The screams of Toonville echoed across the paper-thin skyline.
After surviving countless hellish encounters, the unlikely alliance of survivors—The Dark Lord, Mokey, Grooby, Skid, Pump, Bryson, and the legendary Plungerman—entered the warped 2D skyline of Toonville. Buildings bobbed like jelly, people bounced in loops of slapstick absurdity, but beneath the silliness, something had shifted.
There was something wrong with the ink.
They barely had time to breathe before they were ambushed by the bratty mutated infected fox known as Vivian—patient zero, teleporting between the folds of frames like a glitch no animator could contain. Plungerman, brave to the core, wrestled her into containment as the others tried, and failed, to administer the limited antidote doses. But it wasn't enough.
Then came Riggy—the Rabbit-Monkey hybrid, 80% infected. He begged for help. The survivors tried to escort him, but—
From the shadows emerged the nightmare they weren't prepared for:
A monstrous, jagged distortion of speed and hunger: Shin Sonic.
Hideous. Rapid. Unnatural.
Feeding on data. On people. On reality.
He didn't last long.
The Dark Lord obliterated him—a show of true rage, cracking the Toonville grid.
But worse was coming.
The Titan-Sized ViraBot—a nightmare of rusted flesh and fractal programming—reappeared, slamming down like a skyscraper from the sky. The Dark Lord charged it.
And in its chest?
A shape. Familiar. Contorted.
It was… The Chosen One.
Alive? Infected? Unknown.
The Titan-ViraBot retreated into corruption once more, taking The Chosen One with it. But someone else arrived.
He looked like The Dark Lord. But wrong. Ancient. Infested.
It was The Mantis.
"Thank you," he rasped. "You did well… spreading the infection. Starting with the YouTube IP barrier... The app was only the beginning."
The Mantis grinned with mandibles slick with red pixels, then vanished. The Dark Lord, fury in his code, chased after him into the glitching shadows.
The others tried to follow… but it was too late.
Toonville began to collapse, the ink running like blood, the laws of cartoon physics torn apart. The survivors fled, barely making it out as the city folded into static.
They escaped.
But The Dark Lord didn't.
Or worse… maybe he did. Maybe he's still chasing. Or maybe... he's changing.
