I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to update. I also decided to end the first part. I thought that it was a good place to end and then continue on in a second part.
It has taken me forever to figure out how I wanted to continue. I believe ending it and then starting on part 2 will help me continue on.
Without further waiting, Defining a Hero
"Happy fourth," Percy muttered as he sat around the Ping Pong table in the Big House. They had an open Iris message going with Camp Jupiter as the Camp Half-Blood counselors and Justice League members that were connected to the gods sat in the rec room.
"What are we going to do?" Clarisse demanded. "We can't let this stand."
"We are not, which is why we are meeting. During our oath, we swore to serve on a League, but not the duration," Annabeth sighed. She felt that they had been arguing in circles, again.
"You leave," Reyna ordered. Many of the senate members nodded their heads in agreement. Frank and Hazel looked hesitant to agree with the rest of the senate.
"If we do, what are the consequences? I don't mean our oath. I mean, Batman and the rest of the Justice League know who we are. Batman has been to New Rome and his kids here," Percy sighed as he rubbed his hand down his face. How had things gotten so bad, so fast?
"You think they will come after us?" Piper asked the question on everyone mind.
"I don't think they will let a bunch of super powered kids run around without being in check," Nico sighed. Even though they had been fighting long before the Justice League and would continue long after the Justice League would end. The fight against monsters would never end.
Everyone turned to look at the Justice League members for confirmation.
Diana sighed before she stated, "I truly do not know what they will do. Paranoia can do many things."
"So, we open negotiations with the Justice League," Frank stated as he looked at everyone, "we treat them like this is a diplomatic mission. We lay out what we want and don't back down until we get something in exchange. They got four of the best from the younger generation and now lost them. They had some of the best from the older generation as well. We will not make the same mistake again. As far as we should be concerned, you fulfilled your oath."
Many nodded in agreement.
"If they don't take your terms?" Arthur asked simply.
"Then we walk and you all as well. Your loyalty is to the gods first," Annabeth stated. "We show them our strength. We did not ask for a war, but we will give them one if they threaten our family."
Before anyone could say anything else, several communicators beeped. Arthur answered his first. Batman's voice rang out, "There are several tsunami's happening at once around the world."
"Where?" Arthur demanded.
"New York City, New York, Natal, Brazil, and Perth, Australia," Batman stated.
"I'm near New York City," Arthur answered as he made eye contact with Percy. He would need the help from the demigods that had been league members. Arthur cut off communications before Batman could say anything else.
"No, we're not answering his call," Percy said stubbornly. He crossed his arms and glared at the man.
"Fine, you're not answering his call, but mine instead. People are going to die without assistance," Arthur argued. "They will need people with control over water."
"Percy," Annabeth stated simply.
Heaving a sigh, Percy stood up. "Arthur, go meet what ever heroes in New York. La'gann and Kaldur will go to Brazil. I'll handle Australia," Percy delegated.
"You still won't get there in time," Cassie spoke up. "We're to far from a Zeta Tube, or to fly."
"Watch and learn little sis," Thalia smirked as she watched her cousin.
"Father, please," Percy whispered before many that were a part of the meeting vanished.
Reyna sighed before she stated, "We'll reconvene once they are all back." She then swiped her hand through the Iris Message and dismissed those that were left.
Watchtower
"Are they coming?" Nightwing asked.
"He didn't say," Batman grunted as he moved towards the Zeta tubes. Batman had been tracking Aquaman's location when it disappeared an hour away from New York City.
The other heroes filed in so they could get to the cities that needed help. They had discussed who would go where before Batman made the call to Arthur and the others that had left the League with the demigods. Many were aware of how hard the battle would be if only Aquaman answered the call. They would need Lagoon Boy and Aqualad's help to really make a difference in holding back the water in the other cities.
Black Canary hesitated before she walked into the Zeta tube. She had not been able to get a hold of Oliver for a few days and was starting to worry.

Percy really wished that he stayed in bed. But no, they had to argue what to do with the Justice League. This had led to a five-hour debate and now Batman was calling them in to save people. Okay, Percy knew he was whining. He also knew that he would never be able to live with himself if he did not do anything to help. It was the principle of the matter. The Justice League had issues and were not fixing them but still wanted them to help. How was that fair?
So here he was, girlfriend and cousins showing up to Australia to fight a tsunami that should not be happening. The tsunami was happening in a a location that it was not supposed to be. In fact, Percy was sure all the tsunamis were not natural. Great, someone or something was messing with tectonic plates. Just what he wanted to deal with on the Fourth of July. Percy and the others were going to miss the fireworks if they did not hurry.
"Okay, let's get this over with," Percy sighed dramatically as he took off running towards the water. He trusted Annabeth and his cousins to deal with evacuating civilians. As he sunk in the water, Percy felt how wrong the currents were. The water, that did not like to be restrained and contained, was being forced into a tsunami unnaturally. Percy would have to deal with that knowledge later, but for now he had to release it and allow it to flow like it should.
Percy felt the pressure build inside of him as he fought for control of the water. Whoever was creating the tsunami knew what they were doing. He briefly wondered if another god was controlling the water but dismissed that idea. The water did not have the ancient power flowing through it as if a god had been behind it. If he had to guess, it was magic or technology of the newer kind causing this mess. But to be sure, he would ask his father after everything was sorted out.
Heaving a sigh, Percy finally felt the water break free from whatever had been controlling it in the form of a tsunami. It took way more power and time than he thought it should have. Percy was leaning more towards magic. He shook his head dismissively as he swam back to the surface and shore.
Walking back onto the beach, Percy almost dove back into the water. Annabeth was faster and caught him. She forced him to join them on the beach and 'talk' to the Justice League.
"What is the situation with the tsunami?" Diana asked as she ignored Superman and the others that she had been talking to.
"All good," Percy stated simply as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "We good here?"
"Let's go Kelphead," Thalia huffed as she refused to put away her bow, an arrow resting on the string.
"Wait! Who are you?" Superman demanded. He lost his patience dealing with the unknown, to him, teen.
"Cousin," Thalia smirked as if that explained everything.
Percy turned, with a smirk, to address Diana and asked, "How did evacuation go?"
"Smoothly, everyone was ushered to safety. The tsunami crested about two miles from shore. Cassie and Thalia were able to use the winds to push the water back out to sea, so nothing flooded," she explained
"You're slacking," Thalia snickered.
"Next time you get to dive into the water and wrestle for control over the water," Percy huffed.
"What do you mean, wrestle for control?" Martian Manhunter asked.
"You may want to look into this, something was controlling the water," Percy shrugged. He was not going to let them know that he was also going to look into the problem. Percy turned to walk away; he was over the conversation.
"Wait!" Hawkwoman shouted. She recognized that if the five left, nothing would change. The Justice League would lose members and potential allies.
The demigods paused to hear what the four would say.
"Will you meet with us?" Superman asked as he looked at Diana.
"It is not my place," Diana said as she stood beside her sisters, she sent a brief glance towards Percy.
"You are a founding member," Hawkman grit out.
"My allegiance lies with the gods and my family," she stated simply.
"Diana," Superman started, his tone slightly patronizing.
All five demigods bristled at his tone.
"You screwed up. You don't get to guilt trip her into coming back," Thalia shouted.
"Who are you to be able to speak for her?" Superman demanded. He wanted his friends back. Things had not been normal or right since Diana, Oliver, John, and Arthur had left with their apprentices.
"I am Thalia Grace! Daughter of Zeus! Lieutenant of Artemis!" Thalia shouted, electricity crackling around her. She didn't like her last name, but wasn't above dropping it so the superheroes would know her last name and connect her to her mother.
"We'll contact you with a time and place," Percy said as he eyed his cousin. He wanted to get out of here before Thalia started to fry people.
Without being asked, the five disappeared, courtesy of the gods.
Watchtower
"You let them go?" Jason demanded. He had used Bruce's code to get up to the Watchtower when he found out about the tsunamis. He made himself at home in the meeting room as he waited.
"Hood, leave," Batman grit out. He was not in the mood to deal with his son's attitude.
"No, they are my friends, and I want to know why," Jason demanded.
"We were not given a choice. They disappeared," Superman said. "Percy did say that they will reach out to us with a time and place for a meeting."
"So, how did everyone's locations go?" Flash asked as he drummed his fingers against the table. He was not happy with how his team had interacted with those that had shown up to help. Barry could see the Dinah was still upset with her encounter with Queen. Aqualad and Lagoon Boy had the tsunami well in hand with Oliver and John taking care of the civilians. After everyone had been evacuated, both Green Lanterns had just glared at each other. Neither giving an inch. Dinah had demanded to know why Oliver had not been contacting her. He could tell that the answer he gave was half hearted at best. And Dr. Fate was indifferent to the whole situation between the two group. He only offered help when Kaldur had stated something about the water being controlled by magic.
"A group showed up," Billy answered hesitantly as he looked at Batman.
"Jason showed up with Nico and Will," Dick told his Jason.
"Aquaman handled the tsunami as the others were evacuating civilians," Bruce answered.
"Percy said that he would be contacting us," Clark sighed. He was not looking forward to the conversations that were coming.
"When?" Jason demanded.
"He did not give us a time frame," J'onn said to the group.
Jason did not waste any time, he pulled out his phone and called Percy. "What the hell! … No, you don't get to ghost me and then act all innocent… I don't care about that! … Yes, that will work… Fuck, I'll tell B. Just don't do this again… You better." Jason hung up and looked around at everyone. They looked at him expectantly. "Percy said that they will meet with you July 10th at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah."
Sorry it has taken so long. My tablet keyboard broke so it has been going very slowly in typing. I also could not figure out who I wanted to confront who and if I was going to have everyone's interactions.
