It's from the second fight. Previously it was Ochaco Versus Tsu and it seemed the frog gril of Class 1-a had her friends on the ropes, but Ochaco managed to turned the tide and win the fight. Now it's time for the multi-bodies student of Class 1-B Setsunna Tokage versus the multi-limbed student of Class 1-A, Mezo Shoji. And with that, let's start off with a bang.
A few minutes later Ochaco felt sensation beginning to return to her fingertips. She immediately began to flex them to help speed up the progress. Two minutes later Ochaco was able to mostly move her arms, and shortly afterwards was able to lift her legs up. Ochaco sat up and stretched to warm her limb up, she then swung her legs off the side of the bed. Taking a cautious step Ochaco felt her legs wobble a bit but she was about to stand on her own for the most part.
Seeing this Recovery Girl came over and did a final check up. After testing her eyes and muscle control and strength, Recovery Girl told Ochaco she was okay to head out on her own while giving her a few of her gummies to help recover her stamina. Ochaco popped all the gummies into her mouth at once and it felt like she had just taken a sip of extra-strength expresso.
After closing her eyes and taking a slow breath, Ochaoc looked over at Izuku. He didn't look any better than he had then when she had first arrived. As there wasn't much her presence was going to do, she walked over to the door and headed out to where her classmates were waiting for her.
As Ochaco walked down the hallway she came across Shoji walking around. Surprised that he wasn't preparing himself in the waiting room, she called out, "Hey Shoji.
Hearing his name Shoji turned around and smiled upon seeing Ochaco, "Oh Uraraka, I wasn't expecting to come across you. Good job winning your fight, Tsu said she thought you beat until the last few moments."'
Ochaco gave a nervous chuckle as she walked up to her classmate, "Yeah well, Tsu had me for most of the fight. I think I only won because both of us forgot what happens to a flying object when it loses its gravity." Now that she had a chance to think about it, she had to berate herself for not remembering the different applications of her quirk until the very end. There were plenty of ways Ochaco could have gotten about that fight. This was her first chance to properly use all the hard training she had gone through in the program.
"Is that what happened? Tsu told us about that, and said it felt like she had just bounded off of you.." Shoji said and Ochaco nodded, "Well I hope I get a chance to fight you. I heard Tokage is one of the recommended students that were placed in class 1-B."
Ochaco thought back to when Momo had mentioned Tokage and Rin were the other two recommended students besides herself and Todoroki. "Well good luck. I would give you a thumbs up but my hands are still a little numb from Tsu's mucus." Ochaco joked and was happy to hear a laugh from Shoji, "But hey still good luck."
"Thanks, Uraraka." Shoji then continued on his walk through the hallways. Ochaco watched as Shoji walked down the hall and then disappeared around the corner. With a sigh, Ochaco started walking back to 1-A's seats and arrived a few minutes before Shoji's fight.
"Hey." Ochaco said, announcing herself to her classmates. Everyone looked over at her and smiled, though she noticed Bakugo just looked her up and down before looking back at the arena. Tsuyu and Ilda waved her over and she walked over to them and sat down between them.
"How are you feeling?" Tsuyu asked, knowing just how effective her mucus was at paralyzing other people.
"I'm able to walk, so I said I'm doing alright." Ochaco said getting a slight headcock from Tsuyu. Ochaco tried to wave her concern away with, "Really I'm fine. Recovery Girl gave me an antidote, I should be back to a hundred perfect within a few minutes."
Tsuyu still looked at her friend with concern but decided to let go for now.
"And what about Midoriya? He didn't seem all that well after saving Shoji." Ilda asked, remembering how Izuku had looked on the jumbotron, all beaten up and bruised. Not to mention all the language being thrown at him, "I'm surprised he could even stand after everything he did to make sure his team moved ahead."
"So was I. No offense but Shoji is one of our largest classmates." Ochaco said and everyone voiced similar agreements, "All of his cuts and bruises were healed but he was still unconscious when I left. Best guess Recovery Girl's quirk is the cause of it.".
"Will he be awake in enough time for his fight?" Ilda asked but Ochaco gave a slow shake to show she didn't know and she didn't have high hopes.
"Then it might be this Mineta that fights against Monoma." Tsuyu said. Izuku wasn't the one to back down from a fight, a characteristic of his that Class 1-A had all seen. But if he didn't recover in enough time then he might be forced to forfeit.
"The nerd will be fine." Bakugo said in a strong voice, drawing everyone's attention to him, especially Tsuyu, Ilda and Ochaco as they were unaware he had been listening to their conversation, "Something you all should understand by now, is that Izuku isn't one to take unnecessary risk if he isn't willing to face the consequences. Even if he wakes up at the last second, he'll make sure he gets to the arena."
Then again Bakugo hadn't seen Izuku with injuries like that in a while and recovered quickly. Discounting Eri healing him, the last time Izuku was even remotely in the same condition was when he was shot by the yakuza and it took weeks for his shoulder to heal. And sure exhaustion might not seem as deadly, but Ochaco had said all of Izuku's cuts and bruises were gone, Meaning Recovery Girl had used her quirk. But Izuku was still unconscious, meaning Heal had taken what was left of Izuku's stamina and used it to heal those cuts and bruises. Leaving nothing left for the unseen injuries, meaning Izuku might be forced to forfeit.
"Why Bakugo, doth my ears deceive. I won't believe I've ever heard you speak with such admiration towards someone before." Mina said, then was happy to have Kirishima between her and Bakugo, as Bakugo looked at Mina with explosions going off in his eyes.
"I hope you're right Bakugo, because we've only got seven fights left and there is no telling how long they'll last." Ochaco said, as she looked back at the arena and leaned forward, holding her chin with her hands as she leaned on her knees.
Yet before the conversation could go any farther, Present Mic started the introduction for the next fight," She's our first recommend student to face off in the third round. And with her quirk she is able to mutli-task and face multiple opponents, it's Setsuna Tokage from Class 1-B. But will she be able to withstand her multi-limbed opponent? With each limb he is able to deliver fatal blows, from Class 1-A Mezo Shoji. Let's get this multi-fight started."
Shoji walked up the steps of his side of the arena, greeted with a strange sight. As Tokage was walking up her stairs she was slipping on an eye patch over her left eye. This confused Shoij to a great deal, with a small thought that since Tokage was a recommended student she might think she could win while being half blind. Shoji shook his head at that small thought, as Setsunna had never seemed that prideful. But he still would need to watch out for the trick with the eyepatch.
"Any words before we begin?" Midnight asked.
"So your classmate, Midoriya. He's got a lot of cameras on him." Tokage said as she shifted into a slight crouch
"After this, he won't be the only one," Shoji said, as he formed all of his limbs into fists and got ready to fight. Midnight brought his whip up and then with a crack of it started the match.
Shoji rushed forward, hoping to get in close and use his strength to end the fight quickly. As Shoji ran forward Tokage did nothing, she just stood there waiting. Undeterred by this Shoji continued forwards and when his opponent was in range he planted his feet against the ground. He then shifted his entire body weight to his right side and punched with all of his three right fists, all aimed for Tokage's midsection.
"And Shoji opens with a devastating triple punch, but Tokage doesn't look worried." Present Mic said. Just as Shoji was expecting his fists to make contact, he suddenly swung through open air. Looking down at his fist, it looked like they had gone through Tokage's midsection.
Tokage started to laugh as her upper half floated into the air, while her lower half darted to the side. Once she was out of Shoji's range her two halves reconnected as her feet slid to a stop. In the next moment she turned around and her arms out in front of her. Then with a yell her fists split from the rest of her body and rocketed towards Shoji. Who used his multiple arms to block the attack and then before Tokage could recall her arms Shoji grabbed ahold of one of them.
As Tokage reconnected her left hand, Shoji made sure to keep a tight grip on her right one, as he could feel it trying to break free. Shoji was about to charge Tokage again, this time double the fist coming out of his limb to break any escape she had planned. But before he could take a step he felt the hand in his grip loosen and then disappear.
Shoji looked down at the hand that was keeping Tokage's right hand from reconnecting, only to find that her hand had disappeared with small flecks of dust coming from his palm. With surprise Shoji looked over and saw Tokage lifting her right hand, revealing her newly regenerated right hand, "Good luck trying to hit me, even with your multiple arms, you're going to struggle. And with you, I just have a bigger target."
Tokage slightly crouched down and then rocketed towards Shoji. He was surprised by her speed and when he looked down she wasn't running, instead her feet hitting the ground. They were missing, leaving her to be hovering a few centimeters above the ground. She held her arm out in front of her again, but this time her forearms split into multiple pieces and launched themselves towards Shoji.
Shoji rolled to the side to dodge the initial wave, but as he got back onto his feet he saw the pieces of Tokage's arm curve towards him. Getting back on his feet Shoji used his multiple limp to deflect the projectiles. With his attention forwards Shoji missed Tokage splitting her leg off and sending it off to the side.
Shoji's only indication of an incoming attack was Tokage's shin hitting him in the back of the head. Caught off guard by this, Shoji stumbled forward, which gave Tokage the perfect chance to get in close. She then pushed herself into the air while bringing up her other leg and planting her knee into Shoji's chin.
"And Tokage used a barrage of her quirk to get in close and land two heavy blows against her largest opponent. But it doesn't seem the big guy is out of it yet."
After regaining his balance, Shoji leaned forward to try to use his larger frame and extra limbs to wrap Tokage in a bear hug. But as Tokage's leg stump hovered above the ground, she quickly reformed her arms and other leg, then shot her fist into Shoji's chest. Yet instead of trying Shoji back, Tokage leveraged herself against Shoji to push her back and out of Shoji's range.
Seeing this Shoji turned his leaning form into a sprint and tried to chase Tokage. As Tokage hadn't reattached her feet she stumbled a bit as she slowed down. This gave Shoji a chance to catch and try to shoulder-check her like a hockey player. Yet just as Shoji was about to collide with Tokage, Class 1-B's recommended student further activated her quirk.
Tokage's body split into pieces, each moving interdependent as they got out of the way. Seeing this Shoji slowed down as hard as he could, his feet sliding across the cement floor, "Aw and you were so close with that one." Tokage jest.
Hearing Tokage was right behind him, Shoji spun around as fast as he could without losing his balance. Coming around he saw Tokage reforming her body back into one piece. Using the momentum of his abrupt turn Shoji stuck out all three left arms, even morphing his hands into another set of arms to make sure he didn't miss, "I don't done yet."
Just as Tokage finished with reattaching her body back into one piece she was hit in the side by a massive swipe from Shoji that sent her flying to the side of the arena.
"Oh, it seemed Tokage had successfully dodged Shoji's charge but after showing some fancy footwork he managed to land a massive hit on Tokage. And it seems to have sent her flying for the boundary line."
Shoji slowed down through his followthrough and looked over his shoulder to see Tokage flying towards the white boundary line. It seemed she would be thrown over it, making Shoji the winner but then at the last second Tokage split his body into pieces. Using an ability of her quirk Tokage killed her momentum, stopping her mere millimeters from flying out of bounds. The Jumobtron quickly switched to a view to show none of Tokage had crossed the line.
"Setsunna Tokage is still in play." Midnight announced.
Tokage quickly dropped back to the floor and turned around as her body reformed. As her head reattached to her neck, Tokage was breathing heavily but as she raised her chin she gained a cocky grin. She then held out her right arm in front of her, even detaching to put her fist closer to Shoji. Then she extended her index and middle fingers to do a gesture that told Shoji to come at her again, "Come on, is that the best you can do."
With the taunt Shoji charged Tokage again, getting in close and he transformed his limb into double fists. This time he was going to go more for speed than damage, with any luck he would be able to catch her off guard. Once Tokage was in range Shoji threw the first punch, quickly followed by the second. While Tokage had stepped to the side of the first, it put her in line for the second punch and she had to split her body to make the attack miss.
Tokage had to rely on her reflexes for a bit, as her mind worked to try and predict Shoji's attack. Yet his attack pattern had switched, instead of going for massive punches with one total side, each of Shoji's twelve arms were attacking on their own pattern. This made it difficult for Tokage to know when and where to split her body and forced to slowly back away from Shoji.
Tokage quickly picked up that Shoji had changed his attack style. Instead of punching all of his limbs from one side all at once, each individual of Shoji's six fists was attacking on their own, making it difficult for Tokage to know when and where to split her body. This forced her to slowly back away from Shoji so as not to get hit. After a minute of dodging one of Shoji's attacks managed to clip Tokage in the chest, sending her chest and head back.
After stopping herself Tokage looked over her shoulder and saw she was once again dangerously close to the edge. And it was clear, even if her body didn't hit the ground, if one of boyd parts went over the line she would be counted out of bounds.
"You might be able to handle multiple opponents, but only if you have time to think between moves. With my speed, you aren't able to think and plan, because you are only able to focus on dodging." Shoji commented as he took a pause before rushing in again and changing his attack pattern. He had to keep Tokage on the ropes, otherwise, she would find the chance to escape and he would lose all of his momentum.
"That's true and with how big you are, my field of force can become narrow. Luckily I can get a different perspective." Tokage said as she closed her right eye. Shoji chuckled at this stupid move and wined up a massive attack, yet when he unleashed it Tokage effortlessly dodged it, almost as if she was a video game character doing a quick time event. This gave her the chance to drop down and slip between Shoji's legs to get behind him.
Like before Shoji was quick on his feet and attacked Tokage from behind, but she dived and rolled out of the way of every single attack. Tokage then dove around, then used her quirk to break into pieces before reforming facing the other way. Shoji couldn't believe it, it was like Tokage had seen each of his attacks coming, "How?"
Shoji's question was answered as Tokage stood up from her crotch and he saw that Tokage's eye patch had slipped off. Yet the missing eye patch did not reveal her left eye, but a black spot around her eye. Shoji almost lost his lunch as the sight made him momentarily forget what Tokage's quirk was.
"Damn it, it fell off." Tokage said still not opening her right eye. As Shoji continued to stay frozen, she knelt down and appeared to have to feel around a bit to feel her eye patch.
"Tokage manages to dodge Shoji's assaults, but how did she see all of them coming?" Present mic asked.
"Look at her left eye." Mr Aizawa pointed out.
"It seemed Tokage's eye patch had fallen off. Ay, why is her left eye missing? It's almost like a shot from a horror movie, just missing the blood." Present Mic said then was hit upside the head by Mr Aizawa, as that was not a comment that needed to be made on national television,
"Tokage was about to see Shoji's attack coming, it just wasn't from a first person view." Mr Aizawa pointed out and got a confused look from his co-commentator so he explained further, "Did you not notice the eye floating above the stadium."
Then as if all pulled by strings, everyone looked up and saw an eye floating in the air, the same shape as the black hole hidden by Tokage's eye patch.
"Thanks a lot for revealing that Aizawa." Tokage siad with a shake of her head then looked at Shoji, "It's a small skill that I got from playing video games. I can easily switch from first person to third person view depending on which eye I open. I had the eye patch on so you won't suspect anything."
"Wait, if you could see, then why did you struggle to grab your eye patch?" Shoji asked as he punched Tokage. Instead of only dodging a few centimeters, Tokage made sure she was far away from Shoji's fist.
"My depth perception is a little off when I switch. It still feels like my eye is attached to my face, despite me knowing it's a good distance away. So small movements get crossed in my brain, but I've gotten better as I practice it. You can't imagine the headaches I got when I first started doing this." Tokaga said, as she split her body and dodged Shoji's multiple punches. Shoji tried to grab any piece he could, but whenever one of his hands began to close the body part would split further and escape.
Now with her being able to handle Shoji's multi-attacks she wasn't forced to stay on the defense and could switch to offense.
Using her quirk, Tokage quickly surrounded Shoji's body and began to attack him relentlessly from all angles. This forced Shoji to stop attacking and focus on defending himself. Using his multiple limbs he covered his head and chest, but was unable to do anything about his back and legs. So Tokage focused on Shoji's leg and managed to bring him to his knees, and with that Shoji tried to bat Tokage's body away, but by using her eyes she was able to easily dodge any of his attacks.
Shoji knew if he uncovered his face, Tokage would begin to attack it and with the darkness his arms created, he transformed one of his limbs into an eye to try and keep Tokage in his sight. But then he heard something snapping right in front of his face. Opening his normal eyes, he saw one of Tokage's hands had managed to slip in under his cover. It snapped once, then made a small wave. Shoji cocked his head a bit, then the hand dropped down to his stomach as it closed into a tight fight.
As the fist began to rocket back up, Shoji realized what was about to happen. He began to open his arm up and take a step back to dodge the incoming attack, yet all that did was give Tokage a perfect view as her fist rammed into Shoji's chin and knocked him back. Shoji stumbled back to keep his balance, as his arm went wide. This allowed Tokage to reform and launch her body forward by disconnecting her foot and shooting the rest of her body forward.
Tokage landed a heavy kick into Shoji's chest, then before she could hit the ground, split her body into as many pieces as she could. Then in a similar fashion to Shoji's multiple-limbed attack, Tokage did not give him time to think as she began to attack. Using her quirk to hit Shoji 10 times a second. To Shoji, the attacks were like a blur, hard to tell when one stopped and a different one started. Worse, each hit felt like a punch. With him being off balance, he slowly worked to the edge of the area, where Tokage's upper torso began to charge at him. Only for the rest of her body to join back together as she rammed her shoulder into his gut.
As Shoji began to fall over the edge, in the same fashion as the King of the Hill event, he reached forward and grabbed ahold of Tokage's hand. She just smiled as she said, "Long live the king." She then separated her left hand from the rest of her body, allowing Shoji to finish falling and land on the grass below the arena.
"Mezo Shoji has fallen out of bounds, Setsunna Tokage moves on and will face Ochaco Uraraka in the next round." Present Mic said.
From the grass area, Shoji looked over and saw Tokage reform her body then celebrate a bit. He had to give to her, she had fought a lot better than he had. She had obviously trained with her quirk and was able to use it in more situations. There were moments he was sure he was winning, but they were far between and didn't last long, as Tokage quickly gave control of the situation.
Even when Shoji had her overwhelmed, Tokage had found a way to escape. Her combat prowess and level of control over her quirk had won her the fight. And her next opponent was Ochaco. And from the first-hand experience he had just gotten, Shoji knew Ochaco was going to struggle to get past the second round, even with all the extra training she had been doing with Izuku.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. How does it feel to be beaten by the 1-B? You thought you were the superior class, but it is we who are the superior class. And we will continue to prove such, it will be our class who wins this festival and when we do the spotlight will rightfully be on us." Monoma laughed, drawing all of 1-A's attention to him as he stood over the wall that separated their seating area, "I mean, your classmate had no chance…"
Monoma was cut off then he disappeared from view. A second later, Kendo appeared and she left up an apologetic hand, "Sorry about him. He got up before I noticed him. By the way, how is your class president? Midoriya, right?"
"Still unconscious." Ochaco answered.
"Ha,ha,ha victory is already mine. He will be forced to forfeit and that general ed student will be wise to surrender to me." Monoma said. Kendo raises her fist up, coming into view of 1-A, all of them noticing it as it grew a bit in size, "Do you want me to hit you again."
Monoma didn't respond, so Kendo lowered her hand and turned and focused on Ochaco, "Awase wanted me to tell you, he's sorry for the King of Hill. We all are. The plan was for Awase to fuse you two to the hill. We thought you and Midoriya would give up after realizing you didn't have a chance to escape. We didn't realize how important all of this was to your class president, we didn't know he was willing to go that far."
"I did give up, your plan worked against me. Midoriya, well he really doesn't know when to call it quits." Ochaco said and saw Kendo's eyes become more apologetic, "But that's what makes him, him. It's even saved all of our butts. So even if he has his entire forearm wielded to the hill, he doesn't give up. He'll continue to fight, it's really thanks to him Shoji and I were even able to make it to the third event."
Ochaco then looked over at Kendo, "So a word of warning, that's who Monoma is going to face."
Kendo gave a nod then began to step away but then paused and turned back to class 1-A, "Where's the short purple hair student." As she hadn't seen him in Class 1-A's seat.
Ochaco's aura went a little dark at being reminded of that little pervert. She turned and looked down at the arena, something she shouldn't be looking forward to but was; was seeing Mineta being taught a lesson, "We don't talk about him."
"He's not one of yours?" Kendo asked, confused as she thought all of 1-A would team with themselves."
"No, he must be from General's. We've never had a student like him in our class." Momo said, recalling the short student Shoji, Ochaco and Izuku had teamed up with during the King of the Hill. Momo's answer seemed to satisfy Kendo, who disappeared to handle Monoma, leaving everyone to look at Ochaco, surprised by her dark aura, "Do you have something against this student?"
Ochaco didn't answer for a bit when she did, she said only seven words, "You remember the first day back after the USJ, that pervert that stopped us at the door during heroic class."
After a few moments, the smiles of all the girls from class 1-A disappeared and faces of grim acknowledgement appeared on their faces. This confused all of their friends, "Wait you mean the student that Midoriya pulled his quirk…" Denki quieted down as Ochaco shot a glare at him, answering his unfinished question.
"Wait Minoru Mineta, isn't that the student Midoriya is fighting first?" Kirishima asked and Ochaco glared at him, "Well, that general ed student is about to have his own funeral."
As the girl stew after the thought of the pervert from General's, some of the boys thought whether they should fear the girl, or worry that Izuku would go overboard in his fight.
"If Mina Ashido and Denki Kaminari could please report to their waiting room, the next match will be in 15 minutes." Midnight announced Denki and Mina looked at each other with a smile. They stood up in sync and began walking to the stairs, with Mina behind Denki she couldn't resist the temptation. As he reached the stairs, she jumped on his back and tried to bring him down, but he managed to stay up on his feet. Denki reached behind himself and tried to pull Mina off, but she managed to flip herself up into the air. As she came down, she put Denki in a headlock, forcing him down as she landed on her feet.
"Well I think we all know how this fight is going to go." Kirishima said.
"Hey, that's not fair, she attacked me from behind." Denki said, as he tried to wiggle out of Mina's headlock but couldn't until she released him, " And I didn't even use my quirk."
"Neither did I," Mina said, as she hopped up the stairs like she was walking on hot coal, chuckling to herself the whole way. Denki shook his head as he followed after her to go to the waiting room. But less than 5 seconds after Denki disappeared, a large thunk could be heard coming from the hallway and Denki screamed, "Will you stop attacking me."
That got a chuckle from most of the students in 1-A while Jirou said, "There is not a single brain cell between those two."
"There is, but I'm usually the one holding it," Kirishima said, then continued to laugh. Most of Class 1-A continued to laugh at the expense of two of their classmates, all the while Momo tried not to laugh and Ilda tried to get them to stop. Yet when he started waving his arms robotically the joke began more targeted at him.
I have to say reading the fight between Tokage and Shoji was a good mix between fun and challenging. As I don't have much experience writing how Tokage fights, but I had fun improving a bit and trying to come up with a fight style that fits her unique quirks. And if you're struggling to imagine how Tokage launch different limbs at Shoji, like her rocket fist. I based it off how gum-gum pistol work from One Piece. If that doesn't make sense then Mega Man's rocket fist.
Next time it's Mina Ashido versus Denki Kaminari. Acid versus electricity. The way I wrote the fight really came from a question I had when writing. "How does Electricity react with Acid?" and I found some really interesting science articles that study the different ways Electricity reacts with different pH levels of acid.
