"This is such madness! Didn't she assault some of our agents? And compromised our headquarters!" Supervisor Hyeong said in disbelief as White Fox persuaded the National Intelligence Service to recruit Ghost Spider.
"We all know it wasn't her doing, she was not even aware that Doctor Doom was tracking her" White Fox protested.
"…He was after this girl?! You knew he broke into the HQ for her?!" Another supervisor, Iyeon exclaimed. White Fox froze.
"I…suspected that until his clones tried to ambush Ghost Spider"
Supervisor Miseong curved his lip, "Suspicion or fact, this was still crucial information that you should not have kept from us"
"It is better she told us now than never" Director Jung spoke and Miseong turned his head to look at Ghost Spider who was sitting next to White Fox.
"Why should we trust her?"
Ghost Spider dragged a chuckle. "I am in the room, can I speak as well since I am also a person?"
"You should be showing us some respect!" Supervisor Yura glared. "How do we know you won't try to flee?"
"Because I…need…(zagged sighed) your protection" The spider reluctantly revealed. White Fox smiled smugly which Ghost Spider became annoyed with.
"I would be more relieved if this was a sign you are some kind of mole," Miseong said before deciding to ask more questions, "When you were first brought to us, you did not seem to understand Korean, how are you so fluent all of a sudden?"
White Fox also wanted to know, did Gwen had telepathic abilities. Was that why she hugged her so tightly? Ghost Spider just dragged a laugh with her low-key feminine voice and shook her head. "Can't say that"
"Am I speaking Korean too fast?"
"Like someone your age speaks that fast" Ghost Spider sneered and White Fox tried to prevent an argument when Miseong sputtered.
"Apologies, Ghost Spider has had a tough experience since her first appearance in Seoul" She turned to Ghost Spider with gritted teeth before looking back at her superiors. "But she is a good person, she saved some of your lieutenants even though she knew it would slow her down when she escaped"
"I have the footage to prove it" Gina added as she played the video on a screen that was well hidden on the wall.
"Whoa…that's next-level tech" Ghost Spider whistled and White Fox frowned at that. Everybody in the superhero line of work had screens like that.
"So she has a saviour streak, how does that explain why Doctor Doom is after her" Yura stated. "Tell us, what is attracting him to you?"
Ghost Spider breathed out deeply to say the answer, "I was on a mission to deal with vampires, Doctor Doom had something that could be used to eradicate them"
"Do you know what it is?" White Fox asked.
"Yes, it's a cosmic cube"
Everyone's eyes widened in utter shock and some were furious. "Doctor Doom has one of the most powerful items in the universe?"
"Had, paste tense 'had', and the reason why he doesn't have it anymore is because of me" Ghost Spider explained.
"You took it from him, where did you hide it?" White Fox asked and Ghost Spider averted her eyes from her.
"It's hidden somewhere that he'll never get it out of"
"Ghost Spider, we need that cube if it will eradicate vampires" Director Gina said in a serious tone, "It could save the country"
"I'll get it but we need to find the vampires right after"
"Those parasites could be anywhere" Yura thought.
"I know where they could be, I put a tracker on one of them"
Yongsan Brother's lair
"Look here! Forcing us to break into places is one thing but now you want us to attack a prison?!"
Salvan grabbed Yongsan in a chokehold. "Back in my day, my slaves knew their place well enough not to back chat" He tossed the dog shapeshifter aside.
Hadine walked to Salvan and cleared her throat, "Should I lead them? We cannot trust them to do this without our supervision"
Salvan hummed, "I grant you the permission, I have other matters to attend to in the meantime"
A few hours later, at the Seoul Prison center, some men were lining up for protocol. Then one inmate grew agitated. In Korean, he demanded answers from the doctor and then locked him in a chokehold. Some of the guards came running in to break up the assault until a random explosion was formed from the walls. One of the guards recognized one of the men as Kyungtae Kim, one of the Yongsan Brothers.
"Hands in the air Yongsan!" One guard barked and Kyungtae used his strength to knock out the guards. Hadine followed close behind.
"I got you in! Now what?" He yelled. Hadine noticed incoming guards and grinned. She took one of the Yongsan members and threw him straight at the group of incoming guards.
"Round up everyone in this room, the inmates included"
National Intelligence Service's New base
"So just like that?" Ghost Spider asked with a skeptical tone, "Your superiors are letting me tag along?"
"Yes," White Fox answered for the fifth time, "We have to get to the prison before at least one inmate escapes" She grabbed the spider by the gloved hand and pulled her into the nearest helicopter passenger seat.
"You know I can just swing there right?"
White Fox ignored that and they sat down on their seats. It only took a short while until it landed at the prison courtyard.
The two vigilantes used the rope down and once they landed, a few incoming inmates rushed to attack them. They were standing in the way of the large busted-up wall they could escape through.
"Time for a beat down" Ghost Spider collided her closed fist to her palm and White Fox stopped her.
"You are going to close that hole in the wall" White Fox ordered and Ghost Spider ran to the wall and formed a large thick web to seal off the hole. She ran back to the Kumiho to help but was amazed to see the white-haired heroin battle the inmates with a deadly yet graceful style. She somehow managed to fight with her hair down with ease.
Her spider sense rang and she quickly shot a web string at her to avoid incoming bullets. White Fox looked at the spider with a look of gratitude. "We need to get to the intruders, they might already be finding other ways to help the inmates escape"
The two girls headed for the interior of the building. Ghost Spider formed a web shield to block out incoming bullets. As they made it inside, a few agents were trying to keep inmates in check. White Fox used her fox ears to the sound of men screaming from the prison cell rooms.
"Help the agents with inmate control, I need to get to the other room"
"Second attempt at dominating me?" the spider quipped and could tell the fox was rolling her eyes with a corner of her lip curling in amusement. She ran to the room and Ghost Spider jumped to attack some of the enemies. She kicked, punched, and webbed some men in a cocoon. Her spider-sense rang from a man who just shot a bazooka bomb. Acting quickly, she redirected it with her web staring back at him. As he fell from the damaged upper floor, Ghost Spider webbed him to the wall.
She gasped at the sudden feeling of one of the vampires from the room that White Fox dashed to. Some of the agents came to the spider hero.
"We need to get to the staff rooms in case some employees of this faculty are badly injured," He said and Ghost Spider was still looking at the room White Fox went into. The agent frowned, "Did you not hear me? We need to get to the staff rooms!"
Ghost Spider snapped her head at him and was tempted to snap but remembered now was not the time to be selfish. "Fine, I can swing up there and—,"
"You have to go to the monitor room, there are buttons you can press that could open all the doors" The agent instructed.
Ghost Spider swung onto the nearest vent ripped out the closed latch and crawled in, as she walked in she noticed the monitor room and snuck in. "Hey buddy, mind if I use this room?" The man was about to alert the other men but the spider webbed his mouth shut and was webbed to the floor. Now Ghost Spider wasn't exactly the nerd who was a technological genius but she did recall what to do in the prison monitor room.
The doors to the staff rooms were opened and Ghost Spider immediately went back up the vents and straight to the room that she needed to be in.
Meanwhile, White Fox thought the men were being attacked by a Samjokgu but to her surprise, it was one of the vampires. She was too late to save the inmate who lost too much blood.
"So you are associated with the Yongsan Brothers, but why should they help you break into a prison of all places?"
"You are slightly smarter than I assumed" Hadine chuckled. "But not that smart if you think I am doing all this just to feed"
White Fox was suspicious and confused as Hadine snapped her fingers, summoning men to walk out of their cells. They did not seem like they were walking to the female vampire willingly. It was as if their bodies were being controlled by Hadine.
"So you infiltrated this institution for more slaves" The kumiho figured and Hadine clapped her hands sarcastically.
"Kill her my darklings!"
All the possessed inmates charged at White Fox who tried punching and kicking with more strength than outside. If she hurt them badly then they wouldn't have enough strength to get back up. Unfortunately, that plan failed as they kept attacking. If a person has become possessed by vampires then they are forced to find the vampire's foe until they die.
She needed to chase after Hadine but the inmates were becoming a challenge to get past. Then Ghost Spider jumped down from the vent and started webbing the inmates. The ones that were trying to pile on top of White Fox were trapped in web cocoons.
"One of those vampires are here" Ghost Spider informed as she punched two inmates who charged at White Fox.
"I know, the female one headed to that room" White Fox used her foot to kick an inmates face to the ground. "We need to go after her"
"Consider it done!" Ghost Spider agreed. "I'll distract them, go!" She said as she went to seal both doors on each side of the cell dorm. White Fox had already managed to get to Hadine who was headed to the next room. The cafeteria.
"You think you have succeeded?" Hadine spoke maliciously and White Fox narrowed her lenses. Her enhanced senses heard a loud noise. She moved out of the way from an incoming attack by none other than Kyungtae Kim, the Samjokgu.
"Hello fox pup" He snarled. White Fox just growled as her body started shifting into a silver furry figure.
"You should be embarrassed to be working for western creatures" She said as she grew larger into the form of a majestic blueish silver fox.
Ghost Spider shifted invisible and witnessed White Fox's transformation, "Cool" She breathed in surprise and admiration. Then she witnessed the two large canines battle. Hadine was spotted and about to shoot White Fox with something. Ghost Spider swung to her and tackled her down. The vampire kicked her off in the gut. She was about to turn and run out the door when the spider quickly pulled her back with her web string.
The door was webbed shut and Hadine snarled at Ghost Spider who ran to her and fought. As they fought, White Fox was having difficulty keeping the Samjokgu down. His enslaved stated was pushing him to not be defeated. She charged for his neck but he predicted that and sunk his teeth on the back of the fox's neck. She made a whimpering grunt and the dog moved ahead with his teeth still in her neck to Ghost Spider and Hadine.
This was his chance to get rid of his adversaries AND one of the two vampires enslaving him. Ghost Spider and Hadine noticed the two canines moving and realized they were about to be crushed.
She then noticed Hadine about to flee but Ghost Spider pinned her down and she hissed. "What are you doing? Do you not see we are about to be crushed?!"
Ghost Spider knew all right and in this moment, she didn't care. Ami could survive but Gwen couldn't. If it meant an end to one vampire threatening the multiverse then Gwen would die in relief. She had nothing to lose. She might not be much use in the next day. Her lenses closed to prepare for death until to Hadine's horror, the spider started glowing brightly, angelic. Then unexpectedly, a huge explosion happened which pushed the Kumiho and the Samjokgu off and into the next rooms.
The agents in other rooms managed to escape prison staff out of the institution in time before the explosion happened. The top room as well as some windows burst out in pieces. Gina Jung rushed in realizing White Fox and Ghost Spider were still inside.
They tried to get through the rubble and made it to the room when they noticed Kyungtae and White Fox laying unconscious. They were slowly shifting back into their human sized forms. Some agents searched around for Ghost Spider and found her.
Gina wasn't sure what just happened though one agent confirmed White Fox was still alive but Ghost Spider…
Much, much later, Ghost Spider was taken to the medical room with White Fox. Gina looked at the two girls with worry.
The spider passed her test she set up so she could prove she could be trusted. Though, it might have cost her, her life. That was what the hidden orb cameras revealed. This also made Gina realized there was so much about Ghost Spider she needed to know. She will have to make sure doctors and scientists can obtain as much information from her DNA.
A/N: A second time this happens. Yes this new power is similar to the recent comics but it is not electrical. I do not intend to make her spiderpowers exactly like Miles Morales except the invisible trait. I want Gwen's impulse to be more close to light essence, like angelic light but deadly.
