Midoriya got up the next morning to his mother shrieking in surprise. "Mom?!" He flung from the mattress and made his way down the stairs. "Mom, are you okay? What is it?"

He looked at his mother who was clutching onto a broom, trembling in the corner of the kitchen. She looked at her son in fear, "S-stay behind me, Izuku. There's a giant bug on the table…"

"A giant bug?" He turned toward the table where he saw Zelda hovering over a bowl of rice. "Oh…that's just Zelda." Inko looked up at her son in surprise. "You know this thing, Izuku?" Her son nodded, "She's another variant of my quirk that got awakened yesterday. She's one of the Sages-but unlike them, she's visible to everyone, not just whom I trust."

Inko had put the broom down and joined her son, eyeing the dragon in front of her. She noticed Zelda near the rice with a thoughtful frown. "She seems to really like rice." She went over to the stove. Midoriya hummed, "Yeah…it's kind of strange. You'd think she'd go for the fish."

Inko came back with a little bowl of rice. "Well, I'm so proud of you, sweetie." She placed the rice in front of the silver dragon, where she immediately began eating. Inko smiled softly, "She's actually pretty cute."

Izuku nodded, immediately digging into his miso soup. "Right? And she can grow and shrink at will! And even turn invisible!" Inko gave her son a motherly smile. "That is amazing, Izuku. Are you going to bring her to UA like that?"

Midoriya shrugged, "I think so. I believe I can summon her back into the glove, but I want to show her everything. Just until Ms. Aizawa says for me to stop, though."

Midoriya walked to UA, Zelda perched on top of his shoulder. He shrunk a little bit as some girls stared and pointed at the dragon, but Zelda gave them a glare that was serious, yet motherly. The girls looked down, blushing in embarrassment-like a kid getting scolded by their mother.

Midoriya placed a finger into the golden mane and gently stroked it. "Thank you Zelda." Zelda crooned and pushed her head into his finger. He giggled and walked toward his classroom.

"What is that, Deku?!" Bakugou stomped over to Midoriya's desk and pointed at Zelda, who growled. Zelda decided to become the size of a boa constrictor and was wrapped protectively around Midoriyas' neck.

Midoriya gulped and gave pat Zelda's scales to calm himself down. "She's a part of my quirk that awakened yesterday, Kacchan. Her name is Zelda." Uraraka walked forward, stars in her eyes.

"She's so beautiful, Midoriya! Can I pet her?" Midoriya nodded, "Sure you can Uraraka." The brunette ran her hand down the dragon's back, letting out awed noises at the cool sensation. Hesitant footsteps came closer to his desk, and he looked up to find the lion-tailed student looking at him with an embarrassed flush on her cheeks. He raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yes, can I help you, or..?" The girl cleared her throat and looked down. "It's Mashirao. Um…can I pet her too?" The floating uniform a few desks back stood up abruptly. "Mashirao! What are you doing?!" The girl ignored her, ebony eyes focused on Midoriya.

Midoriya gave her a small smile. "Sure."

Zelda raised her head and gave the girl a snort. Her purple eyes seemed to be saying, "You can pet me, but I'm watching you."

Mashirao stroked Zelda's long back slowly. She sighed, seeming to make a decision. She looked up at Midoriya. "I still don't agree with a male being here, but…I guess I can make an exception for you."

Midoriya looked at her, confused. "I…don't know what to say…but…o…kay..?" The sandy blonde nodded emotionlessly and walked back to her desk. The floating uniform bent down to her and began talking to her in harsh whispers. Midoriya sighed-he knew they were talking about him.

A soft 'ahem' spoke out and Midoriya looked up at Xioko Todoroki. He yelped and turned away for a second, trying to get his breathing under control. Finally he calmed down and turned to look back at the girl, who was looking down at him emotionlessly.

"Sorry, I had a bit of a reaction. Can I help you?" The girl softly frowned. "Yes, I was wondering about your dragon. I heard she's a part of your quirk, correct?" Midoriya couldn't help but notice out of the corner of his eye that Bakugou had turned around in her seat to be a part of the conversation.

"Yes. I unlocked another part of my quirk and she appeared." A scoff came out of the blonde in front of him.

"Really? That lizard?! Even your quirk awakenings are lame, Deku!"

Midoriya gave the blonde a glare, "She's a dragon, Kacchan. Not a lizard. Please don't call her that again." Bakugou stared for a few seconds before turning around.

"…Whatever. Stupid Deku." An embarrassed flush was on her cheeks. Todoroki cleared her throat, encouraging Midoriya to look back at her.

"Anyway, what I wanted to ask was, is she sentient or does she just follow your commands?" Midoriya furrowed his eyes. The way she was asking that made it seem like she was accusing him of something.

"I just met her last night, so I'm not sure what you mean." Her frown deepened slightly. "I'm asking are you planning to train it until it obeys your every command. Are you going to make it work until her scales grow darker? Until her blonde mane falls? Are you going to use your FIRE powers on her?!"

Midoriya leaned away from her and Zelda started growling, the back of her blonde mane prickling up like a hissing cat. Yaoyorozu ran up behind her and gently wrapped her arms around the girls' middle. She gave Midoriya an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry Midoriya. She's got some things to work through." She gently pulled her friend away, allowing Midoriya some room to breathe. But…that was a little hard. Midoriya began hyperventilating when Todoroki was being dragged away. Not even Zelda's croons and licks could help.

Then a miracle happened.

A few sparks gently popped against his back, resulting in a gentle warmth that began relaxing his muscles. The soothing sensation was enough to gently calm him down. A scent of caramel filled his nostrils which provided, for once, a feeling of safety.

His breath gradually became even and he let out a few pants. The sparks continued against his back, warm and steady. He looked to his left and saw Bakugou. She had knelt beside him during his panic attack and used her quirk on him. Only instead of intent to harm, it was with an intent to help.

He wiped his eyes slowly, looking away from Bakugou to make her stay longer. He knew it was irrational-she treated him horribly for 12 years! She was a bully, but he couldn't help it. For a minute, just a minute, it felt like his best friend came back to him.

He felt the ruby gaze on the back of his head for a few seconds until she let out a small sigh and removed her hand. She straightened up and moved back to her seat. Midoriya hugged himself to make sure that really happened-to keep the unsuspected warmth from leaving. Maybe I'm finally getting through to her! He smiled-he couldn't help but feel happy!

The rest of the class in 1-A watched with mixed emotions.

….

Iida felt impressed! That was the only way that could describe her feeling. Bakugou was, for once, acting like a hero! She saw a student in distress and, instead of treating the male like the dirt on her shoe, she helped him.

This is the first time I can say that Bakugou could belong here! Good for her!

….

Todoroki felt guilty. Her own mother sent her on panic attacks a hundred times during her training. From hand-to-hand combat until she couldn't stand up anymore to being 'punished' because her flames weren't strong enough-every day there were panic attacks. Her only saving grace was her father, who always tried to protect her from her mother.

He finally snapped and did something to her that changed him completely. He burned her with boiling water from a nearby tea kettle. Her screams of agony immediately snapped him out of it and he ran to the freezer for an ice pack, pressing it to her face. Tears fell from his eyes as he pressed his lips to her forehead, rocking her back and forth on the kitchen floor.

"My precious girl…my princess…I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry, baby! Daddy is sorry!" The white haired man firmly pressed the ice pack against the burn, tenderly holding the back of Xioko's head with the other. He cried silently as Xioko trembled in pain.

Her mother caught wind of the accident and immediately called the mental hospital. Xioko's father went in without a fight; knowing that he had injured his baby girl was enough to convince himself that he was a danger to his children.

Todoroki felt tears coming to her eyes at the memory, but she vanished it. There was no time for regrets-nothing to distract her from her ultimate goal.

…..

Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, and a black-haired girl with big elbows were looking at Bakugou with respect and admiration. All of them thought one thing: I need to become her friend.

….

Yaoyorozu and Jiro looked between wanting to comfort Midoriya and confronting Todoroki (well, Jiro wanted to confront Todoroki; Yaoyorozu didn't know what to do).

The frog-faced girl watched in respect.

The girl with big lips, the animal-loving girl, the girl with all different limbs just looked silently. The girl that had a crows' head just bowed low, muttering, "Too pure for the dark."

Mineta bit her lip to prevent herself from saying anything dirty.

And Uraraka…

Uraraka didn't know what she was feeling. It's not that she didn't like Bakugou. She just…doesn't like Bakugou. She was loud, rude, called people names, and spewed insults like it was a second language. The blonde scared Midoriya every time he walked into the classroom.

But there were other feelings. She was proud of Bakugou as well. The blonde figured out that Midoriya was having a serious reaction and instead of calling him a loser decided to help him. But…she was sitting way too close to him.

Uraraka shook her head. No. Whatever this feeling was, she was not going to focus on it. She enrolled to be a hero, not to fall in lo-.

She stopped herself, feeling her cheeks heat up.

She was not in love.

Shut up, me!
