Trenton New Jersey

Our villain's viewpoint

Reviewing all the documents brought by Express this morning, I got angry. Again. It was becoming a regular event. My efforts to gain control of the network Dmitri once ran seamlessly, have been a disaster so far. The entire structure was coming apart. And I was too far away from home to run things the way they should be run. People were getting sloppy.

I have been hunting this little bastard for far too long. And have still gotten nowhere. I just don't understand how he has remained so well hidden. Always ahead of my operatives. I just don't see how he's managing it…

And all the time I have been searching, the United States federal agencies were closing in on my enterprises… interfering in all my operations… I just have no patience for these so called G-men.

And everything my men have done to discourage everyone who were helping the government agents has done little to stop their involvement.

Killing the mobster Grizzoli and trying to kill his government liaison, that RangeMan CEO Manoso person, didn't work…The government agents were still all over us. And Manoso survived the attack. And my eyes inside his company vanished along with Kinsey's whole family.

Meanwhile, I have been stuck in the arm pit of the world- Trenton New Jersey - looking for a man and woman who went to school with Ana two decades ago. That psycho bitch. This is all that slut's fault. Trying to track these people all this time later was like trying to find a needle in a haystack…or a needle in a stack of fucking needles. In two years of searching, I've had only glimpses of success. Italy, Greece, Spain, and now this God forsaken city. And still unable to find this man.

Hacking the local banks and the Trenton government offices, breaking into all the businesses… none of it was working. That RangeMan company interfered there as well. The best of my hackers couldn't break the encryption being used.

The coffins on doorsteps didn't work, it only made people scatter. It was meant to show people they were targeted and make them afraid. Instead they disappeared

It's damn frustrating to be no closer to finding Ana's son than when we started. Always two steps behind. And the gang members killing each other left and right is doing nothing to help… Getting them involved was a huge mistake.

The mobster's nephew hadn't said anything yet, but we are going to need to kill him before he changed his mind. Locked up, that would be easy enough to arrange. And the niece was too well protected…Witness Protection – Impossible! But now it seemed she wasn't even the woman we are looking for. Dmitri's breadcrumbs were getting them nowhere. There was no sign of the man who was related to the child on the father's side. The name on the blood donor list- which identified the man as a close relative to Ana's son- was a fake, an alias.

Another false start.

Two of my best enforcers had been picked up after a quick trip to New York City. It was like the police knew where to find them. Impossible.

I need to find Ana's son. Fucking Dmitri up and died before giving up the information. If it hadn't been for the braids of hair, Ana's and that of the boy, that Dmitri had sealed in the locket, we wouldn't even be this far.

My "uncle" Dmitri- who promised I was his heir ever since his son died- had secreted away millions from the legal business earning, for this kid who did nothing to earn it. And the kid had to have the key to it… Or the father had it… the one nobody could find. FUCK!

I need that money to ensure everyone's loyalty- it should have been mine. I worked beside Dmitri for years and was loyal… and the bratva was owed loyalty. This was meant to be my time. No, I wasn't a blood relative, but my mother had been his lover since I was ten. We were owed!

Now the man in front of me is telling me that the bodyguard with the Grizzoli might have had a role in protecting and hiding the child… That he had in fact been a part of Felix Montenegro's inner circle, according to the DNA sample they got from the morgue.

The reports came back a week ago, and I just want to kill someone!

Because this dead man will tell no tales.

FUCK!

I had ordered, "I want Bava's life under a microscope. I want to know where he went and who he knows. Everything!"

Now I have the report. Next to nothing… The man never left Trenton…

I finally look up when my man say, "The only anomaly found so far was a train ticket to Boston that was in his belongings when he was killed. Not in his name… but in a name from the blood donor list…"

A real lead. Months too late to be truly helpful.

"I want every available man in Boston immediately." I stood and grabbed the report to review. I need to tighten the net- This bastard would not escape me again or my name wasn't Aleksandr Ivan Monilovich.
