In a dark alley…

A woman clad in armor zoomed through the darkness. She placed a hand to her hearing device and spoke in a determined voice, "Hero Killer Stain is in view. I'm approaching the villain." Her teammate spoke in affirmative and she took out her grappling wire she needed for her next move.

…..

"And the first event of the day is starting now, folks! The Obstacle Course! All the students have to use their quirks and ingenuity to get through this one!" Present Mik let out a couple of chuckles. "The Obstacle Course is divided into three parts: first up is the Robo Inferno!"

The floating screen in the middle of the arena showed a blockade of villain robots. Midoriya let out a small sigh-the robots were familiar and thus, he felt a little safe.

Maybe this won' t be too bad…

"Followed by the second part: The Fall!"

Nope, it's bad! It's baaaaaddddd!

Midoriya felt his heartrate skyrocket when he looked at the screen. It was a canyon structure and it had four…tightropes?!

Awww hell naw!

Midoriya summoned Zelda and pressed his face to her warm scales. The mini dragon gave him a motherly lick on the cheek and gentle crooning. His four avatars surrounded the boy, filling him with friendship and devotion.

"And the last part of the Obstacle Course: The Mine Field! That's pretty much self-explanatory! Now, let's get ready to start!" Midoriya sighed and looked down at Zelda. She looked up at him patiently.

"I know that I can fly you and probably win in a flash, but I-I want to do things on my own. If I need a little burst of speed, I'll summon you. Is that okay?" Zelda let out a tiny purr and disappeared in golden sparkles.

Ingenium zoomed to the Hero Killer aiming her grappling hook at the unsuspected figure. She was speeding for only a few seconds until she felt a sharp, stabbing pain. She froze and looked down. Her armor had been sliced off…

…along with a majority of her stomach.

Red. Red. Red.

Pain. Pain. Pain.

Ingenium fell to her knees, gasping for breath at the unsuspecting attack. She looked at the Hero Killer in disbelief.

How?!

How was she able to guess her moves?! A paralyzing sensation went up her body and she fell flat on the floor. The blood was pooling around her trembling form. A deranged giggle came from the Hero Killer as she turned around.

The woman had a high, braided ponytail that fell to her midback. Deranged brown eyes studied the fallen heroine in high contempt. She had bandages around her neck, upper arms, and one leg. She was wearing a red, exercise bra, black shorts, white socks, and white tennis shoes.

She had two katanas, both were made out of ferrous blades-which explained how she cut through her hero outfit.

But it didn't explain the sudden paralysis.

"You're probably wondering, 'How can I not move?' Well…aside from the blood loss." Ingenium looked up at the Hero Killer, who looked at her in boredom. "That's because of my quirk: Bloodcurdle. I can paralyze targets whenever I ingest their blood. Disgusting, I know. But it gets the job done."

Ingenium glared with all the strength she could muster, "Villain! Why are you doing this?!"

The Hero Killer sighed, "If you truly don't get that, then I was right to have taken you out of the field. You know Endeavor, right?"

Ingenium fought through the dizziness, "The Number Two Heroine?! What about her?!"

The Hero Killer knelt down in front of her, "She causes civilian injuries every time she's out in the field. She has $50,000 dollars of property damages in the past year alone. And the worst thing that she's ever done. The worst thing a lot of these heroines had done. The thing that is the reason you are paying for right now." She leaned her head down even further to whisper in her ear.

"Your treatment of the males in this world." Ingenium widened her eyes.

"What are you talking about?! I treat everyone equally. I respect my father for crying out loud!"

"Three years ago. Mustafu Square. The old Ninja Hero Agency. My brother and father worked there for ten years. A fire had started because of a villain and everyone except them managed to escape. They could have been saved if one of the heroines had a heroic bone in their body. But no-all it took was Endeavor to say, 'It's only a couple of males-focus on the enemy!' I was there. You only nodded and did what that false heroine said, ignoring my family."

Ingenium felt her old guilt that she thought she put behind her flare up again. She softened her voice.

"I felt terrible about what I did-I still do. I was there for their funerals. I clean their shrines every year. I make sure that I save everyone, males included."

The Hero Killer sighed, "Bored now."

Ingenium could only close her eyes as the Hero Killer raised her katana.

…..

"All students go to the starting line!" Midoriya let out breath and walked forward with his class. He stretched his limbs to loosen them and knelt down.

"Get set…"

He stared straight ahead, ignoring some stares from some of the nearby girls.

"GO!" He ran.

He lifted his pinkie, summoning the Wind Sage. They joined hands and the Wind Sage spun him around, tossing him farther down the trail. He quickly took out his Wind Glider, soaring through the air. The Wind Sage materialized behind him, giving him some boosts with his whirlwinds.

Midoriya managed to take out a capsule he saved from his training with All Might and Rauru. It was one of the bomb capsules. He pressed the button on top and dropped it, resulting in a lot of the robots being destroyed!

He scrunched his glider closed, falling quickly, before opening it again to land safely. He activated his Recall power, running for the few precious seconds. He turned toward his avatars, who he could feel grin at him.

Master, you're almost to The Fall! The Wind Sage spoke up from above.

"Thanks!"

He gulped as, indeed, the canyon came into view. "Okay, Izuku. Time to forget about your fear of heights and begin your first trial as a hero."

Well, the USJ was my first trial, but…

Is it bad that I'm more scared of this than I am of that incident?

He heard girls panting and grunting, making him red.

Izuku, focus!

He halted in front of one of the tightropes. He turned around, feeling his face go white with terror. Hundreds of girls were snarling and grunting, faces red and sweaty with the exertion.

He saw Kacchan and Iida in the front-Kacchan was glaring at Midoriya with murderous intent (that he hoped was fake but he wasn't sure) and Iida was using her engines. He sighed and looked down at the tightrope by his foot.

"Tally-ho…" He took in a shuddering breath and began walking.

….

Toshinori looked at the screen, watching her protégé cross the rope. She only knew him for a few months, but she already thought of him as a son.

Keep going, Young Midoriya.

…..

Inko woke up from her fifth fainting spell. She was about to reach for her glass of water before she made the mistake of looking at the tv screen-she saw her baby boy on a tightrope over an abyss…

It got dark again.

Midoriya ran the first few steps before the tightrope began dipping under his weight. He summoned the Wind Sage again. The sage lifted him up into the air again, giving him a burst of speed.

I know it's a repeat performance, but I refuse to go falling off a cliff.

He looked down and saw a couple of girls from Class 1-B and Class 1-C falling off. He was gasping in fear until he saw some robots hovering up, holding students under their arms.

Well, I'm glad that there's some insurance of our lives. I wish they mentioned that in the first place!

He rolled his eyes and looked ahead of him.

"It looks like Midoriya has managed to get to the Mine field! Oh-Todoroki and Bakugou are closing in!" Midoriya looked behind him. Todoroki was using her ice to fly by and Bakugou was using her explosions.

He looked around for ideas on what to do until it hit him. He landed safely to the ground and summoned the Fire Sage. He turned to the sage, "I need you to make the rock wall for me." The Fire Sage nodded and did as bade. Midoriya knocked the wall to the ground and took out three capsules. He knocked them against the ground and out popped three rockets. He took out three more capsules and popped out three sand gliders. Raising his hand upward and to the right, he used Ultrahand to connect the rockets to the wall and to connect the three gliders to the bottom of the wall.

He hit the rockets and immediately let out a scream. Those rockets were really fast! He sped past Bakugou and Todoroki, who were both looking at him in a state of shock! Bakugou snapped out of it and let out a yell of fury as she used her explosions to follow after him. Todoroki frowned and followed suit.

The moment the rockets disappeared, Midoriya jumped off and gasped. It was the tunnel that led back to the arena! He was going to make it!

He heard Todoroki and Bakugou come closer and he immediately activated Recall. He ran and ran, thoughts of training with All Might and Rauru filling his mind.

The next thing he knew, he crossed the line.

He was first.

He won!
