And so, we begin our heroes' adventure with the first arc of this story… THE TIDES OF TERROR!
Chapter 2: Tides of terror arc: A Stealthy Approach.
The cooper van races down the road towards its destination. Inside, sly took this time to read up some info on their target.
Sly (NARRATION): "are first target of the fiendish five is Sir Raleigh: a frog faunus engineering genius, turned pirate mastermind. Originally, Raleigh had a rich life and privilege, specially one for a hot-headed faunus like him. but he soon became bored with it, he then one day sailed his yacht to try his hand at piracy. Suffice to say, he found it to be his liking and calling. As his criminal activities grow, so did his talents in building machines, it was this that led to his recruitment as chief machinist of the fiendish five. The last known sightings of the "notorious amphibian", was off the southern coast of the Isle of Wrath, a small island uncomfortably situated in the perilous Welsh Triangle. And it's where we are heading."
ISLE OF WRATH
(Playing Theme: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus - A Stealthy Approach).
The island's environment is mostly lush, with trees and deadly thorns scattered about. Other features here include steep cliffs; some even have waterfalls that flow very far down into the sea. One can also see a bunch of wrecked ships out in the ocean and some other inaccessible islands far off. The cooper van pulled up at a spot where stand a sign that said: "keep out". The backdoors opens and sly jumped out, prime and ready. he runs inside a small cave entrance that took him to a bigger arena, one where there stood a huge gate in front of a road, his binocucom soon beeped he then activate it to see Bentley contacting him.
Bentley: "hey, sly! I just spotted something that's going to complicate this mission. You see that nasty looking gate? It blocks the only path that leads into Raleigh's hideout.
Sly: "no problem, I'll find a way around it."
Sly looked around till he spotted a ladder that was leaning on a ledge that was sticking out from a stone wall. The raccoon thief race over to the ladder and begin climb up it. the raccoon thief suddenly felt danger and swiftly jumped off the ladder just seconds before something big impacted his previous position. Sly looked up and sees a big blue overall wearing walrus beastkin armed with a giant mallet. The thug came at sly, and cooper quickly dodge his enemy's next strike. Sly then jump up and whack the guard hard on his head with his cane, taking him out. Sly took a brief moment to reflect how the giant brute nearly got him due to his carelessness on not checking his surroundings first before climbing; his danger sense warned him of the attack in the nick of time. The blue-clad thief checks around this time to make sure there won't be any more surprises. Once he sees it's clear, he went back up the ladder. At the top of the Ladder was a platform that sly use to jump over the fence and landed on the other side of the gate. The raccoon continues onward until he came across a duo of spotlights, sly stop when he hears comm's beeping which is Bentley calling him urgently.
Bentley: "Hold on, sly. See those searchlights? One careless step and you'll be subjected to acute combustion!"
Sly rolled his eyes of this news. and signs; sometimes he thought, Bentley can a bit overreacting.
Sly: "are you done whining Bentley? Then let's go!"
Bentley: "(Annoyed) Hey! I'm just trying to keep you alive, 'partner'."
sly understood, and he didn't mean to be hash on his friend like that. it was just that he didn't need Bentley to worry for him unnecessarily.
Sly:" hey, I do appreciate the help. and sorry for that.
Bentley: "apology accepted. and fortunately for you I've managed to launch these signal repeaters throughout Raleigh's fortress. Get close to one I can checkpoint your progress!"
Sly: "Nice."
The raccoon thief proceeds: he first avoids the search lights and destroying the alarm. he then encountered another walrus goon; this one dressed in a black jacket, with a red shirt underneath., blue jeans, and black boots. and finally, he had on shades. The walrus was armed with golden throwing stars. The thug then begins throwing his star at sly upon seeing him. Sly jump and leap over the stars as they flew by. He then runs up and takes out the thug with a blow on the head, via his cane. After that, the checkpoint that Bentley mentioned earlier snap a quick flash on him upon running up close to it; The device had conjured up an image above it, now showing a holographic image of the cooper symbol. Sly took it as its meaning it just now marks him. and so, continue on the path ahead. A long the way, the raccoon thief came a upon a green bottle with some paper that was sticking out. Sly hit the bottle to collect whatever message that was inside.
Bentley: "now this is very interesting. The message you found in the bottle appears to be some sort of clue! I'll decipher it here in the van. In the meantime, see if you can find any more clues. The more I have the easier it'll be to crack the code."
Sly: "sure thing, Bentley, any green bottles I find, I'll smash them up."
As the young raccoon move forward through the raining path, he came upon a hill with a view of what he sees is a ship from a distance in the water. But what really caught sly's attention was the strange airship that was hovering above the boat: it looked like it was some kind of blimp, but one that looked more like a pumping machine then some standard blimp. He immediately contacts Bentley to inform him of this.
Bentley: "let's see, according to my amphibian-positioning system. That big blimp that's hovering over that boat must be where Raleigh is hiding out."
Sly: "hmm you know that blimp looks more like a machine then a hide-out."
Bentley: "you're right, sly. That is a storm machine! I believe it's the reason why it never stops raining around here."
Sly: "that explains all the wrecked ships down there."
Bentley: "but the question is, why would Raleigh want a 24/7 of bad weather in his own hide-out?"
Sly: "Beats me, but rain or shine, I'm going to steal my family's book back. And if Raleigh get in my way…it's on."
After that conversation, sly continued on his mission, passing by a waterfall, then a second one; this one had a stronger currant so sly used the stones in the water to jump across it. He then comes upon a gate with a hook above it. Bentley called him via an earpiece.
Bentley: "nice job so far, sly. To get over this gate, you'll need to use your cane to grab onto that hook."
Sly: "got it."
The young thief proceeded to jump and use his cane to grab on to the hook, then he swings across over the gate. The young cooper had to carefully go across over several water wheel machineries. sly silently sneaked past an unaware guard, while crossing another bridge of those water machines. It was then that the blue raccoon came upon a big vault: sly looked at it, it kind of remind sly of the vault that was in Carmelita's office.
Bentley: "that large vault has got to be link to all those clue bottles you've been collecting, sly. if you are to find all of clues in the area, I might be able to solve the code and get you in vault."
Sly nodded and proceed on forward. He was greeted by several searchlights that lighted the area. With skill and timing, sly passed the lights and take out the that was stationed near the alarm horns. With a swing of his cane, sly destroy the horns and thus shutting off the searchlights.
he decided to search the place before moving forward, as he found some more green message bottles Sly looked and spotted a wooden pedestal with a glass dome display case; inside it was a key of some sorts: it looked like a blue hat that forms the handle and connected with the key blade part, thus forming the key. He smashed the glass and grab the key, then tossing it up above his head, and with sudden reflexes, swiftly caught the key with his cane via the hook. twirling it in it for a second before tossing it back up and it lands perfectly in his open backpack.
Sly cross his arms with a corky smirk on his face afterwards.
Sly: "ha!... not bad, if I do so say myself. now then let me call Bentley real quick."
He Swiftly pressing the earpiece in his ear.
Sly: "hey, Bentley. I think I've found some sort of key; what can you make of it?"
Bentley: "hmm… that must be atreasure key, sly. Raleighuses these types of keys to secure and lock down certain items, or to limit access to restricted areas. "
Sly: "nice! so, I could use this if I need to unlock a lock, huh? Sounds useful."
With informion in mind, the raccoon thief went back where he was doing. Little time passed before Bentley contacted him via the com-link, after finding the 20th clue bottle.
Bentley: "you did it sly! That the last clue to crack open the code! I believe now I can find the vault and I'll give you the instruction."
Hearing this, sly made his way back towards the vault he found earlier. Once he was there, he gets on his knee to the combination lock.
Sly: "alright Bentley, I'm here. What's the code?"
Bentley: "The clues had leaded me to believe that the code for this vault is 7-9-2."
Sly input the code as instructed and like before turned the vault's wheel to unlock it. Upon opened sly spotted a lone piece of paper inside. Grabbing it, he looked at it and sly can see it was a page from a book; the words on said page as he quick-read it made the thief's heart skip a beat. He recognized the page in about the sometime Bentley called to confirming what he just found.
Bentley: "sly! You've found a page from the Thievius Raccoonus! This page teaches old drake cooper's fast attack dive move."
Despite the wet dreary rain, he was in. cooper couldn't stop the warm smile that appear on his face. Sly stuffed the page into his backpack and take out a small blue paper of the cooper symbol and place it in the vault. After that, he back on mission for Raleigh's hideout. he manages to reach a cave entice that was blocked be a key-locked gate.
Bentley: "sly! This cave here looks like it could take you towards Raleigh's boat. Try using that treasure key you've found."
Sly take out the key from he's backpack and unlock the gate; it lowered into the ground presenting a clear path. With that done sly pocketed the key back into his backpack and runs towards the entrance.
