Danny Phantom vs The Beast of Gévaudan

He flew as fast as he could, knowing where to go and what to do.

He didn't look back, eyes forward.

He had one chance. One chance to end this.

"For Henri... for everyone that he's hurt..." Danny said under his breath.

"Danny!" He heard someone's voice call from behind.

He knew it could be, as he was flying as fast as he could and was miles in the air. With a breath, he slowed down enough to let her catch up.

"Danielle... don't follow." He said once he heard her getting close enough. "I can't risk someone else getting hurt..."

Dani looked at the back of his head. He didn't look at her. She believed he must feel so ashamed of what he was going to do to the Beast that he wouldn't even do that.

She wanted to give him a piece of her mind about just going off without saying anything but knew this was not the time.

"What about Frostbite? He's probably hurting. Someone should keep an eye on him, right?" She asks.

After a moment's pause, Danny nodded.

"Right... that's a good point." He admits.

"And..." Dani went, though there was a long period where she said nothing.

"...and...?" Danny questioned.

Suddenly, her tiny arms wrapped around his frame from behind.

She clung to him as if she were terrified that releasing her grip would lead to something truly heartbreaking would happen.

"Please don't get yourself killed..." She whispered into his back.

Danny remained silent, questioning what to say before looking over his shoulder.

"I promise..." He said.

"Mean it!" Dani looked up, her eyes starting to water.

There was a notable way her brow was furrowed. She was angry, furious even, that Danny would risk his life without thinking of how it would affect her.

Danny froze. Unsure of what to say at first, he nodded.

"I mean it. I won't... I won't die if I face him alone." He said.

"You don't have to. I could help." Dani said.

"I'm sorry but..." Danny closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I have to." He opened his eyes. "This... all of that's happened since those chests... since the Disasteroid... is my fault. I have to fix it..."

"You don't have to do this alone..." Dani once again attempts to reason with him, only to see him shake his head before opening his eyes.

"You... all of you... are in danger because of me. I won't risk someone's life again after what happened tonight. I have to do this..." Danny said.

Dani wanted to yell, to get it into his head he was being foolish, borderline suicidal, but knew there was no point. She was made from his DNA, so she knew how stubborn he could be.

"Okay... but if I think for a second you can't handle it... don't expect me to just wait until you lose an arm or something..." She said, trying to hide her fears with a smile.

Danny recognized that her smile was not genuine, but he didn't blame her for it.

Slowly, he turned and put a hand on her head, a gesture to calm her.

"Then I won't lose an arm..." He said, trying to put on a brave face, though it took the look on her face to realize it wasn't as comforting as he hoped. "I mean I'll be back in one piece... That's kind of the best I could say right now..."

"That's an impressive level of optimism for you. I'm almost surprised.." Dani said with a tired sigh before nodding. "So... let's go."

With that, the two Phantoms flew towards Dunkirk at full speed.

At the camp

"I'm happy to report all of you have made full recoveries. I don't know what the substance used was… but it seems to have worked. No internal damage, not even any scars." The doctor adjusted his glasses a bit as he looked at his clipboard notes. "Please wait until your name is called and you're free to go."

Though relief came to most, those who were truly in the know were still anxious.

Maddie paced back and forth, dread for her son had grown since she gave Danielle the okay to follow him.

"What was I thinking?! I should've insisted she bring me along… Now those two...I really hope they'll be okay." Maddie anxiously thought with an expression of fear.

"Maddie…" Alicia placed a hand on her shoulder. "Y'all gotta sit down and breathe. Worrying yerself like that don't help no one…"

"Yes, listen to your sister. A sentence I never thought I'd say unironically." Jack said as he sat down and ate some crepes.

"...where did you get that?" Maddie noticed.

"Marie." Jack said flatly. "She's had hundreds of years to know the best places to get some great Crepe Suzette." He then put some in his mouth.

"Oui." Marie, having hovered from above, said to them.

"And… you're not helping in the fight because…?" Maddie gestured for her to answer.

"...I'm not a fighter, I am a queen. Plain and simple." Marie stated.

"...of course." Maddie rolled her eyes.

"You sure you don't want some, Mom?" Jazz, shown having some crepes herself, asks as she offers. "It might help you calm your nerves."

"I DON'T NEED CREPES TO CALM DOWN!" Maddie insisted before it was shoved in her face. "I said I don't want it!"

"I'll take it!" Alicia took the crepes, shoveling it into her mouth. "Mmm… not bad. Could use some syrup…" She said before noticing the disapproving look on Maddie's face. "I've almost bled to death multiple times in the past 24 hours! 'Scuse me fer needing some comfort food!" She defended herself.

Maddie sighed in defeat.

"Fine… gimme some." She held her hand out.

At the same time, Tucker was enjoying his own as Sam was too preoccupied with her own thoughts right now.

"Let's just hope Little Miss Proper's idea works…" She said as she worried about her best friend and ex-boyfriend.

"Relax, Sam. Her real voice might sound like a pain to listen to, but she's not an idiot…" Tucker said before eying his dish with a smile before motioning to the blender. "I like this. Although…"

He placed it inside the blender, much to Sam's displeasure.

"You're not seriously thinking of blending that, are you?" She asks.

"Maybe. I always did wanna try a new kind of unique milkshake. And Danny's gonna need some after this adventure." Tucker said as he turned it on.

As that went on

"Mom! Dad!" Star said as soon as she spotted her parents.

She ran towards them and they both embraced her.

"Princess! Oh, thank goodness!" Johnathan said in relief, happy that his daughter was alright.

"My baby!" Stella hugged her so tightly that it seemed to cause Star a degree of pain.

"Mom… you're crushing me…" Star wheezed.

"Get used to it. You're grounded for disappearing on us…" Stella whispered to her, despite the cheerful tone she had.

"...seriously? I almost got killed by a werewolf and the guy I kinda like has other girls who like him too. On top of that, now I'm grounded too?" Star questioned, finding this unfair.

"Them's the breaks, I guess." Johnathan said with arms crossed as Stella let go of their daughter.

"Tell me you were at least with Danny?" She asks.

"...yeah." Star said since it was technically not a lie.

"Relief… Hopefully, something nice might happen after this nightmare of a vacation is over..." Stella said.

"I still don't understand why you are so eager for our daughter to be with that boy when we barely know him ourselves." Jonathan shook his head.

"I trust him more than that lady at your firm. Solene What's-her-face." Stella muttered under her breath.

"This again…" Star rolled her eyes.

"And… that's my cue…" Kwan stepped away.

Johnathan was about to say something, but he soon got a text on his phone, one he read.

"Who was it, Dad?" Star asked.

"Just one of my colleagues about a case we're doing..."Johanthan said.

"Let me guess, it was Solene, wasn't it?" Stella asked in a jealous tone.

Johnathan sighs in response since they had this conversation before.

"Darling, I already told you that Solene and I are just friends and colleagues and the only times we do talk is about work. She's nothing more than someone I occasionally work with..."Jonathan shook his head with a smile at his wife's protectiveness.

"Yeah, a friend and colleague who happens to be younger than me and looks good in a suit..." Stella muttered under her breath.

"Sweetheart, this jealousy of yours is cute but to a point. You know you're the only one for me. Besides, even if I was single, Solene isn't my type. She's too much of a workaholic and married to her job. Plus, you're the mother of our princess..." Johanthan said.

That made his wife smile a bit.

"Oh Honey, I'm sorry I got so jealous..."Stella said before she planted a kiss on his cheek but it soon led to the two kissing.

"Gag…" Star went.

"Star?" Kwan got her attention as he stepped back in. "Wanna come with me to hang with Tucker?"

"For once in my life, yes… I don't mind hanging with Tucker Foley." Star walked away, eyes avoiding her parents who were being lovey-dovey again.

With Chloe

She paced back and forth, dread on her face.

"I'm hopin' my idea works. I really am…" She said in an anxious way, still worried about Danny, not realizing she was speaking out loud.

"You have feelings for Danny, yes?" Alain asks knowingly.

His coworker was silent before Chloe sighed and shook her head.

"Yes, okay? I do." She admits.

"Aha… I knew as much considering you shot me down almost instantly when we met zhat you have a type." Alain said with a nod. "So… he is indeed your type?"

"Yeah…" Chloe blushed with a somewhat embarrassed smile. "He's got dark hair but he's almost… kind of a dork. And I like his sense of humor. Kinda reminds me of my dad and how that got my mom to be into him. He also reminds me of another guy I knew at my old school. He had dark hair and could be a goof too...and he also happened to be my first love and...I dunno. I guess that's my type..."

"Ah… I see. L'amour jeune est si pur." Alain said in a knowing way.

"TAIS-TOI OU JE TE CASSE LA JAMBE!" Chloe responded.

Alain only snickered at that.

"Well… best talk to him once he returns victorious." Alain winked at her.

"What makes you so sure he'll make it? Not totally sure my idea will work…" Chloe said, admitting her insecurities.

"Because… you're a smarter girl zhan you give yourself credit for." Alain said in a sincere sounding way.

Chloe would have snapped at him, but hearing him say that did alleviate her concerns.

Thinking of seeing Danny return victoriously brought a smile to her face.

"CHLOE! WHERE ARE YOU! GET OVER HERE!" A shrill, angry voice was heard.

A voice that Chloe knew all too well, and it sounded close.

"I'm not here…" Chloe whispers as she hid behind a nearby tent.

Just in time as Dubois showed up, looking for her. She didn't see Chloe and became angry. She spotted Alain and started making demands.

"You! Where is Chloe?! Either she lost her leg or she's lost my patience!" Dubois said in a harsh way.

"And where have you been, Affreuse sorcière?" Alain said, glaring at her.

"Comment oses-tu m'appeler comme ça, gamine ?" Dubous said in anger before scoffing. "Quoi que. Si vous devez le savoir, j'avais besoin de me remettre de cette terrible expérience. I had to find a spot to pamper myself and wait for this ridiculous nightmare to end! Now… where is she?! She had best finish all my orders by now if she wants to keep her job!" Her lack of concern for her student is obvious.

"Funny… a job requires getting paid. Perhaps you should spend more time doing zhat, or at least give her credit, and less time barking orders." Alain sassed.

"Why I never!" Dubois furiously snapped before storming off. "CHLOE! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Chloe peeked out, sighing in relief.

"There's one more monster I could use saving from…" She mutters.

With Tucker

"...And… it's done!" He said, pouring the liquified crepes into a glass.

"You actually make milkshakes out of this stuff? For reals?" Kwan said in awe of the idea.

"Didn't you and Dash used to make sandwiches out of pork and wagyu meat?" Star asks.

"I know jocks bulk up… but that sounds like a visit to the intensive care unit." Sam said with a disgusted shudder.

"Still...might make an interesting milkshake..." Tucker said, sounding intrigued.

"Really? I've wanted to make a new recipe for that stuff, but Dash said it was too stupid." Kwan said, looking amazed that someone else might share his ideas.

"Stupid?! Hah! Me and Danny basically drink these all the time!" Tucker went.

"Really?! Awesome." Kwan said. "You mentioned something about making a milkshake out of bacon and cheese puffs...might if you show me how to do that?" Kwan asked, since he was curious of what that would taste like.

"Sure...first, you gotta-..." Tucker began to explain as the girls cringed.

"...oh good… the start of a new, gross friendship…" Sam snarked.

"I gotta try those..." Kwan said.

"I'll drink to that!" Tucker said, pouring the milkshake into his mouth.

However, in a split second, he spat it out, making gagging sounds.

"What's wrong?!" Jazz asked while Tucker started wiping his mouth.

"I taste… more than just the crepes! I taste… really gross stuff! And Danny and I once made a milkshake with pickles and sausages! I thought you said you washed this?!" Tucker complained, holding the blender up.

"I guess the ingredients we used for the regenerative potion are sticking to the blender pretty tightly?" Jazz shrugged.

"Ugh… please tell me we still have mouthwash." Tucker muttered.

Larissa paced back and forth, checking her watch.

"He left 20 minutes ago…" She said with a huff. "I know I said an hour but…" Her phone rang. With a loud grunt, she answered. "What is it?!"

"Lieutenant." A familiar commanding voice went.

"Solo- I mean, General Maxxon." She straightened herself. "Sir."

"What's the word? Do you have Devereux or at least a part of him we could use?" He asks on the other side.

"He's… in Dunkirk. It's a long story…" Larissa answered with an awkward tone in her voice.

"And you're going after him now, correct?" General Maxxon questioned.

The lieutenant was silent, mentally looking for her answer.

"I… my men are… low on ammo and morale." She said, speaking slowly as to avoid admitting anything unnecessary. "I… allowed Danny Phantom to go and handle the situation while we-"

"Gear up and go right after, correct? I want at least one piece of that thing in tact. We got boys from Dulce to Groom Lake who want to take a peak at how his DNA works. You had best hurry… unless you want to be demoted." General Maxxon's voice made it clear he would not allow any excuse in the event of failure.

"Yes, Sir." Larissa said before hanging up, huffing before speaking up. "Boys! Let's get going!"

She did not agree, but the general was an old friend and she had her orders. And so, she ordered her men to get ready and go after their target.

With the Phantoms

The two said nothing for the past few minutes.

Danny was silent, knowing what he had to do but trying not to let it get to him.

Dani, meanwhile, knew it was eating him up from the inside. She tried to think of ideas to avoid such an act he had to do alone before she recalled there were others.

Maybe Frostbite and the rest can help? There has gotta be something… She thought, hopeful that Danny didn't have to do anything on his own after all.

"That must be it!" Danny called out.

They could see the steel mill coming closer to them as they flew. It was indeed still operational, though the lack of sounds coming from it filled the two with a bit of discomfort.

"Bro… You think Frostbite's okay?" Dani asks.

Before Danny could answer, he saw a collection of white furry bodies, a green clad figure, and a blue dress that were several yards outside of the mill, laying on the ground.

"We're about to find out…" Danny said as they descended.

On the ground

Many warriors of the Far Frozen were unconscious, barely having the strength to leave before passing out. Those awake were too weak to even groan, staring up at the sky as if barely hanging onto consciousness.

Wulf hissed as he licked one deep cut to his arm. One eye was swollen shut as he picked up a scent.

"Amiko?" He asks before hissing in pain.

Dorathea was on her stomach, turned her head to look up just enough to see the two.

"Reinforcements?" She asks, trying to push herself up before her arms give out and she painfully hits the ground.

Frostbite, who had cracks on his icy arm and one eye closed from swelling, looked up while sitting against an abandoned car for support.

"Great One?" He asks, a mix of relief and concern on his face. "W-What are you doing here? How did… how did you know we were here?" He tried to get up. "I never speci-ACK!"

He fell to the ground, landing on his side. Danny approached and helped him get back on his rear.

"Frostbite, what happened?" Danny asks as he looks around. "I'm guessing you called the big guns and they weren't enough?"

"Was the Beast really that tough for so many ghosts?" Dani landed near them, her eyes darting in terror at what happened to them.

"Deve-The Beast was indeed a more dangerous foe than expected…" Frostbite said as he attempted to stand with Danny's help. "The false blood moon and his cunning make him difficult to kill…" His eyes darted to Danny. "I'm afraid this is one battle even you cannot claim victory in, Great One…"

"Actually…" Danny spoke up. "We have an idea… one that might get rid of him for good."

"Y-You have?" Frostbite's disbelief mixed with hope was evident by his tone and his uninjured eye widening slightly.

"I'd ask for your help but…" Danny gestured to him. "I can't risk it in the condition you're in…"

Dani was silent, her hope that might win suddenly dashed.

"Please, Great One. I'm...I can still f-fight…" Frostbite coughed. "Allow your humble servant… to…" He coughed again.

"Sorry but… I'm gonna have to bench you." Danny said as he let Frostbite go, allowing him to lean into the car.

"Wulf?" Dani noticed the much friendlier lycanthrope was among them. "How come you guys haven't used his portals to go? Why are you still here?"

"Mi mankas potenco. Eĉ miaj ungegoj estis tranĉitaj dum batalo." Wulf went, holding his hands up to show his claws were damaged.

Dani was silent before directing her attention to Danny, who overheard.

"He's running on fumes and his claws are too broken to make portals." He explained before recalling something. "What about the Infi-Map?"

"All of us are too weak… to hold onto the map… as it takes us." Frostbite explained slowly. "At best… a few of us can go at a time…"

Hearing that, Danny surveyed the area of ghosts who were still here. Then to the mill.

Looks like it's just me and him, after all… His fists clenched and his eyes narrowed, knowing he was to face The Beast of Gévaudan on his own.

"Dani?" He spoke up, his back turned to her and the rest.

"Yeah?" She asks, hoping he had an idea and that they could help.

"Use the map and take them to the Far Frozen a few at a time to heal up…" He said, not looking back.

"...to… come back as soon as they're all better?" Dani had a nervous smile as she didn't want her big brother to fight alone.

"...to make sure they recover… Because it's time the Beast goes back to being a legend…" Danny said in a low voice before he started to walk towards the mill.

"What?!" Frostbite exclaimed. "Great One!" He attempts to reach him. "Y-"

He paused, hissing in pain before taking a knee.

"Sorry…" Danny said, still not looking at them. "...I'd let you help but… none of you can right now. If I just finished him sooner, none of you would be here… I have to do this."

The way he spoke got to them. He didn't sound like his usual confident self. An uncomfortable silence befell all of them, save for Dani.

"Danny?" She spoke up. "I know your plan too, remember? Maybe-"

"Get them out of here. Get them healed up." Danny said, still with his back turned as he started walking away.

"But what about you?" Dani shouted, anger and fear filled her voice. "You're seriously going to take that monster on by yourself?!"

"I'm your big brother! Don't talk back to me! Just do what I say for now!" He barked, pausing in his path while still looking at the mill.

Silence.

Dani wanted to talk back, but she knew that her brother wouldn't change his mind, this was something he wanted to do on his own.

"...okay." She said in an unhappy tone.

"...I'm sorry I yelled…" He said. "But I need you to be strong and help Frostbite and the others."

Before he continued, he felt her arms wrap around him. He stiffened as she hugged him. Her face buried in his back, hiding the tears of fear and sadness falling.

"Don't die…" She whispered.

"I won't…" He whispered back.

"I mean it…" She said in a louder tone. "I can't stand the idea… of losing you. Please come back to us…"

She felt him pull out of her arms a moment. She worried that she'd look up at eyes filled with a burning hate for his enemy. That's when his hand rested on the top of her head.

Looking up, she saw a comforting smile on his face.

"I mean it too…" He promised, his hand ruffling her hair as he spoke in a gentle way

Dani sniffed hard, wiping her tears away before smiling back.

"Okay…" She said, slowly taking a step back to go to aid Frostbite and the rest.

Danny turned around and started walking towards the mill. Once he was far enough, his smile slowly dropped, forming a frown as his eyes narrowed once more.

Once he made his way into the mill, he stopped.

He saw the scratches and dents from the battle already, along with the smell of what he assumed was metal while it was still in liquid form.

"Cedric Devereux!" Danny shouted out.

No answer.

He did not believe the Beast left. He was here, somewhere. As such, Danny chose something different to say, knowing what name he now answers to.

"Beast of Gévaudan!" He shouted.

A moment of nothing.

"...I've been waiting for you, jeune ami!" His voice echoed from deeper into the mill.

Danny's fists clenched as he started making his way deeper in.

"No more games! No more hiding! From what my phone says, it's about 10 minutes before your full 24 hours of being alive again are up! So it's high time you and I end this now! This is the last time we do this!" Danny shouted as his eyes seemed to emit a green fire.

"Ah… Enfin! We agree on somezhing!" The Beast followed that with a laugh, followed by him chewing on something.

Danny looked around, seeing no sign of his lupine enemy.

"Just know… I gave you a chance. And just like the chance you had to leave Catherine alone… you decided not to and do worse." Danny called out.

"What happened with that woman was her own fault for having the nerve to reject me! Do not dare speak her name around me ever again!" The Beast roared in an unhinged way. "I will end you like I did that girl I made my first victim!"

"She was a kid! What you did was beyond wrong!" Danny shouted as he turns, trying to find the source of the voice.

"It was my rightful revenge!" The Beast declared. "And for reminding me of my suffering… my humiliation… you will die screaming in agony!"

"DUDE! You were shot down! She wasn't into you! You could've moved on but YOU decided to be a monster!" Danny retorted

"Don't talk to me as if you understand what I went zhrough! Idiot de garçon!" The Beast was heard angrily barking, his words echoed.

Danny turned his head and realized they were coming from deeper in the mill.

"I saw your history, remember? We both know, for all your denial, you got yourself skinned…" Danny's fist clenched as he started walking in that direction. "I'm here to bring on the heat and make sure there's nothing left of you."

"Well…" The Beast's voice held a degree of sadistic anticipation. "As you say in this era… bring it!"

As the sounds of eating became louder, Danny took one deep breath and resumed.

Back at the camp

Everyone was waiting for Danny. All were anxious.

Tucker tried to distract himself with his PDA, Sam was pacing back and forth and Star and Jazz sat by as they waited. Though they started to get impatient.

"Any word on Danny?" Chloe asks as she and Alain approach Sam.

"None yet. But he'll be back soon. I know it…" Sam answered.

The sounds of Maddie's loud grunt from frustration and fear got their attention.

"It's already been over half an hour and still no sign of him. What if that monster's hurt my baby?! I can't do anything about it!" Maddie said anxiously as her sister tried to calm her down.

"Maddie, calm down. You look like you're about to lose your mind..." Alicia said not-so-helpfully.

"OF COURSE I AM! I SHOULDN'T HAVE LET HIM GO!" Maddie yelled, her face contorted with a mix of emotions, none pleasant.

All the while, Kwan was silent and he was standing next to Tucker who was still on his PDA.

"So...uh...what are you looking at?" Kwan asked, mostly out of boredom and uneasiness.

"Just looking up any news if something's going on at that mill in Dunkirk..." Tucker said.

"Can I see?" Kwan asked before Tucker showed him.

At the same time, Maddie was sweating out of terror at the thoughts of what her son must be going through.

"Let me get you some water…" Jack insists on helping his wife.

As he goes, he hears the sound of a helicopter. Looking nervous, he saw it get closer.

The choppers landed not far from the campsite, where soldiers were entering upon the doors opening.

"Let's go, people! We have a mission to clear this area, get civilians to safety and go after the beast!" Larissa ordered as she pointed to the choppers.

Jack, questioning this, approached.

"Lieutenant?" Jack stopped when she held her arm out.

"Mr. Fenton, I'm afraid that this is a military matter. We'll take it from here." She said.

"Not that. I thought you'd give my s- uh… you'd give Phantom an hour? It's only been 25 minutes." Jack points out.

"I'm sorry but… I have orders…" Larissa said, as if that explains everything.

"But you gave your word you'd wait." Jack said, not looking happy about this.

"I did… my boss didn't." Larissa groaned, exhaling out her nose. "I'll… not arrest your son, if that helps…"

Before Jack could say anything, more soldiers showed up.

"Lieutenant! We're all set and waiting on you now!" One of the pilots called out.

"Coming!" She said before redirecting her attention to Jack. "Sorry…" She said with a sincere tone before going.

She made her way to one of the choppers before it took to the skies again.

In the Ghost Zone

Danielle was with Frostbite and some of the ghosts injured in battle in the Far Frozen.

She helped them all get to the medical lab and Frostbite's village doctors were doing their best to help heal all the ghosts who were injured during the fight.

Wulf was currently being healed in a tank like several other Far Frozen warriors.

Dani went to one Far Frozen doctor, who wore a lab coat.

"How soon will he be up and clawing again?" She asks the doctor.

"About… perhaps after a day or so of rest." The doctor responded.

"A DAY?! That's too long! My big brother needs our help! Now!" Dani went, arms wide in shock.

"Apologies… but I am afraid that this is the best we can do for this kind of damage. Even technology, as advanced as ours is, has its limits..." The yeti in the lab coat responded to her once more before he went back to treating Wulf's injuries.

Dani hated this, she was going to complain before she realized it would do no good. The ghost girl then took the map out.

"Map? Take me to get more of the ghosts back, please?" She pleaded, wishing she had a different means to help her brother

The map took her, all while her mind was on her brother and hoping that he was okay.

The mill

Danny made his way down, smelling the hot red liquids that were abandoned when the mill was deserted earlier.

He made a mental note to take advantage as he saw a light down the halls.

Upon entering what he realized was the light from one of the furnaces used for melting metal, Danny saw the Beast there, eating what was left of the tail he tore off of Dorathea and using the heat off the furnace to cook it to a more edible state.

The Beast licked off the cooked meat from the bone before chomping on it, seeing Danny approach.

"Oh? SUIS-JE EN TRAIN DE MANGER DE MANIÈRE SI BESTIALE? Forgive me…" He said with a sick grin.

Danny's fists clenched as he made it clear he won't let the Beast go free a second longer.

"I'm all out of forgiveness… monster!" Danny shouted, fists at the ready.

With a growl of a laugh, the Beast threw the ghostly bone at Danny, who quickly knocked it out of the way, only to see it was a distraction.

The Beast leapt, swinging his claws towards Danny, who backed away in time. Undaunted, the Beast attempted once more to slash at him, but Danny narrowly avoided it in time to kick before his lycanthropic foe could attack again.

Seeing an opening, Danny performed a left jab and right hook at the Beast's chest.

Angered at this, the Beast clawed the wall, breaking a chunk of it off and slamming it in Danny's face.

The impact disoriented the ghost boy long enough for the Beast to grab him by the head and then slam him into the wall. The Beast bared his teeth, slamming the boy three times before the impact caused nearby containers of liquid metal to shake, allowing some of their contents to fall out and burn the floors, starting small fires.

Seeing this, the Beast tossed Danny towards the flames. The ghost boy managed to notice in time and fire a ghost ray at the floor to push himself higher, avoiding the flames as he landed on all fours.

The Beast, meanwhile, got on all fours himself and ran at his young foe.

"Not good…" Danny pushes himself up, using one arm to balance himself. "Whose stupid idea was this again? …oh right… mine…" He muttered, recognizing how taxing this will be as he braced himself when the Beast jumped over the flames.

The Beast grabbed hold of Danny, the two rolling before Danny was slammed into the floor and slashed in the chest and face by the Beast. However, the Beast's advantage was short-lived as Danny pushed him off, the two rolling once more before he was now on top of his lupine enemy, creating two sword constructs, one in each hand, and slashing near his neck.

His intent was to dig into the Beast's skin and go with Chloe's idea of hurting him from within before severing the head from the body.

Unfortunately, despite the pain he caused, he saw the cuts slowly healing. He realized he'll have to find some way to attack him to make an opening and strike the inside at the same time. Fortunately, he wasn't so lost in thought that he'd fail to notice the Beast pushing him off.

Upon getting on his feet, the Beast lunged closer, his mouth wide open in an attempt to bite Danny's head off. Danny bobbed to his right in time. The Beast pulled back and tried again, but Danny now bobbed to his left.

Seeing an opening, Danny swung his leg upward, his body spinning with the momentum, kicking the Beast in the chin and knocking him up and back.

Angered and seeing the fire spread, the Beast used his sharp claws to climb up the nearby wall.

Using his powers to defy gravity, Danny flew up and stood on the wall, not far from the Beast before throwing a right jab at his face. Snarling, the Beast swung a claw after pulling on hand away from the wall. Once Danny avoided it by pulling back, he swapped hands, clawing at Danny with the other but was avoided once more.

Seeing an opening, Danny's fist glowed before reaching the Beast's abdomen, not just hitting it but entering it. His fist's glow became a fire that started to burn the Beast from inside, hurting him, as evident by his howl of pain.

"YES! Finally!" Danny went.

His victory at getting to hurt the Beast from within was short lived. His lupine nemesis decided to grab Danny by the head and push him downward to the floor.

The impact caused the floor to shake, crack even. The Beast pulled Danny's fist out by pushing the body it was attacked to away, knocking him into the wall.

The Beast panted heavily as his wound healed, albeit slowly. Angered at this, he bared his teeth and ran at Danny Phantom, who cracked a smile at this before flying at his foe with his right shoulder forward.

Their bodies collided, creating a shockwave that blew the flames back, putting some out, and knocking them both into the opposing walls, denting them in the process.

Danny pushed himself off the wall in time to see the Beast coming in to attack him, narrowly dodging in time to create a sword construct and pierce the side of the Beast's arm. As he did, he channeled the energy of his ghost stringer into the Beast, attempting to shock his insides. The idea was working causing the Beast a deal of pain before he angrily tried to bite down once more.

Danny raised his other arm to create a shield, but the Beast bit down hard enough that hit teeth penetrated. Both the shield and Danny's skin.

"ACK!" Danny went, pulling his arm back and dissolving the construct, followed by a roundhouse kick that sent the Beast several feet back.

Both of them paused, breathing heavily, and not just because of the fire and smoke. Danny held onto the arm that had been bitten while the Beast held the arm that was pierced, noticing how slowly it was healing. He realizes now what Danny was doing and it made him furious.

"If you want to get under my skin so badly…" The Beast grabbed the floor, breaking off pieces of it. "...I'll tear you up and eat you piece by piece! Face my fury"

He ran behind the fires, throwing chunks of debris through the smoke.

Danny didn't have time to go intangible before he was hit in the face, due to not seeing the debris being thrown at him in time. Another struck him in the chest. He had only a moment to duck away from the rest before the Beast came out of the smoke and struck him with a backhand. Danny was knocked off balance a moment before the Beast slashed his chest about three times before kicking him.

Danny landed on his rear before flipping back to his feet. The Beast threw debris once more, but this time, Danny was prepared.

Waving his hand, he created waves of energy that blocked the debris, saving him from being hit.

The Beast attempted to strike him once more, but Danny thought fast. Making a construct of a sword once more, he slashed the Beast several times before pulling his free hand back and punching the Beast in the face, knocking him back.

The Beast managed to find his footing again before standing up and snarling, raising his arms to slash at Danny.

Lycanthropic claws clashed with swords made of ghostly energy, neither making a hit on their target's body until Danny pulled back. He retracted the swords and held his hands back.

"Face this fury, Beast!" He shouted, unleashing a powerful stream of energy at this foe.

The impact of the blast sent the Beast into the wall he damaged earlier, bending it even further. He used his arms to try and push the beam in an attempt to walk back to continue the fight, but before he knew it, the stream of power ended and Danny tackled him through the wall.

The two rolled on the ground, Danny managing to roll past the weakened Beast and land on his feet.

At first, he felt confident he could finish the fight, take advantage of the Beast's weakened state to attack from within.

However, the red light suddenly appearing after the clouds moved reminded him of a certain issue.

"Oh… right…" He muttered as the Beast stood up, howling as loudly before he cackled in a murderous frenzy.

Adapting his idea quickly, Danny used his power to create two spike fists over his own non-spiky ones, coming in and grazing the Beast ever slightly as a small amount of his energy went into the monster's skin before it healed.

"Ha!" The Beast went as he slashed at Danny's shoulder, injuring him. "I heal instantly, remember?!"

That's what I'm counting on… Danny thought, hiding the actual intent of his attack.

He punched the Beast again, once again giving him a cut and letting power seep through upon contact.

The Beast slashed back. Danny struck back. The Beast repeated. As did Danny.

This went on for several blows, Danny keeping himself from passing out as he kept seeping energy into the injuries he dealt, figuring the Beast didn't notice it just yet.

Suddenly, the two's pace sped up, striking each other with greater speeds before both of their hits collided, creating another shockwave that sent the two flying back.

Danny was flown back into the mill, getting back on his feet when he saw the Beast come running at him. Thinking fast, he stood and resumed his attacks, landing several hits before the Beast bit one of the constructed fists, breaking it before backhanding Danny.

"Jeu terminé!" He laughed as Danny stumbled back.

"No…" He groaned. "Can't stop now…"

The Beast slashed at his stomach, causing him a great deal of pain, distracting him as the Beast grabbed him by the neck.

The Beast once again laughed, seeing that the blood moon was touching him and making his healing and strength far greater.

"Any last words, garçon fantôme?" The Beast grinned.

Danny struggled a moment, thinking how to deal any internal damage as the blood moon was in effect before his eyes darted back to the mill. He saw a container of the still hot liquid metal.

He had one power he hadn't practiced as much, but this was the best possible time to use it for something this heavy.

"Yeah..." Danny coughed as he readied his last shot at ending the Beast. "...this one's for Henri!" He aimed inside the mill.

That evil grin disappeared.

"...who's Henri?" The Beast asks, his face a mix of confusion and annoyance.

Hearing that, Danny's extended arm clenched the fist. Forgetting the pain, he glared at his foe as he fired a beam into the mill.

"Maybe you'll remember after a hot bath!" He exclaimed, pulling his arm back and snapping his fingers with his other hand.

Before the Beast knew it, small explosions that resulted in damaged skin appeared all over his body, injuring him enough to let Danny go.

As it turned out, Danny had channeled a small portion of energy into the Beast's skin, effectively putting small bombs inside of him. Once he found the right moment, he'd snap his fingers and make openings that he could take advantage of when it was time to. And now, he found the way to deliver pain to the Beast, both internal and external, without the blood moon's interference.

Danny turned intangible in time to not be harmed by the container as it turned to its side. The Beast only had a moment to notice before it covered him.

The container was now upside down, trapping the Beast inside as the sounds of his howling in pain were heard from within.

As that happened, Danny noticed the blood moon's coloring starting to fade, the aftereffects of the magic rain wearing off.

With the remaining strength he had, the Beast managed to tear out the container, but he wasn't unscathed.

As he breathed raggedly, his body was burnt and cut in places. His right arm was almost clean of fur that was burnt off, his left arm had holes that were on fire from within, his tail was now hairless and his right eye was closed. The top of his head was also on fire.

Danny noticed the injuries he gave the Beast's chest were not closing fast enough. Chloe's idea had worked, the Beast's healing factor is literally being burnt out. The internal damage from the molten steel inside was taking up most of it, meaning his outside wasn't healing as fast enough.

And with that, Danny knew it was time. He reached into his belt, using its ability to carry objects to pull out something he used against the Wendigo.

"I'm not a fan of this… but for you?" His eyes glowed bright green as he aimed the silver sword he had used on his previous monstrous foe. "I'll make an exception!"

Realizing his healing factor, which he relied on consistently, was of no help to him now, the Beast tried to back away. Unfortunately, Danny was too quick.

He knocked the Beast to the ground several feet back, slashing at his neck three times before stabbing the arm.

Howling in pain, the Beast tried to push him off, only to be grabbed by the muzzle and thrown on top of the metal liquid, burning him more. He tried to crawl away, his arrogance replaced with cowardice now that he had no means of fighting back or recovering.

Unfortunately, Danny grabbed him by injured tail and pulled him back, his less injured arm scraping the ground as he failed to escape

"This is your favorite way to finish people, right?" Danny asks as he presses the blade to his foe's neck. "Let's see how you like it!"

He grabbed the Beast's head from the side to avoid the fires with his free hand, pulling the head with as much strength as he could muster.

Feeling the blade pierce his skin and his body too tired and injured to keep going, the Beast struggled helplessly. Instead of a murderous look in his eyes, they were filled with cowardice and the same fear he was used to seeing in others.

"No, no… NOOOOOOOOO!" The Beast cried out in anger, unwilling to let his killing spree end.

Danny's blade cut right through.

The sound of a thump on the ground, followed by the body falling over, meant one thing.

That the Beast of Gevaudan was once again no more. 5 minutes prior to the full 24 hours of his return.

Dani stopped what she was doing, helping the remaining ghosts, when she heard that sound.

"Bro?" She feared what she heard was Danny crying out.

"Go to him…" Frostbite, the last ghost to help, said.

"What? But… what about you?" Dani asks.

"I shall… wait…" Frostbite gave her a small smile to reassure her.

With that, she flew towards where the sound came from.

He paused in the air as she saw her brother, walking away from something on fire several feet away.

There was an exhausted, pained look on his face as he dragged the sword Jack Fenton gave him on the ground, the blade collecting dirt as it did so.

Dani landed in front of him.

"Danny? Bro? W-What happened?" She asks.

Silently, he raised the sword and pointed to the object on fire.

The fire on it had spread, making what it once was difficult to make out. Not helping that the puddle of metal liquid solidified a bit, sealing it to the ground.

It didn't take her long to realize what that was.

"You set him on fire? Did you… umm… y'know?" She asks, gesturing to her neck.

He nodded silently before getting on his knees.

He collapsed to the ground, morphing back to human form.

"...it's done… It's finally over." He said, out of breath and losing consciousness.

"Oh crud… Danny!" Dani tried to help him up. "I gotta-"

She then heard the sounds of helicopters approaching.

Looking away, she saw several military choppers were landing closer to the mill than they were.

"Already? But it hasn't been an hour." She whispered as she pulled Danny and his sword away, turning herself and him invisible.

The military left the helicopters, approaching the mill.

"Over here!" One soldier in gear pointed inside.

As a few of them entered, Larissa noticed the damage to the building. It was the damage caused by the Beast's battle with the ghosts prior to Danny's arrival.

"He's here, alright... or at least he was." She scanned the area. "Where'd he go now?"

Two soldiers entered the room where the final battle of a ghost and a werewolf started, seeing the damaged wall and missing container of liquid metal.

"Lieutenant! Come here! You need to see this!" One of them shouted as they pointed ahead.

Larissa made her way towards the room, seeing the damage for herself.

"Someone call the local fire department!" She ordered as she made her way around.

"Lieutenant?" One soldier got her attention and pointed to the wall. "Look at this. What do you make of this?"

"Looks like Phantom beat us to-" She noticed something outside the mill thanks to the giant hole it had, something on fire. "Wait... What is that?"

She made her way to the fire, starting to notice the missing container with a large tear through it.

Three of her men followed her, armed in case of danger. Namely, if the Beast was still present.

"A campfire?" One of the soldiers guessed.

"Too big to be a campfire..." One other said as he sniffed the air. "Smell that? It smells like burning meat... but... it doesn't smell like any game I've ever smelled..."

Larissa took in the scent as well and a thought crossed her mind.

Recalling a hunting trip she once had as a teenager with her cousins, she thought back to being forced to live off local wildlife. What she had that night tasted terrible, yet distinctive as the smell was too familiar to mistake.

"Smells like burning wolf meat..." She whispered as she quickened her pace.

Once arrived, she looked down and saw just what she was about to step on before stepping back.

The liquid metal burnt the ground, leaving it damaged and covered in what was too dangerous to step on, yet what was in front of her by 10 feet was still burning brightly.

Upon recognizing the shape, she realized what this was.

"He set the Beast's body on fire..." She said with a low voice.

The soldiers approached.

"Should we... put it out? The fire?" One soldier asks.

Larissa considered the option. On one hand, it's dangerous not to do something about the fire and her orders were to retrieve the Beast so that his DNA could be studied. On the other hand, she has seen first hand what he was capable of, and she knew that the sooner it was dealt with the better, as well as the fires likely making said DNA useless if it's burning this intensely.

"Leave it be..." She ordered. "No good to us now..."

"Understood, lieutenant." One soldier said, not arguing against direct orders.

"Start looking around. Phantom has to be around here somewhere..." She ordered.

"Understood!" Obeying, the soldiers fanned out.

Once she was alone, Larissa looked to the fires before cracking a small smile.

"Can't say he didn't deserve this…" She said under her breath before the sounds of something being dragged atop the dirt caught her attention.

She turned her head and walked in that same direction. She began to notice a faint glow behind a car, with a pair of legs sticking out. Legs with red sneakers.

With Dani

"I'm surprised you still keep that thing." Dani said as she held up the sword Danny had just used. "I figure you'd put it away or something…"

"I put it away in that pocket dimension or wherever it leads to just to keep it somewhere in case I need it…" Danny said in a low voice.

Dani set him up, sitting up next to Frostbite.

"You… you've done it?" Frostbite asked before Danny nodded. "I… I see…"

His tone seemed pleased, but there was also something else. Something less positive.

Disappointment? Displeasure? Concern? All Danny knew was that Frostbite found what he did was as troubling as he did.

"I wish I didn't have to, to be honest…" Danny admitted in an empty tone.

"As do I…" Frostbite said with a deep breath before putting on a smile. "Still… the human world is free of one more monster because of you…"

"Yeah…" Danny said, though as he hugged his legs closer with his arms, his expression was half-victorious and half-hallow.

"...you okay?" Dani asks as she holds the map in her hands.

"...really?" Danny asks, gesturing to scratches and his disheveled hair.

"...okay… obviously not outside. I meant… inside." Dani pointed to his head.

Danny's face contorted with tiredness and emptiness.

But before he could answer, a voice cleared her throat.

"Am I interrupting?" Larissa leaned on the side of the car, arms crossed.

The three remained quiet, unsure what to do before Danny spoke up.

"Uh… Lieutenant? Appreciate the cavalry and all, but aren't you early?" He questioned.

"I wanted to keep my promise. My boss, General Maxxon, didn't make that promise and ordered me to come." She explained before turning her head back to see the fires of what was once their target. "Guess you took care of things…"

"Yeah…" Danny said as he leaned his head back and took in some air. "...so… are you gonna arrest me or something for interfering with military business or something?"

"Well… Danny Phantom destroyed that thing. I don't see him…" Larissa pretended to survey the area. "So, as far as I am allowed to do, I can't arrest those who are right in front of me right now, since I don't have orders to do so."

"Heh… thanks." Danny said, feeling some levity as his body began to relax.

The battle was finally over.
