give him a week, tops." Angel said with a shrug.

"Oh, I'm so excited to have our first real guest!" Charlie said as she brought Sir Pentious in.

"Um, excuse me, what the fuck are we then?" I said, gesturing to Angel and I.

"Well, um, you're more like our friends! You aren't really here to, um, actually redeem yourselves, so…" Charlie stammered out awkwardly.

That comment hurt more than Charlie thought.

"Come on, I have an activity planned!" Charlie said a few hours later, waving two pieces of paper around. She gave one to Angel and one to Sir Pentious. "It's a role play!"

"How fun." I said sarcastically, sitting down on the couch. The roleplay began, and even though I'm sure Charlie hadn't meant it, it was a direct mockery of the way Angel lived his life down in hell. I could tell this frustrated Angel, but he tried to keep it in check.

"Charlie, this script is kinda bad." I said.

"No, come on, it's educational!" She said, clearly oblivious.

The little "roleplay" finished, and Charlie jumped up, praising Sir Pentious for his wonderful performance. Angel stood there sadly before throwing the paper on the ground.

"I'm going to bed." He said before walking up the stairs.

"Angel, wait!" I said, running after him. I had no idea that Alastor's eyes watched me as I dashed into Angel's room.

Angel was sitting on his bed, phone in hand. I could see that the voicemail tab was open, and hundreds of unopened voicemails from Val were sitting there. Angel's finger hovered over the first one.

"Angel, no." I said, grabbing the phone out of his hand. "You know what those are going to say."

"I deserve it." Angel gritted out.

"No, you don't." I said, pulling out my own phone and showing him the unopened voicemails I had from Vox. "Look, it's the same for me. In one, he pretends to care about me and says he misses me, and in the next, he's yelling and calling me names. It's not going to make you feel any better to listen to those. Listen, I know that little "roleplay" hurt you. It was a direct jab towards your lifestyle. But don't beat yourself up about it, okay?" I looked at him with a soft smile on my face.

"You always know how to make me feel better." He said. "Thanks."

"No problem." I said. "You wanna go downstairs and get a drink?"

"That sounds nice." We walked out of Angel's room and down to the bar. Husk was nowhere to be seen, so I went behind the bar and poured Angel a glass of whiskey (I don't drink). I slid it over to Angel and was about to sit down next to him when I saw a flash of black flit past my vision.

"What was that?" Angel said, clearly seeing the same thing I had.

"I don't know." I got up, Angel following behind me, and we walked into the next room, opening the door to reveal Sir Pentious with a camera in his hand, attempting to hide it in the bookshelves. But not just any camera.

A VoxTech camera.

"What the hell?" I exclaimed. "You're working for the Vees!" The demon turned around, clearly exposed.

"I don't know what you're talking about, you whores." He spat out. Angel lunged at him, pinning him to the ground. They rolled around on the ground, before Sir Pentious turned, his eyes turning into spinning circles as he attempted to hypnotize Angel and I. Angel stumbled back towards me, discombobulated. I, on the other hand, stood there, frozen, as a memory flashed through my head.

"Get off of me! Vox, STOP!"

"Ha, but you like it."

"No, no, please!"

"Say you like it, NOW!"

"I-I-I like it…"

"Good girl…"

My breath got heavy as my hands began to shake. Angel looked over at me, a look of concern on his face.

"Eltheia, what-" I sprinted out of the room, brushing past Charlie and Vaggie, who were coming to see what the commotion was. I blindly ran up the stairs, not really seeing anything, until I plowed directly into someone. I fell to the ground, my vision blurry with tears as I tried to see what I had run into.

"My dear, what has upset you so?" Alastor's signature radio voice said above me.

"Oh, Alastor, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to run into you." I said, getting up off the floor quickly. Of course, of all people, I had to run into HIM.

"You're shaking. What happened?" He said.

"Nothing, I just, um, lost my balance." I said unconvincingly.

"If you insist." He said before walking away. I dashed into my room and collapsed on my bed, allowing the tears to flow freely down my face. Not just because I was scared by the memory, but because-

He had asked me what was wrong.

No one had ever asked me before.

No one had ever cared to ask me if I was okay.

So why him?
