welcome to the newest chapter of my take on '102 Dalmatians' for if it had been animated before becoming a live-action feature film. yes, I'm still aware that the characters are different than that of the live-action feature that the old film was in the first place. anyway, this technically and chronologically twenty-sixth chapter of my take on '102 Dalmatians' is a good thousand-forty-one words worth of storyline long. the storyline in this technically and chronologically twenty-sixth chapter doesn't include this explanatory headnote, right here, nor does it include the mandatory disclaimer that follows this explanatory headnote. it even excludes all the author's notes written by yours truly hidden within the storyline. speaking of which, it's already time for the obligatory disclaimer.
disclamation: I don't own '102 Dalmatians' in any way, shape, or form. I mean, I own it on DVD, but I was only seven when it first appeared in theaters, at all. so, it wouldn't even be natural for me to have owned '102 Dalmatians', at all. I also don't own either of the '101 Dalmatians' movies. I was but two or three years old when the live action remake came out, and when the original animated classic of '101 Dalmatians' came to theaters, I didn't even exist, yet. all these films are owned by the Walt Disney Movie Productions Company and by Dodie Smith.
Meanwhile at the Sefton apartment, Shamrock, Speckle Eye and Oddball had busied themselves with play and teething when Oddball started to need a break from her rough and tumble brothers. So, the unspotted dalmatian puppy raced over to Kimberly's wardrobe which doubled as the spotless dalmatian pup's home as a newborn. Kim had busied herself with trying to get ready for her date with Raymond Millerson that same night.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Too dressy?
Meanwhile, the dalmatian mother, Piper, spoke to Kim in her own canid tongue.
Piper: It's a smart color with that shade of grey, but you're right. It is too dressy.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Too dressy.
Then, Kim got out another outfit for her date.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): Too stuffy.
The chocolate brunette pulled forth another outfit from her wardrobe.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): Too small.
Since her second other outfit was too small, Kim pulled out another outfit from her wardrobe.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): Too blue. Piper, I've got nothing to wear! Please, help me!
Piper spoke to Kim in her own canid tongue as she went over to the wardrobe, herself.
Piper: There may just be something you could wear in what you'd previously gotten me.
Of course, the outfit of which Piper spoke in her own canid tongue to Kim was something that did not even go as far down as Kim, herself, would have really wanted it to in the first place. It was not even a very solid outfit for her first date since her days in high school.
Kim's high school days were the best of her life. Rodger Radcliffe, Patch's father's owner, was even a friend of Kim's during her time in high school. But then, he married Anita Dearly because of Pongo falling in love with Perdita at first sight.
A/N: I know just how Kim feels, and not just because I named her after myself. I also didn't have a lot of lasting friendships growing up. even high school was too rough for me.
It was even an old dress that she wore as a wedding attendant for her friend, Rodger's, wedding to Anita. The only real problem Kim had with it was just how transparent the dress had even gotten on the bodice since that wedding.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Oh, Piper, are you sure? It's completely see-through. Look.
Kim was right. The skirt was still intact since that wedding at least, but the bodice had gotten quite worn down to being so transparent that, it could have easily been seen through by her date. Piper spoke to Kim about the dress in her own canid tongue as the dalmatian mother tried to talk the chocolate brunette into wearing the outfit in spite of the see-through wornness of the dress's bodice. The dalmatian mother spoke to the chocolate brunette in her own canid tongue very nervously, however, as though Piper tried to soften Kim's uncomfortable blow.
Piper: It works, Kimberly. You have the right kind of torso to pull it off. It may not be the most comfortable for you, but you'd definitely kill in it.
Then, Oddball, ever the clever, helpful pup even without her spots, got out something which could have easily helped Kim with her date night outfit dilemma. The unspotted dalmatian pup got out a pink sweater vest to wear over the bodice so the chocolate brunette could cover herself up.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Oddball. Yeah, that's a sweater vest. But_
That was when the truth behind Oddball's strategy for the dress finally dawned on Kim.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): What a fantastic idea! Thank you!
Kim then gave Oddball several kisses to her puppy cheek in gratitude toward the spotless dalmatian pup.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): Thanks, Oddball.
Piper, herself, already knew exactly what her unspotted daughter had in mind for the sweater vest that had found its way into the dog bed in the wardrobe.
Piper: That's my girl. You're a true genius, Oddball. I applaud you, daughter.
Patch stood up, himself, to congratulate his unspotted daughter on her feat toward helping the owner the entire family shared.
Patch: You did me proud, too, Oddball.
Then, the dalmatian father went over to his sons and looked at both Shamrock and Speckle Eye with a saddened sense of disappointment in his eyes.
Patch (continued): Why can't you be more like Oddball, Shamrock? You two, Speckle Eye? I just don't understand why you two can't be as helpful as your sister.
Of course, then, Oddball started to look at herself in the mirror.
Oddball: What I don't get about helping Kim out with her outfit for the date, mum and dad, is how that selfless act didn't earn me any of my spots.
By then, Patch and Piper finally got why Oddball had really helped Kim decide on what to do about her outfit for her date.
Patch: Oh, I get it, now.
Piper: I should've known this was all about finding a way to obtain her spots.
Of course, Oddball, herself, combatted her parents surprise shame in her reason for helping Kim with her date outfit dilemma with a plea for them to be more supportive of what she wanted so much.
Oddball: Mum, dad, why can't you two understand that getting my spots is my dream?
Patch and his foster sister turned marriage mate, Piper, of course, understood their unspotted daughter, Oddball's, dream very well. They only needed to get her to understand that doing something for someone hoping to always get something big out of it was not what a good dog would have done.
Piper: Oddball, we do understand your dream to gain your spots. We also support your dream to gain your spots.
Patch: And we're very proud that you were smart enough to arrive at the conclusion that you may just need to earn your spots if you want them so much. But you really need to understand, yourself, that doing something good just because you want something in return for your actions is a very wrong reason to do anything good, helpful or even heroic. I should know that better than any other puppy in the Pongo Clan.
A/N: just a note-worthy mention, right here, but I am speaking of all that went on in 'Patch's London Adventure'. in this version of '102 Dalmatians', the storyline for 'Patch's London Adventure' really happened at some point or another before all this. Patch is trying to prevent his daughter from doing anything good for the same reason he did in that film. you all know which reason I mean, solely for recognition's sake.
Oddball then spoke back to her parents in their own shared canid tongue about her realization.
Oddball: I'm sorry, mum, dad. I want my spots more than anything, but I never realized how selfish I was becoming because of it. I promise you both, I'll never try to do anything like that just to earn my spots, again.
With that promise from their unspotted daughter, Patch and Piper could finally rest easy knowing that Oddball was never again going to do anything selfless for selfish reasons.
